"So let me get this straight, you want to connect me to a machine that will transport me back in time?"

"Not transport, more along the lines of reliving through your genetic code."

"I thought I was contacted to be an engineer?" Sky questioned getting more confused by the moment.

Two days ago a company called Abstergo Industries had sent an envelope to her door by UPS driver. It had been important that she`d signed off on it. Inside had been contact information and a location for the meeting she was currently having. Now she had applied for a job here, that part wasn`t surprising. The conversation that wasn`t about her engineering degree was more than surprising. The job they were offering her was so personal that privacy was out the window.

The Animus, a device that could read a person`s DNA and recreate their ancestor`s life through them. Few people had ancestors that were picked for the task, and unbeknown to Sky, all of her fellow guinea pigs had ancestors involved in assassination brotherhoods. The silver haired woman was no different. They now wanted to use her to get to her ancestor. One of which they wouldn`t release knowledge on until she signed the papers agreeing to release her body and mind to them. In return for a more than decent salary, that once again wasn`t about her engineering degree that she`d spent four years and quite a bit of student loans on.

This ancestor`s name was Lunetta Solace Salvador, known by her family and friends as Solace or Sol. Besides her name and the fact that the woman was born and raised in Italy, Sky knew nothing. They were being very secret about all of this. That being said they did say it was a secret project in the first place. It was that reason that she was here in this room thinking about giving her physical and mental health to them.

"You said there were going to be safety warnings, the reason you need me to sign these papers is so none of you get blamed if something happens to me, correct?"

"Yes, but I promise you that nothing bad will happen to you. The Animus has been tested many times. The users have always come out alive, a little disheveled from the experience, but alive. We also will give you more benefits than any other job on the market. You won`t have to worry about a thing while you`re involved in this project. Your student loans will be paid off at the end and when the project is complete based on your performance we may offer you a permanent job with us." The very official woman in front of her explained as if this was a piece of cake.

"You`ll be going into my brain though." Sky pushed wanting to know every little fact she could before rushing into something.

"The only thing we`ll look at is your genetic code and memories of your ancestor. Anything inside your own memories will be left untouched I assure you. One of our own staff was also assigned to be in this project as well. He will be doing a different dive than you but you`ll have someone there to experience it with. None of this process will be any means be any more personal than you want it to be. In my best opinion I think the pros out weigh the cons."

Sitting in the uncomfortable chair the conference room provided Sky stared out the window deep in her own head. This opportunity was a good one, she`d be giving herself to science and history, but maybe that wasn`t such a bad thing. The long term opportunities associated with the short term project definitely helped. She wouldn`t be alone either it seemed. At the least she`d have a companion to accompany her after they finished their sessions.

The silver haired woman sighed as she looked back at the brunette across from her. "I`ll do it, but please make sure that I come out of this as healthy as I went into it."

The woman simply smiled enthusiastically as she slide Sky a packet of paperwork. "We`ll definitely try our best Ms.Montgomery."

"This machine is capable of acheiving so much. It gives you the opportunity to learn about your ancestors in a whole new way. Something almost dream like." The Abstergo briefer said.

"Yeah, yeah, I know how this all works." Luca said waving his hand. The Abstergo employee had already given the whole lecture to Luca, he was just reiterating the possibility of learning about his family members. Luca was always curious about his family but he never had the chance to learn anything about them. His grandfather had died when he was a baby. His mother left him with his dad. When he was 5 his dad died in an accident.

The other day he had gotten a letter in the mail about Abstergo Industries, telling him he had a chance to work on a new assignment and to learn about his long lost family history. He was the last of the Reinholdt dynasty. How could he say no?

"Rememeber there is no guarantee for you to come back 100% healthy. We as a company will do our best to curve any side effects, but this program is still being tested." He had gone over it in the brief but he wanted Luca to think about it a little more before he had made up his mind.

"Yeah. I know about all that. I'll still do it. I don't have much going on right now anyway. Just sign me up." Luca said shrugging his shoulders. The Abstergo employee nodded his head and signed a couple papers and handed them to Luca.

