Story Thus Far/Recap
The shinobi lands rejoice! Iwagakure and Konoha come together for the first time in many years, on the 20th anniversary of the last great Shinobi war. Chunnin gathered from both great nations to become jonin, but as they gathered in peace, an old evil returned to the living. Seijuro Nandate, Puppet Master and leader of the organization Yomigaeri plotted behind the scenes. Killed many years ago by legendary village heroes Jaakuna Aka and the now Hokage, Ginsho Omawarisan.
As chunin gathered for the exam, the village was suddenly attacked by a mysterious force. Jaakuna Aka, dead for twenty years, had returned to the land of the living. Joined by known criminals Sano of the deep and Havoc, master of gravity. The three men were led by the reanimated Seijuro, and they attacked the chunin while they were on their exam.
The valiant chunin managed to fight off the deadly shinobi, but they could not stop tragedy. Ginsho Omawarisan was slain in battle with Jaakuna Aka, and the village wept.
At the funeral, the Hokage's aide took center stage. Revealing himself to be Ginsho's twin sibling, Shinko, and the true heir to the Hokage title. While the nation mourned, Shinko sought retribution against the man he believed responsible for the death of his beloved sibling. Placing the blame squarely on the shoulders of the Mizukage, Ocha Kyusu. Ocha was tried at the Kage Summit, and despite Ocha's evidence to the contrary, the accusations piled up. Ocha was taken into custody by the Tsuchikage, leaving the village of the Mist in the hands of his trusted apprentice and bodyguard.
All the while, Yomigaeri continued to plot, well aware of the rising tides that would soon devour the shinobi world in violent war.
This is the world you have arrived in.
