(Because I like this opening. Lol.)

Sun 4/8 – Morning – Bus

A silver haired teen sat on the bus, his younger brother, Ishidaiku, behind him in another seat, playing with an old wooden yoyo and listening to music on his smart phone. Kaze, the silver haired boy looked at his phone as a pi pi noise drew his attention. It was a text from a number he didn’t recognize, nor could he tell as the number was actually a jumble of punctuation and other images. The text read “Looking to make a better life?” followed by a URL. He thought nothing of it and deleted the text. He then looked at the purple haired girl, Misaki, that had gotten on a few stops ago, now asleep. He had spoken to her and traded information, as she was a country girl moving to the big city. He was doing the opposite. The girl had the idea that the two could email each other to help the other get used to their new surroundings. He then recalled a website that she had told him about. Supposedly it was an urban legend, but the website would find you and have you write your greatest wishes on it and submit, even if you didn’t want to.
Misaki swore that it happened to her, and the “greatest wish” she had was to make plenty of friends. He thought it was silly, but didn’t badger her about it. Suddenly his phone made the pi pi noise once more, and he looked to see that his phone was on the internet, a message saying “thank you” with a snake wrapped around it appeared. He tried to go to the last page to see what he had done, but an error appeared that stated that the page didn’t exist. He dismissed it and closed his phone. Another 3 hours to go. Ugh. Well, Misaki has the right idea, he thought. He turned around and asked his brother to wake him when they arrived. He then began to sleep.

Sun 4/8 - ??? - ???

Kaze had quickly fallen asleep, but began to awake when he heard the faint tones of a piano. His eyes remained closed as he sat. Faintly he heard a man’s voice begin speaking, almost in reassurance to itself.
”Alright, got it. Persona Persona Persona Persona. Social Link Social Link Social Link.” it said, shuffling paper around.
Kaze was genuinely curious what was going on now and opened his eyes. He blinked once, twice, five times before his eyes finally adjusted to the rooms light. The first thing he noticed was the man sitting at across from him at a table. The man was lightly hunched with a nose like a pig’s. The next thing he noticed was the strange blue café setting he now sat in. Flanking the pig nosed man were a boy and a girl, twins that were maybe 10 years old at most. The boy wore a Deep Blue school uniform with a domed cap, and the girl wore a sailor uniform the same shade of Deep Blue with a Black skirt. On her head was a rounded Sun Hat. A number of other characters were in various places throughout the Café, but before he could take them in, the Pig nosed man spoke.
“Ah, you’re awake. Welcome to the Velvet Room, a room between matter and dream. You are a guest and only certain people bound by a contract are allowed in here.” The man said. Kaze attempted to open his mouth, but the man continued.
“My name is Quasimodo, and I am glad to make your acquaintance. Now, what is your name?”
“uh… Sh-shison Kaze.” Kaze said still confused.
“Now,” Quasimodo said as he got out a small hand book, and read through it. “Let’s do a card reading. You believe in Fourtune Telling, no?
“Actually –“ Kaze began, again being cut off.
“Alright, let me see here,” he said as he pulled out a deck of cards and the same handbook before putting it back on the table and shuffling the deck, then placing them on the table spread out, ”Pick three…”
Kaze looked confused at the cards, but was given a nod by the twins that seemed to reassure him. He chose the three, and the rest were shuffled into the deck. Quasimodo began to flip them one by one, the first having a picture of a tower upside down, and the second having a moon, the final card a man with a packstick.
“Hmm… I think this deck is rigged. Anyways, the tower means calamity on the way. The moon card represents "hesitation" and "mystery". So, something will happen… a mystery, some kind of misfortune or something, and a mystery that will need to be solved. I believe I’m reading that right. The last one, the fool, is a blank slate. Think of it as a joker in a normal deck.”
The girl twin pulled on the man’s sleeve, [00aeef] “Sir, you didn’t quite do it right.” She said.
The boy twin chimed in after, [00aeef] “Well, you got the reading right, just not the delivery.” he said.
“He got the gist of it, give me a break, it’s only my 3rd reading ever. Oh, I almost forgot to introduce you two,” he began, before pulling them in closely. “These two precious children are my assistants, they live here, like most of the rest of us.”
”I’m Ploutos.” the boy said, “and I’m Sophia.” the girl said, “reporting for duty.” The two chimed in together. “We’ll be here to help you through your journey.”
Suddenly, a small timer with a depiction of some kind of cartoon devil went off on the table.
“Oh, our time is up for now. But don’t worry, we’ll see each other again real soon. Bye-bye now.” Quasimodo said as he smiled and waved goodbye to Kaze, the room beginning to blacken as sleep hit Kaze’s eyes once more.