"My signature proves that I briefed you on everything we talked about. I need you to sign here." He said pointing his finger to the paper, "And here." He said pointing to another spot. Luca nodded and signed both areas. "There's a woman down the hall being briefed on everything you just were. You'll both be sharing similar experiences but you both are doing different dives." The employee packed up his briefcase and headed for the door. "Good luck." He said on his way out.

The pen in her hand felt heavy. She was signing herself away to this company. It was a hard thing to think about honestly. This was a big chance though, for her she could find out stuff about her history and learn about a different time period. Well actually she could experience a different time period. Not many people would ever have that chance.

She wrote her name on all the forms before skidding them back to the woman. "Is the other guy here? I`d like to introduce myself to him if I`ll be spending this much time with him." In all honesty she hoped they got along well. If not than all of this would get ten times harder. What they explained didn`t sound like the best conditions in mental state for them. The side effects causing a lot of strain on the body, especially in people who`ve never done it before.

"Ah yes, I`ll show you where he is. We were briefing you two before introductions anyway."

With that they left the small conference room and traveled down the sleek hallway. This place was so modernized it almost felt like she`d entered an alien spaceship. With what she was doing honestly she wouldn`t be too surprised if she had. Sky knew that she`d at least be living here for the duration of the project. There were a couple of small shared apartments in the basement of the building that were rented out to certain people. Side effects being taken into consideration and the fact that she`d be monitored on her health was why she was residing here.

A man stepped out of a room down the hall and walked away with a briefcase. Sky could only decipher that he would be in that room. Sure enough they stopped in front of the door with a plate that read 'Conference Room B'. "He`ll be inside, I`ll leave you two to get situated with each other. Someone will be up to take you down to where you`ll be staying. I encourage getting your stuff today or tomorrow."

Sky nodded, "will do. Thank you," she said as she watched the serious woman walk away.

Taking a deep breath she placed her right hand on the handle and opened the door. "Excuse me sir, it seems like we`ll be on the same project togeth-" All air left her lungs the moment she stepped through the doorway. It seemed all she could do was stare at the man in front of her. What could she say to him? They hadn`t seen each other since he read the note in her bedside table.

The one that revealed she`d been cheating on him with their best friend.

"Luca," Sky said quietly not knowing where to start. To be quite honestly he may not even recognize her. It`d been three years and even then she`d dyed her dark brown hair sliver. The way she looked had become more mature. Maybe she still had time to back out of all of this and not face the past. Hell knows she`d tried to explain back then. It seemed fate really wanted to knock her out in the worst possible way. There had been two sides to their relationship back then and she knew he had to still hate her.

He`d never given her even a chance to explain anything about her side of the story.

Luca had been sitting there thinking about his next plans. He was never able to experience the Animus he had been hearing so much about. He actually couldn't wait to give it a shot. He was truly excited. He was hoping his partner would be a good person. He was eager to see him or her. He waited a few moments before getting up. Just before he had moved he had heard a lady start opening the door.

They were going to be partners? Really? Her of all people? It must've been a really bad joke. His heart sank and he felt depression starting to set in. His throat felt tight. He sighed and turned away. He didn't want to deal with this. All the excitement he had all dissipated into nothing. Why did he have to have her as a partner.

A second later she said "Luca." He cringed as she said it. Once it was a word he had loved to hear come from her voice, now it was a word of heartbreak, and remorse. He wish he hadn't committed so much feeling and love to her. Betrayal. Hatred. He never felt something like that with someone. 'Why the hell did it have to be her?' He thought.

"Yeah. I guess we're partners." He managed to say. It felt like a challenge to say anything right now. He wanted to cry and just leave. He wanted nothing to do with her. At all. He didn't want to hear her bullshit excuses in why she did what she did. He could've cheated on her several times but she out weighed all options. It was obvious she chose someone else over what they had. It was hurtful and he didn't want to deal with it.

