Tommy Lomax

Location: Footsteps Sports Bar, Sunday

Footsteps was hopping, as it was most Sundays. The first kickoff of the day had been at eleven in the morning and last game didn’t end until a quarter til ten. And as it was with most Sundays that meant that the bar was packed from just after doors opened and until they were locked at eleven. Tommy had been planning on spending the afternoon running some errands and stopping by Luna Sports but unfortunately his plans had shifted suddenly when Laura, one of the waitresses, had been forced to call out after her babysitter canceled on her. This instead meant that Tommy was filling in on the wait staff for the afternoon and evening, not that he minded too much as the unpredictability of the bar was one of his favorite aspects of it. After the place was locked up and the staff had departed for the night Tommy gave the bar a once over and made sure the place was ready for the next day.

Location: Old Harbour, Late Sunday Night

After a busy day Tommy found himself relaxing in the living room of his Westwood drinking his preferred drink, a simple run and coke. Tommy often spent his late nights in a similar manner to this. Tonight Tommy was pairing his drink with some low volume music, mostly Ghost. It was a simple way to spend his night but it was a good way to relax. It was so relaxing in fact that Tommy found himself falling asleep right there in his recliner.

Location: still Old Harbour, Monday Morning

It had been relaxing when he had been sitting in the chair, listening to music and drinking but now that he was waking up having slept there for the last seven or so hours it was the exact opposite. Standing up from the chair Tommy could feel his back popping as the kinks attempted to work themselves, more importantly though he could feel his left knee attempting to give out on him. Looking around he couldn’t find his cane, falling back into his chair it was only a few seconds until he realized that he had somehow forgotten it in his car the night before. Navigating his way through the boat using the walls and furniture to keep himself from falling he made his to the bedroom where after some struggling and rooting around in the closet before he eventually found his other cane. Limping around the boat Tommy set about his morning routine, but at about three quarter the normal speed. Once he was finally dressed and ready for the day it was time to make the hobble out to the parking lot.

Location: Sol City, Monday Evening

After spending the afternoon at Footsteps, making sure everybody came in and that they were ready for the evening rush Tommy had excused himself for the rest of the evening, leaving instructions with Ellie to lock up at the end of the night. He hadn’t really decided what he was going to do with this rare autumn night off when he had left the bar but he had decided he didn’t want to spend the day stuck in his office or working on his bad leg. After he had pulled out of the parking lot at Footsteps he swung by The Coffee Pot, his second time there that day, to top off on his thermos. While waiting at the counter to get his coffee he noticed a flier on the counter that he had missed that morning. It advertised the Monday Night Blues and Jazz at Swan Songs, it was a reoccurring event in Sol City but Tommy had never actually stopped by for the show. With his evening free and not having any other plans Tommy left from The Coffee Pot and got on the freeway heading towards Riverside. As he pulled onto the freeway, looking at the display on his car’s dash he knew he was going to miss the opening of the show but on the upside he was already dressed to meet the requirements.

Ren White

Monday morning, Riverside

Ren's apartment smelled of freshly brewed coffee. Rays of sunlight were shining in through the windows, and there were birds chirping outside. Steam escaped the bathroom door as Ren stepped out of the shower, a towel wrapped around his waist. Stepping into his walk in closet, Ren surveyed his possible options. The wardrobe's clothing's had a colour range from jet black to dark grey, making matching outfits an easy task. He put on a pair of black, tight jeans and a dark grey turtleneck. Then he removed a deep blue coloured blazer from it's hanger and pulled his arms through. Opening the drawer in his vanity, Ren took out a burgundy coloured box. The insides were covered with velvet fabric, and  obtained his collection of watches that he'd been given by his father through out the years. After he turned sixteen he'd usually get one every Christmas, and the collection had grown quite large. Running his fingers over the watches one after another, his fingers came to a halt at a slim, black "Master Ultra Thin Moon" Jaeger le Coultre watch. It was simple and elegant in design, with a moon phase dial on the case. He strapped it on his wrist, and gave his arm a tentative stretch to admire the small piece of art. A smile tugging on his lips. At least he has good taste, he thought about his father.

Back in the bathroom Ren slicked his hair back with a gel, not wanting it to get in his eyes. He sprayed a dash of cologne as a finishing touch, before walking into the living room. His trusty bag full of books were standing by the door. Looking down at his wrist watch, the time read 08:27. His private chauffeur was probably waiting outside the front door of the apartment building, so Ren grabbed his bag and locked the door behind him.

"Good morning mister White." The porter gave him a slight bow of his head. "Your chauffeur is waiting out front." He continued as he opened the door for him.

"Thank you." Ren didn't even spare the porter a glance a as he stepped onto the pavement. His chauffeur, William, was waiting in front of his Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupé - a birthday present from a few years back from his parents.

"Good morning, Ren. You look well today. Did you have a good nights rest?" The man had a warm smile on his youthful face, and reached out his white-gloved hand to open the car door for Ren.

"I suppose." Ren had fallen asleep much faster than he usually did last night. Blame it on the alcohol or the socializing he'd done at the Old Starboard, but it was lights out as soon as his head hit the pillows.

"Are we going straight to the university or do you need to make a stop on the way?"

As Ren had already made his own coffee in the morning, there was no point in stopping by the Coffee Pot as he, and many other students, often did before lectures. "I'm good. I don't want to be late for my classes."

When Ren finally got his parents on board on him moving out, they insisted that he'd at least take some of their household staff with him. Ren had refused, but after a long time of back and forth they finally made a compromise - Ren didn't have to bring a maid and a butler if he brought William with him to drive him around safely. William had worked for their family over 10 years. He'd probably been in his early twenties when he started, because he didn't look a day over 30. Naturally he'd been around while Ren grew up, and they developed a sort of friendship during the years at the White manor.

The car engine hummed as they rolled out on the street. There was a roughly 30 minute drive to the university depending on traffic, but Ren didn't mind. He put on his headphones and listened to his newest obsession, Gin Wigmore, while leaning his head against the window pane.

Monday noon, Solaris University

On the back of his paper it read "one hundred percent". Naturally, Ren thought to himself. The class was humming with whispers between the students, talking about their grades. The professor walked up to his podium, cleared his throat loudly, and began his lecture on the skeletal system.

A few hours later Ren was sitting in the study hall reading, when three girls approached him. The one in the front was fidgeting with her purse strap, while the two behind her nudged her forward.

"Hi Ren." She looked at him, before quickly averting her eyes. "Congratulations on your paper. You're best in the class as always." She smiled sweetly, then opened her mouth before closing it again. The girl on her right poked her elbow in her side impatiently.

Ren cocked an eyebrow, looking up from his book. "Yes, well. It was an easy assignment. Only a true idiot would get a score below eighty percent." He noticed how one of the girls eyes widened, suddenly looking embarrassed. And it seems like you are one of them, he thought to himself. "May I help you with something?"

The girl in the front chewed on her lower lip, straightening her back. "You see, I'm hosting a party tonight… You should totally come. If, like, you want to, I mean."

The girl on her right chimed in. "Yeah, we've already invited a bunch from our class, and some other people too, but it'd be cool if you'd show up."

The third girl was blushing furiously, and without even saying a word she held out an invitation with the address before quickly dashing away. The two other girls embarrassedly excused their friend, said their goodbyes and ran after her.

Ren was stating dumbfounded after them. The girls were in his class, but had never spoken to him previously. A party, huh. That could be fun. Even though Ren didn't have many close friends, he was used to being invited to events. Everybody loved having rich kids at their parties, hoping they would bring expensive alcohol, party drugs or something crazy like a limousine with a hot tub. He was better at socializing at parties anyways than he would be during the day, so he didn't really mind. It was a good distraction.

Monday evening, Riverside

As the Solaris University was a prestigious university, most of the students there came from rich families. Therefore there was a large student community on the Riverside where they lived in luxury apartments paid out of their parents pockets. The party was hosted in a big apartment just a few blocks away from Ren's place.

Ren stepped out of the car, as William had insisted on dropping him off. There were music and loud chatter from a balcony, so finding the right place was no trouble. The porter in the building told Ren the floor and apartment number, and he went into the elevator. Without knocking on the door, Ren went inside. There was music blasting from the stereo, people dancing on the floor, grinding up against each other, almost everybody with a glass in their hand. Nobody seemed the least concerned with drinking on a weekday.

"You came!" A shrill voice pierced his ears, and the girl from earlier pushed through a couple who were vigorously making out. She had long, dark hair. Almost black in contrast to Ren's bright locks. She wore a tight, red dress with a split revealing her thigh.

