Note: Read OOC section regarding Custom races before creating one!

All of you are different. Some of you may be the same race but your people are different. You have endured different things. You have lived in different lands. No matter where you came from, you are seeking a new life for your people. Whoever your leader is, your people follow with loyalty.
Wether you were driven out of your home, or simply seek new lands to call your own, you have all come here without knowing of the others' pressence. You must survive.

Your first choices lie before you. You are...

A) Humans
- Basicly average in everything, good diplomacy. Bonus diplomacy with dwarves and elves, minus diplomacy with orcs and goblins.
B) Orcs
- Has high strength, low technological capabilities and bad diplomacy. Bonus diplomacy with goblins and ogres, minus diplomacy with elves and humans.
C) Elves
- Low reproduction, high magical capability, average strength. Bonus diplomacy with humans, minus diplomacy with orcs.
D) Dwarves
- Low reproduction, high strength, low speed, high intelligence, morale boost. Bonus diplomacy with humans and halflings, minus diplomacy with goblins and ogres.
E) Ogres
- Very high strength, low intelligence, low reproduction, high speed and size. Bonus diplomacy with orcs and trolls, minus diplomacy with elves and dwarves.
F) Trolls
- Average strength/speed, cunning, bad diplomaticy, high reproduction, can regenerate fast. Bonus diplomacy with goblins and ogres, minus diplomacy with basicly everyone else.
G) Goblins
- Low strength, average intelligence, weak-willed but functions well in masses, very high reproduction, small size. Bonus diplomacy with trolls and orcs, minus diplomacy with halflings and dwarves.
H) Halflings
- Low strength, small statures, cunning, bonus diplomacy, bonus trade. No diplomacy bonus or minus with certain races.
X) Other
- Please specify averages, strengths and weaknesses.

You land upon the continent, and decide to settle...

Next:

Choose a color to represent your kingdom. May be any single color. This matters because the settlements I put on the map will have text bordered with the color of your kingdom, so that players and non-players alike can see what settlement belongs to who.
Additionally, write the name of your new settlement! What shall be the name of your new future?

Clan Metalbeard

The famine, the wretched famine had given them no quarter, no chance to come up with a solution to save the starving people that lay in the mines. Children, dead by the hundred, many more adults and the once opulent dwarven holding in the Glimmering Mountain lord in ruin. It was hard, the land was supposed to be a new start for them, a hope for their dying Clan, instead it was a new living hell as old habits in a new land plagued them, following them from their homeland. It seemed that life was eager to force a lesson upon their stout forms.

“Marum, tell me when will our food situation balance out?,” croaked the voice of the hungry miner-king, not having eaten in days.

“Soon m’lord. Ye’ should eat, we would understand that ye’ need t’ keep ya strength,” The dwarf, Marum stated, setting his metal staff against the wall as he brought a plate to the miner-king and set it on the arm of the stone throne, carved by the king himself. “We will soon be able to sustain ourselves, there is not many left to feed and even in this time of starvation, we might be able to save ourselves.”

“Aye, but, we’ve lost so much. I fear that we may be too weak to keep our claim on the Glimmering Mountain,” Blackhand sighed, as he took the plate and looked down upon it, some stale bread and cooked meat. A chuckle from Marum took his attention.

“M’lord, we have a life ‘ere, we won’t leave unless we absolutely need to,” the metal priest stated, as he retrieved his staff and walked over to the side of his king liege. “Regardless, what shall we do?”

“We pray, pray that the metal spirits show us mercy.”

The Children of Artemon

The concept of another high elven nation seemed strange to the Children. To their minds to be a high elf is to be subject to the king, who rules over the high elves just like Orowuen rules over the gods, a divine mandate that must not be violated. So arrogant is their belief in this notion that their nation does not have a name, for all high elves belong to one and the same. Yet the Children were not blind to their own condition. They themselves had been estranged from their 'all-encompassing' nation, however much they cling to the notion that they are still the loyal subjects of their king. Equally these high elves may be descendants of some other group of exiles, lost to history. Perhaps the key to their origins can be found in the lore of the gods, for to the minds of the Children there must be an explanation for this unnatural division of their people. More than investigate old tomes, Craftspriest Aleon hoped to learn more about the gods of the Lothelonni from their own mouths and hopefully guide them onto the true path. All the same the Children were delighted to be among others of their own kin, no matter their misguided ways.

