Flavor Text

Humanity's grief rested perpetually in the confines of conflict. Ambition sought petty prejudices as challenges to vast conceit each person felt entombed in. Letting much blood from torn skin or eviscerated vessels -- their primitive pursuit of answers led them in ritualistic sacrifices to appease forces they were not in control of. Deified entities mounted on pedestals of responsibility reclined comfortably on brass thrones of vacant rationale and wanton accommodations, but few were infinitely appeased as a God of war. Modern society now acknowledges combat as a force of nature, and the Olympian personification became synonymous with endless conflict. Our two combatants will pay him great homage by spilling the blood of their vanquish foe, for it not mattered whose blood ran -- provided that it's running.

Ares, Nubian, Oro, Kokou, Maher, Ogoun, Huitzilopochtli, Anann, Camulus, Chi You, Anhur, Bishomenton, and Winalagalis were all reputed to command divination over all essence of battle. None would be immortalized by the greatest altar of human history as Mars has claimed. Such as galaxies hurl scarlet flails of celestial bodies at each other -- planets and star systems alike consumed in a sea of radiating fire -- these deities competed for longevity in history's supremacy over the cosmos. These two warriors journeyed the perils of impeccable hardships will finally intersect here. Their parallel roads became perpendicular unto the full-circle that is Mars. This orange body orbited elliptically around the sun and carried about humanity's curiosity to inhabit its surface with lunar rovers and probes. It is believed that a civilization predating earth's more robust history existed on these planes. They believed pyramids on Mars, debris of skulls, anomalous figures, and even water banks littered its landscape; although a great many hovels discoveries have been identified, none were so significant as life itself. Mars contained life -- demonic life.

The Union Aerospace Corporation unearthed relics and multidimensional traveling technology when their facilities were savagely attacked. Mars' galactic company sustained heavy personnel loss from unremitting assaults by unknown entities native to the planet. Incidentally these phenomenons occurred simultaneous to UAC's technological discovery during their finalization. Creatures from an alternative reality wreaking havoc on the workers stationed there and suffering substantial casualties and millions in valuable goods pilfered or destroyed. A lone soldier remained from the attack and launched a counter-offensive of his own to push-back the alien forces threatening to touch base on Earth's surface using a stolen UAC transporter. His trail linked back to what appears to be an arena by design.

The architecture seemed very simplistic. In fact, it looked very simple -- dead simple. What once was pale algae festering on moisture from water to blood now supplanted by concrete and metal. Wide parameters of metal platforms stood roughly 8' and a half feet tall and no longer suffered negligence of discarded battle. Their purpose was to support weight of enormous proportion for aviated extraction. 14' 11" walls that were battered from old battles now revised. Metal sheets bolted into concrete supported heavy awning on flat industrial bars. The interior courtyard observed from the dark surrounding porch did little to hide the exterior's mystique. 14' 11" foot walls of concrete and metal harmoniously encapsulated these now vivid corridors. Upon a time these halls hymned emptiness now orate an ornate a mechanical orientation. A mill, machinery, splendor organized these paths in a pale vermilion aura caused by trenches of exposed lava. These pools of lava swirled with a strong radiation that recolored any that walked above into any variation of Vermilion corresponding with the saturation of their own original hues. These exposed and vacant chambers marinated beneath Mars now copper sky as this court serves a war driven peristyle arena.

The hellish spawn long removed but their lust for crimson life scarred these lands. In the epicenter of this revised courtyard lied a pink creature distilled on the facade of tan square. A parasitic being harped on an abandoned 5th and final elevated identical to the others but permanently suspended in a lift state. Though paralyzed, its hibernation expelled at a hint of violence and it has witnessed plenty thereafter and no other transmission of this sentiment is clear but its faint orange glow to any who behold it. The fighters who happened here are summoned by an erupt explosion sodden in emerald electricity. These warriors are interjected into this sudden stadium from a single explosion emitting foreign energies and these energies will subside as quickly as formed. They'll arrive in their corners look at the venue from the porch side and from this view will see their opponent, but fairly poorly as this porch interior was mildly dark. They only relied on what resources available to them that they came with, and their wit would be their only strength. Mars smiled happily on this lot with favor giving them stage in the ultimate arena of battle. His content lavished the height of the walls with an unstoppable gravitational force to prevent cowardly victims from fleeing for heaven's tainted embrace. These grounds were only suited for elites and this life force beckoned him when it seeped onto this hard surface. The best fighters had valor, skill, and fortitude to shed the hue of blood as Mars' bronze sky shined onto them and he spared no delight in savoring the fluid. All beneath the bronze heavens were slightly colored a tang of the color.. a very slight ambient overlay inside the courtyard and beyond.

