Hello, to anyone and everyone interested and has previously shown interest.

First, I will repost my little rule-set here.

1: This world is NOT ready for real rp, at least in my eyes. I have a lot of information swimming around in my head that needs an outlet, and any other rp on any other site that I simply jump into without organizing my thoughts and ideas has almost immediately failed. I need people willing and able to help me with the conversion of this from an idea, to a working and enjoyable role-play world.

2: 18+ only, this world will most likely be dealing with heavy and dark subjects here and there, but it will NOT be the total focus. I also feel very uncomfortable rping with people who are underage. Also 18+ means mature as well, you can still be 18+ and I won't want you in my group if you consistently abuse people verbally in ooc, constantly argue with people and or constantly break rules set here or at a later date.

3: I can change things, I am fairly flexible person most of the time so if you think any information about the rp that I or anybody decide on now or in the future needs work in any way, please let me know. Also if you think a rule made now or in the future is restricting or unfair in any way please let me know in a mature manner and state your case. I will not listen if you have no argument against it and only say it is ' unfair '

4: The rp is in a sort of development phase, so as of right now I am only accepting people willing to help turn this into a real rp ( here I go repeating myself over and over x-x ) BUT, hopefully this phase does not last long, and once it does end I will be looking for mature players willing and able to try and keep up with everyone post-wise and keep as friendly as possible. Even if you are not able to help with the indepth things, I am always willing to listen to any advice, ideas or questions anybody has.

Races
Be aware the current race names are placeholders.

Ningheim

The Ningheim are a race of humans who split off from the main group a little over a thousand years ago following the intervention of a handful of what can only be described as divine beings. These humans became much more graceful, their vision became enhanced and their natural battle prowess increased greatly. They also became greatly in tune with their " souls " This means that while humans ( at least in this universe ) are a group of the least magically inclined species, the Ningheim were gifted with the ability to bring turn the immense willpower and determination of the human race into a weapon.

This willpower can be manifested in many ways, most often through combat. For example, one could passively granted an aura against projectiles that would gently steer harmful objects off-course if they focused. Others may be able to enhance their natural spellpower and become a much more efficient mage, or be able to draw from their own willpower as a magical reservoir instead of their natural energy, almost completely removing the personality disadvantage others would have, though this one would obviously be much rarer.

I have not thought much more on this race, they would obviously be few and far in-between. I have not yet decided if they would be born with one of these natural ways of using their willpower, or if they would develop the ability or abilities over time. Also, I need to decide if they could use all these different ways of using willpower, or if they would have a single way, so that it would not seem too over powered.

"Angels"

I have not yet thought of a real name but I have many other details.

First, these " Angels " are not divine beings in any way, they are named such due to their natural beauty and wings, very clear resemblances to the angels of human religion. They came from overseas during an apocalyptic event in their homeland and were almost immediately enslaved by the high elves. For years humans and elves have been at each-others throats, and enslaving a race that resembles holy figures in many versions of human religion, well it's just delicious.

The angels have hollow bones, more prone to breaks and cracks but much lighter. Their wingspans can range anywhere between 15 ft for the smallest adult, to 20ft+ depending on things such as height, gender and body weight. Flight and their enslavement means many if not all of these angels are fit in some sense of the word. Agnels are also natural wind mages, aiding in their flight.

Their enslavement often includes physical labor, and to prevent escape methods ranging from magical collars to clipping or even removing the wings. There is a resistance in place that is slowly being crushed without enough aid.

World Details

The known world is devided into a single large swath of land where our story will be set. This area has small islands near the northeastern edge, and stories of far away lands overseas is spreading due to the arrival of the " Angels " but nobody is currently willing to spend the absurd amount of money and time to fund a expedition that may fail, to a land that may not exist, and that if it does exist it is now a wasteland.

This land has the normal fantasy races ranging from normal humans to races of elves, to be more specific two, Wood elves and High elves. Wood elves are secluded and hide themselves within their forests, while High Elves put themselves out in the open, living within great cities alongside the other races, all while considering themselves above them. The dwarves do exist, but have not made contact outside their mountains for nearly 150 years.

To the southwest in the corner of the known world lies the largest forest controlled by the wood elves. They rarely trade with the outside world, but young elves coming of age often leave here on a journey they keep to themselves, a rite of passage if ever there was one. Cutting the continent in half is a massive mountain range surrounded on all sides by desert. It is here where the dwarves hide, and here were major trade is set and slowed. The terrain makes caravans easy prey for bandits, and only heavily protected trade routes are safe.