4/8 – Afternoon - Hinasho Bus Station

”Bro. Bro wake up! We’re here!”
Kaze woke up with a start and was met by his brother’s face two inches from his own.
“Woah! Watch it.” Ishidaiku said dodging his brother.
“Sorry, I had a strange dream and you startled me.” Kaze said.
“Oh, Kaze. Is this your stop? I’ll be fifty miles down the road, so we might be able to hang out during the breaks. I have your email, you have mine, email me.” the Purple Haired Misaki said seeming to just be waking up herself.
”Count on it. Later Misaki-san.” Kaze said as he gathered his stuff and left the bus with his brother. They stood outside as the bus pulled off.
{color=630460] “Kaze got a girlfriend, kaze got a girlfriend.” Ishidaiku said while pulling some yoyo tricks.
Kaze simply scoffed and checked his phone, a text saying “We’ll be there around 4PM.” from his aunt. Kaze leaned against the wall momentarily, while texting back “We’re here.” upon sending it, he saw a purple SUV pull up and park. A tall well-endowed blonde woman wearing skinny jeans and an orange cleavage revealing top stepped out.
“Oh, Kaze-kun! I can’t believe how much you’ve grown! I haven’t seen you since I changed your diapers.” the woman said running over and giving Kaze a surprisingly strong suffocating hug.
“A-aunt Ch-chizuru. You’re crushing me.” Kaze said.
“Oh,” she said releasing him. ”Sorry about that.”
She then noticed the younger brother standing a few feet from her.
“Oh, and this must be Ishi-chan!” she said going in for a hug, but stopping a ruffling his brown hair. “You must be no older than 10. Your cousin is a couple years younger than you, so you might be able to get along.” She said as she waved for someone to come over from the car. The door opened and a small brown ponytailed girl stepped out, peeking around it shyly.
“H-hi.” the girl said.
”C’mon Sakura. Meet your cousins.” Chizuru said. The girl stepped out and slowly walked over to them, keeping eye contact with the ground.
”Nice to meet you Sakura-chan.” Kaze said offering his hand to the girl. Sakura slowly reached for the hand, tapped it, and then receded behind her mother again. Her mother laughed.
”Don’t worry about Sakura. She’s shy around new people. Let’s grab your bags and get home. Maybe I can show you the sights as we go.” Chizuru said as she grabbed one of the many bags. Kaze, Chizuru, and Ishidaiku quickly packed the car, hopped in, and headed back to town.
-----------------------------------------------------------
The ride was nice, around ten minutes until town finally showed. Chizuru talked about the various things that he could do around town, even though it was small, she made it sound like it was hustling and bustling.
”I have to know about stuff like this, I run a little tourist tower where people can overlook the town and see all the ~Haunted Happenings~” she said, the last part trying to use a foreboding voice.
Ishidaiku looked startled for a moment, “Haunted?”
”It’s just superstition. But it gets us lots of business.” Chizuru said laughing. A gas station showed up on the left of the road with a man sitting at a table near it.
”Oh, there’s Batou-san, a vender from the city. I’m going to stop by here and see if he has anything for Sakura. She loves Sentai.”
Sakura began blushing heavily from the comment. Kaze reassured her it was okay, and that he actually enjoyed them too. The comment seemed to cheer her up. The car then pulled in and the group got out. Ishi chose to go inside and use part of his small allowance on a snack. Chizuru took Sakura to the table of figurines and dvds before turning back towards Kaze.
”Oh, your parents told me you’re kind of religious or something right? Well there’s an old shrine up that path. No one’s been there for years, but the spirits still go when praised,… Or something like that.”
Kaze nodded and went up to the Torri gates. After a small dirt trail, he managed to find the shrine. He knelt in prayer for the safe travel and for the upcoming year. However, a sound of fabric drew his attention and he looked up, a Shrine Maiden coming from behind it. She was a very plain girl.
“Hi, I haven’t seen you around before. Of course, I haven’t seen anyone in quite a while. The Shrine’s not very popular these days you see.”
Kaze nodded, a knowing look on his face.
”Yeah, I know the feeling. In the city, there aren’t many practitioners anymore either.”
“Oh, you’re from the big city? It’ll probably be pretty boring around here for you then. Blessings to you for the upcoming year.” She said grasping Kaze’s hands for a short prayer, and then releasing him. “If you ever want to come support the Shrine, stop by. I’ve gotta get going for practice.”
Kaze nodded as the girl took off. It was brief, but he did get to do a prayer of thanks. He headed back towards the van, and began to feel queasy, and clammy. Hopefully he hadn’t caught anything from the bus.
”Ready to go? Sakura got her fill today.”
”Yeah.” Kaze said as he got in and tried to shake off the feeling.

4/8 –Evening – Tsukashima residence

The rest of the ride allowed Kaze to see the local mall, the down town area, and finally a residential area. He was not feeling well at all though.
”Hey, you don’t look well. You should probably head straight to bed. I don’t want you missing your first day tomorrow.” Chizuru told him as the family unpacked the car. Kaze nodded, and was quickly show to his Futon.

"..."

"...a..."

"..."

"...an...a..."

"..."

"Ka...Kan...a...KANNA, GET YOUR BUTT DOWN HERE ALREADY!"

The teen's navy blue eyes slowly fluttered open, his expression mostly listless if it wasn't for he drool that peaked from the corner of his mouth. Other than the occasional blink, the boy remained motionless as his eyes looked around the room.
"Good Morning..." Kanna mumbled, as he was now facing the well-kept bed on the other side of the room. That's right...it was the last day of break. Not that it mattered anyways. Just like how he spent every other day of his break going to the gym to work on his gymnastics, he was going to do the same today. He usually went in the afternoon and didn't come back until the later night, but with school and everything, he would probably have to leave early to prepare.

Furrowing his brows, Kanna sat up, his bedhead being nothing too different from his normal hairstyle, and wrapped the blanket loosely around his body. He stood slowly, his legs shaking ever so slightly due to all of the exercise, and moved out of his room and towards the stairs; he had opted on getting some food first before freshening up. Each step the preteen took was slow and heavy, but sooner or later, he reached the kitchen, where his Aunt had been calling him.
"What the heck took you so long, kiddo? Liven up! It's your last day of freedom!" The brown haired woman grinned as she looked at Kanna, only to roll her eyes as he sat down. "What did I tell you about bringing your bed covers downstairs?"
"...Sorry..." The white haired boy mumbled as he rubbed his eyes slowly before looking down at the waffles that were placed in front of him.
"What's wrong? Rough night? Wanna talk about it?" The woman question as she leaned forward curiously, placing an elbow on the table to rest her head.

