Alexander Flores

Location: Callie's Inn
Tags: Myra @Caits, Sombra @Vicier

There was something about seeing his sister standing there by the window that left Alexander mute for the moment, unsure of how to react. There she was, older despite not truly looking it unlike him, but she was alive and in good health which was a relief. And on the other hand it meant she'd stayed away and out of contact despite clearly being able to do either with ease. Alexander wanted to both hug and yell at her, and for a moment he didn't know how to react. However the decision was taken from him when Sombra spoke up.

“..it’s been much too long, brother- really… you should learn to keep in better contact…”

"You know damn well I couldn't!" He shouted at her uncaring that those in the inn might be able to hear, his sisters words stung, they really did. That this was her proposed greeting to him after all these years of not knowing, worrying, and wondering why. The mans fists clenched and he had to bite the inside of his cheek hard enough to draw blood to keep himself from punching the wall closest to him. Alex wasn't the same person she'd left behind, someone who might have let it roll off his back without much thought. No, the events of recent years had changed Alexander and it wasn't nearly as easy. His saving grace was his mother, stepping into the room and brushing by him to get at her daughter. It was enough to break him through what he was feeling, and let his hands go lax.

"You don't get to act like that," While his voice was lower than the earlier shout he was hardly being quiet and still full of emotion, moving forwards into the room to get sight of his twin rather than having Myra between them. "Not after you walked out on this family."

Sombra Burke

Location: Cedar Ash Inn.
Interacting With: Alexander Flores (@Crono), and Myra Flores (@Caits).

“You know damn well I couldn’t..!”

Flinching only slightly at his angered voice, Sombra’s expression nevertheless softened, her smirk falling and her soft lips parting slightly as she smiled gently in his direction- whether he wanted to believe it or not, she had missed him… more than anything else she had left behind when they had run, he was the one thing that had always caused her guilt… the one person that had always made her second guess her choice… but there was just no turning back; not if she wanted to protect him- to keep him safe from her world.

“..Alex…” Not caring about the anger she knew he had towards her right now, she only managed to take a few steps towards him with all intent on instigating the rare show of loving contact before she was stopped, the rather tight grip upon her arm a clear enough warning for her to not go any further as her mother tried to gain her attention, forcing her to turn her head, a very soft, though ever warning growl emanating from deep within the confines of her chest at the action. Though she might not have realized it; her mother was walking a very thin line right now…

“A bit impossible to do, Sombra, when you left us no means of doing so.”

“..confía en mí… no quieres hacer eso, madre…” Balling the hand of the arm that had been grabbed into a fist, she lifted her gaze, allowing the cold dark iris’ to meet with that of the woman before her as she reached around, her free hand grabbing firmly ahold of her mother’s wrist, forcing the grip to be lost as she pulled herself free with what seemed like ease.

“You don’t get to act like that. Not after you walked out on this fam-...”

“I left for a reason..!” Her head snapping round so that she was instead looking her brother in the eye, she lashed out, cutting him off before he got the chance to finish, her voice strong, matching (if not outdoing) the anger that was being thrown her way as she spat out her response, her chest heaving lightly up and down with each breath as she tried to keep herself calm- she’d left Klamath to keep them both safe… to keep them from finding out about the supernatural world; slipping up now would cause everything she had worked for to be ruined.

“Or were you too blinded by my so called betrayal to even think about that..?”

Myra

interacting with Alexander @Crono, Sombra @Vicier

Alex's anger did a curious thing for Myra. It calmed her, at least slightly. A rare feat indeed. As he yelled at Sombra, his anger quite palpable. The last five years had been hard, she knew, for Alex. Perhaps harder than it had been for her, for although Sombra had left, Alex had lost both his twin, and as reluctant as Myra was to admit it, his best friend. Myra was already turning to her son, and away from Sombra as she tore her hand away, not noticing the ease with which Sombra did it, wanting to soothe. A small whine from the hallway drew her attention, however briefly, to Arlo, but when it didn’t come again, she faced her children.

“No, confía en mí, Sombra. Podría hacer mucho peor”

Her words were calmer, but anger did shimmer under the surface, Myra’s accent which she had never quite lost, dancing smoothly in her mother tongue. It would be so much easier to argue in Spanish, Myra’s anger making her second language almost impossible to focus on.

“Cinco años, Somba, y nada! ¡Podrías haber muerto, por lo que sabíamos!” The Spanish flowed rapidly, her anger building once more at Sombra’s words, as she once more tried to assure she had a good reason for what she did, once more tried to turn the blame on them.

“¡Nunca nos dieron la oportunidad de pensar en otra cosa!” She said, growing furious once more. Had she truly expected anything different? Perhaps a small part of her had hoped… Her hands curled into fists once more, finding that words almost weren’t enough. She had never before considered hitting either of her children, but right then, she felt quite close.