"Don't say my name again." He said shaking his head. "What do you want?" He didn't care about what she had to say, cause she wouldn't have anything good to say anyway. He was just polite even when he shouldn't be. He was raised to be a good man and apparently good people are rare now days.

The way he cringed caused her chest to ache. It hurt that after all this time he was still so repulsed by her in that way. It wasn't like she had stopped loving him back then. She had. School had become busy for both of them back then. Sometimes he was downright short with her and her to him. Going to Henry had been a mistake. The first time Henry admitted that he felt more strongly than he should they both had known it was a big mistake.

There are some mistakes you just can't take back. She'd been young and inexperienced with the world. Hell! She'd been 18 and he'd been 21 when they started dating, they were different in experiences from the start. Now they were 22 and 24 respectively. His birthday every time it rolled around was still a reminder to her. It`s hard to let someone you were so close too go. The reaction of him not being able to even stand looking at her was enough to remind her of all of that.

Yet after all this time he was still the same man as he was before. Sky knew he`d be civil no matter how angry at her he was. "I`m not going to run out of here. It`s obvious why you can`t forgive me, I don`t expect you too." She paused trying not to let her emotions creep up on her again. This stuff had been buried deep down to try to forget the scar that was still raw. "This situation is one we`ll just have to be adults about."

"Well and I physically can`t go far or I`m royally screwed. This place is gigantic."

Humor to ease pressure, yep plan A for uncomfortable atmosphere`s had gone into action. Hopefully he could actually look at her while they were on this project. It wasn`t like she really had family or anyone else to talk too. Being people from messed up backgrounds had been one of the reasons they`d become so close so quickly.

Sky had been the product of an affair and as such had been fought over in custody in all of her early childhood. Her father had won custody simply because her mother was unfit to even care for a child. This wasn`t to say her father had been Dad of the Year either. His wife hated her, their kids wanted nothing to do with her. Their house was just a place she stayed until she moved out to go to college. Unlike him her family history wasn`t a mystery, but at times she wished it was.

"Eventually I just want you to look at me without wanting to rip my head off for what I did to you as a stupid kid." Sky admitted with a sigh.

"I`m not going to justify what happened because you won`t listen to me about it anyway."

With that she walked over to a chair in the corner of the room, mostly out of paranoid habit, and turned it to look out the window. Her heart was in her throat and they`d have to work together for who knows how long. It was best they got over at least not being able to speak now. If not it was going to be a very isolated experience. Even if they were going to be diving into someone else`s memories.

"Good. Never expect me to forgive you." He stated coldy continuing to look away from her. Betrayal was one of the things he couldn't stand. She could've just dumped him before anything happened. He would be fine with that. At least he'd still have trust and respect for her. He rolled his eyes as she said they'd have to be adults about this situation. Doesn't matter your age about anything, people will either keep their cool or not, regardless of age. Anything she said made Luca feel slightly more animosity towards her. He didn't know if that feeling would eventually go away or not. Only time would tell at this point.

"You'll get used to this place eventually." He said not playing along with her humor. He wasn't in the right mindset to have any sort of jokes. He knew what she was trying to do. Luca wasn't having it. It wasn't his problem to make her feel more comfortable.

Luca sighed as she continued to talk, "18 is a young adult, you knew full well what you were doing, stop making some stupid excuses." He grew more angry slightly. "That was only 3 years ago. How adult can you become in 3 years?" He didn't have to be in this room. He could just leave her here and have some employee come help her find her way. That sounded better by the second.

Luca was sick and tired of her trying to justify her mistake. 'It's like trying to justify why you murdered your dad. Or something terrible. You murdered my heart, and my pure innocence.' Luca thought. He wanted no part in why she did what she did. He didn't care. Self control is a monumental key to success.

"You're right. I'm not going to listen." He finished. He looked at the door more than half tempted to walk out.

It wasn't like she didn't deserve it, she knew that she did. It didn't make it feel any better though. Three years does change people, college changes people. At the time she knew it was wrong and she had to live with that. Sky was willing to own up to her mistakes and move on. Honestly she knew they'd never have the same relationship aa they did back then. That kind of relationship wasn't what she wanted.