Kanna stared, almost bored at his waffles before he started to eat, only shaking his head to his Aunt's final question. Whenever he had nightmares, he never spoke up about them, resulting in his aunt always having to ask how everything was. It was annoying at times, but always nice to hear that she still cares about him just as much as she did back in the day.
"Alright, alright. I won't pry. But something also came in the mail for you. I didn't open it, promise. When you're done eating, you should probably take a look at it." She responded as she stood from her seat and moved over to the sink to clean up all the pans and cups she used to make the waffles.

The silver haired boy waited until the woman was completely engrossed in her dish washing before he looked down at the letter curiously. He never got mail before so he couldn't help but be a little bit excited as to what it entails. Kanna hurriedly finished his waffles, before snatching the letter from the table and hurrying upstairs.

The boy plopped himself on his bead, thus spreading his blanket back on the bed, now staring at the sealed envelope with the utmost curiosity. There didn't seem to be any return address...just Kanna's own name; it must have been dropped in the mailbox.
"...Weird." He frowned as he slowly opened the letter and opened up the contents. His eyes skimmed through the words, and from what he could get, there would be a new transfer student and they wanted to take him to the haunted house to prank him and see what he was made of. "...More like hazing if you ask me." Kanna shuddered, glad that he's lived here this whole life. But just because he has, doesn't mean that he's not scared of the haunted house. The silver haired boy frowned, as he would rather not attend, but he felt the need to in case something bad happened and the transfer student need help or something...not that he could be reliable in helping someone else...

-- April 8th, xxxx || Afternoon || Gym --
"I'm heading out. I'll be back later."
"Make sure to comeback before it gets dark!" Kanna shut the front door slowly before he headed out, jogging down the sidewalk and towards the gyms that was only but a few blocks away.

Upon arriving, he couldn't help but notice how little people were there; maybe because school was tomorrow? Oh well, let people meant more space for Kanna.

After bit of stretching, the boy began working on a few improvised routines. From handstands, to back handsprings, Kanna moved swiftly and with little strain as lately, his left arm has been giving him some pain. He could only hope he doesn't do anything crazy tomorrow to give his arm a rest.

Just as fast as he arrived, it was already getting dark outside. Time to head home and get at least a little bit of sleep...

-- April 8th, xxxx || Evening || Home --
Kanna laid in his bed, all of the lights turn off. He left himself at the mercy of his own thoughts, closing his eyes soon after.
"Good Night, Brother.."

April 9th - ???

Kaze began in a dream in surrounded by a myriad of shadows. A beam of light shone in the distance which he quickly began making his way towards.
“Come, O noble soul. Seek me if you wish.” A voice said.
Kaze continued to approach the light.
“For the truth shall shine from the abyss like a beacon.”
Kaze approached the figure, unable to make out his appearance due to the blinding light.
“Allow me to test your strength!” It called as a large hand grasped Kaze’s head and squeezed hard.

April 9th – Tsukushima Residence – Morning

Kaze awoke with a start, grasping at his face before being relieved that he was not being crushed. He started to slump back down below the sheets before the door opened loudly.
“Wake up! It’s time for your first day of School!” Chizuru yelled happily into the room, startling both boys awake.
”Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t think that would scare you two city boys.” Their aunt said before laughing and retreating to the kitchen. ”Breakfast is already on the table.”
The boys quickly got up and ready before stepping out for breakfast.
--------
“Good, you’re dressed.” Chizuru said from a seat at the table, Sakura eating an egg sandwich next to her. “Sakura can point you towards the Highschool once she and Ishi-chan make it to school.”
Kaze asked her why she couldn’t drive them.
“Oh, I forgot to tell you. I’m late for my shift at the Tourist Tower. I can’t just close that place down you know.” She said laughing to herself before grabbing her purse and keys. “Don’t be late now.” She said before leaving.
Kaze and Ishidaiku sat at the table and began eating their own breakfast. It seemed to be a western recipe. Kaze stopped when he noticed that Sakura looked sad. He then asked her what is wrong.
“Nothing. I’m used to this. Mom always has to leave early, so usually I get dropped off early. But mom told me to show you guys where the school is.” Sakura said slowly.
“Would you like us to hurry?” Kaze asked, taking another bite.
“No, it s’okay. I was just wanting to talk to a friend that borrowed a DVD of mine. But I can wait till lunch.” Sakura said before looking towards the clock. “We should hurry though. It won’t be long before school starts.”
The three quickly finished up and headed out of the house.

4/9 – River Park – Morning

The trio headed towards school, several other children of varying age went the same direction. A boy with bright red hair zipped by on his bicycle, a pair of headphones on his head. He weaved between the people effortlessly.
“He has the same uniform as you.” Sakura said. “I wonder if he’s in your class.”
Kaze wondered that too. It wasn’t long before they reached Sakura’s school, and she pointed Kaze up a small road and to the left. It was a steady uphill climb.

4/9 – Hinasho High – Morning

Kaze approached the front gate, and saw the boy from earlier battling with a bike lock that didn’t want to work. He noticed several other people in the yard, including a girl with a red scarf… in spring time… Odd…

Kanna Watanabe
-- April 9th, xxxx || Morning || Home --

Kanna's alarm clock blared without remorse, causing the pale teen to practically jump out of his bed and land on the wooden floor with a thud. Too tired to process the pain coming from his bottom and back, the boy reached over and slowly turned off the alarm before placing it back on the ground. Thankfully his aunt was never home in the morning, so he was aloud to be as loud as he wanted so long as it didn't disturb the neighbors.

He had no time to waste though, as the first day of school was upon him. It also meant that the hazing of of the transfer was happening too...unfortunately for him, Kanna wouldn't know who this person was unless he decided to actually go so... Rubbing the sleep out of his eyes, Kanna slowly stood, rubbed his still aching arm from yesterday and proceeded to get ready for school.