In Myra’s mind there was nothing that could have forced her to run without any contact at all."¿Por qué no nos lo dices entonces? Demuéstranos lo poco razonables que somos"

Alexander had to bite his tongue to allow his mother to say what she'd wanted, in Spanish mind you, after Sombra had snapped back at him. The two Flores women loved their language play, bouncing back from one to the other just like they had when they argued even before Sombra left but that wasn't Alex's thing. Though it was almost a relief to hear her bring up a reason, to know that she and James hadn't left on some stupid romantic whim or something nearly as ridiculous. "Of course I did! I played scenario after scenario in my head, reasons why the two of you would take off without a word and made no contact. Maybe you'd been kidnapped, possibly eight feet under the ground. The FBI could have recruited you, or shoved you in some prison somewhere." Sombra was good at what she did even if it was generally illegal, the FBI catching her to either recruit her, put her away, or even going on the run from them had all been thought of. Alex was starting to pace slightly, unable to contain himself by standing still as he listed out the reasons she had the audacity to claim he hadn't considered. "I'd even let my imagination get out there and considered aliens for crying out loud."

Alex paused his pacing to eye his sister, "But my guess is none of those are true. Meaning that no matter the reason, it's not nearly good enough." The mans frustration ebbed towards a more pained expression, "We could have handled whatever it was together." He nodded towards Myra as he said this to include her in his words, the three of them were a family. Finally his Spanish started seeping out, "Pero usted no nos dio una opción en el asunto, hermana."

Alexis Farreacher

Location: Callie's Car
Interacting with: Callie Lenson@Caits

Small things, that was alright for Alexis. Though deep inside she really wanted to see if she could ever be a panther. Or rather, just an oversized black cat. But apparently that was considered demonic and she wasn’t about to try anything that sounded that bad. But she did notice a small detail. The enzymes. She thought it told her two things: one, that certain enzymes somehow control the magic and that there might be something that does have those enzymes. Or there was a more biological explanation. Something to do about body mass. Alexis knew that there had to be, at the very least, some correlation between magic and science. Still, she was happy. “I do hope someday I can soar in the sky.” She mumbled, with a smile, looking up through the window into the blue sky.

“But was it sentient?” an odd question, but so far everyone talked about it like it was a monster. Like some feral wolf that just wanted to kill. Or turn, apparently. But it was a werewolf. Meaning that at some point it had to shift back to its human form, no? “Like, did it make a choice to bite them? Or was it like, an involuntary need?” That sounded a lot more frightening. The more she now thought about it, the more she realized. It didn’t eat them, so she felt that biting them was a conscious choice. He wanted to make more werewolves. “What if it’s his plan, you know? To turn them all? Maybe he wants to use them… Can it?” The question droned through her. It felt like a clever plan. Instead of raising them cub by cub just bite a handful and see which ones survive. Or maybe it was to distract Zoe? Alexis didn’t know terribily much about magic yet, but she knew about lunar magic. The moon itself was a powerful source of power. Maybe the werewolf wants to do something that night? She’d have to ask Callie that soon. But right then, another thing came up.

Her friends. Or rather acquaintances. She was going to help them. Or at least, try to. But how could she do that if they didn’t know they could trust her? Even now she knew she was just the weird girl in the group. A bit of a loner, a bit of a weirdo. She couldn’t just walk up to them in school and say: ‘hey, I’m a witch, which is a supernatural just like you guys! Mind if we hang?’ No, she had to talk to them. In private. And when would they be more private and more together than now? In the hospital? “Callie… I appreciate that you want to teach me how to fight. I really do and maybe we could do that later today?” she started off, hoping she didn’t sound too rude. “Instead… I feel like I first should visit my friends.” But then she swallowed. No they weren’t her friends. Not yet. “I mean, classmates. We probably should talk about the whole… me being a witch thing and… I’d feel a lot better if you were there with me.”

Miranda Burke.

Location: Sky Lakes Medical Center

Interacting with: Cassandra Arvanitis @Caits, Hunter Evans @Vicier, Sebastian Monroe @December and Xerxes Arvanitis

Looking up at only hearing her friend's quiet voice, Miranda looked through the strands of her blonde hair that had somehow flipped over to cover her face in her rage against the machine. She was quiet, watching the daytime soap opera play out right in front of her.

“..damn, you’re beautiful…”

Miranda inwardly swooned. These things didn't happen. They just didn't.

”Thanks... you’re not too bad yourself”

"Awww!" Forgetting for a moment that they could actually hear her (or not - the way that they were simply looking at each other told her that maybe her cheering had gone over their heads), Miranda quickly flipped her hair back around her head until it laid on her shoulders properly and began the quick (and awkward) task of piling the six sprite cans into her arms. If she was going to get in trouble for breaking the damn thing, then she figured she had better take advantage of what it had given her first.

