You can figure out what you wanna play now. At this rate it'll move.

Nope, as far as what you need to know, except they aren't particularly magical. Most don't possess any magical prowess at all.

And yes you can be drunk. @Cube

@Rilla

Alright, so my character will be indigenous to the frozen north - perhaps tribal in nature or a small village. Well trained in tracking through the snowy tundra, hunting through the frigid winds, and overall surviving beyond the wall. I think I can scrounge something up. Do we have a character sheet yet? I haven't seen an official OOC yet. On any accord, it will be my intention that while this character will not -know- the elves, I think it would be realistic to assume that someone who can lead a group through the wilds would be aware of the elves, where they are located and what to potentially expect from a potential encounter. Savvy?

On another note, with regards to your second continent - consider a cataclysm of epic proportions. You were considering the cause of their stunted civilization could potentially be magical. Perhaps a magical experiment gone wrong. It left the site of that experiment in tattered ruins, the earth permanently scarred. A place that the locales revere as damned and avoid. Yet, for some reason the group is required to travel there to face some great evil. Just a thought...

In Malazan that is what happened. Less experiment and more magic that be there let loose some powerful shit, and it sort of stunted their growth, as though it were frozen. So they used older magics.

As far as your character, he can have an idea of where they were/are. Stories and whatnot, but no one has actually see them in ages. They don't deal with people well, and are meant to be extreme isolationists. Most of the War Council is gonna consider this a fool mission, chasing literal ghosts and a waste of time and effort.

I'll have a sheet here in a few. It doesn't differ from past sheets at all. However, if we've RP'd together before you obviously don't need a post sample. I know your shit. If I haven't, then linking something will be fine.

Hmmm, how many people are you taking.
Thinking some heavy character development on a goblin could be fun.
Different view point from down there.

EDIT: Ooh, are mixed races a thing?

Depends on how many actually apply. Hahaha.

And no. At this time, they are not. Often times, it's often all the perks and none of the bad stuff.

How about a dragonoid goblin, without the strength or defense.
Gliding, average speed, very little magic, pretty much nothing else but a little environmental awareness.

Great, drunk dwarf it is! I'll keep an eye out for that character sheet as well.

Do I need to provide an example from past roleplays? I may have skipped over that part of the original post, if it was mentioned. I believe I have some samples saved here on my computer, so that shouldn't be an issue.

@Dark Light Gonna have to no that for now.
@Cube yeah that'll work. It doesn't have to be original, just something maybe recent. Like from another RP here or somewhere. Just so I can get a feel for you.

Another question about humans. So they can be master only in one specific area or it more depends on their age and experience? E.g. middle age warrior can master sword fighting and dancing. Where a guy in his early twenties can only have one mastery just because he is still young and there was not much time for him to really learn more skills above average level?

Also are you bringing back some characters from old Chapters? Or this will be totally new group that just continues timeline ?

Probably old NPCs.

And yes. I would like to avoid the super martial 20 yeah olds that have been training all their life. In fact, I usually lean towards characters that don't have much martial ability going in, but due to circumstances, have. To get involved. ElGains played a dung farmer before, a friend played a bartender. This isn't to say you can't have some training, but it's mostly to bar against those who have been mages and warriors all their life.

@Rilla all of this sound good, or are there things you'd prefer toned down/not at all there?

-Pre CS summary-

Name: Phinuphus
Age: 41
Race: Beastkin (Capybara features)
God: Anomandaris
Classes:
Major - Merchant/Apothecary

Phinuphus has made his living traveling between his monestary and local villages, trading spices, tinctures and fine spirits, for food, firewood, tools and other necessities. He has gained a fine understanding of medicinal plants and how to refine them thanks to his olfactory senses. He also has a shrewd business sense and a head for logistics.

Minor - Monk

Phinuphus came to his monastery as a devout of Anomandaris after his parents were lost to plague, serving the monks and nuns as a go-between so that they were prepared for inhospitable terrain during the cold months. He began training with them in earnest to find inner peace, and while his practice has been recreational for over fifteen years, he has begun to take it more seriously, and has begun to see his spirit animal.

Skills:

Major - Healer

At a glance, Phinuphus can often diagnose illnesses by smell and taste before their worst symptoms manifest, and if he doesn't have a preventative or proven cure-all in his pack, he can probably tell you whether they can forage locallly for the means to make one. His means as an apothecary are exclusively curative--he would never think of dabbling in less honest applications of his art.

Minor - Pugilism

Capybkin are some of the largest beastkin on Allaria, standing at almost nine feet tall with thick hides and broad shoulders not unlike a small bear save for its unique paws and tranquil face. Phinuphus' body lent itself well to learning the fundamentals of martial arts, but gave him such a clear advantage over many of his teachers that he has struggled to ever learn more than the vry basics, and is terrified of harming friends while sparring.

Magic: True to monks devoted to Anomandaris, there is likely some magic that has been honed within Phinuphus soul. His fur can become extraordinarily dense and sharp, proving a good defense against bludgeoning and slashing weapons. Wrestling him when his fur is hardened is not advised.

Spirit Animal: A large rabbit.

Other stuff: pending full CS

@Rilla Would it be legitimate to send you the CS via PM first ? So in case there's something requiring serious discussion it won't stack all up in the interest check ? (Haven't even started yet writing down by thoughts)

@Rilla

I'm down for an OOC. It'll be good to get a CS going. With my schedule (much like yours) I am super busy. On any accord, that was my contention. Not that the character would know the elves but he would know of them and subsequetly know the general area of their location claiming he has had encounters with them in the wild but is often treated like a big foot sighting, something along those lines. But let's see that CS.