"You sound surprised. I simply had to come after you went to the trouble of inviting me in person. You look quite charming tonight." Ren said smoothly. He hadn't really paid her looks any attention, but he found it amusing how easy it was to make the girl flustered.

"Oh you, I bet you say that to all the girls." She blushed and tried to laugh it off. "Come, I'll introduce you to some of the others." Ren walked around with the girl he didn't' even remember the name of, talking to different people, downing drink after drink.

A group of people were lounging in the living room. Ren noticed the other two girls from earlier, a couple of guys from their class and some new faces. The conversation was loose and they talked about this and that while drinks were poured. "There's someone I'd like you all to meet. My friend, Molly." A tall guy with a mischievous grin on his face leaned over the coffee table as he pulled out a plastic bag with colorful little pills inside. Some of the others chuckled, some had wide eyes. The bag was passed around the group, and Ren picked out a red, heart shaped one. "Bottoms up." The guy cheered loudly. Ren shrugged. What the hell. He took a big sip of his drink, and the pill was gone.

Ren was feeling euphoric. He had no idea what time it was or if the pill had affected him yet, but he realized he didn't care. All he cared about was how enticing the beat of the music was. The music sent shivers down his spine, and suddenly he needed to move his body. Now.  Pushing his way through the crowd he disappeared into the waves of dancing people. His head swayed in time with the beat, eyes half closed and arms in the air. Someone was feeling up his chest, and though it felt amazing he didn't care who it was. He bumped into somebody's back and they started a playful game of pushing against each other. The crowd was moving like a fish steam, one united being with a hive mind.

"Oy, that's my girlfriend you asshole!" Before Ren understood that the comment was directed at him, a fist connected with his jawline. He stumbled back, bumping into another guy.

Squinting his eyes, Ren stood up. He took a step towards the other man. "And here I was thinking the Neanderthals were extinct."

"You fucking watch your mouth. I'll kick your ass!" He balled up his fists, but before the man could land another punch Ren kicked him in the gut. The guy groaned, and reeled back.

"Stop it! Maya, come help!" A girl shouted.

The girl hosting the party, Maya, came rushing to the scene."Really Nate, stop being so jealous. You know Brittany clings up on everybody when she's drunk." She motioned for some of the guys to get Nate out of there, before turning to Ren. "Oh, your jaw is a little red." She reached out her hand, but stopped it in the air between them before pulling it back, "Do you wanna, like, go somewhere? Some of the others were talking about some jazz thing down at the record shop. We can still make it, I think."

"You're leaving your own party?" Ren touched his jaw. It was beginning to bruise and hurt a lot more than he'd expected.

"The butler comes back at midnight to oversee everything. It's fine." She called out some names and within minutes they were a little gang of people who left the apartment, making their way up to the Swan Song's.

Monday evening, Swan Song's

Kicking the door open, the group entered the small venue. Ren was too caught up in some lame joke being told to notice the people already inside. They made their way over to a sitting area in the back with a couch and some chairs, slumped down and continued their chatter and laughter.

Victoria Darya Romus

Swan Songs . Monday Evening

In a soft English accent the young woman spoke as she buckled I to the Taxi. It would be good to get a social event and have some fun.

"Swan Songs, jazz evening please."

Victoria was in a rush, the taxi was stuck in nose to tail traffic and the city traffic was just getting worse and worse as time seemed to drag on. The trip was expensive, though her half sister had left early before she got back after her flight.

Despite being close sisters they could never quite get right any idea of a unified scedule, both where too independent and sometimes had small arguments over it. All normal between sisters but she was not exactly normal, looking in the reflection in dark window her pale snow like skin, extreme pale blonde and done up in a intricate and rather time intensive serris of platts.

She has been "Normal" until she caught a rare illness, though she survived it had taken a heavy cost, 4'9, slight build and skin more like pale snow, a cane too completed the ensemble. Normal was not a word that described Victoria Darya Romus.

...

The venue was warming up now, music was starting up and the groups of people where growing round a few tables and sofa that filled the edges of the room. A long bar was in one area and all semed designed to center on the stage. A performer, nervous, maybe there first time stepped up. the first notes faltered but grew in confidence and soon had the room buzzing as lively jazz almost hung in the air even when the music stopped. It was definitely the place to be on a Monday evening!

...

Marilania leaned back and watched the locals gathering, sipping on a mock tail, sex on the beach minus the alcohol so she could drive but still fun, sweet and that bit more special than a coke or some other boring soft drink. A little black dress was always a reliable choice when unsure, fitted well and cut above the knee it showed off a athletic figure well and a ernough leg to not escape notice.

Newcomers, but the woman stuck out the most in a daring black and white dress, fedora and alot of confidence. Certainly a cut above the average on the fashion stakes, and began to make her think that she missed a trick going for the good old classic.

Oh, Ren, finaly someone she recognised. He seemed with. Group but he certainly scrubbed up well, the outfit suited him and seemed alot more relaxed and comfortable than the time at the old starboard.

Lastly there was a taller man, walking with a slight limp maybe, built heavily, looked like he might of played sports or maybe military? The place was full of new comers as she decided to say hi.

Passing the woman in the daring dress she gave her a smile and a friendly nod of approval In passing, though a slight bit of jealously at that dress... She looked hot... She was looking about, maybe it was her first time her. could not hurt to be kind.

Her accent as distinctly English, years of travel not softened it yet.

"hey, nice dress, enjoy the evening"

Walking over to the table she smiled and looked over to Ren, far different to the lazy skit and track jacket, little black dress, make up, heals. Bit more lady like than last time! he was with a group, but she knew him so felt ok walking up, drawing the odd jelous glance which confirmed her choice of outfit. Speaking in a distinct English accent, friendly and fairly light hearted. He scrubbed up well.

"hey cutie, ..its me, Marlin from the old Starboard... Seems we both can scrub up well, mind if i join ya?"

Night off... text books won't know what to do!

Sure, she was deliberately going abit far, but she felt in a good mood, she was not meaning to totally flirt just have a laugh, tease a a little maybe

...

Victoria arrived behind swan songs where they hosted the venue, good job it was indoors! Dressed in a fairly daring and elegant pale blue dress, backless and full lengh. It was probbly way to much but you could never over dress? The cold autumn air made her regret her choice slightly as ghostly pale skin tingled in the chill of the slowing turning winter air, a delicate platt swaying slightly in the wind and as she slowly made her way pass swansongs.

Walking in things where picking up as she passed a taller man, well built and looked much like a athlete, the past was always out to remind her of what she could had, passing by slowly though he seemed to limp. Maybe he might not be so bad. Maybe he had faced his issues too.

Turning back to the man, she gave him a friendly wave, sure it might be random but broken people had to look out for each other. He probably did not deserve to be insulted and likely had faced hard times of his own.

"Enjoy the evening, Hope it lives up to its reputation. first timer. "

Heading over to the bar, leaning the walking stick slightly against as she rested one arm on the bar and waved over to a waiter.

"White wine, large please"

Sipping her drink she finally saw her sister, wearing that dress she got in London, and a passing a woman in a daring choice of outfit towards a table chatting with a man in a nice suit. Well well Marlin, you never mention a guy in Sol... Well well...

...

Smirking slightly as she walked over to the table, one arm leaned heavily on a walking stick and tapped Marilania on the shoulder.

"So.. Hiding things Mali.. Never mentioned a gentleman when you said this event this morning"

With a surprise, Marilania turned and gently hugged her Half sister, bending slightly at the knee being 8-9 inches shorter than Victoria, but both shared matching almost identical grey eyes, and close enough to be sisters.

The similarity ended though, one taller athletic, her sister, under 5 foot, Pale as snow and extremely slim, despite everything she never had fully recovered and was slight even for her height.

"Vika! oh.. Victoria, Ren, My Sister, Half by the book, Sister in every other sense, met him... il explain later..."

going a little bit pink at Victorias rather awkward approach, before putting a arm over her shoulder and seeming happier she decided to attend.

"Thanks, Victoria Romus, I like long stories... i guess this ones interesting.. mind if i sit down... i kinda less steady on feet"

Giving a nervous smile and sipping her glass of wine, while leaning on the stick for support, jet lag starting to kick in along with the wine.

