For a little over hundred years scientists and doctors alike have been trying to find ways to improve the human health. By either changing the formulas in medicines. Changing medical procedures. And the equipment that are for minor everyday uses or for the means of saving someone's life. A handful of people become to realize the never ending cycle of trial and error. Yes, things have defiantly improved greatly overtime. But the humans themselves aren't evolving like the materials around them. After much debate it was decided by a selected few to start a secret program to help humans evolve.

This group started out small. During the first years of World War 1. No more than thirty individuals working on the same goal. The war was a good excuse to improve the human performance. Such as strength, reflexes, stamina and healing factors. In other words super soldiers. Though the foundation of the idea worked. But it was short lived soon the method for achieving a super soldier was discovered.

The government kept these facts hidden from public ears and eyes. Though rumors about the super soldiers floated about. No real evidence could be found on the matter. The thirty individuals working on the project were disbanded. Those who spilled secrets or even attempted continuing their work were severally dealt with. Eventually a handful of the thirty managed to hide themselves from the government within different parts of the world.

They quietly continued their obsessed work, recruiting whoever they can, but carefully. Eventually funds were high in demand so they needed a way to gain the money needed. Causing an uprising of popular businesses. The scientists and doctors behind this use one to a few of their buildings as a front to what is really going on. Namely hospitals, clinics, along with something smaller scale. Like Wal-mart. The reason for these locations has to do with the public. People aren't always willing to be experimented on. And when human tests subjects are need of demand a person missing or two from hospitals and such are easy to come by. Especially when it is someone who would go unmissed.

This is how it all started out. The results weren't over the top. Like they had hoped. Until the day someone figured out why not use infants or unborn children as experiments rather than teens or adults. For they are either nearly developed or fully developed. And the results of using infants went through the roof. Especially when animal and human DNA are mixed with one another.

The School was created for this purpose. To house and experiment of children. Soon after a few more facilities like the school were built. The hospitals and clinics still provide much needed resources. But aren't the locations anymore for experiment housing and treatment. A few government officials were slowly introduced to the projects at hand. It was a carefully planned out introduction with paperwork and positive results involved. This way if their plan was ever exposed the government may or may not back them up. It was risky move. And yet it proved effective.

In the end, we have to be careful to who we trust. Friend or foe? Number one rule: Assume everyone is an enemy before you can learn to trust them. Even if they lived through the same situations as you did.... In the end just beware of possible betrayal. Or an everlasting friendship.

Where
Facility #7, just outside of Aspen Colorado.
Located deep inside a mountain face, so well hidden a skii resort sits right along side of it.

When
October 12th, 2017.
Sometime around 8:00 am.

And so it begins...
The long awaited day has come. Very few felt the excitement about what this day will bring. While others felt doubt and uncertainty. For a large order such as this one rarely ever happens for good reasons. Even with negative possibilities floating about no one questioned the director's decision. Especially someone with her personality.

Marian. Dr. Marian Janssen is her name. She is quite beautiful on the outside. And yet her unpredictable dark personality will scare a rabid dog back into a sane state of mind. Only her attendant, Morgan, knows how to deal with her calmly. Majority of the staff see him a saint sent by the heavens to help deal with the devil woman. Though no one dares tell her that to her face.

The began like any other in the past few days with Marian giving out orders. Watching with stern eyes to be sure everyone followed protocol. When she wasn't barking commands she focused a portion of her day going through five years worth of paperwork. It was safer for important documents were kept on paper. For computers nowadays can be hacked with a press of a button.

The preparations for the transfer were well on their way. Finding the right subjects to move wasn't going as smoothly as much as she had hoped. Marian had expected this. Compared to her own facility, facility #7 was low grade. Not of value. A waste of her time. And yet here she was. She had a goal. And in order to accomplish that goal she needs to pull resources from The School, this dump and among a few others. The selection process is a delicate one. She can't herself to trust of these inferior monkeys who consider themselves scientists. Chances are they'll end up giving her defects. Wasting precious time and money.

The sound of everyone scurrying about satisfied Marian. This told her that no one was slacking off. After spending nearly an hour forcing those tired souls to work Marian decided to look over a few more charts. Nothing promising has shown up. Despite the wave of files trailing in every hour.