Kanna did all the necessities; brushing his teeth, taking a shower, somewhat fixing his hair, etc. When he finally left his room for the second time (the first time was to the bathroom), Kanna emerged, dressed in his school uniform. He opted out of the dress shirt for a white hoodie, assuming that the staff wouldn't mind since he a whole year younger than everyone in the entire school, and that he was a new student; skipping third grade had done wonders for getting away with things. He also made sure he had his most prized possession on him just in case he needed some moral support.

The white haired boy hurried downstairs and to the kitchen, snatching a bagel and a water bottle before making his way out the door. He was already running late as it is, and Kanna'd rather not make it worse. Making his way over to the side of the house, Kanna grabbed his navy blue scooter and headed out.

-- April 9th, xxxx || Morning || River Park --

Kanna cruised leisurely, occasionally taking a bite out of his bagel and a brief sip of water, but never forgetting to keep his eyes on the road. He could see other students walking in the same direction he was going, but paid no serious mind to them other than making sure he didn't run anyone over. A good portion of them were wearing the same school uniform as him. He could only wonder if any of them were first years like him.

-- April 9th, xxxx || Morning || Hinasho High --
The school was a lot bigger than Kanna had expected. Yeah, he's passed by the place multiple times, but he's never been this close to it. Starting to feel the butterflies in his stomach, and a little too distracted by the large school, Kanna 'scootered' right into a taller figure that was also approaching the gate. This collision resulted with Kanna on the ground, rubbing his sore arm, and his scooter laying beside him.
"A-Ah..." Kanna cursed himself for his shaky voice, his expression turning bitter in the process before looking back at the silver haired boy, possibly a second year? It wasn't like it mattered wither way, he had to be his senpai. "S-Sorry Senpai..." He mumbled, hoping the other wasn't seriously injured by the collision. He did note that some of the students walking past them were chuckling as his blunder. Kanna wished his brother was here so that he could wipe those smirks right off their faces. And just the though of the other brought Kanna's mood down as he slowly pulling himself and his scooter back up, awaiting if the other was okay as well.

4/9 – Hinasho High School Gates – Morning

Kaze was suddenly bumped into roughly. He managed to catch himself without falling, but nearly ate it. Kaze turned around curious as to who or what had attacked him, only to be greeted by a white haired boy.
"A-Ah..." The boy started before coming up with an actual reply. "S-Sorry Senpai..." The boy said beginning to stand up. Kaze moved to assist, but the boy seemed to recover quite quickly.
“Oh, it’s alright. Are you okay?” Kaze asked
Kaze wanted to get to know the student but was cut short by the sound of the school’s bell. A wave of bodies began making their way into the building, and Kaze was swept away with them.
Inside he quickly made his way to the 2nd floor, he entered the room and saw that others were seating already. The teacher had already arrived as well, a tall pale man with a long nose. He seemed to have this serious aura about him, almost deathly.
“Hmm? You look new. You the transfer student?” He asked. His voice was very befitting of his slender appearance.
“Yes Sir.” Kaze replied.
“Good. I’m Muneshige Takamine” He paused momentarily, making a gesture to stay put. He waited until everyone was seated and then continued.
“Everyone, this is the Transfer Student. Introduce Yourself.” He told Kaze gruffly.
Kaze nodded and bowed slightly “I am Kaze Shison. Nice to meet you all.”
Some of the students began chatting with each other, but a stern look from Mr. Takamine silenced most of them.
“Go ahead and take a seat next to Akamura.” He said pointing to a red haired boy, a seat next to him.
Kaze quickly sat before Mr Takamine began speaking about his plans for the school year and what they would learn.

Kanna Watanabe
-- April 9th, xxxx || Morning || Hinasho High --

Kanna nodded quickly when the other asked if he was okay. Heck, it should be him that should have asked him if he alright for almost getting run over, but before he could even say anything else, the both of them were whisked away by a swarm of students trying to get to class. It was unfortunate that Kanna couldn't fully apologize for what he did, but there was always another time. Clutching his arm and scooter tightly to his chest, Kanna let the wave of students overtake him, practically taking him to his classroom with the utmost swiftness.

He didn't mean to bring his scooter inside, he really didn't, but thankfully it could clasp into itself, making it easy to hide in his desk. Taking a seat in the back of the class and doing such to avoid getting in trouble, Kanna watched in silence as the other students began to fill up the room. A few of them he recognized from school unfortunately, while other were complete strangers. One of them even walked up to him while the others were still getting situated.
"Yo, Kotaro! What's up man?" He chimed, holding out a hand. Eyes twitching in annoyance, Kanna smiled faintly as he reached out and met the other's hand halfway through. He was use to it, everyone believing that he's his brother, mixing up their names, all of it. He thought that in high school he wouldn't have to worry about that but...yeah. It got to the point, where he doesn't even correct them anymore.
"Nothing much. Spent a lot of time at the gym." He responded, despite the sick feeling in his stomach telling him not to. And it wasn't just the normal butterflies he would get when he lied. It was more of the 'I'm seriously about to puke up my breakfast' kind of feeling. Fortunately he could hold it down.
"That's what's up my man. Gotta stay rip for the ladies." The other boy laughed which prompted Kanna to do the same, albeit much more halfheartedly. Thankfully, the teach arrived just in time so that he wouldn't have to make some halfassed response. "Talk to you later dude." Kanna nodded slowly as his attention in class slowly moved to the window and up at the sky.

-- April 9th, xxxx || Lunch || Hinasho High --

Finally, it was lunch time, a time where he could get away from anyone that already knew him and just relax. However, unfortunately for him, he forgot his boxed lunch at home so he had no choice but to buy some lunch or starve. Making extra sure that his scooter wouldn't be noticeable to the naked eye, Kanna stuck his hand into his pants pockets first, then his hoodie pocket, and lastly the only other place he would have it, his breast pocket...only to realize he was completely broke.