Sasha Zhenya Kuznetsov

Monday Morning, Undisclosed Apartment building

Sasha let off an undignified yawn as he attempted to pulled himself off the floor of his crappy apartment; after a multitude of failed efforts he resigned himself to lying still for the time being. Despite its garish appearance at least the off-colored carpet was relatively comfortable. Sasha felt like an utter mess as memories from last night whizzed around in his head causing a slight migraine. Ugh, perhaps he indulged in his vices a little to liberally last night…might have to dial things back in the future. Sasha couldn’t help pondering as he shakily rose to his feet how much of last night’s odd events were chemically induced, the result of his unfortunate tumble, or from a yet unseen part of his inner self. Those weighty thoughts were hastily shaken off as they were obviously better examined by a trained professional perhaps an impromptu visit to the esteemed psychological guru Dr. Allister Huxley was in order. It was bemusing that Dr. Huxley was so derided by the medical community sure the guru was forced to appear on a plethora of occasions in front of the Senate’s consumer protection panel due to supposedly promoting miracle cures, but Primal Scream therapy despite not be empirically proven was always quite exhilarating.

Sasha poured himself a glass of orange juice before taking “The Chairman” off the kitchen counter. While, the $5000 burner phone in his clutch was the Vertu Constellation coated in legitimate alligator skin “The Chairman” was his true preferred cellular device. The android powered phone designed by Swiss watch manufacturer, Ulysse Nardin, featured a kinetic rotor power system visible through the backplate and around 3,000 hand-cut 17-karat diamonds adorning the faceplates; it retailed for around $ 130,000. Sasha perused his missed text messages on his bedazzled phone and it seemed that most were from his beloved Uncle updating him on mundane business matters, what a shame…how utterly droll. Hmm, it seemed he had one voicemail he overlooked from an unknown number. It would be easy enough to just delete it as it was probably spam, but then again perhaps not. Sasha listened to the message, but the recording was so garbled that even on repeat listens he could not make heads or tails of it. All Sasha could piece together was the following conversation that was held in Russian.

Voice one was that of a man who spoke soft and slow, “…Sixteen Hour Flight from Moscow to Sol City is quite daunting to say the least. I’ve never even been on a plane before…”

The retort was by a voice whose age and gender were hard to determine “…I bet he owns his plane that ric...I do not understand we are attempting to even reach…those were not his wish…”

“Enough is enough we are going and that’s… we have to show them that we are not…” commanded the voice of a stern woman.

Before Sasha had time to ponder the odd voice mail any further his expensive mobile device begins to ring indicating that Lupe was trying to facetime him. Begrudgingly accepting the call caused the Cuban’s face to engulf the screen. Of course, the fat fuck was eating.

“Bless up. Like where you been at dude. I have not seen you around the penthouse in days. You on a bender or something. Oh shit, don’t tell me you took that game of kings shit seriously. That was the molly talking not your homeboy here. Ha! The look on your face and your dye job tells me that I gotcha good. You done been punked son. Russia is a cold, boring, shithole, so we all knew you were tough as diamonds. You be some prideful ass mofo though. You lucky you weren’t kidnaped son as this city is filled with the desperate. Speaking of which fuck Sol City dude. You got some Harvey Dent Distract Attorney here. Punk had the gall to tell my father… an esteemed senator mind you…that he is considering moving forward with the case against me. Called me a menace to public order and threatened to throw me back in the slammer like I was some sort of real criminal. Chump is walking on thin ice. For real. Pissant doesn’t seem to whom he’s messing with. Scrappy Doo better learn that he is messing with the Big D-O-G now”

Sasha tempered his seething anger at his bulbous roommate before speaking. “Seriously fuck you fat ass. I could have been killed out here in the ghetto and guess what the DA could’ve added accessory to murder to your litany of charges. Who’d be yucking it up then darling? I warned you that this is not Miami Dade county when all three of us bought the penthouse, so it is your own damn fault that you found yourself on the wrong end of the puritans’ moral crusade against fun. You’re lucky I tolerate your presence pig, so I suppose I’ll do you a solid this once and have my Uncle call the DA’s office on your behalf. He’ll remind Mr. Bigshot who financed his campaign last election cycle and your charges should be dropped. In the meantime, inform my driver I wish to be picked from this tenement up post-haste and make sure Marcus brings some Oolong tea from new tea place down by the harbor. Don’t get the wrong idea… I am still livid that I dyed my hair for a joke. I can’t wear some of my favorite outfits thanks to your ill placed sense of humor”

“Of course. What can I say humor is a harsh mistress Sasha. I appreciate the solid though. Speaking of mistresses, you want to go to crash some shindig at the dustbin record shop later. Got word from a mutual friend of my drug dealer that killer babes are going be present and you know the Partyman loves himself some fresh booty. Before you start yes college-esque events are lame, but only when you are in college boy; Now that we are luminaries these are things are the bomb. Us Three Wise Man…Us Three Kings dropping truth bombs on our parishioners. We be lighting up Instagram and Twitter. So do yourself the biggest favor of your life and say yes.”

Sasha considered telling his cohort to leave him alone, but being admired would be a good boost to his confidence. “Alright. Alright. I’ll go to on condition that I get to sing.”

Once an agreement was reached Sasha exited the dreary apartment and into the passenger side door of his awaiting cocaine white 2017 Lykan HyperSport aka the best 3.7 million dollars he ever spent. The Lebanese really knew how to build a car, with its holographic display system and each LED headlight encrusted with 220 diamonds this was truly a beautiful machine. With an acceleration of 0-125mph in 9.4 seconds Sasha felt sorry those fools stuck driving lesser cars. He smiled as driver Marcus presented him with a biodegradable cup filled with Oolong tea. The tea was indeed delicious and was just the thing he need to jumpstart this already good day.

91st floor Penthouse, Monday Afternoon

Khorshid seemed overexcited to see Sasha back at the penthouse and he embraced his friend in a tight hug. “I was so worried about you Sashy. Lupe had me convinced that you were going to be eaten by the homeless, but in all actuality, I knew it couldn’t be true as your slender figure wouldn’t provide them with the proper nutrition.” Staring aghast at Sasha’s dyed hair color the former Yale cheerleader stopped his blabbering before chiding “My gosh why’d you go dye your beautiful hair? Ugh and you haven’t been practicing your braid dear. Let me remind how to do it.”

Sasha let his dimwitted friend lead him to the couch knowing better than to resist. Sitting down in front of the dullard, the Russian shivered in pleasure as he felt those soft hands begin to tug at the hair on right side of his head; having his hair braided was one his weakness. He bit his bottom lip to suppress a moan; the pain of the pulling stirred something pleasurable deep inside him. He closed his eyes and blissful thoughts raced across his mind’s eye. It was unfortunate that the experience ended as quickly as it did.

It seemed that in the interim Lupe entered the room and know was going on about something or another. It was clear they had some planning to do. He looked up at his Indian roommate and flashed a thankful smile before turning his full attention to his Cuban compatriot.

Merle G. Kersten

Monday Evening, Swan Songs.

To the untrained eye they were perhaps invisible or even indistinguishable from the actual press there doing puff pieces, but the paparazzi of Sol City were descending on the musical event like a swarm of locusts. After all they were the ones with the tip off as an anonymous, yet reliable source called the major sources of entertainment news earlier in the day to proclaim to them that the Perfect Posse would be out today in full force. While most of the lot just mulled about waiting for the actual celebrities to arrive, some of the so-called journalists with agendas to push rudely prodded patrons for quotes or eavesdropped on conversations. Merle G. Kersten was unfortunately one of those unlucky sods that was writing for an organization with some sort of slant to it. Luck of the draw he supposed. The Blaze was a fledgling sensationalist UK based website that had some socialist or perhaps it was social justice motivations behind it, not that Merle cared because a true centrist like himself would proudly write for any organization whose checks cashed.

Using his motorized wheelchair to navigate the growing crowd was not impossible, but it was growing rather frustrating. He decided to just collect some quotations from the first group of twenty somethings he came across and call it a day. He wasn’t here for the circus act like his colleagues as his mission per say was to record reactions and opinions on Vencorp International and the allegations they might be connected to the legal gun trade in Africa. A big issue in England apparently. The Russian socialite rumored to make an appearance later in the evening apparently was the nephew of the guy who ran Vencorp or something. Again, Merle did not care, he only took these writing gigs to supplement his laughably small disability check. He adjusted his Garfield tie (It ironically mentioned not liking Mondays) before approaching a group of people as the little pride he got out of the jobs was that he dressed relatively better than his peers. His suit while not terribly expensive was at least freshly pressed and at least he was not wearing a fedora to cover his prematurely balding head. Waiting for a lull in the conversation Merle sped on over mentally noting that one of women sounded particularly English.