She has read every note, every failed and successful experiments on all living subjects up to this point. She didn't want to leave anything out. Though having to deal with disappoint again and again. After five minutes Marian calm face turned sour within five seconds flat. "Unbelievable!!!" She fumed, tossing a stack of folders across the room. Papers scattered about as if a gust of wind suddenly blew on through. "These lousy scum! They have no talent what's so ever! All they can create are defects!"

Morgan let out a quiet sigh removing a paper from his head. Letting it drop to the floor. He knows all too well when she is like this her logical thinking tends vanish. "Madam." He called out firmly while holding himself in a butler like stance.

"What!?" Marian snapped. Giving him a cold stare. The two others who were in the room with them flinched. Up to this point they remained quiet. Working at a slow pace hoping not to be noticed.

"Why not personally go see the experiments?" He began to say. Giving this question a few seconds for it sink in. "For the written word may have some truth, they don't always give you the full picture. After all seeing is believing."

Marian relaxed. Her face now beaming almost as if her little fit never happened. "Your right. Thank you Morgan. This is why I like having you around. Though I would appreciate it if don't always keep my temper in check. Sometimes a girl needs to let out a little steam once in a while." She said while adjusting her hair. Even though there was enough project in it to keep it in place. When she finished with that she then grabbed a pile of folders of possible candidates, tapped them twice on the desk before tucking them under an arm. "Now then let's going shopping."

Phoenix glowered at the whitecoats who came to his cage. One of them was obviously new, for he stared in awe at the tall male with flaming, feathery hair that reached to below his shoulder blades, blue green eyes and golden skin. Phoenix's long limbs were graceful even as he scooted further back into his cage. He narrowed his eyes at the restraints they had in their hands and knew it was that time of day where they would try to get him to use his pyrokinesis so they could poke him with needles again. Fuck that. He couldn't command fire on purpose yet, but he could heat his hands up to a burning hot temperature.

He'd given more than two whitecoats burn scars. A smirk touched his lips at the memory, curving his full lips into a cruel smile. He concentrated on raising his body temp. The whitecoat who'd dealt with Nix before motioned to Nix's now steaming hand and issued a warning to the newbie.

"Careful with The Phoenix," he said. "He'll burn you, and it will leave scars. He's also very strong. He works out despite how small we make his containment unit." The newbie gulped visibly, looking at the thick plastic restraints in his hands with mistrust, then back at the avian hybrid in the cage. He was rewarded with a mockery of a smile.

"Try it, boyo."

With burns on both the newbie and the experienced whitecoat who lay on the ground next to the melted restraints, cupping themselves, Nix had his brilliant, flaming wings half unfurled, the tips of his feathers flickering with tongues of flame. He tilted his head in satisfied thought, hair falling to cover half of his beautifully sculpted face. Nix gives a satisfied hum and climbs up onto the top of cage, too tall for any of the whitecoats to reach him.

He sits and waits. He knows he can't find his way out of where he is being kept, so he makes it a game to see how long it takes for other whitecoats to come find out why he's not being poked and prodded yet.

"Azer, azer, salamander," Avril murmured in her cage, her arms folded around her book, tucked into a niche between her knees and body as she gently rocked back and forth, her glasses covered by the folded-down edge of her beanie. "Yuan-ti, yuan-ti, one, two, three." She wasn't crying, at all, which meant this was a good day. Instead, she was just sitting in the dark. The happy dark. The friendly dark.

She flinched when a flash of orange light appeared on her wall, but when the light faded and nobody had come to pull her from her cage, she slowly relaxed again. "Ogre, orc, share long pork." The darkness was comforting, even if she couldn't read in it. The white coats always had bright, white, piercing lights in their rooms, so if her room was dark, she was safe.

"Angel, unicorn, why was I born?" The rhyme made her freeze up again, and she started blinking so as not to let the tears start falling. She was stupid. Why did she have to ruin a good day with such a stupid little rhyme? It was her fault and she didn't deserve anything nice. Even her book and the beanie and her cage with room enough to stretch her legs. The first tear fell. It was joined by others.

Avril hugged her book closer, the rhymes replaced with gentle, shuddering sobs.