Almost wanting to cry at that point, Kanna lowered his head in defeat before standing up and walking out of the classroom, heading down the steps soon after. Where were they...where were they...ah, there they were. Kanna moved into a brisk jog in order to catch up with the carts blocking a portion of the hallways and the staff pushing said carts.
"Uh...e-excuse me!" The white haired boy called out, slowing down to a stop once he caught up.
"Yes? Can we help you? If you're waiting for a meal then you must return to your classroom before we can serve you." The female with short black hair informed him. Shaking his head ever so slightly, Kanna continued.
"No, no, I wanted to know if I could help and waive a meal." He explained, a small smile forming on his face. He use to do the same thing with his brother all the time; sometimes they would even purposefully forget to pack lunches so that they could see who was the better server. The woman nodded slowly in understanding before handing the boy an apron and letting him hold the cart she was originally pushing.
"We appreciate the help. Now, we've already served the third years, now on to the second years." Kanna nodded slowly as he pushed the cart along with ease.

Kanna went from room to room with the black haired woman, serving lunches and pushing the cart to and fro. Kanna hadn't really been paying attention to the people he was interacting with, as most just called him cute and sweet for helping out, in which he had no response for. It was when he got to the second to last second year classroom, that Kanna had to do a double take.

It was that guy from the before, the one he almost ran into. With Kanna now blushing up to his ears, he couldn't hide the nervousness that had disappeared ever since he left the classroom. What if he recognized him and called him out? Or made a big deal about the situation like before? Visible panic showing in his eyes, Kanna quickly served those who wanted meals, only freezing when he got to the other boy, unable to ask if he wanted a meal or not.

Ayasa Koutetsu
-- April 9th, xxxx || Morning || Koutetsu Residence --

Unlike most of her peers, Ayasa found herself awake before the trolling of her alarm clock had a chance to stir her from her sleep. Ayasa was instead lost in the throes of studying some material for the year ahead. It didn’t do well to rest on one's laurel's after all. Much to her displeasure, her morning study session was interrupted by the call of her alarm clock to indicate it was time to start preparing for school. A sigh left Ayasa as she got up from her desk and began her morning routine. A shower, applying some makeup, tying up her hair in a ponytail and eating some breakfast. Both of Ayasa’s parents worked in the nearby city for some large companies that she was never particularly interested in hearing about, and so they had gotten up and departed before even Ayasa was awake. Being the dutiful and well-mannered daughter that she was she made sure to clean up the kitchen and ensure that the preparation for this evenings meal was ready before heading out to school herself.

Packing her schoolbag with the essential school supplies; all of the reading material required, some additional books, her lunch and some snacks. Ayasa had little time for distractions but she couldn’t help but notice a strange feeling the air. Was it excitement? Maybe sickness? She couldn’t quite place her finger on it but she knew she felt different somehow. Still, it was hardly enough to keep her away from school. Ayasa headed out of the door and made her way to school.

-- April 9th, xxxx || Morning || River Park --

Making her way to school was rarely a journey alone for Ayasa, she often had the company of her two friends Ai and Mio.

“Aya! Wait up! Don’t walk so fast.”

“I’m not walking fast Mio, maybe you shouldn’t be so slow.”

“Hey, no fair!”

“It’s true Mio, you’re always the one trailing behind.”

“Boooo, you guys are the worst! I’m not walking to school with you two anymore.”

The three girls giggled as they made their way to school. Walking down the river bank on the way to school; many other students making their way hurriedly. Some students walked with friends, some made their way to school on their own. The girl continued to gossip about idle unimportant things before they eventually reached the school gates.

-- April 9th, xxxx || Morning || Hinasho High --

Arriving at the school gates after a good morning catch up was always the best way to start the day in Ayasa’s opinion. She saw the bodies of various students file into the building. She could see students bumping into each other and catching up with classmates as they all made their way into the building. Making her own way in Ayasa quickly said goodbye to her friends and made her way to her classroom.
Nothing overwhelmingly interesting happened during the morning class. Like most diligent students Ayasa spent the morning focusing intently on the lectures of her teachers and on her studies. She worked hard to maintain her exceptional grades after all. Thankfully she was familiar with most of the material that was being worked over and the morning phased past rather quickly.

-- April 9th, xxxx || Lunch || Hinasho High --

Even studious Ayasa was glad for a break when lunch time finally came to break up the day, as her classmates began to get out of their seats and rearrange in order to sit with their friends Ayasa herself made her way over to Ai’s desk. The girls had a habit of enjoying their lunch together often as Mio asked Ai and Ayasa to explain what actually happened during their morning class. It wasn’t that Mio was stupid per say, but she certainly lent herself more to creative pursuits and her poor memory certainly wasn’t doing her cause any favours. However, today’s lunchtime was instead populated by the talk of Mio’s latest crush; a handsome boy in the year below. All the talking quickly left Ayasa thirsty and she realised she’d forgot to bring a drink to wash her lunch down with, excusing herself, Ayasa made her way out of her classroom and towards one of the vending machines in the hallway. She paused in front of it as she mulled the selection of drinks.

4/9 – Moki-Moki residence – Morning

Another night had been spent wasted fiddling among cursed tomes and suspicious artifacts, yet to no avail. The creatures of the night hadn't answered her call, and she was seriously considering going to the local graveyard. At least there she could make contact with the undead, as dry and mundane as it was. Talking to the spirits alone was not enough - she wanted nothing more than to be able to feel their presence completely. Then they wouldn't call her a lunatic; then she could prove to them she was telling the tru-

Her morning alarm from her phone interrupted her train of thought. Though she was angry at the disruptive noise, she knew she couldn't get too annoyed, lest she break the thing like she had done a few months earlier. Swiping the screen to tell it she was up, she turned off the device and pocketed it. It's vibrations, however, caused her to bring it back out.