It was clumsy work, and the cans were cold. Miranda made little noises of frustration each time one of the cans slipped around in her arms, but she finally managed to handle them all before giving Cassandra and Prince Chiseled Chin her attention once more.

"I... um... I'm just... going to go give Sebastian his... soda..." Though her words cued her exit, Miranda did not leave. At least, not at first. She wanted to see the rest of this - wanted to witness Cassandra's shot at a really hot guy. Why didn't hot strangers ever just come up to her like this? Well... they did sometimes but it was always kind of creepy and off-putting. This... this was just too adorable! Her little Cassie was finally growing up.

Holy shit her dad would flip.

Clearing her throat awkwardly, seeing that the show would not seem to continue until after she left, Miranda forced her feet forwards and passed them by, giving Cassandra a sly wink and a smile as she did.

"Oh he's cute. Geddim girl!" Miranda glanced behind her, giving Mystery Man one more look before softly giggling to herself and finally headed back to the hospital room.

"Hey Sebastian, I got your Sprite!" Miranda announced herself loudly as she stepped back into the hospital room. "Well, I kind of got us all one. Doctor Arvanitis, I think someone broke the vending machine. Might want to have maintenance or someone look at it." Miranda went to sit on the edge of Sebastian's bed and turned her torso to him, needing him to take one of the cans for himself before she could do much else. She shook her head, somewhat dejected. "People can be so inconsiderate!"

Sebastian

Location: Sky Lakes Medical Center

Interacting with: Cassandra Arvanitis @Caits, Xerxes Arvanitis @YoshiSkittlez, Syleste Vos @Vicier, Gage Brooks @BlackPanther, Miranda Burke

Sebastian smiled sadly to himself as he sung, watching Gage visibly relax as he continued to sing. Out of everyone in their friend group, he was probably least close with Gage; he was more introverted than his twin, and he and Sebastian had never exactly clicked before. Their interactions consisted of surface level conversations and Sebastian making Gage uncomfortable with his unintentional flirting, something that had led to some trouble in years past. But beyond that, Sebastian mainly knew Gage through his relationship with Syleste.

Miranda's sudden entrance cut short Sebastian's singing, his voice shutting off the instant he heard her fumbling with the doorknob. It was still his knee-jerk reaction to avoid using his powers around his friends, and it was difficult to reassure himself that they accepted him for who he was. Granted, he still wasn't positive that he should sing around them, with it being a form magical persuasion and manipulation, regardless of his intent.

With a small, quiet chuckle he lifted a finger to his lips and shushed Miranda before taking three of the sprites out of her arms. "Gage is sleeping, Miri, be quiet!"

Sebastian grinned and set down the sodas by his bed on the odd contraption attached to the bed that functioned as a table, furrowing his brow as he gestured vaguely to the cans remaining in her arms. "I asked for one sprite, hon, not for you to mug some poor bastard and use his life savings on a vending machine."

The Siren rolled his eyes playfully as he flicked her arm, nodding his head towards the door. "And what happened to Cass? She went out looking for you."

After a moment longer Sebastian raised an eyebrow. "You didn't mug her and take her lunch money, did you?"

Callie

@Legion02

Callie was well aware that she had given Alexis a lot to think about, and that it really was complicated stuff. She smiled to herself, pleased that Alexis seemed interested. She would find the true wonder in magic, and Callie smiled, in memory. It wouldn’t be the first time she had taught someone, and Leo had certainly been an handful, but he’d also been older than Alexis was, if not skilled, he certainly knew about his magic, and what he could do. Or at least he thought he did. They’d had some fun times together, and Callie had managed to get them both through the many spells she knew, and Callie knew that he was ready to gain the witch status.

And now he was off somewhere with Magnus. Callie couldn’t help but feel a little jealous… he’d been her student, and she didn’t want to lose his friendship and companionship, and Magnus wasn’t always the best of influences… She kept her eyes on the road, listening as Alexis spoke, giving her a nod. ”Yes, it was. It… It’s… Zoe can tell you ore, but my understanding is that its always a choice to bite someone. Even with the fool moon, the alpha can resist the moons powers… I’d say… i’d say he wanted to cause Klamath Falls some pain” She said softly, ”I’m not sure. If Zoe wishes to tell me, she will" Callie said. ”As for using them… I think that is only if they want it. Zoe is taking charge of them, and that means something. Your friends are in good hands”

Callie made another turn, letting Alexis think for a few moments, knowing that the girl’s life had suddenly changed in the space of a night, and that it was a lot of getting use to. ”You’re friends have had a lot going on for them tonight and this morning. Let’s give them a little bit of time, what do you say? We will go see them this afternoon, for now… I think its important that I teach you some defense spells, at least… in case you need them” She said, ”I’ll be there with you” She promised, knowing she would keep that promise as if her life depended on it.