The air was cool to the touch. And yet the smell was stale as if death was upon someone. Crow always hated this smell. He himself wasn't doing all so well either. Off towards the back of the cell he laid against the steel flooring. He was there long enough for the floor to warm up from his body temp. His body is pretty banged up. A few scrapes, nasty looking bruises and a few fractures. On top of that it's been roughly three hours since he has been fed. Staying conscious was beginning to be a difficult task.

The reason behind his injuries had to with the sparring matches the whitecoats like to hold. Three to around five experiments are selected to face off a random number of erasers alone. Crow last night was up against five of this giant meatheads. He managed to knock three of them. But the other two more skilled. And were able to take a few deadly blows. Luckily before any of them decided to take a lethal move the whitecoats called the fight off.

The end result: Crow failed. Which is no surprise. Sometimes he wins some. Sometimes he looses some.

As Crow laid there he could hear the moans and groans of other experiments. A few were whimpering trying to hold back their tears. While others muttering to themselves. Or all in between. This part of the base is kinda acts like a surveillance ward. For those who are injured, have some health issues or need to be watched because of their state of mind. Unfortunately he can not tone anything out. Even stuffing cotton balls or his fingers wouldn't help him any.

Crow forced himself into a sitting position. The plan was it was going to help him wake up some. Though the moment he relaxed his body it just flopped over to it's other side. Crow flinched when he landed on his bruised up arm. Gritting his teeth a little until the pain subsided. On the positive side his wounds were already healing. Though he wished the healing factor was faster than this. You see being a genetic freak comes with it's perks. A majority of the experiments are able to heal quicker than normal humans. Each individual heals faster than others. Crow considers himself to be in the middle of the bracket.

Suddenly Crow's ears heard a click of the doors down the hall unlatching. His body stiffened up going on the alert. "Three sets of feet..." He said quietly told himself trying to analyze the situation. He took a few whiffs of the air to figure out who coming down the hall. "Two males... One female." Females always have a distinctive scent to them. Males smell... different... smellier. Even if this is the case everyone also has their own unique smell. This way he can recognize a person without actually seeing them. He knows one of the males. Dr. Freemen. Who is in-charge of this sector. The other two he doesn't recognize. Which is a cause for concern.

As he ran, the steady beeping and whirring of machines seemed to fade behind him. He focused on his breathing, keeping an even pace, and occasionally wiping the sweat from his eyes. Khari didn't mind the stress tests on the tread mill. It gave him an opportunity to get out of his kennel for a while and stretch his legs. He tried to ignore the whitecoats standing around, watching him. He tried to imagine that he was running far, far away from here.

Two hours at a hard run. That had to be a record or something, right? He didn't really keep track. Khari was huffing and puffing as he was led to the showers to wash himself off. Once he was clean and dressed in fresh scrubs, he was lead back to kennel and put away like a plaything, to be used later. The young man flopped down on his bare mattress bed and stretched his wings out a bit. They got cramps if he left them folded for too long.

Phoenix perked up when he heard footsteps. He smirked as three new white coats rounded the corner and stopped when they saw the first ones laying on the ground, unconscious. The small of melted plastic, burned flesh and denim reached Phoenix's nose. Two of the newcomers were a male and the third was a female. The female and one other male were ones he had not seen before, and he tilted his head in thought.

Dr. Freemen, the only whitecoat he knew, gave him a withering stare. Nix returned it with a cruel, unsettling smile.

"Phoenix," Freemen was obviously ticked. "How many times are you going to hurt us when we only want to help you?"

"Help me?" Nix snorted. "If what ye do is helping me, then I'd hate tae see what harming me looks like." He shuffled his wings, causing the flaming tips of his feathers to flicker. His hands began to steam once more as a clear warning, though his skin never turned red.

His body temp was four degrees above average so it wasn't really a surprise to anyone who might have read his file. Nix spat an Irish slur at them, then studied them with cold, green blue eyes. He held nothing but contempt and hate for the whitecoats so they never saw the kindness in his heart.

