This is an older RP character for me and he has an existing system to come from. Hope you don't mind a little StarCraft in your lives.

Name: Rave “The Shadow” Mallard
Title: N/A

Tier/Influence: 4

Group(s): N/A

Description

  • Height: 6'2"
  • Weight: Out of armor- 178 lbs, In armor- 245 lbs(estimate)
  • Age: 26
  • Race/Species: Terran
  • Appearance: Bright red hair, deep green eyes, handsome face framed by high cheekbones

Personality: Quiet, calm, reasonable and clear headed person despite the hardships he's faced in his life.
Abilities, Talents, Traits, Powers: Being trained as a Confederate Ghost from a young age, Rave is both at the peak of physical fitness as had his Psionic powers refined into a field of specialties that make him dangerous. As a Spectre, he has taken to inhaling doses of Terrazine, balanced out by Jorium, which has made him stronger psionically and a continued work out routine keeps him in prime physical condition. As a Spectre, similar to their Ghost counterparts, he can use his Psionic abilities to enhance physical attributes of himself and with his armor, is able to cloak himself so that to the untrained eye, he’s completely invisible. Movement causes a slight shimmer around him but it is incredibly difficult to spot, ESPECIALLY to the untrained eye.

  • (4) Crytokinesis -- The single most natural ability for Rave, this allows him to create and control ice and air temperatures as he wishes. The first requirement to be any kind of kinetic is to have a PI of 5 at the minimum and outside of the creation and manipulation of ice and lowering of the temperature, which allows creations of lethal ice storms for example, he cannot control anything else with this ability
  • (3) Blast Pulse -- An ability developed by Rave during his time as a Spectre, this ability kills everything within a five foot radius of the pulse’s origin and knocks everything outside of that away from the origin point. The ability is telekinetic in nature
  • (4) Cloak -- In combination with the specialized design of the Spectre armor he wears, and the Nyx-Class cloaking module that reduces the amount needed, and his Psionic energy, Rave can turn invisible. With the Nyx-Class Cloaking Module, the amount of energy required for this becomes essentially nothing, allowing for nearly endless cloaking. This is a visual cloak only, as walking and shooting from cloak still produces sound, though Ghosts and Spectres are masters of Stealth by nature and training
  • (3) Suppress Psionic Signature -- This ability was developed while Rave was in hiding from the Dominion after the failed attempt by Tosh to assassinate Mengsk on Korhal IV. It allows him to reduce his presence as a Psionic from his PI 9, or Psi Index 9, to that of a more average citizen of the Koprulu Sector, which is typically a one or two.

Items: Prototype AGR-77 Gauss Rifle, modified C-150 pistol, Prototype Hostile Environment Armor or HEA, Katana, retractable claws in armor wrists, punch knives, two sabertooth knives

  • (3) Prototype Hostile Environment Armor, HEA -- Equipped with a built in Nyx-Class cloaking module along with providing 150% better protection than the HES without sacrificing maneuverability. Also comes with thermal, magnetic and night vision visual modes.
  • (3) Prototype AGR-77 Gauss Rifle -- The AGR-77 has an underslung shotgun along with a built in suppressor that can be deactivated. Can also fire psionically charged rounds. An alternate and in-testing version of the AGR-14 Gauss Rifle that most other Spectres are equipped with. Psionically charged rounds have increased armor penetration and penetrative power in general, and can be detonated by the the firing psionic to act like a small explosive should the actual shot prove none fatal.
  • (4) Modified C-150 pistol -- The C-150 was taken off of a dead UED marine and is modified with reflex sight, silencer and laser sight. The C-150 fires a .50 caliber round.
  • (2) Retractable Claws -- Positioned on the wrists of the HEA, these allow for a final stand at melee range and for sudden and unexpected melee attacks.
  • (2) Punch Knives -- These knives are so named because of the way they’re held. With the hilts held under and between two fingers, the only practical application is to punch with them, making them ideal for use in an opponent’s exposed throat. Four of them in various locations on his armor.
  • (2) Sabertooth Knives -- Named for looking like the two premier fangs of the Sabertooth Tiger, the blade curves around the front of the fingers. Sheathed just above his waist.
  • (2) Katana -- The katana is made from the highest quality neo-steel and are made in the traditional manner, not in a mold. It’s an unusual weapon to see a stealth operative wielding in an age where firearms tear through modern day heavy armor with ease, but he is incredibly skilled with it.