When every confrontation expired then these walls would resonate a conscious. Computers located on the walls inside the atrium are programmed to pull the courtyard platforms down to exact floor level within a very short amount of time. The intention was simple, deadly simple even: No fight will hide from their foe given enough time as this peristyle battlefield is ripe with invincible cover -- confront your enemy. These grounds reverberated that whim of blood lust by locking every lever in place once they were lowered, which kept anyone from resurrecting those behemothesque podiums. Mars favored no coward and he enjoyed enemies staring into the eyes of their adversary with pain and fever alike. They will spill blood and he guaranteed they would not leave unharmed. His appetite for their nectar was superseded by a veracious instinct for murder and thus allowed only one artifact for these chosen warriors to abuse. A single medical supply entrapped in an unusual black box with a red cross and its contents were as ominous as its glowing appearance; for any person to so much as caress its form will adsorb all it contained and be invigorated. Their bodies restored to 100 percent health cured of all ailments and wounds no matter how petty. The recipient of such delight may do no more than bump it with any part of themselves to instantly receive its benefits; however, no impudent man shall be immortal and it will dissipate after its consumption for only in absolute defeat shall Mars become inebriated. The intoxicated aroma of control will award anyone brave enough to take advantage of such a generous prize. The caveat is that upon consumption the blessed is disarmed momentarily as unarmed combat is never a curse to Mars.

Now their destiny lay here. The ultimate warriors of their era would burst onto the corners of this peristyle structure in smokeless fire of jade plasma, far from each other, ready to fulfill a titan's hunger for war. Their anguish shall propagation here as spillings of folly and weakness alike. They will drench him their blood. ~ Mobius - TZDL2017 Finals

Clarence looked across the symmetrical and relatively warm arena before him analytically. On its face this arena seemed purpose-built for battle; its square construction and segmented sight lines perfect for forming kill boxes for the defender as one might expect to see in a medieval castle. But the hazy orange light permeating the field told Clarence that this was no castle. The utter silence also seemed to confirm that whatever battle had once been fought here had long since faded into memory. Yet even now Clarence found himself summoned to wage yet one more battle here in this alien battlefield. Further exploration of the battlefield quickly confirmed he was no longer on the Earth as he knew it – the arena porch sections each had computer screens with imaging technology much more advanced then the relatively primitive plasma screen technologies he was used to seeing.

Indeed he could see around himself the center of the arena hosted a quadruple set of platforms with a fifth at the center hosting a pillar that extended upwards to the orange hazy clouds above them. Around him were four more L-shaped porches overlooking the central platforms and past that raised porch was a long ring. Access between each section was open with few real avenues to avoid being spotted by one's enemy. This is an arena where long battles are discouraged. Clarence thought to himself; then smirked behind his helmet. It's about time.

From Clarence's point of view this arena suited him fine. There was nothing here that seemed to hinder his powers, and so as long as his opponent wasn't allowed to effectively use their cover then he shouldn't have too many problems fighting here. However, taking stock of his past battles and what had worked and what had not Clarence came to the realization that he needed to take better advantage of the terrain around himself. And that was when he realized the first problem with this place – it was impervious to his powers. It was extremely problematic to utilize the terrain if he couldn't manipulate it. Fortunately he had time to evaluate his surroundings and come up with a potential solution to that problem.

Clarence's own aura flashed to life as he extended his staves outwards. He continued to roil up his Subversion Field as he returned to his original starting position. Once he had returned to his starting point he cast one last look about the battlefield. Then he spun up his Chrono Staves until they were fully charged with chronotons and palmed them in hand. All that remained now was the arrival of his opponent.

Thirty-Minutes Prior…

Deep within the deserts of Egypt, a lone monument stood which had been long since lost to modern civilization. Its immaculate design made more radiant by the beaming sun above. There was nothing outwardly strange or different about this pyramid when compared to the many structures that had once spread across the sandy dunes all around it. The silence surrounding the area made it pretty clear to any approaching that this land was abandoned and forgotten to time itself. Curious then…that a young man seemed to exit the pyramid’s interior from a gaping hole in the wall.

Black suit shirt tucked neatly into white dress pants, the figure looked far out of place in this inhospitable zone – yet if he seemed perturbed by his locale and its conditions it was not apparent at first. Dress shoes, not suited for the dusty landscape seemed to scuff and dirty with every step seeming causing a grimace of dislike. The large black handgun held in his left hand seemed out of place to his appearance. A heavy sigh escaped the young man’s lips as he ran a hand through auburn strands. His head darted left and right, as if searching for some unseen threat.