She wanted to at least be able to be in the same room and have the dignity to just leave the past in the past.

Yes she'd cheated, but it never was very far in any regard. She kissed Henry. It wasn't like she'd had sex with him though. Would he listen to her at the time she'd been conflicted about what the hell was going on? No. He left her and never looked back. It'd been three years and he was belittling her out of moving on. "I'm glad you're pissed." Sky turned the chair from the window and got up going up to him until she stood four feet away. "At least now you're actually talking to me."

If he'd look at her he'd see the tears coming to her eyes. All the stuff that had built up inside her, that stuff she'd put behind her was coming back, and she was done.

"18 is young, I had no idea who I really was. The person I was back then is not the kind of person I ever want to be again. What I did to you was awful, I know very well that it was. You don't need to tell me that. You never have to forgive me. I am not the same person as I was back then though. I got my act together as much as I possibly could and struggled to leave the past behind me. It's not fair that you're the only one that can have the dignity to leave the past behind you."

When she was younger she would have stomed out of the room. Left to cry by herself, leave what was hurting her in the other room, but damn it she was an adult now. This is never going to resolve itself. She'd rather him yell at her then stand there and not even look at her. Sky wasn't 18 anymore. She had a place that she called her own. They'd both moved on and now they're doing a project that will mess with them mentally and physically. If this is what this project was going to be like than she wouldn't be able to stay.

"Get angry, yell at me, at least then we'll have an actual conversation about what happened." Sky said more calmly as a tear ran down her cheek.

Luca sighed and eventually looked at her. It wasn't completely his intention to make her feel like shit, but he wanted her to understand sympathy and empathy. Getting into a relationship, you have to understand the other persons feelings. He never understood why you wouldn't just be honest and true.

He just wanted to keep their relationship strictly professional. They had already signed their contracts and there was no point in making each other miserable. He didn't feel like talking about the past. He didn't feel like talking to her or anything about her personal life. Neither did he want to talk about his. He wanted a wall between them. The only things that would come through would be professionalism.

He let out a deep breath, gathering himself and looking at the ground for a second. "I don't want a conversation about what happened. You're either born loyal or you're not." He paused for a moment looking at her, "We both signed contracts, so we can either work together on this or not. I don't really care which one it'll be." He paused a moment, walking towards the window looking outside, "I'm ready for the past to be the past, everything that was, is now gone. Everything that's bad that has transpired in my life is now just dead memories. You're not the only one who has grown since they were 18." He said finishing then looking back at her. "I've got goals to accomplish and things to see and experience. I'm not going to let something miniscule get in my way of my own personal achievements and happiness." Luca now sounded focused and motivated rather than being hurt and alone. "I'm done with the past. You did what you did and there's no taking it back. I'm okay with having fun and joking around with you. If you've been wanting a chance at getting to know the man that I want to become, then you'll get a second chance to see it." He paused walking over back to Sky, "And I will get to see the woman that you've grown into becoming as well." He gave a half smile. Determined but a little hurt from the past. He was more than ready to move on.

"So what do you say? Want to see what the most influential company in the world has in store for us?" He asked sticking his hand out for a handshake.

"You`re either born loyal or not."

That stung her right in the chest. The thought of being thought of as untrustworthy hurt her now. There was no way she`d gain his trust until she redeemed herself it seemed. It was highly unlikely that they`d ever date ever again, but they could at least be friends. With everything going on they kind of are forced to at least tolerate each other. It was going to be a bad time if they didn`t.

Maybe he wasn`t the same as he was before after all. He`d always been a calm person, that much was obvious. There was something different though, she couldn`t place it. He had more confidence, more maturity, ambition. If he was willing to give her a second chance than she wanted to make sure he wouldn`t regret it. Truly Sky felt like she had changed in the past three years. College had turned her into a different person. She wanted to know how he`d changed as well. They were different people. It`d be like getting to know someone all over again.