'A text from Issei...?'

Her fellow cult addict, Issei, had sent her a good-morning text. This was something Koi had come to expect of the young man, as he was quite profusely interested in the dark arts. Strange, considering his total lack of knowledge on the subject, but nonetheless it made Koi feel wanted. She didn't particularly mind his company, seeing as he was funny, though wished he had a bit more focus in times of importance.

'Morning, Koi! Just wondering if you'll be at the clubroom tomorrow? Since you can't come today and all that.'

Koi's response was simple: 'I will be there tomorrow. I hope you're willing to learn this time. I need to get ready. I'll talk to you another time.'

Issei sent a thumbs-up emoji, and the two left it at that. Koi could smell pancakes from the bottom floor of her house. Mother was likely trying to cook again. She sighed and went downstairs, after getting dressed.

The rest of the morning was as it usually went: She and her mother didn't exchange too many words, with her mother being the forward person. She ate at her own pace and watched the news from the table. Not particularly bad weather in the evening, which would be good as it meant she wouldn't have to worry about getting pissed on visiting the therapist or graveyard. She'd grown less anxious around the therapist as of late, yet still wouldn't let her guard down completely. The amusing older lady brought a peaceful aura wherever she went, and didn't show any type of malice or resentment. At least not yet. It was her job, after all, to make Koi feel better about herself.

Pretty soon it was time to leave. Koi made the last finishing touches, doing up her hair and adjusting her uniform, before she left home with her mother. The drive to the school wasn't particularly bad, however she did wish her mother would stop driving as though she wanted to get in a car accident...

4/9 – Hinasho High – Morning

She kissed her mother and waved goodbye. Building ahead, head set to the floor, ears drowning away the everyday talk of students. Her headphones and music served as the gateway from her ears to the outside world, and that gate was shut right up until homeroom was about to begin. She covered her ears right up until everyone was silent, the sign that the teacher had walked in. Finally, Koi straightened out and let her hands fall, resting under the desk like any other student.

She didn't expect the new student, however. He appeared simple, nothing particularly to note about him save for his hair. An albino? On closer inspection it was a possibility, however she chose to dismiss her own criticism for now. Something more important swiftly caught her attention:

He would be sitting next to her.

Directly in-between Akamura and herself. This, Koi was not happy about. She liked her seclusion - it meant less idiots to deal with. If he decided to get friendly with her, she likely wouldn't be able to contain her annoyance. Thankfully, the young man took his seat and didn't say a word. If he knew what was best for him, then he wouldn't talk to her. He'd only make fun of her once he learned the truth, anyways.

4/9 – Hinasho High – Lunch

Maki-Maki immediately stood at the lunchtime bell, bag in hand as she left the classroom, not saying a word to anyone. She hated sitting in class with everyone else. They were always so noisy. And like the rule-breaker she was sometimes attributed to, Koi made her way to the stairway leading to the roof and went up. Her own little place lay at the top set of stairs, next to the door leading to the roof. It was a nice and private location, and kept her away from those who would take another step further than her and open the door to the roof. She didn't trust those people, however the two parties made the unspoken agreement to not speak of each other's involvement on the roof. And so far, she and the other group had upheld that agreement.

Lunch was standard. Rice, a couple vegetables, and some bits of beef here and there. Not the most ambitious she had made, but it did it's job and filled her up nicely. As she felt the growing thirst build up within her, she decided to head back downstairs in order to find the nearby vending machine for drinks. Unfortunately for Koi, there was someone there who appeared to be taking their sweet time. She sighed and near-silently crept up behind the woman.

"If you do not know what to order, shall I order for you?" Though this could be proposed as a means of wanting to engage in conversation, Koi just really wanted her drink, and wasn't about to wait five and a half years to receive it. The blonde seemed not quite like most people, however, though the feeling was very vague. "Or will you be taking your time with this selection?"

Oh. It was the boy from earlier. He seemed to be serving the lunch. Perhaps he had no money? Either way, this gave him a chance to apologize for being in the way and seeing if he was alright.
"Oh, hey, I remember you. From this morning. Sorry about being in your way. I'm Kaze Shison, I just transferred here. You weren't hurt were you?" He paused momentarily for the boy's answer, but was quickly pushed along.
"I guess we'll have to talk later." he said, sitting down to eat. As he did, the red haired boy from the morning sat beside him.
"Hey, you're the new guy right? I'm surprised not alot of people are swarming you today." he said.
"Umm. What do you mean?
"I was the transfer student once too, ya know. Everyone had tons of questions about the city. Maybe because we get so many tourists now adays."
The boy took a large bite of his food before continuing.
"By the way, I'm Shun Akamura. I was asked by one of the teachers to keep an eye on you. Hey, after school maybe I can walk you around town, show you the sights, meet some people, you know stuff like that."
Well that would be helpful. Kaze had gotten sick yesterday so it would help him out to know the layout of the town.
Sure." Kaze answered.
"Great. After school I'll be waiting by the gates, so come get me when you are ready."
Shun then quickly gobbled his meal and walked off to talk to a female student in the hall, but he couldn't make out what was being said.

"He bought it. You don't think this will be too harsh do you?"
"Nah, he'll be fine. I'll tell everyone else. I've got walkie-talkies hidden in everyone's desks."
"You really are a ninja huh?"

4-9 - Hinasho High - After School
The rest of the day went by quickly, nothing eventful happening. Kaze walked around the school getting to know the layout of the school and hearing some gossip. He quickly found that there wasn't much left to do today, though the activity clubs later in the year sounded interesting. So he headed to the gates to meet with Shun.