“Well, there’s no sign of that strange shadow…I guess that’s that. Not a bad test run for this bad boy…” Mazono’s right arm was brought before his face as he examined a large silver apparatus strapped to his forearm. “Still...that was my favorite Fedora…and my favorite coat! God Damn him…”

A Familiar curse escaped his lips as the young man lamented his missing attire. Earlier in the day, maybe a few hours prior, there had been a brutal battle within the Pyramid slowly vanishing behind him. The outcome had been in his favor, but the sacrifice seemed to wound his vanity. Enraged at the lost garments, the young man let out a frustrated yell of irritation.

“I swear, when I get home I’m going to give him a piece of m-“

As if summoned by his anger, a ring in his pocket stopped him mid-sentence. Reaching within, he removed the cellular device and placed it gingerly upon his ear – careful not to short it out like he had so many others. A feminine voice met him on the other end, jovial and kind in its tone. Her professional etiquette was of course what made her Jhieten’s secretary.

“Agent Mazono, you’re late for check-in. I trust since you answered the test was a success? No difficulties?”

Gritting his teeth, he responded as only he would.

“Oh of course not Rachel. Everything’s rainbows and butterflies here on Earth’s dry Asscrack. OF COURSE IT DIDN’T GO WELL! YOU SET ME UP YOU SONS OF BITCHES!” The dam broke and with it came a slew of profanity. Regardless of whom was on the other end, he knew the truth. Regardless if he had his little mouthpiece call him, Jhieten could hear every word and Mitsu was determined he knew EXACTLY how he felt.

“I only lost my favorite Fedora and Trenchcoat. Do you have any idea how expensive that shit is?! More than you make I’ll tell ya that much! On top of that, do you have any idea what the hell you put me through for this test fire?! What the fuck was that thing?! I wan’t answers right no-“

“Good. Your next assignment has been prepared by Mr. Matsunagi and you’re to leave immediately fo-“Rachel was once again cut off by the rude and angry Mazono.

“Oh HELL no! I’m not going anywhere but home! I’ve been in the field for three weeks now! You can tell Jheiten to he can kiss My F-”

A brilliant pillar of light erupted from the sky above, encapsulating the young man in its ambience. His physical form would shift into lines of energy as his entire mass was broken down and moved en mass to the designated combat zone. For Mitsu, it was as if time had frozen in that moment – unaware that he was being forcibly shifted from one plane to another. As the pillar of light crashed down upon the strange red planet of Mars, time once more seemed to start for the man in white. Before he could exclaim any further into his irritated message, his eyes noticed the change in environment. With an exasperated tone, he uttered out the final word;

“Fucking….Asshole.”

Situated within one corner of what looked like an open air complex, Mazono took a brief moment to examine the landscape before him – all the while maintaining the ten foot translucent field consistently generating from his body. The concrete structures and openings gave the appearance of what may have once been a warehouse? No. the contours and design wasn’t the same. It almost gave the appearance of an ancient arena like the coliseum of old Rome. Unlike the Romans however, this one had no seating arrangements that he could see to allow for spectators.

A familiar beep caused him to draw his attention once more to his phone. There was no longer a connection with HQ, however on the screen he could see a single message sent to him directly by Matsunagi; “I’ve sent you to pick up a potential new operative for your unit. Do try and keep things…professional? He’s unaware of my interests.”

Of course. Out of the frying pan and into the fire so they say. Mazono sighed and, as he went to place the mobile device back into his pants pocket – he found himself blocked by a newly generated White Trenchcoat. Reaching up, Mazono once more felt the familiar comfort of the Fedora ever present. A smile crossed his lips. While he did indeed have some issues with his boss, Jhieten always managed to find a way to impress him. A flash of light caused him to turn his attention to the area opposite of him, illuminated embers of red and bluish whites flittering above the square box obstruction blocking a clear line of sight to this potential recruit.

He had his orders, bring this kid back. Simple enough, though knowing Jhieten the rest of the message was probably a warning about some volatile nature or another. Taking nothing to chance, Mazono expanded his Thunder Dome outward from its normal ten to its maximum thirty-yard radius. Simultaneously, the several canisters of Iron Sand attached to his belt would bloat and burst releasing his potent Iron Sand onto the floor all around him. As if suddenly made aware of it, Mazono would raise his left hand up into firing position, his Ratifier having yet to be put back into his holsters. It was assumed by him that whatever sciencey bullshit Jhieten did to get him here and replace his favored clothing had probably replaced the ammunition in his weapons as well.

Locked and Loaded, let’s hope he’s not shy! I wanna meet this kid!”

  • Has not posted available or a post in 20 days after his opponent.

Verdict
Junction will receive an auto-hit by his opponent in the form of an non-fatal stun/push like attack. Decoy you may post your autohit within the confines of your availability. You can also attack in the same instance of the autohit as part of the infraction does not cover your actions (since it'd count as a confirmed hit). I'm going to give @Juncti0n until December 27th to post his availability and a post before issuing another infraction.