“Pardon my intrusion ladies and gentlemen. I am Merle a free-lance journalist for The Blaze crown and country’s number one source for progressive coverage and I am just wondering if you wonderful people could inform our readers across the pond what you personally think of recent allegations lobbied against locally based conglomerate Vencorp International. While similar allegations of supporting the legal gun trade in Africa have crippled shipping giants across the United Kingdom, it seems our American counterparts are hesitant to take any legal actions against this certain accused billion-dollar company. Is it perhaps that the current administration in Washington wishes to use exiled Russian oligarch Aleksey Matfey Petrov and his company as leverage against Putin? Is it just sickening knowing that the privileged few profit off the misery of others. What are your thoughts on the matter as many wish to know.” While rather monotone Merle managed to talk a brisk pace to silence any potential interruptions. The look on his face told those assembled that any answer or insult they flung at him would not surprise him in the slightest, he seemed quite world weary for a journalist.

Victoria Darya Romus

Swan Songs . Monday Evening

A journalist... Journalists... Her reaction to wall him off as given recent events both sisters where wary of the press and the headlines, Romus sisters live highlife in Sol on blood money, or some other rediculous title.

Their father had been named in the same articles in the legal arms trade, Enfield Inc and others had been in a fairly off hand role and was a few steps away from Ploar star shipping though like blood hounds they had not let go of the scent till even Victoria had felt the need to get out of the UK for a while.

Marinalia noticed he was in a wheel chair. Garford tie... Must not be a Monday person for sure and we'll dressed andfitting in. The paper on the other hand had run some of the more extreme editorials and articles. Not exactly earning her good side.

"oh... I've been out of the loop for a few years... I think il hold my silence, I work for one of the local major companies and I am careful to get involved in contraversal issues."

Giving Ren a sorry look at the Drama that might happen, Victoria was not always predictable and sighed.

" Sorry... Il explain later hon. Might not be pretty. I'm... Later"

Victoria have him a rather cold look. The Blaze had been one of the ones that had run a story identifying and digging deeper into various people's families and though not her, she had seen the hurt their desire for clicks and sales had caused. Her English accent cooled dramaticly, grey eyes giving about as much warmth as her snow shite skin, and practically white long blonde hair, detailed platts and layered.

"if I may.. You talk about the issues but never think of your concquences to others and their families."

Letting a pause take effect as she considered her next move and decided she would rather deal with the press on her own terms, if they wanted to follow her to Sol City she would setting the direction. Hiding seemed to have failed, she never had been raised to be weak or timid.

"Victoria, Darya. Romus... The woman some of your rats names deaths daughter, or the polar princess.

I had to leave home to get a fresh start and you follow me again! You rats Don, t give up chasing me. I told you my father's deeds are not my own.

Got a camera... Want a nice photo for your gutter paper? Least make it a good one. Leave my friend out of it... She innocent of this all "

Standing, she was wearing a long pale blue backless gown, a ice blue diamond glittering at her finger, everyone had made jokes about her skin tone. Winter, Elsa and more. She had decided to make the joke her own and work for her instead.

One hand leaning on a walking stick for support and a glass of wine in the other she stood slightly to side to ensure Marilania was out of shot. Everything suited her, if the press wanted a picture, it better be one that she looked nice in.

Ren White

Swan Song's, evening

Ren was so relaxed. Alert, but relaxed. The voices in his head that usually brought him down where silenced. Not gone, but subdued. He had one leg crossed widely over the other, taking up almost half of the couch by himself. The group was chattering, laughing and drinking with a cheery atmosphere, the bruise on Ren's jaw the only sign of a more violent evening earlier. He caught some movement in the corner of his eye and turned his head. There was that woman from yesterday. Airplane-girl. Yeah, no - that wasn't her name, was it. He could tell that she'd tried to dress up tonight. Mission accomplished. She was a very attractive woman, with her slender figure and piercing, grey eyes. She walked over to the table.

"Hey cutie, it's me, Marlin from the Old Starboard… Seems we both can scrub up well. Mind if I join ya?"

The girl from the party, Maya, glared at Marlin as she approached. The rest of the group didn't seem to take notice.

"Marlin. Right. Go ahead, have a seat. It's not like this is a private party." He scooted in on the couch closer to Maya. Making room beside him for Marlin. "And for your information, I'm not cute. Tonight - I'm gorgeous." He said with a confident smirk, a glint in his eyes. At the mention of the word cutie, he suddenly remembered a song that'd played at the party and was now stuck in his head.

He's lack of impulse control made him reach his hand out and pick up a lock of her hair, twirling it around his finger. "How did you get such long hair…" He said it more to himself than anyone else. Seeming truly fascinated by the long locks, no underlying agenda to it.

"Night off… Text books won't know what to do!" Marlin said jokingly.

"Heh, those books can go fuck themselves for all I care." Ren stretched his arms over his head, bending his back over the sofa's back lean. Not noticing anotherother woman walking up to them. Her voice came out of nowhere.

"So… Hiding things, Mali… Never mentioned a gentleman when you said this event this morning." Ren turned his head as Marlin caught the other woman in an embrace. She was pale as a ghost, and it made Ren look like had just spent a week in the sun in comparison. Why should Marlin have mentioned him to anybody. They'd just met last night. She was probably just messing with her, he thought to himself.

"Vika! Oh… Victoria, Ren, my sister, half by the books, sisters in every other sense, met him… I'll explain later…" Marlin answered.

"So there's two of you? That must have been fun growing up. Not that I would know - I had the house to myself. At least I didn't need to learn sharing." Ren's smirk was back.

"Thanks, Victoria Romus, I like long stories… I guess this one's interesting… Mind if I sit down… I'm kinda less steady on feet."

A man in a wheel chair came up to the group, wanting a comment on some scandal in the UK. Ren had heard of it, he was after all a cultured human being, and staying up to date on world issues was a must to be such. Marlin seemed uncomfortable to say the least.

"Oh… I've been out of the loop for a few years… I think I'll hold my silence, I work for one of the local major companies and I am careful to get involved in controversial issues." She gave Ren an apologetic look. He had no clue why. She was from the UK, no doubt about that, but did she have anything to with all of the drama the journalist was talking about? He doubdet it. After all, she was only a mere pilot.

She talked in a quiet voice so only Ren could hear her. "Sorry, I'll explain later hon. Might not be pretty. I'm… Later."

The other woman, Vika, took over the conversation with the journalist - and quit angrily so. Ren wasn't feeling particularily interested in joining the conversation. Instead, he stood up, grabbed Marlin's upper arm. "I want to dance. Humour me." He proclaimed. Before dragging her up to the excuse of a dancefloor the venue had to disposition. He started moving in time with the music, his body taking over his mind. Swaying back and forth with elegant motions, he was dancing as if it was as easy as breathing. Eyes closed and hands moving around him, he didn't care about anything other than the music.

Summerson & Suhl Airstrip

Music burned out of Max's earbuds, but was mostly drowned out by the jarring of his body and the rush of blood in his ears. It was a chilly afternoon, he had returned from Old Starboard well before sunset and still the sun had yet to set. He was jogging, wearing shorts and an oil stained T-Shirt that smelled of too many days without a wash. Curls of white breath escaped his lips as he panted to the beat of the music. It had become a more of a ritual than a means of exercise, and he prided himself for going at it almost everyday, almost religiously. The Runway was a under a mile long, in the ball park of four thousand feet, Max ran up and down its length four times on a normal day, and on either end awaited him a tractor tire.

As Max approached the end of his final leg he began to speed up, holding the pace for a considerable distance before slowing to a stop at the tire. He shoved his hands beneath it and flipped it, and continued to do so until it was firmly off of the airstrip, four lights from where it started. Panting, Max hunched over, hands on knees as he gave his aching body a moment or respite. But only a moment.

He moved towards his car, his body feeling light as it normally did after a workout, and climbed in. Max reached into the foot space in front of the passenger seat and produced a large, plastic bottle of water, uncapping it. He downed about half of what was left, leaving the remaining water to slosh around in the passenger seat. The sweaty man lightly tossed the bottle away from him, and turned the key in the ignition, making the car start with a rapturous roar.

Summerson Estate

Max's legs always felt a bit weak after a run, making standing in the shower an uncomfortable task. So the steel chair he had put in there came in handy. He sat on it, reversed, arms folded on the top of the back rest and chin propped up on his hands. The door to the bathroom was open, and beyond foggy, streaky glass, on a chair by his dresser, a tuxedo hung in a plastic dry cleaner's bag. He stared it it for a few moments longer, until what was left of the suds on his body curled up at his feet, then pushed himself out of the chair.

