The Autumn foliage dazzled with brilliant colors as the leaves twirled down and settled at the ground, where they remained. Great bluffs rose out from the limestone and small creeks were sewn into the earth, where the waters provided and sustained life for wildlife and humans in the area.
It was early October, of 1134 AD. Much of the land was yet untamed and undisturbed. However, there were a few notable settlements scattered about this forested land. Smoke wafted up from open, rudimentary fires and small bands of poachers scavenged through the peaceful woodlands on the lookout for game. During the cool, crisp nights, the rugged huntsmen would gather round their small fires, a pitiful force in driving back the inky nights and spoke in hushed tones. They too, had seen it, the game they hunted for was one and the same as the infernal legions that thundered down below.
The rays of light burned Grandmother Demon Wolf's eyes as she emerged from the portal. Raising one arm, she shielded the sun with her bare forearm as she pulled the tan tunic tightly around her frame. Behind her there was a gaping portal and in front of her, the other demons who had also been been sent from Hell to stop The Forsaken.
Glancing around, Grandmother could see they were in a large forest, large juniper trees and elms towered over them. Pine nettles littered the floor, she prodded a few of the nettles with her sturdy leather boots. There was a hideous cacophony of noise produced by the bugs. Grandmother hadn't been to the surface personally in ages, but with some surveying of the scenery, she deduced they were somewhere in central Europe, most likely around the southern regions of France.
The humidity was beginning to bother her already, she whimpered slightly and waved a hand towards her face, attempting to break up the stifling heat waves. She hated this weak human form she had to assume already. Sighing, she brushed her black hair out of her face and readjusted the wrap which was slowly sliding down her face before giving one last glance towards the shrinking portal. Deciding she needed to address the small troop of demons who were loitering around she hesitantly turned to face them,
"It looks like everyone's here."
She nodded towards everyone as she tightened the golden rope haphazardly looped around her waist. The strange thing, she noticed, was that the presence of birds was completely null. She didn't know whether birds frequented this area often or not, but it was strange not to see any in the surrounding trees or hear their distinguished squawking and bickering among the canopy. Not too far off in the distance, she could hear the rough voices of men and heavy footsteps crunching on the leaves.
(@LunarisDaFox, @QueenNugget, @Huggo, @ReveTheDreamer, @CherryWitch, Here's the first post! So sorry for the delay! Events that I believed where held off for this weekend unexpectedly cropped up and as a result, I wasn't able to be online for very long and dedicate any time towards this. This the first roleplay I've hosted on this site, I hope this post is alright and that everyone's still interested! If any of you have questions regarding the setting, feel free to ask OOC)