The steps grew closer. They were pause every now and again. But only for a brief moment. No words were exchanged. The only thing Crow would hear is the woman letting out a huff of disappointed before moving on. As Crow's body began to tense even more his mind started to draw a blank. Everything went into a haze. With his current condition and his nerves going on high alert was putting strain on his body. He blacked out for a short few seconds. All the while he missed the conversation between the whitecoats and one of the experiments.

When things started to come in view again the whitecoats were now standing before his cell. Dr. Freemen was looking at his watch. The expression on his face made it evident it had forgotten the two hour feeding deadline. Especially with everything that has been going on the last couple of days.

"It looks as though this one was put through a blender." The unfamiliar male whitecoat blurted out. "No wonder you guys loose more subjects each week compared to anywhere else." He continued giving Dr. Freemen a serious expression. A shiver ran down Crow's spine sensing the murderous intent behind that stare. Dr. Freemen stumbled sideways holding his clipboard up in defense.

"Now, now Morgan." The woman started to say unfazed. "This is Dr. Freemen's workshop and we are his guest. No need for the death glares." She said reaching out to adjust his crooked tie. Then patting the man on the cheek. Crow managed to raise an eyebrow trying to decide what kind of relationship these two have. Turning around the woman swiped a key card. A quiet buzzer sounded off as the door began to slide open. The woman entered without hesitating.

Crow wanted to move away the closer she approached. This woman gave off a scarier vibe than that Morgan fellow. But his body refused to listen to him. All he could manage was a cold stare. Trying to tell the woman he wasn't in the mood for company. And yet she proceeded to knell down next to him ignoring his attempt. She studied him with her eyes. Scanning from top to bottom. Crow was feeling violated somehow. She then grabbed hold of his chin lifting it upward slightly to peer into his eyes. Crow eyes were somehow fixated onto hers. To him it was a wolf thing. Instinct told him she was an alpha. Challenging an alpha is something his body naturally does.

Though this woman looked weak in a woman standards her grip on his chin was strong. Almost as if she didn't want to pull away from her. "Tell me Dr. Freemen, this boy what exactly is he?" She asked without looking away.

Dr. Freemen cleared his throat as if the explanation was going to a long one. "He is an hybrid. He is a failed and as well as successful test subject. He was part of project E-589. We thought we made a break through him but there is one minor set back. Which is something we have yet to fix. His metabolism levels are extremely high. If he doesn't eat something every two hours his body begins to shut down. Almost like someone with a sever case of diabetes but that is only a comparison. We consider that part of him a failure." Dr. Freemen paused a few seconds to catch his breath. Then he entered the cell Avoiding bumping into Morgan. "Now for the successful part." As he said this he reached down to grab hold of Crow's shift. Lifting it up to reveal his battered wings.

The woman hardly flinched. She remained quiet but would tilted her head slightly when familiar terms and phrases entered her mind.

"The only difference between him and the other avian experiments is his bone density. It is still similar to ours but tougher. Allowing him to take a few hits without them shattering. The only draw back is the fact his flight time is reduced in half." Dr. Freemen finished off. Releasing the shirt. Then returning back to his place outside of he cell.

"I see. Very interesting." The woman said intrigued. A small smile crept onto his face as she let go of Crow's chin. "I'll take him." She said standing back to her feet. The way she said those words made Crow feel as though she was adopting a puppy from the shelter. Which made him narrow his eyebrows in disgust. "Dr. Freemen thank you for your time, I will be giving you a list of the other three I am wanting to take off your hands here in a short while. Also, please feed the poor boy before he becomes more of a vegetable."

With that she an Morgan started to walked they way they had come. Dr. Freemen waited until they were out of sight to throw his clipboard against the wall. Saying a few curse words shortly after. He obviously wasn't thrilled with what is going on. And what is about to happen. Crow assumes he is loosing out on his best experiments to this woman. Making Crow wonder who the heck she is.

Nix scowled at all three whitecoats and gave them death stares. The woman was pretty but Nix felt a cruel core beneath her lovely exterior. He tilted his head when she spoke to Freeman.

"And what is he?" Nix added her voice to the already growing list of things he didn't like about her. "Some kind of firebird?"