Syleste Astrea (Vos) Nioré

Location: Sky Lakes Medical Center.
Interacting With: Sebastian Monroe (@December), Gage Brooks (@BlackPanther), Miranda Burke and Xerxes Arvanitis (@YoshiSkittlez).

That song… she knew that song.

Her body relaxing as she laid back against the pillows once more, Syleste allowed her soft blue eyes to close, her head turning lightly off to the side as she let the beautiful sound of Sebastian’s voice fill her mind- it was calming… he had always had a good voice; and if what Dr. Arvanitis was saying to her was true, then it was something a little more complicated than just pure musical talent…

The melody of the familiar song washing over her, she began to softly hum along with him, her voice almost barely audible, washed out by his voice before suddenly, just as quick as it had begun, it was gone, leaving the room in silence apart from the conversation that had taken its place. Her eyes once more opening, she dropped her attention down, her hands both coming together over her stomach as she took over where he seemed to have left off, her fingers playing absentmindedly with the edge of the blanket that was covering her over the top of the sheets.

“..Peter Pan… Tinkerbell… Wendy Darling… even Captain Hook; you are my perfect story book…” Her head tilting lightly to the side, she sung quietly and mostly to herself, not aware or even understanding of any effects that it might have had on the others in the room with her, “..Neverland, I love you so… you are now my home sweet home- forever, a lost boy at last… and for always will I say… I am a lost boy, from Neverland… usually hanging out with, Peter Pan… and when we’re bored, we play in the woods- always on the run from, Captain Hook… run, run, lost boy… they say to me… away from all of reality…”

Pausing a moment, she lifted a hand, gently using the tips of her fingers to brush some stray strands of her long bubblegum pink locks back and off of her face, neatly tucking them behind her ear, “..Neverland is home, to lost boys like me… and lost boys like me are free… Neverland is home, to lost boys like me… and lost boys like me are free…”

Seraphina Astarte

Location: East Ridge Animal Hospital.
Interacting With: Magnus Bane (@BlackPanther), Leo Kwon (@December).

“..I know…”

Answering almost as soon as he had finished speaking, Seraphina’s shifted slightly over the spot in which she stood, her soft pink lips parting ever so slightly from one another as she let her gaze linger on him- he was one of the rare few in her life that she had placed her trust in over the years since her parents tragic slaughter… her heart shook with worry at the thought that he was willing to betray her like he had… it had to be- Gods, please let it have been a mistake…

“..but you still brought him here- a witch, Magnus…” A gentle sting flickering across the surface of her eyes, tears began to well causing the iris’ to shine gently under the lights in the room they stood in, “..I-... he cast a spell upon one of the animals without any regard for the consequences… t-they’re all the same; and you brought him here… what if-...”

Her voice trailing off into nothing, she paused, her arm lifting across her body to take a hold of her elbow as she shuffled back a couple of steps, her shoulders hunching over as though she were trying to make herself seem smaller than she actually was as her mind flicked back to the memory; the flash of red, and the blood curdling screams playing over in her mind enough to make her flinch before she shook her head, causing her long blonde locks to brush lightly across her back, “..w-what if he wished to do to me, what those… those… those monsters did to my parents..? Layla would be left with no one…”

Leo

Location: Sky Lakes Medical Center
Interacting with: Magnus @BlackPanther, Seraphina @Vicier

Leo quietly watched Magnus leave the car, his brow furrowed in concern. Magnus was, in essence, a vulnerable man covering himself with a dickish exterior. Leo had known that much since the day he met the Druid; Magnus cared deeply, and he hated being hurt by those feelings. To be so open because of one unkind word... It was greatly confusing.

Leo bit his lip, raging an internal battle as to whether he should leave it be, or pursue it. In any case, if Magnus desired for him to not listen, he would probably try to inhibit any form of clairvoyance. If he knew a spell to negate clairvoyance, that is. Leo was still trying to figure out what Magnus was and wasn't capable of with his magic, leaving him uncertain if seeing into the clinic would work or not. As for the angel, she didn't seem particularly supernatural, and she was obviously scared of magic. Leo doubted she would be powerful enough to detect his stealthy surveillance.

Leo took in a deep breath and pulled a cigar from his jacket, shaking his head. "Let's hope this doesn't backfire horrifically."

Leo lit the cigarette with his lighter, preferring not to cast fire magic in Magnus' car. The flare blazed to life, soon giving way to a large enough amount of smoke for the spell. Leo inhaled once again, expelling the smoke into the air in front of him as his fingers contorted, influencing the smoke into a spell of minor clarity.

The angel and Magnus appeared in the smoke, their voices echoing with a slight distortion through the smoke. The quality of the spell left a little to be desired, due both to the fact that Leo didn't have enough smoke or time to cast a truly clear spell, and the fact that he didn't want to feed too much energy into the spell, less he risk the chance of being detected.

