Personality: Passionate and honest, Cadfael is one of the people of the plains in everything he does. Though Kutolah now dominates the plains as the largest tribe, you would not know it to meet their prince. He speaks humbly and bows to others, he is honestly friendly to those around him though readily tells them exactly his thoughts. As the chief's son, he fought to be treated like any other Nomad and rose through the rank not by status but through skill.

The Gull lay slumped against the starboard side of the docked ship peering over the wooden railing to stare dully at the port town while regretting his entire existence, the part of that existence he regretted most of all was the throbbing pain in his head from the excessive amount of alcohol he had consumed the previous night, much to the entertainment of his shipmates. Turning down a free drink was something he could never bring himself to do, not when everything in the world was so often held out of reach until he fought hard for it. He brought a canteen of fresh water to his mouth and took a sip, swirling it around then spitting it out to try and bring about some semblance of freshness or at the very least wash away the taste of regret.

“Al!” Came the irksome call of the ship’s first officer whom the young man spotted approaching with a wave as he pulled his head away from the townsfolk. “Shhh.” Alphonse pressed a finger against his own lip and lidded his eyes. “You’re not still hurting from last night are you?” The officer asked with a smirk. “I don’t deal with red wine well.” Replied Al, more melancholic than usual.

“Well that’s a shame given the haul the captain has his eye on next, the local lord’s supposedly bringing in a shipment of the stuff tonight, the fancy kind in bottles!”
“Sounds like it’d fetch a nice price at least…” He wasn’t too enthused by the prospect, bottles were easily broken after all and finding someone to sell them too wasn’t going to be easy.
“Only snag is it’s going to be guarded, not like the usual merchant ships, trained men.”

At this, Al’s eyes lit up and the headache was forced out by a thought. Real guards weren’t cheap and chances are they’d have their coin purses with them on the ship, there may even be a few among them that could be ransomed for a decent amount. The pirate stood upright and inhaled a lungful of the sea breeze. “Let the captain know I’ll be happy to lead the boarding party.”
