History:
Lariel was born to a peasant family in the poorest slum of the capital city well outside of the Royal Families home in the keep, only just inside the outerwalls. Her mother and father were butchers not the fancy ones the high born had, but butchers of just about anything rats, dogs, cats, horses if they got lucky the occasional not entirely spoiled slab of beef or pork. Her father died just after her ninth birthday in a drunken dispute with some men ovee paying for the food he had prepared, that was the day Lariel learned men voided their bowels when they died. She killed her first man at eleven as he slept promised a gold coin by a braggard outside of a tavern, a promise which he upheld to the girl paying her when she returned with the mans ear as proof. As she got older Lariel decided that killing men.... Well people in general was her best way out of the slums, she learned to steal to move unseen and unheard and most effectively kill. Her mother passed from fever when she was fourteen and Lariel at this point had already gotten her first sword, a horribly battered iron hunk with an edge which even with constant care never seemed to hold.
Lariel left the capital after being chased by guardsmen after an incident in a brothel involving a noblemans wife, before she left however she killed a guard and took his blade in place of her own. With her new sword and a horse 'borrowed' from the stablemaster Lariel set out to make her fourtune as a sellsword. She roamed from inn to inn town to town, shithole to shithole and slowly became more adept at her trade, losing never though she never fought with 'honor' as knights called it but sense as she saw it. At twenty she joined a company of sellswords and fought in a few skirmishes with bandits and highwaymen, this carried on till around the age of twenty four till she left again on her own. Working for minor nobles killing other minor nobles, illegitimate children, nosy mistresses whoever so long as the gold was paid and the price was right. When the King decided to revive the Royal Hunters and called for fighters Lariel figured it would be a good opportunity to make some gold and possibly work her way into some position of esteem; not that she cared for responsibility or gallantry but simply to milk it till it was no longer in her best interest.