Using the back of her hand to wipe away the tears, she took a deep breath to compose herself, and used her other hand to shake his. "Let`s do it." A certain fire returned to her eyes, it was rare, but in moments that she truly became determined her eyes almost revealed the intensity behind her emotions. A gate way to the soul is said to be revealed in someone`s eyes. This was a firm belief she held and that`s why she looked him dead in the eyes as she shook his hand.

Taking a deep breath to calm herself even more she felt a little bit less hurt. They were going to have problems but at least now there was a chance to move past them. "So a question, are you staying here as well? They told me this project was too serious to have it`s subjects just out and about. Which honestly should raise more red flags."

This corporation was huge and she had so many questions. He did work for them but that didn`t mean she should interrogate him. The curiosity would have to wait for another time she supposed. Sky honestly was worried about all of this. There was a feeling she couldn`t shake. A feeling that almost felt like she was selling her soul to the devil. This project wasn`t the most safe, but it was safe enough that she plunged head first into it. What did that say about her? What did it say about either of them?

"Yeah, I'm staying on campus." Luca replied motioning her to follow him out of the room, into the hallway of the complex. "This corporation has been good to me, I've got no complaints." He said as they walked down the hall and into the elevator. Quiet gentle ambient music played as he pressed the bottom for the 1st floor. "Yeah, I'm a little concerned. There's some things that kind of make me nervous. The secrecy of it all makes me most nervous about it all." He looked at her as the door closed and the elevator moved down.

His primary concern was to just move on about the past for the moment. Maybe being scarred by it and never moving on could have worse negative effects than just forgiving and letting go. He never understood cheaters, nor did he endorse it, but he understood that it's just sadly part of living till you find someone that won't.

He shrugged off his thoughts and looked down at the floor thinking about what their next move was going to be. He listened to the music for a second, catching his attention. He felt like it was pretty smooth and chill. He looked back at her, "Have you settled in at all or did you just come here to see if you were going to take the job or not?" He asked after a moment. He wanted to know how she's been all this time but he didn't want to bombard her with tons of questions.

"I'm really hoping the secretive part of it all will disappear soon now that we're signed on. It all is kind of exciting though. It's like being a secret agent or something." Sky said with a small grin at the thought. He said this company was good to him. It probably wouldn't be too bad then. The idea of seeing her ancestors life was pretty damn intriguing!

The music calmed her nerves a little as she rocked back and forth on the heels of her converse. This was all a lot to take in. As a child she'd never thought she'd basically sell herself away, then again she never thought she'd kiss someone she wasn't dating either. God, she had been an awful human being! No matter how hard things had been she shouldn't have done that. This being said the idiot should have just talked to her instead of writing a letter about what they were going to do now. If she had been able to just tell him back then, maybe things wouldn't have been so messed up. The past was the past though. It'd stay there until it could just be put behind them.

"I actually came here just to figure out if I would be coming on board. Currently I work with a computer company downtown as a inspector and coder. It feels a bit strange to give up a regular job for something like this. You`re probably going to think I`m nuts but something about all of this seems natural. There isn`t any sense of second thoughts that usually comes with such a change." She probably sounded crazy. The last couple months she had been living a stable life. She lived in a one bedroom apartment 15 minutes away from her job. It was a pretty nice place on the forth floor. The plants that littered the place, along with how she decorated it, made it feel like a comfortable fairytale escape. Every day she went to work and came home, occasionally going out with people. This being said she had moved away from here a year after they broke up. While taking online classes she traveled around the country and few times out of it. Sky met a lot of people along the way but for the most part she`s just been on her own.

It was going to be strange to be constantly around others again.

"How long have you been working here?" She asked looking over at him as the elevator doors slide open.

“I’m sure it will once we begin the project.” He said then continued, “That’s slightly how it’s been so far. Nothing compared to what we’re about to do though.” He said as the elevator came to a halt and the doors opened. “I’ve been working here since I was 21.” He said and looked at her, “Basically as soon as we broke up, I landed this job. It helped me get through everything.” He gave a small smile and took his first step out of the elevator.