History:Rave was conscripted into the Confederate Ghost program when he was of the tender age of ten after an incident with a bully at his school involving a small fight that caused his powers to manifest in the form of Crytokinetics. This occurred in the year 2488 just as the Guild Wars began. His parents, Reginold and Christine Mallard, were devastated when it was revealed to them that their son had latent psionic abilities. Saying their last goodbyes, the young man of ten years old promised his parents, natives of Tarsonis, he'd find a way to come back and get all of them away from this "bad place with bad people." His father, proud of his son, took one last picture of him before he was taken away forever, immortalizing Rave's brilliant smile in the photograph along with all the happy memories.

For eight years Rave trained in the way all Confederate Ghosts did, having psionic inhibitors placed inside him like any other Ghost. Soon after his graduation in 2496, was put on duty in an outer installation doing top secret research on new weapons for the Confederacy by studying alien artifacts and energy sources. He spent two years on this installation, near the world of Mar Sara while other Ghosts hunted rebel groups like the Sons of Korhal. In 2498 he was recalled to review a few of the new recruits to the Ghost Program, among them Johnny Raynor, son of now infamous rebel James Raynor. Saying they would make the cut, something most of the Ghosts there agreed upon despite just giving an experienced opinion that would be ignored, he was dispatched off world to Antiga Prime.

He was still on Antiga Prime when the Sons of Korhal arrived and instigated rebellion in early 2500. He fought up against the insurrection until the Confederate base was overrun and then joined them rather than be killed and never get to see his parents again when Sarah Kerrigan gave him the option. He stayed with the SoK, having his psi inhibitors removed shortly after joining up, until after the massacre on Tarsonis and the abandonment of Sarah Kerrigan. Accompanying Jim down to the surface to try and save as many people as he could, he found his parents home destroyed, with his family's bodies ripped apart. All he found still intact was a single photograph he vaguely remembered from the day he was taken into the Ghost Program. In it was a picture of a smiling young man, about age ten, with bright red hair like his and deep green eyes standing in a hug with a man and woman who looked like his parents. A single tear fell from his eyes as he unframed the picture, folded it up and slid it into an empty ammo pouch.

Leaving Tarsonis behind with Raynor and his newly formed Raiders, he assisted in capturing the Hyperion before taking his leave and going off the radar for a few years, barely avoiding detection by a team of UED Ghosts when they arrived in the sector and then later Nova Terra in 2503 after becoming one of the first New Spectres outside of the official Project Shadowblade when she and the Annihilators defeated it and destroyed Gehenna Station. He's since joined up with the Raiders again, helping Tosh train new Spectres as they're created, guiding them down the right path. When he's not teaching, he's helping test new gear.

NOTES: To have a PI of 9, this means that you have the ability to rip open all but the most resilient minds with little effort, the sole exception to this being the Psionically gifted Protoss, who have been known to send prying Terran Psionics into comas with little more than a fleeting thought, or ripping apart a foe with nothing more than their mind if they're talented enough in telekinetics. It also means that any of their Psionic powers, except for the cloak, are stronger as a result, making it difficult for a weaker Psionic to fight them off.

@Zarkun I don't mind a little starcraft, but you need to update the profile to fit the requirements identified in the character creation guide.

@Zarkun

Thanks for the update!

Some basic weapons that would be easily obtainable by a regular person or even someone in the military, such as the katana, retractable claws, punch knives, etc, would be a 1; perhaps a 2 if they are especially sharp or durable. There is, as far as I can tell, nothing particularly unique about them that would make them more costly or potent to merit a higher influence. That said, if you disagree you could always expand on their description.

Could you provide some detail on what benefits psionically charging a gauss rifle round?

Could you provide some detail on what it means to be a Psi Index 9? Is it just the ability to cloak himself? Is it just visual cloaking or does it extend to other areas?

Is the blast pulse kinetic, magic, or something else?

Could you go into a bit more detail on Crytokinesis? What are its limitations or requirements?

That actually makes a lot more sense than what I thought it meant for them. I thought it was a measure of his skill with them XD

Also edited in the information you asked for.
