The girl Tempest had been sketching moved out of her range of sight. She decided to finish her drawing later. She tucked her sketchbook back into her bag and got up to get her schedule. She also wanted to say hi to Reimred and Thelma, her favorite counsolers.

She headed up to the table and cut the other campers in line. "Hey, guys." She smiled at the counselors. Thelma smiled at her and then gave her attention back to the girl she was helping.

"Tempest!" Reimred grinned. "I didn't think we'd see you again after what you said last year about being ready to go off on your own."

"Well, my mom had a different opinion. As per usual." Tempest rolled her eyes.

Reimred laughed and passed her her schedule. "Well, welcome back. Your roommate is a newbie this year, I hope you'll help her however you can."

"We'll see." She said and turned, moving away from the table and checking out her schedule. She was placed in Conjuration with Lilac, as per usual, and she saw that the name of her roommate was Emilia Tendo. She knew that most of the newbies were thirteen, and she was less than excited to share a cabin with a little baby preteen for the whole summer. She decided at that moment that she'd probably spend as much time away from the cabin as possible.

She was used to sneaking out anyhow, she knew how to get away with it.

She took a few steps back towards her table before deciding she might as well grab her food while she was up. She moved to stand in line at the buffet.

Emilia Tendo
-- Day One || Morning || The Mess Hall --

Emilia frowned, her expression going sour. There was always checking the Auras of others and making a guess out of that, but she was honestly quite unsure as to if she could use her powers outside of class or not. So that was a no-go. Already out of ideas of what to do, Emilia had been forced to ask one of the counselors for help. She'd rather go a little longer not having to rely on them, but knowing who her roommate was was key to deciding if she would be able to sneak out to check on her brother during the night. Speaking of Fei...

Emilia brought her attention back to the boy sharing a seat with her, his expression changing very little within the past few minutes, except for now, he was staring at other people while they ate their food; a little creepy, but not something Emilia would stop him from doing. Slowly gathering her bearings, the girl slid out of the chair and stood, looking at Fei with a stern look.
"Hold down the fort for me until I come back. Oh, and um, give me your cabin assignment too." She said, taking said items before making her way out and into the swarm of other campers.

Emilia pushed and squeezed past the campers before finally reaching the plastic table his brother was at only minutes ago. Unsure of who to ask for help, the female doll started flailing her arms about and hopping up and down.
"Oi! OI! Do any of you know where Tempest Rosewood or Keegan Christiano are?!" Emilia felt the need to shout in order for her voice to make it over to the counselors clearly. Let's just hope she wouldn't have to repeat herself...

. "Excuse me, but is there a girl named Alice Michigan around here somewhere?"

Alice turned as she heard someone say her name (@shagranoz). She eyed the girl up.Great, another one not chained up.

"Aye, that's me" she said with a cautious tone "why? What do you want?"

Mason arrived a bit late, which was unfortunate, but not surprising. His mother had instilled in him the ideal of fashionable lateness, and since his childhood he had found himself quite incapable of arriving anywhere on time. Even so, he hated to be late as well as both a new camper and one of the oldest there.

His feelings about being at the camp were mixed. He was concerned for how the summer would go, apprehensive about some of the others he would meet. At least some of the campers were real monsters, demons and the like. He'd never really considered himself to be anything of the sort, as he spent most of his time in a human form. Apparently, though, in his mother's infinite wisdom, she'd decided that this was the place for him. He'd have to make it work. At least the girls all looked pretty attractive...

He approached the check-in table and asked the counselor "'Scuse me, d'you have a "Mason Peters" on your list there? I'm a newbie, 17, very single." He smiled charmingly with the last comment.

He took a good look at the girl in front of him. She was shackled. Huh, something weirder could've happened. A girl who was bound up probably wasn't that big of a problem.
"Yeah I'm not shackled. Talking about it...why are you shackled anyway?"

Natalie Mansfield

Natalie looked over the counsellor at the table and listened as she spoke. "My names Natalie". She said, "Natalie Mansfield, if you need my last name". She said and gave her a smile, wondering if they were the same. She wouldn't ask outright though, just in case she wasn't. Natalie looked around the room a couple of times as the counsellor found what she needed, scanning the people's faces and trying to gauge who was going to be her friend, hopefully. She wanted somebody she could have fun with while she was here, hopefully her new friends weren't all sticks in the mud.

Wait a minute, she's... are you freaking kidding me? Molly couldn't believe it. An entire summer with Little Miss Criminal? They might as well kill her now. "Looks like we're going to be bunkmates." The redhead's eyes flashed to Alice's handcuffs. "If it's not too much trouble, mind if I ask what you're in for?"

(to make it easier - I'll combine the two convos!)

@ineffable

"Well apparently...if they release me I might just run away" the girl shrugged "I canny see a reason to run in a country I only came to a month ago. Not even legally able to live here yet - temporary visa. It's to stop me using my powers." Alice shrugged again "what's your story? You don't seem happy to be here either."