Standing in the mirror, Max tugged at his sleeves and smiled at himself, "Hello there, Handsome." A mumble escaped his throat, before he swept up his cuff links and car keys, and descended to the driveway. On his way out he passed dusty, canvas covered rooms and dusty paintings of landscapes and family.

The door closest to the front door was the only room not habited solely by rats and old furniture, inside a fire crackled and the tiny sound from an old TV set bubbled and twanged. Max creaked the door open, the light of the fire leaking around the mass of couch between him and it. Through the television he spoke.

"Momma?" His voice was almost timid, almost like he was asking the room and not a person. A soft voice cooed from the other side of the couch, the source completely obscured behind the tall back rest.

"Hmm?"

"I'm going to the Swan Song, do you need me to bring anything on my way back?" She took a moment to think, and Max stood there, waiting patiently. When she took too long to respond, Max cleared his throat and coughed into his hand, drawing a response.

"Just bring yourself home safe and sound, Max." Max nodded and swept a hand through his hair, "And bring a lady over Max, I'm starting to have a suspicion you don't like them." He burned red, a sarcastic laugh snorting out of him, to which she chuckled. "Go. Enjoy yourself, Maxi."

"Alright, Momma. Remember to put the fire out before you sleep." With that Max left, stepping out into the evening chill and to the black car glossy in the moonlight.

The Swan's Song

Max adjusted his cuffs from the warm confines of his car, making sure the small, round, black cuff links were on straight. Giving his hair one final look over in the rear view mirror, Max was satisfied that he was as prepared as he ever would be. Despite being a frequent visitor for the musical events, Max could never shake the buzz the place gave him when he parked his car across the road from it. He stepped out, leather shoes as waxy as the moon, hat tucked under his arm and bow tie dangling from the front pocket of his Tux.

Stepping through the door, greeted by a tinkling bell and a twinkling belle, Max gave his best smile which was little more than a tired grin, and a showy bow, holding his hat to his chest. The hostess giggled and to the bar she lead him, trailing the scent of his crisp cologne. He pushed himself into a stool and gestured with his hand to be served, giving the same smile he gave previously.

"Scotch. On the rocks." He ordered, swiping his card and taking a sip before turning the stool around to face into the establishment.

Kei Kinzo

As time drew closer to the start of the event, it got noisier and noisier within the venue, not that Kei really minded seeing as it was a social event and it was expected to get a bit noisy. With drink in hand he stood up from the bar seat and turned himself around, this time leaning his back against the bar. He finally took the time to observe some of the other guests that were arriving. There were a lot of different people shuffling in as the minutes passed. The opening bands were setting up and warming up as the venue slowly started to fill up with people of all sorts. It was not long before some people that he recognized caught his attention, firstly Marlin. She looked completely different from when they had met at the Old Starboard. She was definitely prettier. She was dressed up in a nice dress and seemed to be more relaxed. Kei stared for a few seconds before his attention was caught by the sound of the doors flinging open. Looking over he noticed another acquaintance from the other night, it was Ren. Just like with Marlin, Ren was all dressed up, he didn't look the same as he did before, if not for his distinct features Kei would've mistaken him for a completely different person. His eyes followed Ren all the way up until they took their seats in one of the seating areas.

It was then that he noticed that Marlin approached Ren, striking up a conversation. He wasn't exactly surprised, it was a natural thing to go up to people that are acquaintances. While just idly staring off towards the direction of Ren and Marlin, a few new characters of interest appeared before the group. One of them was a female, she had very similar features to Marlin, possibly a sister? As for the second character he showed up at a bit of a later time. He was in a wheel chair and he seemed to be striking up a conversation with Marlin and the possible sister of Marlin.

Not even a few minutes into the conversation things seemed to be getting heated. After what seemed to be some brief exchanges between the wheel chair man and Marlin. Marlin's possible sister stepped in and began to take the conversation into her own hands. Kei finally realized what he was doing, he snapped out of his idle staring and took a sip from his drink. 'What to do' he thought to himself.

Once his eyes were off the group of people that contained Ren, Marlin, Sister lady, and wheel chair man. He just casually looked around the room. The event had started minutes ago and people were already getting into a dancing mood. After all the dance floor started filling up with various couples and single persons. Upon taking the final sip of his drink he happened upon a sight that he never saw coming. Ren was dragging Marlin out to the dance floor to dance. He seemed in tune with the music, moving with ease, as if his nothing mattered to him but the music. That's when Kei thought of something good, a way to stir up some fun for three people that just got to know each other the other night.

Placing the drink cup down onto the bar behind him he buttoned the top button of his suit jacket and made his way onto the dance floor.

He weaved in-between the various dancers until he was a few steps away from Ren and Marlin. He watched and waited for the perfect moment, the current song had come to an end and the next began to play this one was somewhat of a nice slow jazz and it was perfect for Kei's plan.

Once the Saxophone began to play Kei finessed his way close to Ren, this is where he locked his right hand fingers into Ren's right hand fingers he held tight and placed his left hand on Ren's hip. He put on a large joking smile and opened his mouth.

「Fancy meeting you two here, how's your guys' night so far?」

Kei was anticipating Ren's reaction to the sudden change in his personal space.

Swan Song's - Monday Evening

It was only a few moments since arriving and looking at some of the people, Xia felt she may have over dressed a little. She was already there so she simply shrugged off the thought of feeling embarrassed. Despite her confidence in herself, Xia was a little nervous. She was looking around for a moment, noticing there were a few dapper males who, she had to admit, looked quite handsome.

She of course, still didn't know anyone and well, she felt a little silly maybe going up to a group she didn't know and stir up a conversation. She needed to loosen up. Before she could make her move, she heard an English accent passing by her while giving her a compliment about her dress and wishing her a good evening. @PrinceAlexus

Xia turned her head and noticed the female that spoke to her. Cute, seeing her sporting a black dress along with that accent, at first, Xia wondered if she was being sarcastic? This was supposed to be a good night from what she heard so she pushed back the negative thought of someone insulting her and indeed took the compliment. With a smile, and pocketbook in hand, Zia smiled and and gave a nod Thanks, likewise... She responded watching her head off to talk to a handsome male before she walked towards the bar to get something refreshing to drink.

I'd like a dry martini please... She said as a moment later, took the drink paying for it and taking her first sip before looking over to notice another male ordering scotch on the rocks. Her phone buzzed as she checked noticing her mother texted her asking how she was doing and how the the party was going. She texted her back letting her know that everything was fine and was preparing to mingle soon. She could hear the chattering where the girl that spoke to her was at. She took another sip before making her move to start her mingling.

Merle G. Kersten

Monday Evening, Swan Songs.

Merle G. Kersten had himself a hearty laugh as he thought of the absurdity of what just transpired. Some of the other paparazzi in the room glanced in the direction of the ruckus, but most were indifferent having hardened themselves against criticism. The reporter from the local paper sitting a few feet away shifted uncomfortably in his seat and order another glass of water from a bored looking waitress.

“Lady I have not the slightest clue who you or your father are, but despite sounding you stepped right off the boat from Buckingham Palace I must say you have already acquired the trademark Sol City Ego. I ought to know who you are? How novel. You bourgeois brats are all the same when it comes to a sense of entitlement. Believe it or not this is just utter coincidence, I just happened to choose the first decent paying assignment in my inbox and it just so happens that you personally fit the demographic my temporary eurotrash employer wanted comments from. Nothing special about it or you in particular, just routine business…you know rats actually have to work for a meal. Despite lofty ambitions not all of us have the luxury to work at professions we like as sometime in the real world one must put morals and personal dignity aside to survive another day. If you wish to indulge your deep-seated persecution complex further just step outside I am sure if you and your child solider arming daddy are as infamous as you claim to be one of my camera clad colleagues more versed in pre-brexit English scandals than I would be more than happy to grant you your fifteen minutes in the spotlight. Air your grievances or what not. Perhaps if you are lucky you can join the carnival of the absurd once it shortly arrives.”

And as quickly as he appeared the wheelchair bound man disappeared into the crowd. It was clear the man cared little about a response and perhaps wanted the last word to score some small narcissistic point.

========

If one was paying attention they perhaps noticed some secret service type characters enter the vicinity. Perhaps if outside the record shop proper one could notice that the street was being blocked off and traffic being redirected by similar looking figures. Weaving its way in between buildings a privately owned and operated Sikorsky S-92 VVIP Configuration Helicopter in direct violation of city ordinances which restricted inner city air travel to designated Helicopter Taxis only made its way toward Swan Song’s.

