Awesome modifying my post slightly to make that cannon!

I dont remember if it was in a post or the ooc, but Leon has 5 years at the sunday group. He started a few weeks after his daughter was born lnoeing it was now or never. His wife died a couple months after that from a combination of postpartum depression, the ongoing marital stress, and reduced alcohol tollerence after not drinking during the pregnancy. She was upset, she was drunk, and then she was gone.

If we're on that subject, I sort of figure that Morgan has probably been an actual part of the Group for about five years, but has been known in the paranormal-investigator scene, such as it is, for a decade. She's probably interacted with the Group in years past in a very light-touch way as the FBI's "weird shit" person. She's kept her reasons for joining the Group very private, and was definitely lie-by-omission during any kind of interview process prior to being hired. The whole point here is that she has a secret, after all. :3

So now I'm curious who is what on our team? I mean we have 6 PCs (no offense to E, but she's clearly the boss/mentor so she's a step above the others).

I mean Leon has been fairly explicitly called the big guy, but he also covers a nice part of the smart guy rules with his magic knowledge and reliance on making stuff to get by. I almost instinctively wanna say Manny is the ranger just because I've written with Pooh before. Morgan seems equally capable of being the "heart" in the more manipulative role like "Faceman" from Ateam OR being a lancer with the dangers of her background driving a wedge between her and the group (not that Leon helps with that issue ;p). I get a feeling that Kennedy could also be the heart in the more traditional grounding of the characters. She is still the closest to the normal world and doesn't have the edgy crazy side that Malone has.

I'm not sure where Malone and Fiona join in exactly though. This whole thing will probably be easier to figure out much later down the line instead of 1 post in.

It is something to consider, definitely. I was kinda thinking about Manny as sorta the rogue though

Malone absolutely cannot be the heart with how broken she is at the moment. She is edgy, but her edginess would only show through when on the hunt. Otherwise she would be polite and almost withdrawn. Admittedly she's had some time to 'cool off' after leaving the Bureau in that dramatic way. She's 35 currently and her last big case was when she was 33, so she's had a year to dip her toes in the paranormal pool, until she finally found the Sunday Group.

But, yeah... I think we'll need a bit of time to settle within our characters and see how it goes.

@ihinka The Ranger is the 6th member and usually a wild card. Ex. Tommy from power rangers. High chance of being badasses all on their own. I just know that Pooh has played some ranger style characters before. EX the last thing we were in together I was once again the big guy as a robot and he was an actual ranger who showed up a bit late (where he met my other character who was a heart).

Yeah, I would say we'll need more time and we'll see how characters develop, but from what I heard in that video I think Kennedy fills the Heart role nicely. As you mentioned, she's the closest thing the group has to the normal world. We'll see, as time goes on, if that remains the case.

@jasonwolf Could be I just meant he gives off this roguish vibe to me... sort of Space Dandy/Vash the Stampede mix. I believe I said as much somewhere in the OOC

While I'll admit sometimes people do tend to fall into certain archetypes, I feel we are far too complex to be entirely encompassed by only one. I'm leaning towards us covering more then one role. And, gods willing, we achieve good cohesion, we'll complement each other

I honestly read this as Space Daddy and didn't even bat an eyelash. Like yeah, that makes sense haha

I kind of figured Fiona was going to be more of a gray moral/ chaotic neutral kind of role. I imagine she'd have no problem bending any moral obligations I figure the others are going to quarrel with, which will probably put her in less than ideal situations. I also kind of figured she had been in the group for a couple of years, but I honestly hadn't given it much thought.

@ihinka Oh yeah I mean Leon can fit leader, big guy, smart guy, and heart probably lancer too if he was in a bad mood. It's just on how he's played, and I'm sure others will be complex too, but even then character roles (even ones outside of these five) then to show up and link the team together. they talk about those five, but you can break those down into more specific versions if you have multiples of one major catagory. The faceman, the big lug, and the sweet innocent are all versions of the heart some mixed with other traits (big lug being heart and big guy).

If we're going by TV Tropes terms, Manny would either be the Ranger or the Lancer, though you're probably right with the Ranger assumption. Also chalk this down to my ear infection from my trip and the dizziness that accompanies it, but remind me what RP we did before? I know I RPed with you, just forgot the specific one.

Also Manny probably has a very similar life to Morgan, only with a more human life expectancy. He's been freelancing for a long ass time, but probably joined the group round about 4 years ago.

@jasonwolf - I'm not certain that Morgan fits neatly into one of the boxes for the "five-man band" trope. That doesn't super surprise me, I'm really bad at drawing inside the lines. :3

She is not going to be a mediating force between bickering personalities; her expectation is that people around her act like professionals (whether this expectation is borne out, I suppose, is the question). She does have a ferocious sense of right and wrong, but one that isn't necessarily constrained by a rigid morality save for, in some ways, her own internal ethics and sense of self.

I have this feeling that there's absolutely going to be a time where Morgan shoves Leon out of the way of something that's really going to hurt, and wind up making sure Maria still gets to have a daddy. And since nothing is free of consequences, will then to explain how it was that she survived something that tore a Dumpster in half. Whether or not that's when people start asking questions they hadn't thought to ask before is a different narrative question.

@Naril Far enough. Just really enjoy those videos so it had me thinking. Honestly, if I tried to apply it to my solo writing I'd have the weirdest 5 man bad ever. Even if I literally force people into their closest role. My biggest project would have: lancer, lancer, lancer, lancer, smart guy. It's kinda hilarious. Same time I put that to my pokemon team in that same story and it works strangely perfect if I put the trainer as a mentor.

I have added some privileged knowledge at the bottom. This is stuff your chracter would know/sense. Don't let it be a bind you can sense and know other stuff. You can invent clues if you want them and ill integrate them into the mystery. I'm just trying a few different ways to get info out there to you guys. If you have particular questions you can ask them here or PM me :)

I do have a question though. What standard equipment to we have? Are we provided with stuff or do we supply our own?