“..but you still brought him here- a witch, Magnus…” Seraphina was obviously rattled, her posture and expressions portraying a deep sense of discontent. “..I-... he cast a spell upon one of the animals without any regard for the consequences… t-they’re all the same; and you brought him here… what if-...w-what if he wished to do to me, what those… those… those monsters did to my parents..? Layla would be left with no one…”

Leo frowned, his lips pursing together into a thin line. Obviously, the angel had been traumatized by something supernatural, and judging by her hatred of his spells, Leo could only assume it was another Witch.

Rogue witches certainly existed, however most covens were very peaceful, and kept to themselves. Not many murdered without very good reason, and even less attacked creatures as pure as angels. The thought of the slain being fallen angels occurred to the Warlock, but he pushed the thought aside; he couldn't even be sure if the deceased were supernatural at all.

Leo clenched his jaw and leaned forward, submerging his head in the smoke as he continued to listen.

Magnus Bane

That face hurt. Magnus went to step forward, but stopped not really sure how to respond to the tears. "I know...I should have had him stay in the car" His voice was still soft and by the expression on his face it was killing him. He watched her back up. He saw the pain she seemed to be experiencing. She made herself smaller and he went to go forward again, his hand starting to move, but then he dropped it. He ran a hand through his hair and took a breath.

Magnus could tell she was reliving a few things and managed to look more toward her eyes. "Seraphina....I would never let someone hurt you." His voice sounded hurt that she would even think that he would. He inhaled again. "No matter how many feelings I have for someone I would never let anything happen to you" It was now out in the open and he looked embarrassed. "It was a mistake. And..." He paused a moment before continuing. "It won't happen again."

Magnus sounded sure and he intensely wanted to make up for it. To make it right with at least one person. He looked down. "I swear upon my life force and connection with the earth that it was a mistake and I will not repeat it." For him, that was serious. He spoke again. He found himself speaking a lot, but couldn't help it. "I understand if you want me gone. If you ask me to, I will go and not come back." He would much rather get to keep the job. He liked it a lot more then other jobs he had had. He took a deep breath and waited for the response, hoping that he had managed to make things better. That he hadn't broken the trust too much.

Magnus was a wreck to say the least.

Gage Brooks

Gage stirred from his peaceful sleep as miranda spoke. His movements paired with a grumble. The sounds of voices permeating his brain and jostling his dreams as he slowly started to wake up. Though, slyeste's voice made it a hard struggle to wake up the rest of the way. To the point where he found himself torn in a waking sleep state that he had never experienced before. The conversation that he couldn't understand waking him up while the soft song notes reaching him were trying to tug him back to sleep. It was a rather unpleasant situation to say the very least.

After a few moments, he felt his eyes open as the last lyrics ended. He felt himself stretch a bit and rub his eyes before registering who all was there. He blinked at the large pile of sprites and miranda sitting there. He blinked a few times to clear the sleep induced blurriness from his eyes and shook his head. "Hey" It was odd for him to speak to anyone. A fact that showed that he was clearly still tired.

"Why is there a pile of sprites attacking sebastian" Gage gave a tired glance at the sodas. Apparently he was a talkative sleep deprived person. He paused. "Care to share one?" And now he was social. He needed more sleep stat.

Alexis Farreacher

Location: Callie's Car
Interacting with: Callie Lenson@Caits

Callie made a fair point. The changes were probably strange. Would they feel it immediately? Probably. Callie hinted at that so far. Alexis, right now, felt an equal amount of relief and worry. She was still very worried for her classmates. That feeling wouldn’t go away easy. But she also felt relieved, deep inside. It was a feeling she was a little ashamed of. Callie made her feel good about being a warlock. But in school, she didn’t have Callie around. In fact, in the last few months she felt like a true outcast. Completely alone because of who she was. Now that was changing. An entire group, no a pack, had changed. She wouldn’t be alone anymore. But for that to happen, people had to suffer. That was why she was a little ashamed of the thought. Which she wasn’t about to share with Callie. She trusted the Witch, but she still didn’t want to be judged.

The girl was rather happy Callie would be there with her when she introduced herself as a warlock. She wondered how that would come over to the others. Some would be surprised, right? Then again, maybe not? If werewolves and mermaids exist, they’d probably guess there is a whole lot more out there. Still, a warlock was kind of a big step. Of course, she’d have to prove it. Maybe the light orb she summoned last night would work? But that magic only worked with lunar energy. Either stored in her crystals, which were now empty, or from the moon directly. Maybe some leyline magic? But what spell?