Olin Ingersson Holmström

Monday Morning, Apartment

Olin's morning didn't begin as it usually did. There were few days of the week she woke up without the trace of vice on her breath or between the sheets, but messing up the entire day for herself was on a higher pedestal than few minutes of high. In her mind, she could only think of what would happen if she played her cards right that evening. Getting to know people were important. Although a few of the city-people were faint in her mind, most of them were shadier than her. Those that weren't were between near and few. And, as she knew, if she played the curious to the right person, a few free drinks or at least a budding friendship would make up for the night prior.

With that she forced herself out of bed before setting to the task of effectively 'cleaning' herself up. Though she always got a bit giddy at the thought of going to Swan Songs (even on casual occasions, as she had become almost a regular) the Jazz Evening was different. Almost a worst kind of different. Without a doubt most attendees would come in expensive dresses or tuxes - and dressing up made the teen a bit uncomfortable. A full-on suit made her feel like... Well, a rear end. But there was no way she could go in her usual get-up as she didn't exactly feel like ruffling too many people's feather's that evening. She groaned while looking into her wardrobe, peering through her more formal attire, "Ruffling feathers... What the hell am I, old?"

After a few moments of pondering that question she'd managed to scrounge something together. A slightly wrinkled, navy button-up with small white angles patterned throughout it. That combined with a black sports coat and khaki slacks were enough to give the impression she at least tried. Just not very hard, and a picture of her parents shaking their heads flooded her mind. But she definitely wasn't old and exactly how many people her age was willing to wear a suit, anyway? She ironed the clothes out before taking a trip to the shower. Once she stepped out she brushed her teeth, careful to make sure every single nook got touched. All of this was done-so in a casual manner as if she had all the time in the world. Then there came the tedious task of styling her hair. She carelessly weaved a pomade-covered hand throughout it to create a sleek, shiny, bed-ridden look. Afterwards all she had to do was not mess up dressing herself. And then afterwards - and she was sure of it, awfully, awfully sure of it - that evening would spill in the morning.

Monday Evening, Swan Songs

There was no fighting the time. Olin was late. She partially blamed it on waking up an hour later than she had planned. Partially on the long walk (which she had obviously known of prior) from her apartment to the record shop. Then there was that small part that wanted to blame her dad. He was the one, after all, who had discouraged her from putting on a watch before she was fully dressed. Whatever the reason she groaned, hoping that the place hadn't grown too packed. It took a bit more walking before the shop got into her view. Before that happened she craned her neck, looking around.

Odd. A traffic jam. Some lanes were at a near, complete standstill and other's were full of cars attempting to get over. Beyond that were some rather... Shady-looking figures (and by that, she meant law enforcers) that seemed to be the cause of it. They didn't seem to care much about pedestrians - except the odd few that nearly stumbled into traffic - so she was able to continue her rapidly shortening journey.

Olin opened the door up to Swan Songs whilst trying to shake the feeling that something was a bit off. She couldn't exactly remember if the traffic directors were SCPD or not, and although the evening was a large event... Did it really warrant them? Her thoughts seemed to pan out the slightest as she took in the landscape. The dancefloor was filled with sweaty, bodies, then there was the sound of jazz funneling into her ears. A few groups of minglers had already begun to form, but to her, the diamond in the rough was past all of that. The bar. She slunk on over as she noticed two other figures occupying seats. One was what she remarked as a beautiful woman who she'd never seen before, seemingly ready to get up. The other was a man that embodied the look of a sleek, gentleman. He had his stool turned, as if drinking in more of the atmosphere than his drink.

She sat at the bar before tossing a charming smile at the bartender. At a more up-scale event it was hard to tell if getting carded was a risk or not, but usually if you didn't appear anxious, they would supply you with all of the vigor you needed. "Whiskey, straight."

There was a brow cocked in her general direction before the shot was slid over to her. She paid up before sloshing the liquid around the slightest. After completing the short ritual she downed it, allowing the liquor to fiercely kiss her throat. Maybe another and that would be it. Then it'd be the time to socialize.

Marinalia (Romus) Olympus

&

Victoria Darya Romus

Swan Songs . Monday Evening

Marilania smiled slightly at the jealous glance and laughed slightly, seems she managed to get someone jealous, competition maybe? She, did have to see about that. Well that hanged direction, he seemed alot more confident than the person who walked out the old Starboard. Different clothes, different person but which was the real one and which was the front?

"well, got a secret twin brother I know about?, bookworms definitely gone tonight. "

Laughing slightly, a slight niggle got past the part that was taking her on a path that seemed to have had a few drinks even when she had not touched a drop yet. Which one was real?

Hmm, this one definitely was a different side she had seen at the old Starboard as he played with the end of her hair. Long blonde, sure she could be abit of a cliché at times, but it suited her. Definitely more forward.

"I've never had it short. Gentle. It's not extensions.

Smiling slightly she let him have his fun, it was innocent enough for a acquaintance though more than allowed from a stranger.

Sharing.. Well that was abit different, the two sisters had never met when they where young and her father had left Maria when he was not even born, Victoria was younger and they never even knew about the other till Marlin was 18. Victoria had been younger but after a difficult start, a crippling illness and the recovery the two where close as any sisters who had lived together there entire lives.

Hard times had been difficult for both of them but the bond formed had been unbreakable.

"share, not quite. Half sisters. We met 6 or so years ago. You know about my family.. What about your mysterious past? Your not the average student"

Things where going well enough, playfully poking him to reinforce point about his past. Marilania barely knew much bar some family issues, though she could relate. They where pretty hard to shake.

Victoria was arguing, yeah that was expected... She always was more like her father and hot headed on some issues, much as she looked like a ice princess the core was downright volcanic when she was in a bad mood or anger was stirred.

"dance, perfect. Vika can handle herself "

The music was picking up and the venue was gets NG far more lively, a few couples had formed or started making the atmosphere warm up and the energy was building. The slow Jazz and blues was giving way to more lively numbers as even the band where feeling the energy, and she had a handsome man wanting a dance. This evening was a good choice.

Smiling and letting the music take her. Things seemed natural, she was a confident young woman with a job she loved, things seemed tto be slotting into place and danced abit closer so she could talk without everyone hearing, looking just like one of the many dozens of pairs dancing blending into the livey event.

"Well, i promised. Im not quite just Marlin. My family run a industrial company the UK, i could not stand the games and fights so i kinda did my own thing like some runaway and earned my own way, My father works legally but less morally. He got caught in a scandal back home, that's why Victoria has a thing against the Media."

Leaning against him slightly, it felt good to vent. Giving him a apologetic look that she was venting her frustrations and problems abit, hopefully he was not scared off, beneath the nice Dress, Long blonde hair and confidence there was more broken layers hidden underneath. It felt good to be with another human, relax, even if it seemed there where broken layers hidden beneath smart suits, designer dresses and makeup.

"New city, i had no one to talk to bar my sister.. it gets stressful...you don't have to stay if you don't want to"

Then Kei came, he was dancing with Ren, well tonight was sure throwing a few curve balls, first Victoria, journalists and now Kei, the world seemed destined to make this night a night to remember. Smiling but slightly not wanting to share completely. thinking to self, oh come off it, you barely know him, stop being silly Mali.

"Hey, Surprise surprise. It seems the whole groups out tonight. Yep, its the prettiest pilot in Sol still!

Not bad, got a dance off a handsome man, though my sister might punch someone before the night is over if she finds more journalists!

Looking back, she saw Victoria heading to the bar after her showdown, both seemed to be less than happy and she'd probably get a full story in the morning before she left for work.

Victoria was in a mood, they both had been somewhat hostile and she needed strong drink after that. Carnival of the absurd? Did he know about some event going on she did not. Likely, Journalists had more eyes and ears than they should and she was new to the city. Heading over to the bar fast as busy venue and her long accepted weakness needing a stick to walk, she saw some men in black who where not there before, smart suits and general vibe that said they where not there for fun, the white earpiece she could barely see on the large man well over a foot taller was final answer. Someone big or important obviously had serious security.

Pushing past the man best she could and made it to the bar and saw a group gathered, rather mixed. The athlete maybe from before with a limp, the tall and confidently dressed woman in black and white, tall and with a good figure she certainly was striking. Lastly a new guest it seemed had joined the bar, Smaller, Blonde and definitely on the younger end of 20. A suit with a female face, features to delicate to be male. Interesting. It seemed a strange gathering, she'd fit just right in.