A) The reception of the refugees took more time and energy than anticipated and the plans for the watermill had been put on hold, but now the time had come. The work of the river is infinite and free and the skill of their craftsmen great, these resources must be put to use in building a watermill, to relieve them all of the antiquated labour of grinding flour by hand, as well as giving their bakers a steady supply of material. They had the wood to construct the mill and from the stones cleared from the countryside they could build bread ovens and a millstone. Their hope is that this will produce the surplus to allow more of them to devote themselves more fully to an urban style of life, concerned with artisanship rather than agriculture, even when they are really just a village.

G/E?) A new party of prospectors and scouts was sent northwest. The earlier findings had been intriguing and now they wanted to find out more. The scouts were there for protection but also to investigate the abandoned settlement. Were there any traces of the former inhabitants, what happened to them, where they might have gone? Maybe it had something to do with the Iceborn, though the small hovels were clearly not theirs to live in. The prospectors were to take a closer look at the caves, to see if there were any traces of minerals or mining. Assuming that they do not find the denizens, anything useful the party might find is naturally theirs to take.

Clan Metalbeard

The Rekindled Ironbeards

The tome, it said so much, giving knowledge to them that they would never had known and it told them of their ancestors. The great Ironbeards that they had defended from were the masters of metal, able to mold it with such a passion, just as the Clan did! It baffled Blackhand and Tankbeard when they had found out to have come from such an extensive line of smiths who made the finest of materials. Everything was so much to take in that the two hungry dwarves stared at each other for a few long mountains.

“We should bring the to the Elder Council,” Marum suggested, tearing his eyes away from the book.

“I’d rather shave me beard than give those old blokes more of a reason to dispose of me,” The king stated, looking around to see if there were any others around, there weren’t any others. “Gather the people, I have news to tell them.”

“As you wish m’lord,” the advisor stated with a bow, before turning and leaving Blackhand with the tome.

A mere hour later the populace had gathered in the courtyard of the old dwarven hold, as the King-Miner Blackhand stares down at the all. They conversed with one another after a few moments of silence from the King as the elders sat under him, awaiting for Blackhand to speak.

The King reached his hand out, a blackened hand that seemed to permanently bare soot from smithing work. The crowd went silent as the King began to speak with a booming voice, “My fellow dwarves, my clan mates, fellow Ironbeards! I have called ye all today because I have found an ancient tome, dating back to when the first clans were formed, one of those clans were our ancestors. It was the Ironbeards, shapers of metal, carers of those spirits that guide us through this dark time! We are masters of the smith and it is our duty to carry on the legacy of our forefathers, the same who have provided us with such a culture and the care of the metal spirits.”

“We must retake our birthright!,” The king slammed his blackened hand into the stone railing, “It is our duty to carry on, dying is not an option, the spirits have chosen us to carry on this flame! We will endure! We will carry on our passion!”

The people erupted into applause at the King’s rousing speech while the council conferred with one another, discussing how the people now are in support of Blackhand. Reluctantly, after their small conference, they clapped as well.

It seemed the winds were changing for the dwarven kind.

Elven Enclave

The sound of voices filled the small clearing that had become the home of the Enclave. Children ran and played near the center, while the five volunteers that had become the Enclaves first defenders stood watch around the perimeter. A member of the expedition had been an instructor for soldiers back in the Imperium before he retired to join the expedition. Now, he had begun to train a new generation of Elven warriors. It would take time, but they would eventually become the professional soldiers the Imperium was so proud of.

Within the clearing, everyone who wasn't on guard were hard at work constructing a series of houses in the trees above the ground. The Enclave had chosen this location because the sheer size of the trees would support the above ground abodes, giving security and safety to the Wood Elves. A small number were hard at work digging a small series of gardens around the bases of the trees. They had been able to save some seeds before all was lost in the wreck. It was slow progress, and it would take quite some time to be fully completed, but they would build a home here.

Archon Saleian was hard at work himself. He was leading by example to make sure everyone knew he was with them. He took a moment to stand back, wiping sweat away from his brow. He accepted a cup of water from a worker, before going back to binding boards together.

Summary:
A-Five Wood Elves begin training within the Enclave to become soldiers. Currently Militia.

B-Construction of housing has begun within the Enclave.

C-Minor food production has begun.

H) Expand Military

Dag answered Lydia, "Let the Gilbins rise from the shadows and fight us, then; they would only give us another chance to prove ourselves to Kjorn. And if Sigdar should succeed in his task, then the war god will be watching us closely."