“Defense spells?” the little warlock began to ponder upon those kind of spells. She had a few offensive spells. Like the wind-blast infused in the hawk’s skull. She had a few other things. For a moment she wanted to tell Callie about her other bone-pendants. They weren’t like the hawk skull. Some were just small bones bound and engraved with certain markings. Dominating the leaves and small branches. “Can you teach me to control my air blast?” she asked carefully. The hawk skull spell felt like a rather dangerous topic. Considering that it was apparently very close to black magic. But as she asked, she realized something.

She wasn’t very good at casting offensive spells. The light orb at night was easy enough. In fact, it almost came instinctively to her. Like she always knew how to make it. She didn’t have to think when it concerned the moon. She just waved her hands and channeled the pale magic. But with charms, things were so much different. The signs had to be exactly right, the channeling took effort and even then she was clearly missing something. “Actually.. can you teach me how to fight with spells? It’s just that… well I never really had much chance to practice that kind of spells. Actually, aside from that wind spell, I don’t really have anything to fight with.” The prospect of finally learning how to fight with magic did excite her. But at the same time, it was violence. So she tried to hide her excitement the best an eighteen year old girl could.

Callie

@Legion02

Callie continued on her route, seeming to know where she was going, and driving quite confidently down the road. She seemed to have left the main part of town, heading in the direction of the Running Y ranch, but turning off in another direction, to a secluded area, for the moment. Not many people knew about this area, somewhere Callie had gone with young witches and warlocks before, to give them the most basic training if they didn’t want to join her coven. Many were just passing through, or many didn’t have a strong talent, but Callie could still guide them in what they could do, safely and away from those that might get hurt.

She glanced over to Alexis as she asked about the spells, and whether she could help her with her air magic. When she asked if Callie would teach her to fight, Callie turned her attention back to the road, silent for some time. ”Control comes with practice, it is a fine… art, really, but foci can help us. I have a wand you can borrow, until we carve you one of your own. Of course, you may find that you might prefer other foci. There’s rings, for one, a staff for another and many more. You’ll find as you grow and learn control, that you won’t need them as much, but that for more finer spells, complicated ones, the foci are necessary.” Callie explained, ”And we can work on that today, yes” She said, falling silent again.

She finally continued as she pulled the car into a parking spot, turning to face Alexis. ”i can teach you a few things, yes. But until you’ve established control, I’d prefer it if you stuck to defensive skills. I will teach you a few basic fighting moves, as well, but it wouldn’t do to destroy half a neighbour with a spell. As you learn control, i’ll increase the complexity of the spells” She explained, before she unbuckled her seatbelt, and got out the car, going to the back. She took out a black case, waiting for Alexis to join her.

Xerxes Arvanitis

Location:Sky Lakes Medical Center.
Interacting With: Miranda Burke, Syleste Nioré (@Vicier), Gage Brooks (@BlackPanther) and Sebastian Monroe (@December).

Why oh why did the Sirens have to sing? It was difficult enough keeping the effects of Sebastian's voice at bay, but then Syleste chimed in, albeit quietly. It didn't matter, though, considering the doctor was right there with her, trying to complete her chart that everything checked out fine. He stood there for a few moments, fighting the sound of the Sirens. He had forgotten for a while what it was that he was doing, but with a quick shake of the head, he pushed it all away so that he could finish her chart and clipped it back on the end of the bed.

Just as he was opening up the curtains to the rest of the room...

"Hey Sebastian, I got your Sprite! Well, I kind of got us all one. Doctor Arvanitis, I think someone broke the vending machine. Might want to have maintenance or someone look at it. People can be so inconsiderate!"

"Gage is sleeping, Miri, be quiet! I asked for one sprite, hon, not for you to mug some poor bastard and use his life savings on a vending machine. You didn't mug her and take her lunch money, did you?"

"Hey. "Why is there a pile of sprites attacking Sebastian? Care to share one?"

"I thought you'd be more interested in your girlfriend, Gage... You may go back to her now." Xerxes entered the room, the curtain drawn so that Syleste was once more visible to everyone as he crossed over to the next bed in question, his eyes now on Gage - though the teenage conversation not at all unheard by the doctor. Cassie was... gone? Gone to look for Miranda but not back? He glanced to Miranda, as though he too, were waiting for an explanation as to where his daughter had disappeared to.

"I'll have someone look at the machine, Miranda." he told her as he changed his rubber gloves to a new pair, though his mind was far from remaining on the vending machine problem.

"Sebastian? How are you feeling? Get enough sleep last night?" he then asked, trying not to worry about it. Maybe she just had to go to the bathroom or something.

Karena and Selena

Location Gym

After sorting things out with Emilia, Karena sat in her office, and dropped her head into her hands. With the way things were… Karena knew that she had a decision to make. And as always, it seemed to revolve around Cleo. Her niece wasn’t one for peace… she was typically chaos, always getting into trouble, but she had a big heart. She’d want to help her classmates, her friends, but… Karena believed that Zoe wouldn’t want that, at least not yet, and Karena herself didn’t want it. Life had changed, and Cleo… deserved normalcy, and she didn’t believe that Klamath Falls would have that, in the next few months. The teenagers were attacked, and so many of them were changed… that Karena couldn’t believe anything god was going to happen.