As her apparent new bunkmate came over, Alice turned fully to look at her (@shagranoz). Eyeing her up, before grinning.

"Oh wow, I love your hair! Ah, these?" Alice said, her accent clearly scottish as she held up her wrists, the cuffs not actually joined together or to her feet "well, as I told to this guy" she motions to the guy next to them "they think I'm going to run away in a country where I have no legal right to live yet if they take these off. So, I'm cutt off from my powers."

On inspection of the 'bracelet' cuffs, they had some sort of magical ritual written into them.

"I'm not in for anything except learning. Police never caught me. I just did a bit of stealin', never hurt anyone. So, what's your name roomie? "

Reimred noticed the little girl who had to jump to be seen when she started yelling. He leaned over the table to see her more clearly.

"You're looking for Tempest? She's in line over there," He pointed, "She's the one with the pink hair."

He checked the schedules to see if this Keegan had picked his up yet. He hadn't. Reimred turned back to the little girl. "Keegan hasn't been by to pick up his schedule yet, and he's new, so I don't know him. Sorry. I can direct him to you when he does, if you want, or deliver a message. What do you need from him?"

Thelma brightened a little when she heard the girl's name. "You're Natalie Mansfield? I've heard a lot about you from Lilac. I was wondering if you would be willing to speak with me?"

She had been excited to meet this girl, who had been forcibly changed just like Thelma had. Thelma wanted to help her adjust, and she believed that it would help to know that there was someone here who had gone through everything she had. She was really happy this opportunity had arisen. This was the whole reason Thelma had started working here in the first place.

Lilac had finished assisting the camp chefs serve the campers, and now that the line was dwindling she returned to the plastic table to help the other counselors, since this table was sure to be flooded soon and she wanted to get everyone adjusted as soon (and as easily) as possible. She looked up when she was approached by a young boy.

She laughed softly as he gave her his pitch. Sure, he was charming, but Lilac had been dealing with teenage boys like him for the past 200 years.

"Sorry dear, I think you're a little young for me," She shook her head softly and located his schedule. She handed it to him,"Here you are, welcome to camp. I hope you have a great summer here. Please let me or one of the counselors know if you need anything or have any questions."

Natalie nodded softly as she looked down at the seated counseller. "Yeah, thats me". She said, giving a warm smile as she tried to make a good impression. "Yeah, we can talk if you'd like. I hope its all gold things that you've heard about me". She laughed, still quite nervously as she knew it was probably nothing good at all.

Thelma smiled reassuringly, "Don't worry, I didn't hear anything bad about you."

She stood from the table and headed out of the mess hall so that people wouldn't overhear them, stopping just beyond the door and turning to lean on the wall, out of view from the other campers inside and, more importantly, in the shade. She looked at Natalie again.

"I heard that you were turned against your will. I just wanted to tell you that I was, too, so if you ever need anything, I understand what you're going through. I want to help you adjust to this however I can. I know how hard it can be."

"Okay, that explains quite a lot." Molly saw the runes inscribed on Alice's shackles, but didn't recognize them. "So, what sort of powers do you have? Telekinesis? Intangibility? I'm a witch myself, so that means at lot of things, at least in theory. I'm really good at shapechanging, though."

The car shifted ever so slightly as it bobbed and weaved down the old gravel road. Such a strange feeling to be back again, anxiety showing on the boys worried face as he rotated a small blue sapphire his sister had given him in his hands. He was late like usual the driver was not familiar with this area and was barely able to get past the government checkpoint at the beginning of this road. To be fair the gate guard was rather intimidating, saying this camp was for youths who had done something criminally wrong. The driver did look at the boy a bit differently and with a bit of wonder but didn’t say anything about it.

After a little while Torok could tell they were getting closer the brush around the road was beginning to clear out, and he could see some outlaying structures. There were a few campers still around making their way toward orientation, none of whom he recognized. He could feel the car slowly come to a stop, the driver didn’t get out of his car he simply nodded to the boy who got out of the car and handed his duffle bags of clothing and smaller effects off to an employee. He showed the man his Invitation as the driver pulled away, “you’re a little late Mr. Citadel, the others have already started orientation” all the man received in return was a shrug.

Torok was rather large for his age, dwarfing most that stood next to him in both height and stature. He constantly looked a bit dirty and always smelled like the ground or occasionally like a flower. His clothes were quite plain, a green t-shirt and loose fitting blue jeans, but he was not wearing any socks or shoes. Around his neck was a silver chain with a small sapphire stone, roughly the size of a large marble, resting in the middle, the stone and silver metal chain had small pieces of granite interlaced with it. The granite wasn’t for looks it was mostly so Torok could find it if he ever lost it. Along with the necklace small Jasmine vines grew around his neck, the flowers blooming with a strong scent. The flowers were attracting some bees now and then and the smell of Jasmin was his favorite so it did not bother him.