The chieftain turned his gaze back out to the waves and the severed hand bobbing towards the shore. He suspected that fisherman's grim fate to be the work of sharks; what else could tear a man to shreds? It was an unfortunate loss, but one that could hardly be avenged. Still, for the next feast Dag would make sure that shark was the main fare.

While the newfound knowledge of skraelings upstream was indeed intriguing, it would not do to march so far by land and leave Dagshall exposed. Whether they wanted to trade or go to war with the skraelings, they would need more ships. The second longship was a good start, but they would need a small fleet before more serious excursions inland or around the continent could become feasible.

The Orc-Grave Swamp Enclave

"And everything was going so well..." Gredy mumbled quietly to himself as his hand rested against his forehead, rubbing his temples to try and work through the headache that was quickly forming. Life was hard at the Enclave and food was an ever present issue, but with the assistance of their black skinned kin mining had gotten underway and proper homes were slowly but surely being built in the mountains. A troll settlement was one of the last things that they needed to have to worry about right now...

After about an hour of considering possibilities to himself on his own, an idea had arisen from Gredy's mind that showed promise. He tried examining it from several different angles with no real downside showing itself. Content that it was the right way to go, he quickly decided to track down several other goblins who he needed to discuss the matter with in order to get it underway.

............................................

"I think I know what your talking about... I remember a few of the orcs had things like that. They were called crossbows I think." Roxy said as she thought aloud, her ear twitching as Gredy waited for her to say something more. "Might need to talk to a few others, maybe make a few prototypes to work on the designs... How soon do you need these and how many do you want?"

"Soon as you can and as many as you can give me." Gredy answered back quickly. "Way I see it, if we start training and equipping the hunters with crossbows, not only will they have an easier time getting food but we'll be in a stronger position to defend ourselves. Don't need to be as strong as an orc to use a crossbow properly."

C) Improve Infrastructure

With several months having passed since the clan first arrived on the continent, it was decided by the elder dwarves that it was time to build more permanant homes. With that goal firmly in mind, a sizable group of dwarves was formed. These dwarves were to take up the task of heading to the mountain, to the area the river came out of, and building a city for them to take up residence in.

It was decided now where their first permanent homes would be, and many a dwarf looked forward to it.

Ava Shieldbreaker

A) Improve Food

The day began anew, with it a new age in which the Metalbeards would grow and flourish as they once had before the great fall. Yet, there was one thing they would need to do before they could leave their mountain home and search the surface for other things, they needed to bring back their food to a sustainable level as to avoid what lead to the fall. While Blackhand organized a small, yet smart team, one dwarf was taking initiative while the others were planning. The dwarven woman, Ava Shieldbreaker, stood at the entrance of their hold, gazing out onto the landscape surrounding the mountain, lush trees and green earth.

“There are plants that grow under those tall trees, ya know?,” a wizened old voice said.

Ava turned to see the old figure of Marum with his metal staff. “Ya? Then why don’t they grow ‘ere?,” she asked, crossing her arms together.

“Have you seen a plant grow in darkness?”

“...No.”

Marum gave out a kind laugh, looking upon the woman who had turned her attention back to the lush forests. “There is your answer. Now, what are you going to do with it?”

It was a realization, Ava looked back to the metal speaker only to see that he was gone, he sure could move quick for an old man. Though, there was no time to ponder that, she had work to do, much work but it would help them all. While the others planned, she dug, while they ate the rations, she moved the little seed they had, and while they slept she was filling the earth. She would not let her children starve, that would be a fate worse than death.

Marum’s words had gone far to inspire her, no more would the dwarves feast upon dying crop from the back of the cave, now they would eat from the crop that was at the entrance of their hold. The next morning, Blackhand and his crew found her tending to her new, small farm.

“What are ye doin’ lass,” one of the men asked.

“Farmin’. Plants can’t grow without light, ya know,” Ava repeated, before the men took up their tools and followed her lead.

Elven Enclave

A-Improve Food
E-Explore

Archon Saleian walked slowly through the forest, two of the Elven soldiers-in-training walking closely on his heels. Construction was going well back in New Haven, with several houses already habitable, though not fully complete as of yet. The gardens had been completed, those having taken much less time than Saleian had anticipated. Several Earth-Singers within the Enclave had already begun talks of enchanting the soil to help food grow faster. Saleian had tentatively given his approval, though he figured they might not have much luck. He didn't know how well their magic would work this far away from the Capital.

