So I have been thinking about an idea, just wanted to post it here and hope I'm in the right place!

Essentially, I am a very curious person in general and love learning about characters, as well as developing back stories and working on ideas about what has happened in the character's pasts etc.

I am hoping (depending on interest of course) to propose an RP group/story set in an old shop, where characters can enter and purchase curious items to suit their needs. Like a bar/tavern setting, the characters would enter the shop and meet the owners of the shop and they can vent a story/test out character traits/work out a character's backstory through conversations with the staff/invite people onto a quest using the items available in the shop.

It's almost an ideas testing-ground for those characters that you're still working out the kinks for, or that you want to develop.
It could also develop into a story, with regulars visiting for their fixes, soldiers coming in to fix or upgrade their weapons - it'd be one of those shops where you just seem to be able to get anything. If friendships developed between the staff and customers, they could go out and close the shop, it'd be quite an open and free RP.

Fantasy setting, so trolls, imps, elves, even mermaids are welcome - the shopkeeper would be a warlock of sorts, so just anyone is welcome.

I don't know what people think about the idea, could be a total flop and silly, but feel free to post questions and let me know if you're interested!

I totally love this idea!! I would totally throw a character in, could it be possible to have a serving girl there? I had one a long time ago and would love to bring her back :)

Hmm. I've got a character I've got in mind, possibly. Just to clarify, this is a group roleplay, right? I personally prefer 1x1s, but I'm trying to get back into the practice of writing shorthand for groups again.

@OliviaV Hey! Yes, of course; it could be nice to have her put in an application - I'm imagining setting the scene with the shop opening up; a 'job vacancies' sign in the window, because people come and go... of course!

@Etch Hi, I think this would be a group roleplay but it would have the opportunities for 1x1 - you could easily veer off with another character and go on an adventures in PMs, then return to the shop to tell the tales to the shop keeper/return items :) Whatever you are comfortable with!
Jack also seems like a great candidate to visit the shop - he'd have a lot of stories to tell and perhaps reasons to buy certain salves and potions to help him through those stories :)

@MissCapnCrunch Your character sounds perfect! Any time you want to play around and make sure you still remember how she works, she can visit the shop and have a chat with the employees!

Is a detailed character sheet mandatory? Because I'd love the idea of slowly revealing all my char's secrets by roleplaying in the shop, only giving away his appearance.

@J Silversmith Hey! I'm really glad you're interested! I'm still working out the kinks, so your thoughts have made me think! I don't think I will ask for character sheets, because it'll be such a 'come and go'-type RP with some people coming back if they enjoy it, so the slow reveal for your character would indeed work very well!

Are you still taking players? I've got a new DND campaign I'll be joining soon, it'd be super cool to rp my character here and get a feel for how she is! This is a really cool idea (｡･ω･｡)

[@everyone] I'm amazed at how much interest this has recieved, so I'm going to try to get it up and running asap! I've got a 5 hour drive home tomorrow afternoon so we'll see how tired I am after that to get something up!