It would be wise to get Cleo out of town… Emilia could go with her… With that in mind, Karena began to make preparations for that, her heart heavy. She couldn’t go with them, not when she was needed here, no matter how much she wanted to. Two plane tickets, and a place to stay… It took Karena some time to organise, but in the end, she was satisfied that both her girls would be safe, and that Emilia could handle anything that they might come across.

That sorted, she spoke with both girls a time, making sure they understood what she had done, and that they would be leaving soon. And then she just sat at her desk, dropping her head into her hands and sighing heavily, closing her eyes tight. Tired, and heartsick, Karena sat there for another few moments, before sitting back, and opening her eyes, beginning to plan everything she needed to do. … talk with Zoe… go to the site of the attack, after talking… check on the attacked teenagers…. The last bit was perhaps the most important to Karena.

She would not have out of control, vicious pups running around her town. She knew that Zoe was more than capable of handling the pups, but… She shifted, hand going for a hidden knife nearby as a young woman stepped in her doorway. The young woman was, in a word, sleek. Beautiful. And to Karena, a warrior. Wary, Karena watched her a moment. ”Who, and what are you?”.

The woman smiled, a smile that sent a shiver up Karena’s spine, it had an almost predator look to it. ”My name is Selena, and my father recommended I come to you, if I needed a little bit of extra help. Abraham. As for what i am… I am a werecat. A panther, to be exact.” she said with a little bit of amusement.

Which did nothing to ease Karena’s wariness. She narrowed her gaze, calmly sitting back, knife at the ready. ”Show me your eyes”. This seemed to cause the girl to falter, appearing slightly uneasy, and Karena shifted slightly, ready for an attack. But the girl didn’t attack, instead she looked away, seeming to think on her words a moment.

”They’re blue. I’ve taken an innocent life, against my will. I wasn’t fast.. No, I was too fast, i couldn’t change my movement, and they… they used her as a shield” She said softly, her voice full of emotion and regret, which gave Karena pause. She supposed that it was possible, and for a moment, her heart went out for the woman.

Her voice was hard and flat however when she said ”Show me”. It was simply not something that she could ignore. Selina grimaced, and looked away once more, before looking back to Karena, who was ready for the sight before her. The young woman had, it seemed, good control, only allowing her eyes to change, and nothing else, her eyes glowing a blue that simply couldn’t be described. Despite knowing where they came from, Karena couldn’t doubt that they were beautiful.

The woman blinked, and her eyes returned to their human shade. :Satisfied?” The girl said, some annoyance in her voice, and Karena nodded, ”For now”

Sombra Burke

Location: Cedar Ash Inn.
Interacting With: Alexander Flores (@Crono), and Myra Flores (@Caits).

They weren’t shutting up… why wouldn’t they just shut up..?

Her chest heaving up and down with each moment that her mother and brother pressed at her for the truth, Sombra closed her eyes, doing what she could to calm the quickly growing anger, though it was clear enough that she was beginning to see red. This was one of the many reasons she knew she couldn’t stay five years ago- despite the fact that she loved her brother; her mother was someone who would never listen to reason… someone who never gave her a chance before jumping down her throat for one thing or another.

A gentle though clear warning growl filling the room, she turned her back to them as she felt herself beginning to change, her eyes opening and her gaze flicking over the the large free-standing mirror stood in front of the far wall, the flash of yellow causing her to once more shut them, her head turning away again as she balled her hands into first, the tips of her claws digging deeply into the palms of her hands in an attempt to keep herself calm, causing streams of bright red blood to crawl over her fists before dropping to the ground at her feet.

“..I didn’t want you to die..!”

Unable to take it anymore, she turned, the pain of her own infliction causing her canines to retract, and for her eyes to remain in their human form; though for how long exactly, she was unsure.

“..the shit that we got into… it almost killed us..! And it could have killed you- both of you..! We did what we thought was right; we left to protect you from this..!” Feeling her anger rising once more, Sombra dug her claws further in, causing her to flinch slightly though she didn’t let that stop her as she continued to let out her frustration- neither of them could understand… and they never would… This was something she couldn’t tell them- what if she did, and something went wrong..?

It might only make things worse…

“And actually, hermano, you aren’t wrong…” Her head snapping around, she narrowed her eyes on her brother, her iris’ flashing a brilliant yellow in color, though it passed just as quick as it had come, “..I did get into some trouble with the feds my first year away from home…”

Sneering slightly, she turned her head away, shaking it lightly from side to side, a single hand relaxing before she lifted it up, running her bloodied fingers back through her hair, pushing it off her face in frustration, “..they gave me a fucking ultimatum- either I clean up my act and work for them as a legal hacker, or I spend the next god knows how many years in prison… obviously I chose to work for them- don’t believe me..? Here...”

