Collab Post: Rose and Daisy
Several days passed as the members of the team got a bit more acquianted with one another. The Harp and the two leaders of the group had spoken at length about the coming missions, telling them of the several towns and cities that needed to be visited and checked on. The first, however, was in immediate danger and needed to be seen to as quickly as possible and though Shae and Kaalia wanted to wait a bit longer before heading out, they reluctantly lead their team towards the choppers. Shae, however, seemed to have other plans as she headed off in another direction, giving the reins to Kaalia for the short while she would be gone.
Now, the team sits in their air craft, all looking down at a map Kaalia and another crew member had splayed out onto the floor.
"So, you'll be dropping here, correct?" The young man asked Kaalia, pointing down at a city in the Tarcan Kasmut Territories, having seen the red X someone had drawn.
"We still have very little information about what's going on there, so it's prudent not to drop in blind. However...." Kaalia poised her finger over one of the small annotated towns at the edge of Kasmut. It was just a dot on the map, easily mistaken for a splash of ink. "Drop us here. The aqueduct runs alongside this small town and goes further inland. We can fend off the Lost and inspect the damage as we make our way to the heart of Kasmut."
Kaalia's expression remained vacant, despite the confidence with which she made her determinations, as if her mind were elsewhere. It was. The most recent reports about Ish Sah concerned her. There had been more sightings of a colossal serpentine Lost impinging upon the fishing villages and trade outposts along Tarcan's inland shoreline. "Yes, drop us here" She said, reaffirming her decision to follow the aqueduct into the ruined lands. Her eyes seemed more focused now, a gaze set upon a distant a goal, and her reassuring zeal was present in the air. One look at her, and you knew she had a plan.
She turned to the youth intently eying the map. "Send a message to command, and have them send scouting parties to Ish Sah. Tell them not to engage the Lost even if they're on a rampage. They won't have the forces to repel them. Moreover, the Lost seem to be following the aqueducts and it will lead them right into the heart of Tarcan. Just evacuate the cities to the southwest of Ish Sah wholesale." Her intense gaze locked onto the youth. "Can you make sure that happens?"
The young man bolted up, nearly falling over in the process and nodded to Kaalia, his posture stiff and firm. "Y-Yes ma'am!" He called out, running off to do as she had asked.
"Before we get ready for the drop, does anyone have any questions?" She turned to her team mates, regarding each of them with the equal parts scrutiny and amenability.