Finding a seat between a tall man in a suit, and the woman in a suit, it seemed a spot she could find time to calm down. The long backless pale blue elegant dress dangled down and her 4'9 height meant it was a tad bit tall but it was somewhere to sit. Others where fairly pale but her skin made her seem like snow in comparison to others, slender figure showing, almost too thin but Illness had taken a toll that was hard t shake years later.

Sitting slowly with less ease the most people, Victoria sat at the bar and looked at range deciding that tonight needed something stronger.

"Double whiskey, Straight. i need something stronger tonight. "

Sighing slightly and leaning against the bar sipping it slowly after paying with a 20, the cash point only seemed to have big notes. With a thought, she felt abit like a downer and decided to try and do something positive and turn it around abit. Soft English accent only making to those at the bar.

"Anyone want a whiskey.. im feeling generous and need to balance some Karma?

Anyone know what's up with the goons about? Seems a bunch of Security guys far less inconspicuous than they want to be. Surprise star booked to play?"

• Monday Night, Swan Songs •

Right now, Aya wasn't in the most upbeat of moods.

It was a mild Monday evening and she'd only just gotten off work two hours ago, as did her accomplice for the night who hadn't exactly arrived yet. Apparently it was Jazz Night here at Swan Songs, and on this particular weekday, Aya had somehow been persuaded to attend by her co-worker. Jazz had always been one of her more favoured genres of music, and it had been a while since she actually got out of the apartment to enjoy herself, but God forbid she stay up this late when she had the stupidly early shift at The Coffee Pot the next morning.

Aya had been sitting at a small table for the past thirty minutes now, waiting. Although the relaxing jazzy tunes being played were very pleasing to the ear, Aya was growing impatient. She tapped her foot under the table, quicker and quicker as each minute passed, arms folded. Although she believed it wasn't the right day to go for a night out, Aya had put in quite the effort to make herself look nice today. She had put on more mascara and silvery blue eye shadow than she usually did, and even decided to wear the dark blue off shoulder top she saved for those special nights out. Aya liked to think she looked especially classy tonight, and it somewhat disappointed her that her friend — who always had something to say about how she rarely went out or how sloppy her makeup looked — was taking her sweet time getting here.

Aya sighed, instead letting the jazz music soothe her head. She didn't want to be in a sour mood when her co-worker finally arrived, even though she found her tardiness quite annoying. She was the one who had managed to drag Aya out of her usual secluded nights in, after all. Aya didn't take out her phone, continue to tap her foot, or curse under her breath about how late her friend was. She just listened and welcomed the music into her cluttered mind, drowning out the sounds of her fellow, seemingly more excitable human beings. That was what she had come here to do, right?

Swan Songs - Monday Evening: The Bar

Xia was enjoying her smooth martini, thinking of where she could head to first to start her mingling after a little dose of liquid courage. That was until seeing two others walking over to the bar where she was. She already noticed the dapper male from before but the person that came over next left Xia a little befuddled, not because of the drink but this individual that came over with a suit but looked to be female unless this was a rather feminine male?

Xia was taught not to stare at people and to treat everyone equal. That wasn't a problem though. Taking another sip as the individual ordered a whiskey, she did sound like a female but an interesting one at that. And she looked younger than 21. It wasn't her place to say anything so she let it be. There times when Xia stepped on many toes and had an anger issue but she was here have fun and meet interesting ones. It was time to be good and not come off wrong.

Xia took a deep breath and figured, what the hell, say something. @Monacho Whiskey, straight? Either you have such high tolerance or you're really looking to get tore up. For me, I'd probably end up running around the block butt naked in the middle of the night if I drank that, hehe. She chuckled a little just to make a small comment to start small talk. Well there goes nothing. Xia waited for a response from her before noticing another female approaching.

The girl that was coming up looked quite pretty. She was small, thin and well...adorable in Xia's eyes. She did looked like she was upset about something but whatever it was, it required that she would get something to drink to get her mind off of it. She just spoke to the suit wearing female, and now with this other girl showing up, this was an instant mingle group of their own.

The small female with white hair seemed to have came from the group Xia was looking at earlier. The same group where the girl, who complimented her, was with. When she came upon the bar and spoke, Xia acknowledged her English accent when she ordered a whiskey double and offered if anyone else wanted whiskey, Xia couldn't help but chuckle.

@PrinceAlexus
Hehe, I just got finish commenting about the effects whiskey have on me. I feel tonight destiny wants me to run around the block butt naked. I may just have to stick with what I'm best comfy with. Whiskey will bring out my version of Miss Hyde. And....I don't know about the security...this is my first time being in this place. She mentioned loud enough for the cute English accent girl, the suit wearing female, and the dapper gentleman could hear.

Xia took another sip, realizing she's finally speaking up and well, exposed that she's come to this event before. She was going to mention that she just moved into this city a few weeks back but she wasn't going to tell everything about herself so soon though. Now with the alcohol fueling her up, her outgoing bravery was starting to show.

Observing the steady foot traffic around the streets of Riverside reinforced Joel’s feeling of being completely out of place. Riverside carried an air of exclusivity, like most of downtown Sol City, but tonight they seemed to have dialed it up a notch for this apparent “event”. He’d been around before when it was going on, but never once sat in attendance. Not his scene. Sitting across the street from Swan Song’s in his white thermal shirt and weathered leather jacket he stuck out considerably along with his windblown highway hair. He took a spiteful pleasure in his appearance and the faint aroma of brake fluid and exhaust on his clothing. When he’d ordered nothing but a black Americano, the girl in the coffee truck looked at him confused.

It would be a little bit before the traffic would die off and he didn’t care to exercise his hands and feet any further on the clutch and throttle. The ride back to Southside would be cold enough on the bike once the sun had completely set. He took out his phone and began thumbing through his standard lineup of news and conspiracy websites along with a few technical forums he frequented from time to time: Typical divisions in politics, more arguing, less freedom, blah blah blah, then there was an article about underground submarine bases in Nevada that looked interesting, but was a mile long. He saved it for later then perused over a technical bulletin from Porsche. He glanced up to admire a few well-dressed females passing by. Bored.

He flipped over to his messenger application. Tommy was the last person he’d talked to three days ago when he’d pulled the car out of the shipping container behind Apex Designs. It was Monday night so that also meant Monday Night Football was on at Footsteps. He rolled his eyes at the thought. Over there grown adults would be shouting at television screens while other grown men, hundreds of miles away, manhandled one another over an oval-shaped, brown ball. He compared that crowd to those currently swooning over mediocre jazz and fluffy drinks and shook his head lightly. This whole fucking country is doomed. He thought. You hate everything, Joel! A past female acquaintance beckoned from the back of his mind. Yeah, pretty much. He smirked a little.

The coffee went down along with the temperature. Joel watched the traffic hoping for an opportunity to see it lighten up. He could hear the festivities going into full swing and hoped that meant he would soon make his escape as the regular crowd filed in. Not content to look at his phone for very long in public, he mostly watched the cars as he waited: Majority newer European, Land Rovers, Mercedes & BMW, all patently uncreative. He saw one guy pass by in an older SL convertible, credit to him for at least being different, then another in a little Impreza that made him chuckle when he saw it. Someone was out of place and didn’t quite realize it. He mused.

There seemed to be a slight ruckus brewing inside the record store while outside he could hear the sound of a helicopter moving closer. Maybe someone already had a little too much fun and the Medevac chopper had to be summoned, but on a closer listen Joel realized it was not the usual hospital chopper on approach. The engine sound and rotor-beat was stronger, near militaristic in pitch. A noticeable effort to clear the streets was also apparent. Everything was suddenly getting very entertaining. Suited figures dashed around scurrying people out of the rotor wash like worthless peasants. They seemed not to pay any attention to him and he sat back enjoying the last few gulps as the landing gear deployed.

Ren White

Ren just listened in silence as Marlin told him about her family situation. He was a bit shocked to be honest. He'd never suspected a sweet girl like her to be involved in a scandal like this. Well, her father being involved as least. But who was Ren to talk. He for one did not want to be blamed for his father's sins. Not that there were anything out in the open, but he was sure his father had some skeletons in his closet that would come out in the open one day.

"You are your own person, not your family's." Ren finally said, leaning forward, forehead bumping into Marlins temple. "Besides, you owe me a dance. I can't leave just yet." He said with a wink, and was about to take a step backwards when all of a sudden Ren's right hand was caught up in somebody else's and there was a warm hand placed on his hip.

"Fancy meeting you two here, how's your guys' night so far?"