Tech

So, even though magic exists, it's not just swords and bows and spells. Ships do have access to cannons, and firearms resembling flintlock weaponry is popular among non mages for the ability to give elemental fury to those who would otherwise not be able to contend with a mage. Gunpowder is only used for physical shots, while magical shots are most popular. Fire is most often used due to the ease of enchanting a little ball with pyromantic fire, but the kinds of shots one can use is only limited by the skill and inventiveness of the enchanting mage, or the coin willing to be spent by the user.

Plot

The plot will be set around a group of individuals who all came together after sharing a dream, and being led together by said dream. This will be our characters fighting a losing battle against innumerable odds. Perhaps we will find a way to prevail. Until the fateful day we confront our fate, our characters will be traveling the land as outlaws, as a handful of kingdoms brand those who have this dream as heretics and terrorists trying to sew discord.

So the Ningheim, personally I would think they would have all the current listed ways to channel their willpower as there is to much potential to become overpowered. Ultimately that is your descresion to decide that part of the lore.

For the angels I am curious to know how long have they been enslaved. From what I have seen in what is written they have only been present for maybe a few years to maybe a decade.

I think there should be a limit though when it comes to the willpower thing with Ningheim, allowing them to use multiple ways to channel willpower is a good idea but there needs to be something that limits them in some way, that I have yet to really decide on.

As for the angels, a decade would be a good position to go from. I myself would say 20-35 years max since they arrived, resistance has risen and fell multiple times, each providing minimal change if any.

That seems sufficient for time for the angels and for much to be done to try to end their enslavement.

For the willpower limits I have little and less in mind at the moment for possible limitations. Might have something in time.

No Orcs though? Or other beast-like creatures? Those'd be fun to play. Or maybe just not "beautiful" and "attuned" humans, maybe savages ones.

Just giving away some ideas, I find this quite interesting.

Well in my original interest check I said most fantasy races are fair game, as for orcs and other races like those It would all depend on how you wish to portray them. Such as the elves, I decided on only having 2 known races of elves, each having differences from eachother.

Wood elves are most often the height of humans or slightly shorter and are known for their accomplished archers. They are normally very xenophobic and stay hidden within their forests, while those who leave are most often young ones experiencing a sort of coming of age ceremony where they travel the world they live in.

High elves are normally a full head taller than most humans and are natural spellcasters. They are the definition of the stereotypical elf, high and mighty, arrogant to a fault but not without reason. Whatever a high elf deems worthy of doing is never out of reach.

So to answer your question, it all depends on how you want to portray your orcs and other races, seeing how early on the building process is I am sure we can make a place for them.

Ya, ya, sounds good to me. I'll eagerly wait for this to develop, already got a few ideas on my mind. Also, will this be set in like, DnD medieval era? With blunderbusses and so on or a totally original period?

Think of the period people call the " Golden age of piracy " There are gunpowder based weaponry such as cannons and gunpowder pistols. With the addition of magic gunpowder weaponry is much more versatile. If one can find the correct mage willing to help, or IS the correct mage, they can enchant the normal ammunition to grant added effects. Think slightly more advanced than medevil. I would not know the DnD era cause I really don't play DnD.

Hey, I wanna help too, and after reading the posts I got an idea of how we could include the orcs, what if the orcs are what cause the angels to flee? Like they had this war and the orcs won. And now they wish to conquer even more territory so they are coming to this continent trying to enlarge their empire? They also could use this magic that in this continent they don't know that consists in drawing runes in a weapon giving it a special property, for example a sword has this rune that allows it to release a high pressured blade of air 10ft away when it stabs (even if it only stabs air). And they didn't need to be green, just really bulky humans with large exposed canine teeth.

That is actually a pretty good idea. A good few years after the angels arrive, the orcs arrive close behind and ready for war. This would provide another real element of plot, especially if one of the other roleplayers decide to use an orc as their character.

As for the rune based magic, magic in this universe is very heavily influenced by two things. The inherent magical ability of the race, and the personality of the person wishing to practice magic. For example, somebody who is hot headed and prone to overlooking details would be close in line with the element of fire, allowing them to much more easily control the element.

It was an old idea I never used for anything and something I am still looking to tweak before really using it completely, the only problem is that finishing up this kind of magic would require me seeing how people try to develop their characters around a magic system where magic that directly conflicts with their character's personality can be just as dangerous for the user as it would be for the targets.

Following that line of thoughts orcs inherent magical ability could be directed to the runes or something, and then for each person the runes reacted accordingly to the personality.

As for the angels name the word Valkan came to my mind, I don't know if it has any meaning but it sounded good in my head xD