“Follow me this way.” He said as he motioned his hands towards the residential side of the campus. As they left the perimeter of the main building, the houses Abstergo Industries provided, grew in size. Luca felt like he had matured a lot since they were together. Young love was something he’d never forget though. Young emotions to him are passionate and out of control. Something he loved and missed. It felt like the older he got, the more everything felt as if it had dimmed with time. It wasn’t necessarily a bad thing to him. He felt more in control of himself as time moved on. Learning about himself and just how to live a life that he could like.

His reminisce was broken as she spoke. “Oh okay.” He nodded as she explained what she was doing. “How do you code things, come here and it feels natural?” He chuckled. “You might just be a little crazy.” He jested as they continued to walk. They neared the neighborhood that Abstergo Industries had built. It was a small suburban area. “Follow me into this house, it’s a show house. It has basic furniture to show you what kind of place you live in while you work here. I’m assuming they did this to help people decide if they want to take the job or not.”

He`s been here awhile then, there must be something great about this place if he`s stayed here over three years. It hurt her to know the pain she put him through. No one deserved the pain that he had gotten. The houses they were going to be living in seemed a bit bland. She`d certainly have to spice the hell out of this place. As much as they`d allow her to do she`d customize it to her liking. With a laugh she walked through the living room of the house into the open floor kitchen. "Oh come now, we both know I`ve always been a bit mad."

Sky said as she looked back at him with a playful smirk before opening the cupboards to examine their depth. "This place is going to look completely different when I`m done with it. Too modern for comfort in my opinion. There`s something about modern designs that just feel so cold." She commented before turning from the stove to look at him. "Do you know if we`re allowed to drill into the walls?"

The idea of moving past everything for her was to act as normal as possible. This meant cutting through the bullshit, acting how crazy she actually was, except showing people that the chaos of her mind was organized. The madness brought upon exceptional ideas, stuff that was out of the box. When he had just met her she was quiet and withdrawn, never really using her voice on things she thought about. When they got close he saw how she really was, how loud she could be. That had changed over the years. She found her voice and used it, damn it if people didn`t like what she`d say.

"Have you already started living here or do you still live elsewhere?" He wasn`t the only one who wanted information on the other. It`s been a long time, she truly wanted to know him. This being said rushing anything found just end in failure.

Luca watched curiously as she walked around the house looking at things. He had forgotten the excitement of getting a new place. “Yeah you can drill holes and things, but you have to replace anything broken or patch any holes you make in the house.” He paused a moment, “Or you can just have them bill you a repair bill.” He said as he shrugged. He listened to her talk about how modern building feel cold, and he agreed. Maybe he was used to older homes, since he was raised in one. The modern design is nice for him though. It didn’t bother him too much. He just made a face at her to acknowledge he was listening to her.

Watching her go about her thing brought back his memories of her when they had been together. It struck up some emotions in him, but it wasn’t anything to drastic. He took in a deep breath and proceeded to listen. “I live right next door. So I guess we’re going to be neighbors.” He shrugged. “If you need some help moving stuff in just let me know. I’ll help you out. Since we’re in this together we might as well try to make it easier on ourselves.”

"Well if I`m going to be here as long as I expect us today it shouldn`t be that bad." Sky said as she walked back over to him. "I appreciate that. It shouldn`t be too much stuff honestly. This place is bigger than my current one. Not sure how I actually feel about that honestly." It was a lot of change in an instant. The mental part of this was already setting in. The physical, well she still had a second before she was living here for who knows how long.

"Do you think it will hurt? The animus I mean." Thought whirled in her mind like a tornado on the subject. They were going to be put into a machine and have their thoughts and genetic code read, it didn`t sound painless. "It is rather intimidating. We`ll be reliving a different age. A time we can only imagine will be at our finger tips, it`s such a strange concept." The silver haired woman walked up to the windows. "I can`t help but wonder if it`s going to hurt. They don`t seem completely confident it`s safe, yet here we are."

