Building a ‘network’ of proven players you like to write with helps with recruiting in ongoing RPs I’ve learned.

@SleepingSilence I doubt like 20 people would stop all at once, and even if they did, then you just look for new, trustworthy people.

@Ammokkx That a humble brag? Jk. ;3

It was mostly a rhetorical question. :P

If you don't like a roleplay, don't claim you're too depressed to roleplay or make something or whatever, and then make new junk less than a day later and proceed to start up new things less than a week after and be basically perfectly fine while dumping the thing that apparently made you do depressed about things.

Just say you don't like the roleplay anymore. Pity points not awarded. Honesty points are.

Reverse rant... knowing you're so caught up with excess work and errands so you're sitting in your car on you're phone during your smoko break adding to the CS which you are writing for the RP you wanna join.

Not so much a Rant

, theres also the GM regular refresh because your RP is new and you want to try and get it to work out and be a success when you went to effort of writing a city and 10 plus locations with coding And images for every one.

My attitude towards that kind of effort is that I simply don't make it unless I can reverse engineer it into something else in the event the roleplay fails.

If I spend hours on a nation or character or roleplay, and nobody ultimately gives a damn, then it's OK as I've made it in such a way that I could just build it into my own canons. Hence, minimal loss of the energies.

I have so many things I want to vent about, but I feel myself getting less confident every single day. I'm afraid of speaking up about anything because I'm afraid people will take it the wrong way and feel attacked or worse. I don't even know why sometimes. Heck, even now, I've rewritten this thing about five times now.

Then I also think I'm being an attention hog, or whatever. Feels like my self-confidence gets lower each day and I don't know what to do about it.

@Ammokkx I've learned to not give a damn what others think about what you want to say. If you don't make it personal. It isn't. No matter who whines about it. Simple as that. It's a vent thread, just because members are -allowed- to be attack dogs with virtually no punishment or even waggle of a finger. Doesn't mean you should censor yourself.

My quick bitching topic since I'm here and literally have been bitched at because I didn't bitch about roleplaying. Because people can't help themselves. Brainstorming is great, but try to actually -do- work/writing. Don't spend so long telling me what you're going to do. Just do it...*insert obvious meme here* write your CS, write your post, write so nobodies time is wasted! Roleplaying requires consistent writing. If you can't try write something well and write it when others need it, don't pretend that you want to roleplay.

@SleepingSilence I appreciate the effort, but I didn't post that to throw a pity party for myself. I also think that mentality is just... wrong and inconsiderate.

@Ammokkx I didn't mean to give you pity. I was merely being blunt.

In your own theoretical situation when people are attacking you for things that you yourself admit that you don't mean to offend people by. You've already shown, they don't care about context. If you follow me...It's not wrong to think, context matters. If you post something to not be offensive or personal and people take it that way...so what? Should you feel sorry for people that aren't wise enough to have critical thinking skills? 'Their' already being inconsiderate in this scenario, of you getting flak for something that you just want to be honest about. Judging first, and not asking questions. But I digress.

Well my roleplay annoyances come in the package of no interest over interest mostly, drops in the planning phase of a roleplay, the other person not being there, life and possible loss of confidence.

every once in a while it would be nice if people reacted to my characters actions more than a tiny amount, maybe I'm doing things wrong and need to force myself into a scene in the most bombastic way possible, but i never really dig doing that

My pet grumble is GM's who create exceptionally detailed sandbox towns to play in with various plots of interest. The players ignore said plots and turn into 1-1 hook-ups. Inevitably player attrition develops and you have a bunch of people lost, in need of a cold shower etc. Meanwhile, the GM who put the place together initially effectively gives up on helping others make the place interesting.

Perhaps the flounce was in response to everyone going to the corners to cuddle rather than interact with the setting...

Right now I am just generally pissed off. I gave my Rp's a bit of a break, so people could catch up, not worry about counters and such. I ended up getting injured, severe nerve damage to my hand, so I didn't check the forum for a bit to see how things were going. I came back today to see that during this down time not a single Rper in any Rp had done anything.... So now we are even further behind than we were before. Needless to say I am pissed.

I did this to people could breath and post when they could, not to stop 6 RPS across the board entirely! Right now, I am finding it really damn hard not to just chuck it and shut down each and every one. I know it is a GM's job to keep things moving but I had thought that some would at least use this downtime to catch up in places they hadn't posted in so when we got back to it I wasn't still waiting on them. Obviously I was wrong.

Between the pain, lack of posts, lack of personal responsibility, and so forth... Yeah, to put it mildly I am disappointed.

Sometimes some general downtime is useful. As an one time occurrence, the above really doesn't sound so horrible.

There's not much that can be done, either, if the same case occurs across six roleplays. Indicates there's more than just a couple rogues saying "I'mma be a rebel and not post!"

[@Lady Amalthea] As much as you're disappointed and mad, the situation isn't good nor bad. It just is. How you handle it is what matters and at the end, you just have to make a choice. For now, I suggest you should calm down without rush and fuss and then a good conversation with these roleplayers will perhaps solve the problem.

*reading someone's else RP OC rules, and giving a broad/changed example*

-You can only have one trait
-MAKE SURE YOU WRITE SOMETHING DETAILED FOR ALL/EVERY TRAITS!
-Don't post a lot of unnecessary things.
-I control the day. So there.
-I am GM so Im important.
-Correct errors in writing.

Please...just stop. You're giving everyone reading an aneurysm.

Seriously, some GM's don't seem to understand they're such things as 'less is more' when coming up with rules. And for heaven's sake use some brevity.

*crosses fingers*

@Lady Amalthea Also, sucks to hear about the injury. Looks like you've recovered, so that's nice. ^-^