Leaving everything in charge of his second in command, Saleian had taken two of the soldiers with him to explore the forest New Haven was being constructed in. Already, they had spotted several different species of animal for which further study would be needed. Despite their dire circumstances, this new land was proving to be a wonder for discovery.

The Orc-Grave Swamp Enclave

Considering that the creation of a solid military grade weapon would not only go far in securing the defense of their new lands, but also go a long way to securing a food supply via the method of both dealing with the predators that lurked in the swamp and thus securing areas where farming efforts could be properly established, Gredy gave the team working on the creation of their crossbows what they needed to get results. In fact, whenever he wasn't doing the whole leader thing of 'putting out fires' around camp, he worked on the project with them himself.

The Children of Artemon

Life in Duinmelamar felt increasingly idyllic. They were growing, prospering. Their bellies were full and their hands busy. There was once again time for dance, music and games. They were no longer simply on the run, struggling to survive; they had made a new home for themselves. But they could never forget the hardships they suffered on the way here, nor the hardships that may yet come. At Celebrimbor, they had been at the brink of annihilation. Their brothers, sons and fathers had not only been beaten in battle but devoured by the foul orcs and in the days that followed they had allowed themselves to be gripped by panic and despair. During their entire journey to where Duinmelamar now lies they had been practically defenceless and would have been hopeless victims to any threat they might have faced.

Some desired that the council put their energy towards building a temple, where they might pray for the health of their future children among other things. But what purpose would that serve, when at any moment the Iceborn could sail up the river and put it to the torch? They could not afford to be naive. The Iceborn had not been explicitly hostile to them but neither had they done anything to engender their trust. The orcs, however far away they might be, still roamed this continent and in every direction new threats might lurk. Council leader Halwen made it clear that their priority must be defence.

B/C) What the elves lacked in number, they must make up in quality. They might lack the metals to create the best of armors, but the giant's leather was known to be particularly tough. The leatherworkers would get to work on hardening it and fashioning it into armor, so that their soldiers may be better protected. More ambitiously, the carpenters and workers were to get to work on constructing a proper wall to surround their settlement, with gates, platforms and towers that their bowmen may shoot from. The rivers were also to be blocked as to stop ships from directly entering the village from the east and west. Effective fortifications would be a great equaliser against a numerically superior force.

X) Other:

"So Kjorn is watching us, and you have won us his favor," the chieftain proclaimed, for to Dag this runestone of obviously magical properties was evidence enough of that. "You said that this appeared after you slew the bear, Sigdar? Then this is your prize, and it is a fool who rejects the boon offered unto him by a god. You must take this flame back to the settlement, and then perhaps we will discover what power or meaning it holds."

With the decree made, the chieftain was quick to return to Dagshall. His people needed him now, for this new enemy in the sea could strike at any moment and the Iceborn would need to be prepared. As Kjorn's champion, it fell to Sigdar to bring the flame back to Dagshall; if simply setting aflame a stick and bringing the flame back with that torch proved impossible, he would arrange to have the entire runestone dragged out of the forest.

Shortly after visiting the runestone, Dag oversaw preparations in his settlement. While the tribesmen capable of battle gathered their arms and shields and steeled themselves for battle, Dag and some of the elders tried to talk sense back into the survivors of the recent attack.

The Antari

X.-) Other (Implement the Crossbow)

The days in which there was peace were now long over and they now knew that warfare would be quite different from the one the where used to back on their homeland, back there warfare was an affair of dozens of thousands, with soldiers moving at the unison of the voice of the general and his officers, but here every man had to think quick and smart if they wanted to live. The Antari took quick notice of this and they decided that it would be better to start to focus on improving the military might of their small kingdom. This time the one assigned for this task was Rano Rancor because of his intellect that was fit for the task of reverse-engineering the crossbow for the use of the Antari, he would be helped by Manco, who had also shown quite the interest on the crossbow.

X.-) Try to get the Lizard to Talk

In the meanwhile, Amari Asto would focus on trying to get more knowledge about the Lizards and for this he decided to speak to the captured lizard, he would use one of the tactics that had been most used back in his homeland and that was that of etiquette and diplomacy, and of course some bribing and show of force so that the Lizard either became loyal to his new master or died.