He walked slowly down the concrete path way, he could already hear Lilac giving her opening speech, so he at least knew he didn’t miss much. Slowly he walked up to the main double doors of the Mess hall, the doors were propped open he guessed to allow air flow. Instead of finding a spot to sit as the Fae finished her speech he instead opted to looking around at the others seeing if he recognized any. There were a few familiar faces in the crowd, yet he could not remember their names, he never truly got along with any of them. The last two times he was here he was engulfed by his own problems to bother with anyone else other than the councilors.

He stood there leaning against the door frame watching the others for a time, the innocent smiles and wary looks of the unsure added with the occasional look or frown that said ‘why am I even here’ the first day was always so wired when it came to the emotions of others. He watched as the councilors engaged the others and answered their questions, for whatever reason he couldn’t see Kalliphae among the councilors it was very possible she was just getting food or was lost somewhere in this sea of people. Before he made his way towards the table where they were handing out the schedule’s he noticed one of the councilors, Thelma Ainsley, heading towards him with another student in tow. He knew well enough that whatever it was they were talking about should be private as it is with anyone that is taken aside for a private talk. The boy waited briefly at the door as they walked past and before moving inside placed his hand on the wall, from it grew two tendrils of green vines that snaked and wormed their way quickly over the wall until they were right next to the two girls. There the vines gathered and twisted around each other eventually sprouting two rose buds that bloomed into two large red roses that faced the girls.
@candlelitcraft@BilboTheGreat

Torok didn’t wait to see their reaction, really it was just his way of showing the councilor that he had better control of his ability’s now. He made his way to the plastic table with the other councilors, he did cut in line but only for a moment to grab his packet. No one gripped to him, they may talk bad about him but few ever got the courage to say it to his face or confront him about it he figured it was because he was so big and rarely smiled. The boy was careful with how he walked, here were a few others there that were quite small, and he did not wish to harm them. He nodded towards the two at the table and noticed that his favorite councilor Kalliphae was there, he smiled at her as he picked up his packet. This gesture for some would be quite simple and nothing to take another glance at but for him, this was the first time he smiled while at camp. It didn’t last long though he quickly picked up his packet and walked back outside, he wasn’t hungry and didn’t think too much about conversing with the others. He simply walked out to a patch of grass near the building and sat down, once there he slowly closed his eyes and began to meditate. As he meditated flowers began to sprout around him and bloom, the grass grew taller and thicker, vines and small shrubs grew to partially envelop the boy and wrap around him as he sat there.

Mason winked cheekily at the head counselor, then picked up his packet and walked blithely away, free hand snapping a rhythm as he made his way to a more shady area to read. It wasn't too terribly sunny, but even so, he was more comfortable in the shade. It was a shame that the camp had to happen in the summer, when the sun was fiercest...

Upon examining his packet, he realized that he was at a bit of a disadvantage compared to some of the other campers. While some had been coming to the camp for years, and knew plenty of people to clump up with. His packet told him who he should room with and have classes with, but that was no good if he couldn't put a face to the names.

He read over the packet once more, then decided that, by process of elimination, he should find one of the other boys, as only one of them didn't share a class or cabin with him. He checked outside first, but the only person he saw was so huge, he had to be a counselor. He shook his tawny head in frustration, scowling uncharacteristically. Why the hell did this have to be so hard?

Well. There was only one thing to do. He'd have to admit ignorance, and ask someone. The big fellow outside would have to do. With a deep breath, the gargoyle-shifter stepped into the sunlight. In his human form, it wouldn't physically harm him much, but it wasn't comfortable, even with his coat.

"Excuse me, big guy. Hate to interrupt your meditation or what-have-you, but you look like you might know your way around. I'm new here, see, and I figured I should ask a counselor such as yourself about who these folks on my sheet here are." He extended his free hand to shake, adding "I'm Mason, by the way. I'm looking for a Torok, Natalie, or Keegan. Do you know any of them?"

Natalie followed Thelma out of the mess hall, walking around and in between other campers as she followed her out. She stood by the door as Thelma leaned against the wall, then she moved to stand in front of the counsellor but made sure she was still in the shade. Natalie's eyes lit up a little as she listened. She wasn't completely alone in what she had been through. Thank god.

"I really appreciate that". She said, giving a smile to the woman as she moved a bit further into the shade, before continuing. "Like, a lot. Thank you. And actually, I do have a couple of questions if you can spare the time?" She asked, just as two roses began to grow from vines coming through the wall. Natalie raised her eyebrow as she reached out to pick one.

"You wanna know me secrets, eh?" Alice grinned more at that "and a witch as well! Tell yah what, once I get these bloody things off me, I'll show you. I'm pretty much the last of me kind, so no spoilers sadly."

She leaned in to whisper into Mollys ear "You're a witch, can't you break these? I'll make it worth your while" with a wink as she leaned back.

She looked at the roses that bloomed and smiled softly. "Torok must be here. This shows a lot of control. Good for him."

She turned back to Natalie, glad that she seemed to have given her some peace of mind. "I have time for any questions. Fire away."