"This is Phoenix," Freeman said. "We consider him somewhat a success. When he lived in Ireland, he could not walk at all, having been in a car accident. The labs in spent six years trying to fix his legs. At eight years they found a way, but the side effect of the surgery was an excess of adrenaline whenever he is put into stressful simulations. We got him six years ago, but he's only just now began to show signs of pyrokinesis."

The woman stepped closer to his cage and Nix bared his teeth, heating his hands up even more.

"I would be careful with Phoenix if I were you," Freeman warned. "He burns."

As if to prove that point, Phoenix's hair flickered like flames.

"Interesting," the woman murmured. "What is his height, wingspan and age?"

"He is six feet, three inches, with a wingspan of fifteen feet and he is eighteen years old," Freeman said. "He's also incredibly strong due to the fact that no matter how small we make his containment unit, he finds some way to do workout excercises."

"Why would you prevent him from physical exertion?" her tone implied that he and his staff were fucking stupid. "Physical exertion means he spends energy, which means he is tired, which means it more than likely makes it harder for him to burn anyone with his hands."

"Ay, Lad," Nix commented. "She's got ya there, much as I hate tae admit. Smart, unlike you, ya dumb fuck."

"Where did he learn such swears?" She asked with a raised eyebrow. Freeman turned pink.

Rapid gunfire sounded all around him. He was squatted in the mud, rain pouring down over him. The stink of five unwashed young men mixed with the smell of old cow shit as they huddled behind an old cattle truck. His breathes rattled out of his chest, his gun held close to him. It's cold metal was a comfort for him. He held it under his coat to keep it dry; the only false sense of safety he could find in this scene. His platoon had been mowed down. Bodies laid all around the village. Military soldiers were moving in. He was pretty sure he was going to die.

Khari startled awake. He didn't even remember falling asleep. The cold feeling his dream left over him slowly faded into the back of his mind as he sat up. There was someone outside his kennel, a whitecoat, staring at a clipboard and writing. Khari's dark eyes glared evenly at him for a while, waiting for the doctor to walk away. But he didn't.

"Buckle up kid, you'll be going on a ride soon." The man finally spoke, not looking up from his clipboard.

"A ride?" Khari shifted to sit with his legs crossed. "To where?"

"Out of my hands, hopefully. You flunked out of Eraser school, so you're not my department anymore. That's a shame too, you could have been real useful."

"I won't be your fodder for war," Khari growled.

"Fodder. That's a new one; you've been reading those damn books again, huh?"

"Why would you give me books you don't intend for me to read?"

"Cooperation is a valuable thing around here, kid."

The doctor took a page off his clipboard and stuck it on the kennel, marking it to be looked over by the Director whenever she made her rounds through. The whitecoat then turned and walked away briskly, leaving Khari to sit and ponder uncertainly about what this would mean for him. If he was transferred, would he still be able to get his books?

After Dr. Freemen left, Crow couldn't stay awake any longer. He went out like a light in a mere second. But to him it felt as though it happened in slow motion. He wasn't sure how long he was out for. When he came to Crow recognized the fish and fruit flavored liquid as someone forced a quick dissoluble pill into his mouth. The pill is suppose to be used as an emergency supplement. Despite the gnarly taste it has a powerful effect.

Slowly by surely Crow was gaining control of his senses again. The whitecoat kneeling beside him started checking his vitals. Making sure they were as normal as can be. Crow ignored the whitecoat. Even when he shined a small light into his eyes. "Where am I...?" Crow asked aloud, peering around the new small space.

At first the whitecoat hesitated to answer. He glanced over his shoulder a few times to be sure no one was around. "Your in a transport truck. It's heavy duty not only on the outside but the inside as well. So don't do anything reckless." He whispered. Crow gave the young whitecoat a questionable look. But dismissed what he said within a brief moment. Soon his mind finally snapped back into gear he noticed three others sitting within the same reinforced trunk space.

Two guys, and one girl.

Crow wanted to give them a greeted wave but his arms didn't want to move. Either his body wasn't responding properly or there was something inside that pill to prevent him moving normally. Though the other three seem to be find. Other than being in special made handcuffs. The ones that electrify you by a click of a button or when you try to pry them open by force.

Even though he was curious to who they are he was more concerned to where everyone was going to end up. Deep down he knew it wasn't somewhere good.