4/9 - Toroname Residence - Morning

The morning started with the blare of my alarm clock. It had been so long since I'd heard it, I almost threw it out of the window on reflex. Seriously, I know they want to wake you up, but a volume button wouldn't kill them... "Ugh... It's like waking up to an air raid..." Gonna have to get used to it, though. School's starting again today, so early rising's not optional anymore.

"Akatsuki? You awake? C'mon, bud, up and at 'em!" My dad's voice echoed from downstairs. Sometimes I wonder what he's made of to get up so early without any problems.

"Yeah, I'm up! Be down in a sec!" I looked outside as I got up. "At least the weather's good today." Out of bed, I got dressed, grabbed my stuff, and made sure to pack my practice gear into its carry bag. After that, it's downstairs for breakfast, and I could smell it from up the stairs. In the kitchen, I could see him filling a bowl with rice from out of the cooker. "Well, don't mind if I do."

"Eat it fast. You don't want to be late for your first day this year." I was too busy stuffing my face to say anything back. "Oh, by the way... I heard your school's getting a transfer student. Know anything about that?"

Oh, yeah... I think I heard that, too. "Dunno... Heard he's from the city, but that's about it. Why do you ask?"

"Oh, no reason. Before you go, though..." He got up to grab something from the counter. "I packed a bento for you. Good way to start school this year, I figure." I could tell he was up to something, but I figured it wasn't too big a deal. Probably wanted me to share it with the new guy or something. "I trust you'll be at the dojo when I need you? We've got some new students that'll be joining now that the school year's picking up."

That's right. My dad runs the local martial arts dojo downtown, and I'm among his top students, as well as his lead assistant whenever I'm there. "Sure thing. Always fun to see what they can do." I couldn't help but chuckle in excitement. No telling what kinds of people you meet each year there.

"Well, go easy on them. We want them to learn the art, and putting them on the floor too quickly doesn't help." Point taken. After eating, I cleaned up, thanked him for the meal and went for the door. On my way out, I heard him shout after me. "Oh, and don't forget to visit the girls today!"

"Yeah, you got it. Catch you later, Dad."

4/9 - Hinasho High - Morning

The way to the school was pretty was pretty uneventful. I decided to run for some morning exercise, and saw some familiar faces on the way. A prim and proper girl and her friends, one of which seemed to have a target on her back when it came to jokes. I didn't remember her name, but I was pretty sure she was older than me. One thing was obvious, though, and that was that her looks mattered plenty to her.

In front of the school, pretty much right as I got there, a kid on a scooter accidentally ran into another student. I didn't recognize the older student, so he was probably the transfer student I'd heard about. The younger one was obviously a first-year, but I couldn't put a name on him either. After it happened, they were quick to get up, apologize to each other and move on. Guess they're fine. With nothing else happening, I headed inside for my class.

I got to my seat, and the class was greeted by Hinasho's own daylight vampire, Muneshige Takamine. He introduced the transfer student to the class. "Kaze Shison", huh? He didn't seem too bad. Thing was, though, that he got seated in front of me, between Shun Akamura and... Koi Maki-Maki. Arguably the creepiest girl in town. I didn't expect her to be in the same class, but it couldn't be helped.

4/9 - Hinasho High - Lunch

After morning lessons ended, it was time to eat. I remembered that Dad had packed a bento box for me, and pulled it out to see what was inside. Pretty basic. Some rice, teriyaki chicken, and tofu. The amount, though, was clearly enough for two people, along with two pairs of chopsticks. The old man meant well, but his lack of subtlety was sometimes a bit annoying. I was about to ask the new guy if he wanted some, but he apparently got his food from the lunch crew.

I didn't expect it, but the one helping with food today was the first-year I saw run into Shison-kun earlier. I remembered that students helping with lunch got a meal on the house in return. Even so, with food to spare, I couldn't help but address him about it as he passed. "Hey, thanks for helping out with lunch. What's your name? Mine's Akatsuki Toroname." I offered up my spare chopsticks. "If you're cool with it, I got extra food if you want some. You can grab a share after you're done helping the class. I'll make sure there's some to spare."

Afterwards, I noticed another familiar face in the room and moved to sit with him. "Yo, Itachi, good to see you man."

"Ah, Akatsuki. How goes it?"

"Same old, same old. Gonna help the old man with teaching at the dojo once he gets the place open for the year. Got any plans on your end?"

"Well, now that you mention it..." Oh, joy... What's he got going? "Word is, some of the class is planning to take the transfer over to the haunted house later, see if they can spook him."

Oh, come on... "Seriously...? Don't they have anything better to do?"

"What do you think? I'm not going, 'cause I gotta work, but it sounds like it could be interesting."

"Yeah-no, I'll pass... I don't need to spook newcomers to get my kicks."

"If you say so... Oh! You got spare food? Why didn't you say so?" He reached in, but I stopped him before he got too greedy about it. "Aw... What gives?"

"Sorry, man. I promised a share to someone else, so hands off."

"Ooh, you don't say...? So what's her name?" Damn it all, he got the wrong idea...

"I don't know his name, but he's a first-year. Thought a little generosity would help him feel welcome."

"Heh... Ever the softy, huh?" I scoffed, but all he did was chuckle. "I kid, I kid... Anyway, take it easy, man." I nodded him off, and went back to my seat.

When I got there, I heard Akamura asking Shison-kun about checking out the house. Afterwards, he got up and started talking to a girl in the hall. Was that...? "Of course... She would be behind this..." I'd told Itachi I wasn't going, but I was beginning to reconsider. "Maybe I should keep an eye on them..."

4/9 - Hinasho High - After School

After wrapping things up in class, I decided to follow Shison-kun outside to meet him at the gates. I didn't wanna seem like I was eavesdropping, so when I got there, I just greeted him as a new student. "Yo, you're the new transfer student, yeah? Shison, was it?" I offered my hand in greeting, then kept up the talk. "Name's Akatsuki Toroname. I grew up here, so lemme know if you ever want someone to show you around." In the end, I decided to extend an invitation of my own.