Ren thought he'd heard that voice before, but he was to caught up in the warm embrace to place it. The pill from earlier made each touch to his body feel much better than it usually did. He couldn't help but shudder as goosebumps crawled up his spine. Suddenly feeling a bit smug, he swirled the other person around, dipping them down to the floor. And the person was no other than… "Kei?" Ren was startled to see a familiar face. He'd imagined some perv trying his luck on a random stranger, not the polite guy from last night. He dropped Kei to the ground as if burnt by the touch, eyes narrow and one lifted eyebrow. "Oh just fantastic, nothing like being molested by a stranger in a sleezy jazz venue."

Marinalia (Romus) Olympus

&

Victoria Darya Romus

Swan Songs . Monday Evening

Victoria saw the other woman, tall, alot taller than her by almost a foot, a deeper tanned skin tone contrasted heavily against Victoria's complexion that made most pale people seem tanned in comparison. The female in the suit looked younger by abit than her and gave her a Europeen vibe for some reason.

Wondering if either where going to take her up on the whiskey she decided it was polite to answer the statuesque woman in the rather nice black and white dress.

Looking over she nodded, wondering how much to say. It was not hard to tell somthing had thrown her night off abit. The references she reconised, her father had insisted she read all thr classics even though some where a total drag.

"hey, Hyde, well after that reporter my Mina harper is more Dracula than Darya."

Sipping a whiskey slowly but steadily, she had got used to spirits after spending time with her fathers crew, mostly Russians, and was fluent in the language even if her reading was patchy at best. She relised she might of been rude, and it was not her fault the journalist had been annoying or the security getting in way. Romus, well Darya her middle name no one would know was a bluff.

"Sorry.. Victoria Darya. I get him. My sisters managed to attract two handsome gentlemen! Luck for ya. Sharing is caring right!"

Laughing slightly. The whiskey was making her less bothered by sheer alcohol content, be silly to let him ruin her evening.

"Agh. I just thought it looked fun. First timer. Whoever it is better be Chris Helmsworth.. Scott Eastwood. Eye candy never hurt! ."

Turning to the area around her, they seemed a smart lot. The woman seemed alright, and even evening was turning out well. She had just finished a job coding the website for some Russian rail company. Yeah. Why not, they paid her last week. The jobs where rare but coding work could be pretty profitable.

"bar man. Whiskey if they want em, one round. On me, regular shelf please ."

Marilania smiled as things got closer, it was silly but the flow seemed to be taking her and one she decided not to fight.

"thanks. Every time I think I escape them. Well they find a way to make my life complicated. Dance, well I'm sure I can oblige you Mr Doctor..

About to move in closer for a dance, he seemed a good egg, and maybe it was the music, thr atmosphere. Things where feeling right. Then kei grabbed his hand and trying it on Ren. Nope. Her egg, this one was with putting in a box and had a rather nice shell.. With a firm English accent she responded.

"excuse me hon, I so believe il be claiming this handsome doctors dance."

Giving him a from look but polite, and without the icey tone her sister gave the reporter and taking his hand instead to prove her little point and gave him a peck on the cheek.

Olin Ingersson Holmström

Monday Evening, Swan Songs

Out of the corner of the eye she could briefly see the woman catch a few glances of her. Her whole demeanor oozed hesitation, but it didn't exactly seem to be towards the teen. Her comment on whiskey made her smirk the slightest. Olin wasn't exactly invincible to alcohol herself. But the thought of her being that much of a lightweight seemed almost like a joke.

"Oh, this?" She held up her then empty glass, the smirk turning into more of a charming smile. "Weak. I'll probably end up in the '501 later on, if I'm lucky."

Maybe the 'weak' part was an exaggeration. But nothing was the best closing to a night of such peaceful, wonderful music, than being in a bar full of ruffians. That was her type of party. Not cashmere ties and slim dresses. Though both made quite the sight, she could find equally as attractive figures elsewhere. With fewer clothes and hotter pursuits, as well. Before she could think of much else to say another guest walked up to the growing assemble.

She was a small, graceful woman, that would've looked much younger than even Olin if she lacked the maturity of her frame. Her hair was literally as white as snow to match her equally as fair skin. It caused quite some confusion in her mind. Because 1) She didn't seem like the type to drink, and 2.) As soon as that thought popped into her mind, outspilled an unmistakable English accent that asked without any type of hesitation for a double. A double. Of whiskey, that is. "Goddamn..." Slipped out of her mouth carelessly. Especially once she saw the woman take out her bills to pa and exposing what looked to be a chunk of change.

Before she could pull herself together the accent spilled into her ears a few more times. It took quite a while for it to register in the mind that the woman was offering free liquor, and that the woman had let her name slip. Victoria Darya. Cute. Almost tempting, in fact, but alcohol took top priority. Although she hadn't been in her mothercountry for a long, long time, she still felt like she'd be the worst Swede in history if she refused the offer. The only Swedish person to reject a free drink was a crazy one, and no-one wanted to be around any type of crazed Nord. She still couldn't help but to quirk a brow. In fact, the stranger seemed spark some... Competitiveness in her. No way was she going to let a total Snow White out-do her. No matter how much her eyes seemed to drift. "Another shot for me... Actually, make it a double."

She also felt the need to look into one of Victoria's previous questions. Without a doubt there seemed to be some more shady characters scoping out the shop, their gaze missing no inch. She had a rather short staring contest with one which ended with them looking away to without a doubt attempt to intimidate someone else. Goons? Could they have been... "Saw a few of them out front. Totally cramping the experience. If this is all for some 'star' he better be the reincarnation of Jimi Hendrix."

Kei Kinzo

The sudden change in elevation caught Kei by surprise. It was not a feeling he was very familiar with so his heart stopped the very moment he entered free fall. While the free fall only lasted a nano of a second, it felt like a life time to him. In the nano second of free fall he witnessed his whole life flash before his eyes. Obviously it was all exaggerated. He finally hit the ground of the dance floor with a strong thud, wincing a little bit from the pain of hitting the ground but he then began laughing jokingly. He sat up, popped his back and stood up to his feet.

「Now there was no molestation involved there I promise, was just having a good time with you.」

Looking over at Marlin he gave her a half friendly half joking smile.

「A handsome dance indeed.」

He let out a light laugh and looked upon his clothing. Noticing some dust clinging to his clothes; he began dusting off his pants and jacket for any dust that may have stuck from the floor. Once it was all said and done he looked upon the two familiar faces and spoke up.

「So what brings you two to this event, didn't take you two as being jazz liking people.」

Kei paused for a second.

「Well I am one to speak not a fan of jazz myself but hey you know.」

Seeing as the three of them were kind of awkwardly placed in the middle of the dance floor, it seemed off to be speaking casually in the middle of getting in the way of everyone else trying to dance and have a good time. With a small hand gesture he motioned towards moving towards the edge of the dance floor in order to get to a less awkward position for talking between the three of them.

Ren White

Ren snickered as Marling pecked his cheek. As she was about 20 cm shorter than himself, she had quit a bit of a struggle both pulling him down and trying to reach up to his cheek. He had his fun trying not to bend down too soon to meet her halfway.

"Now there was no molestation involved there, I promise, was just having a good time with you." Kei said with a gleam in his eyes, smile on his lips. "A handsome dance indeed."

Ren couldn't help but enjoy all the complements he was getting tonight, already forgotten about his previous company. When confronted with why he was there, he was back to his smug self, replying with an attitude.

"Random chance of luck, on your part." Ren said with a another wink.

When Kei motioned for them to somewhere quieter Ren shrugged and led the way to a lounge area with armchairs, a couch and a coffee table. He took a seat and took the time to look around the venue. There were a lot of people in this small place. The entire row at the bar seemed to be taken, the dance floor was blooming, and loud chatter was enveloping the place, giving it a nice atmosphere.

"I want another drink. Be right back." Ren said, as he started pushing his way through the crowd.

---

By the bar he noticed Victoria sitting there, chatting with a smaller blonde person.

"Hey, Victoria, right? Sorry to leave you hanging back there. But you seemed capable of handling that jerk on your own." Ren said without looking directly at her, eyes fixed on the bar.

He ordered a rum and coke. While he was waiting he noticed a man in a smart tux next to a dark skinned woman, also dressed to the occasion. The bar was booming with customers, each trying to get the bartenders attention, he's drink nowhere in sight. Ren walked over to the two people.

"Enjoying yourself so far? It's insane how many people actually showed up to an event like this."

He was feeling social tonight. Why not start up a conversation with some new faces. It may or may not be the pill talking, it's effects still lingering. That self-scrutinous voice usually residing in his head was quiet for the evening, and he was making the most of it.