Her attention dropping for a moment, she dropped her hand down to her pocket, pulling her purse and another folded wallet, the young woman checking it first before she opened the wallet, making sure that both of them saw her badge and ID before she threw it in their direction, “..have my fucking badge...”

Seraphina Astarte

Location: East Ridge Animal Hospital.
Interacting With: Magnus Bane (@BlackPanther), Leo Kwon (@December).

“..Magnus, no…”

Shaking her head lightly from side to side, Seraphina shifted slightly on the spot, seeming to hesitate a moment before she stepped forward, her hands reaching out to take a gentle hold of his, her soft pink lips parting ever so slightly from one another as she lifted her gaze to meet with his, her beautiful features still etched with worry as she spoke to him, her voice soft, “..I-I’m not going to ask you to leave- I can’t… I’ve already lost so many people in my life, I’m not willing to lose anoth-...”

Her voice trailing off slightly, she turned her head, a flicker of panic crossing over her iris’ as she glanced around her person- something wasn’t right…

“..do you..? Do you feel that..? T-Tell me you feel that too…” Her heartbeat quickening within the confines of her chest, Seraphina’s fingers curled slightly, holding tighter onto his hands as she took a step closer into him, her head on a swivel as she looked around the room as though searching for something- some explanation as to why she was feeling the way that she was, “..I don’t like this… i-it’s like someone’s watching us…”

Myra

interacting with Alexander @Crono, Sombra @Vicier
LocationCallie Lenson’s Inn

A whine was enough to distract Myra, at least for a few seconds, the scared sound coming from the hall way as Arlo skittered away from the door he’d been coming towards, the flash of the pup’s tail the only indicator as she turned towards the door slightly. She frowned, wondering what could have spooked the pup so much, the low growl only just catching her attention, turning back towards Sombra, clearly beyond angry, now. Well, Myra wasn’t feeling too chipper either. And still, Myra was adamant that nothing could excuse no contact, not even a message, in five years. Perhaps Sombra had never thought to face the consequences of those actions.

Keeping her attention on Sombra for now, and trusting that Arlo wouldn’t get himself in trouble, Myra turned her attention fully back towards her daughter. A fine investigator, Myra's attention was soon brought to the blood dripping to the ground, unable to fathom just where it was coming from. Even gripping her nails tightly to her palms, Sombra wouldn't be able to cause that much blood to fall. Her attention once more distracted, by Sombra's words, she looked back up, her own words falling from her mouth without much thought,"I risk my life every day, Sombra. It's kinda my job or maybe the title "Chief of police" doesn't give that away" things only seemed to get worse, as Sombra continued to talk, continued to try and excuse everything she had done. And all it was doing was making Myra angrier, and more than a little hurt "And not only am I that, but I'm your mother, and it’s my job to protect you!"

She let her own gaze meet Sombra's, until Sombra looked aside, to Alexander, but for a moment, Myra was sure that she had seen something. Shaking her head, she gave a sigh, just wanting this to be easy, for once. It never would be, though. Sombra was always sure that Myra was criticizing her, that she didn't understand. And Myra couldn’t understand where she had gone wrong, what she had ever done to give Sombra that impression to begin with, and she’d never been able to fix it, and it didn’t seem like she ever would be able to.

Letting the wallet fall where Sombra threw it, Myra just looked to her, her voice weary as she said “Well, I’m glad the threat of prison finally got you to clean up your act, because I never could. And you still avoid the reason why you left, with no contact for five years!”

Leo

Location: Sky Lakes Medical Center
Interacting with: Magnus @BlackPanther, Seraphina @Vicier

“..I don’t like this… I-it’s like someone’s watching us…”

Leo's eyes widened in surprise; most supernatural beings never had a hope of detected a clairvoyance spell, especially one of Leo's caliber. He had been honing it for years, and had learned from perhaps the best around the globe. But, with someone as anxious as this Angel, it made sense that she would be hyper vigilant, and not as weak as she originally seemed.

Leo pulled his head out of the smoke in an instant, muttering a spell to clear away all signs of clairvoyance and spell crafting. Leo cracked open the window and the smoke funneled out, quickly dispersing into the outside air as he snapped his fingers, making the cigarette disappear in a flash of sparks. Once the air was clear, Leo pressed a rune on his left thigh and spoke the command word, activating it to disguise his magic. He had invented it a long time ago to be able to hide his identity from hostile witches, but he had never expected to use the rune like this.

Once that was done, he reclined in his chair and pulled out his phone, pulling up his personal online database and began scrolling through information on werewolves. He couldn't really focus on the information, but he figured it was best to look like he was preoccupied. He just hoped the Angel chalked it up to paranoia.