"By the way, my family runs a dojo downtown, if you're ever interested. Good place to get a workout, and learn something at the same time. Lemme know, and we can have you in whenever you've got the time."

Kanna Watanabe
-- April 9th, xxxx || Lunch || Hinasho High --

Kanna looked up at the gray haired male from earlier, only a little intimidated by his stature in comparison to his own. Quickly handing over his lunch, the half albino arched his eyebrows once the man apologized for being in his way. Really? Why was he apologizing? This guy, Kaze Shison, was way too nice for his own good...
An embarrassed blush dusted his pasty skin as he quickly shook his head.
"N-No! U-Uh, it's was my fault really!" The young teen began waving his hands around quickly. "I-I'm okay, really...thank you for asking though, Shison-sen...pai..." Kanna trailed off as Kaze was pushed along, continuing the steady flow of student waiting to get food. He didn't get a chance to introduce himself...well, at least he know which class Kaze is in to give his formal apology.

As Kanna got back to working for his share of food, one of the students stopped him from moving on to the next student. He was probably even taller than Kaze, with similar colored hair and small scars on his cheek. What was he stopping him for? Kanna could see the food on his desk already, so he could only assume that he wanted to tell him something. Offering over spare chopstick, Kanna's eyes unconsciously sparkled as he took the utensils gratefully before being offered a share of his own food.
"R-Really..? You don't mind?" He practically whispered, cradling the chopstick as if they would break if he put even a little but of pressure on it. A small, childlike smile appeared on Kanna's face as he nodded eager. "Thank you! My name is Kanna Watanabe, and I a-appreciate your kindness!" He said with a kind smile before hurrying off to finish up and get his food.

There was only one classroom after Kaze and Akatsuki's, and once he was done passing out food there, Kanna made his way back to the previous class and took a timid seat next to the later...

-- April 9th, xxxx || After School || Hinasho High --

After a bit of droning with the teacher, the class was set free. Kanna wasted little time pulling out his scooter from his desk, escaping the classroom and hurrying outside. He hoped no one would question his clasped item as he put on his shoes and hurried outside; thankfully no one seemed to care too much. Just as he exited out of the front door and began moving towards the front gates, Kanna noticed both Akatsuki and Kaze talking to each other. Still a little nervous about bumping into Kaze earlier, The half albino slowed his steps and watch from afar as discretely as possible.

Kaze waited patiently for Shun to arrive. He was interested in seeing what it was that Shun would be showing him around town. He pulled out his phone and sent a text to his aunt, alerting her that he may be in late, before placing it back into his pocket. It was only a few moments until another student showed up.
"Oh, yeah. Kaze, please." Kaze said as he was surprised by another student calling to him.
"Your family runs a Dojo? That sounds interesting. I'll have to check it out some time." he said trying to show genuine interest.
"Hey, Shison-san!" came Shun's voice as he came from the school building, a bike being led in his hands. The boy was beaming, and quickly lowered the wide grin on his face as he approached a student he recognized beside the Transfer Student.
"Oh. Hey Toroname-san. I made plans with this guy here to show him around town. Thought I'd treat him to some Noodles too." Shun scratching the back of his head, hoping he hadn't tried to ruin the fun that the other students were setting up for Kaze.
"You, uh, you coming along too?" He asked sheepishly.
"Oh, hey, there's...uh" Kaze said, waving before realizing, he hadn't taken the time to actually get the boy's name.

"Glad to hear it. I'll make sure you know when we've got lessons." Shison-kun had agreed to look into the dojo. Something to maybe keep him busy in this town. Almost as soon as he said so, though, Akamura showed up to invite him out. He didn't seem all that happy I was there too, though. Maybe he saw me as a stick in the mud or something. Didn't stop him from asking if I wanted to tag along, though. "I'll need to let my old man know about it, but sure. Why not? It's a chance to get to know the new guy, after all."

I wasn't really planning to outright keep them from doing anything. Just wanted to be there so things didn't go too far, one way or the other. Maybe I was being a stick in the mud, but I couldn't shake the feeling that they might try something stupid. Before anything else, though, Shison-kun noticed someone nearby and recognized them. When I looked over, I could see the kid that had been passing out food earlier. He had stopped by after he had finished for his share of the food I brought, and I remember him saying his name was...

"Ah, Watanabe-kun!" I waved him over when I saw him. He seemed nervous, but I couldn't tell why. Maybe he's not used to hanging out with others? "No need to be nervous, bud. Come on over." I remember he was all aglow when I first offered some food to share. He must have been really starving. "Hope my old man's cooking hit the spot. He's not the best cook, but it beats what the school hands out by a longshot." Part of me hoped he wouldn't get roped into going with us too, but all in all, it was his call.

Kanna Watanabe
-- April 9th, xxxx || After School || Hinasho High --

Kanna unconsciously twitched when Kaze turned and made his presence known. He originally was just going to stay put, as if he didn't even hear the other, but when Akatsuki called out his name, Kanna couldn't help but give a small smile in return. The older said he could come over, so maybe they didn't mind his company? A little flustered by the offer, Kanna nodded quickly before scurrying over to the small group of three, his body a little close to Akatsuki's due to fondness.

The half albino gave the other two a curt bow before looking up at Akatsuki.
"H-Hello, Toroname-senpai!" The young teen grinned, his reserved nature fading away as he spoke to said male. "Th-Thank you for the food! I-It was really good...u-um, could you tell your father that I say thanks?" Kanna questioned, tilting his head a bit before his gaze moved back to the other two boys, his reserved nature returning in mere seconds. "Oh...a-am I interrupting something?" The white haired boy blushed in embarrassment as he rubbed his hands together quickly.