She`s never even been to Italy and now she`ll relive a life so long ago right in the middle of Sicily. It was strange to think about. How long would they be in these machines? Would a few days in there be minutes in their present world? What of Sol? What kind of person was her ancestor? Was she like her in any way? So many questions, so many answers to find. The pain was certainly a factor in what it might be, but it was exciting. The life of Sol had an importance just as Luca`s ancestor did as well. They probably wouldn`t be able to talk about their ancestors. Everything was to be kept a secret. "It`s the excitement that outweighs the negative I think."

In all honesty she almost couldn`t wait to find all of it out.

“Yeah we should be here at least a year.” Luca said. He thought it was quite a long time to be committed to something he knows nothing about. She was right about everything. He didn’t know how it felt to be sent into the Animus. “It’s pretty crazy to think about. It is exciting though. I’m not really too worried about it. It’s still basically a beta project. I’m not surprised they don’t feel confident about it yet.” He knew the risks. He was just trying to comfort Sky a little.

After a second of silence he looked at her, “So are you going to go through with this, or do you need some time?” He asked curiously. Luca knew that thoughts were racing through her, he could practically see it.

"No, I`m going to go through with it. There are some things worth taking risks for, this is one of them. Very few people will ever get the chance to do this currently and I want to know my ancestor. Know her time. Who knows, it might give me insight into who I am." She was nervous of course, but this was something she had to do. If she didn`t do it, then she feared she`d regret it her entire life.

The risks of her health were dangerous to say the least. There has always been a guinea pig in history. The first people to go into space were guinea pigs. The first people to discover radio active waste were guinea pigs. They were guinea pigs. There always has to be someone to do it. To take the hit for everyone else. This technology could help the future. Therefore it was important that they did this. People may look at them as engineers of their time centuries from now. Who knows.

"Well I probably should get back to my apartment. I reckon that the first dive will be as soon as we get completely settled, meaning I have a lot of moving to do." Sky said as she turned around to start walking out the door before turning back to him. "Your phone number, is it still the same? You know in case I need to contact you about moving or anything." The more time they spent together the more they`d learn about the last few years. No one ever said it had to be in a day though. The mystery was half the excitement, wasn`t it?

He watched her leave to the door. “Yeah. Yeah… my number is still the same. Okay that’s good to hear that you’re going to go through with it. I realize that I think I’d rather have you than some stranger for my first dive. It’s oddly comforting.” He said giving her a slight smile. “Give me a text as soon as you wake. There will most likely be some kind of brief tomorrow. They know that you’re still moving in but they want to move quickly.” He explained.

He was ready to go home and get tomorrow started. He was excited as much as she was. It’s been years since he’s had his own new journey.

A smirk ghosted her lips, "Tomorrow our lives change forever, whether we like it or not." Her eyes lit up at just the thought as she bite her lip. There was something exhilarating about letting your entire life change. She loved her quiet life, the life that caused time to stop, but it was boring at time. It was the same, she was stuck in time. It was time to break free, grab fate by the reins, and do something with her life before she was married and old awaiting death`s cold embrace.

Sky walked out of the staged house and made her way home. The drive home was uneventful, but her blood was pumping. Hell she was still scared shitless, but this was it. Her life was going to change forever. This was going to be the start of a new metamorphosis. There was one you go through at through high school, college, and into the world. The Animus was going to trigger a different one, she knew it, felt it. They`d never be the same after all of this. "The world might not be the same after all of this."

"Everything will be alright, I`ll learn the secrets of the past. I`ll be fine, Luca will be fine, everyone will be okay." This was what she told herself anyway as she made her way back into her apartment and got ready for bed. Tomorrow she`d have to rent a truck to move all of her stuff. Abstergo Industries would terminate her lease, and she`d live on their grounds along with Luca while the project went on. The job she currently had would be told by Abstergo that she was presented with an opportunity so great that they were doing a service to the industry by letting her join them for the time being. In the meantime she would sleep and wake up in her apartment for the last time. Enjoy her full freedom for the last time in awhile.
