Plot

After dedicating years of his life to fighting Heartless and preserving the Realm of Light, Key-Master Sora passed away at a ripe old age. His legacy, however, lived on. The WDS (World Defense System) was greatly expanded and improved until it was capable of eliminating all Heartless activity on a single world. Over time, this system was spread to other worlds, and eventually Heartless became a thing of the past. It seemed the only place Heartless could now thrive was in the depths of space, in the areas outside of the opened Star Paths. Their increased presence in these locations caused them to develop strong concentration of dark energies, too dangerous to fly through, and so Gummi Ship travel became restricted to only following the paths that Sora had opened during his second journey (Kingdom Hearts 2). Like Sora, Riku also dedicated his life to the cause of light, and after Sora's death he founded a Brotherhood of Knights that would come to be known as the Judges. The Judges tasked themselves with maintaining the peace and eliminating any force that would threaten the return of the Heartless.

It's now been a thousand years since those times. Peace has reigned throughout that time, and most of the worlds are prospering. One of those worlds is Lunaris, a world named for it's intriguing resemblance to a moon. Lunaris is a thriving space port, finding itself in the center of a profitable trading route between various worlds. It's home to many merchants (some that travel, others that don't) and has become a popular place for would-be adventurers and explorers to get their start. One unlikely group of strangers, each in Lunaris for one reason or another, face an impending challenge... whether they know it or not. What had begun as a simple purpose for being in Lunaris will take a turn... for the worse.

The Story So Far

Rules

  1. Follow all the site's standard rules regarding flaming and such.

  2. Keep the tone of the RP in the PG-13 range.

  3. I'm only allowing up to 2 Keyblade Wielders.

  4. If you are one of said Wielders, bear in mind that your Keyblade is not a be-all-end-all fix to all your problems, and it certainly doesn't make you invincible or more important than the other characters.

  5. One more rule for Keyblade Wielders. You do not get to start out with a Keyblade. It will come to you in time, but only after it is earned. Until then, you would be wise to have an alternative means to fight or defend yourself.

  6. Magic, in this time period, is considered a somewhat rare art. That basically means you cannot start with an arsenal of spells, but only one spell that you likely haven't even mastered yet.

  7. The above rule is slightly different if you plan to play a pure mage. In such a case, you are entitled to no more than three starting spells, and they have to be basic (ie no bending time and space) and must not include the Cure spell. Healing magic right out of the starting gate would be a bit too easy in my opinion.

  8. While Kingdom Hearts is known for combining Final Fantasy and Disney, I will be incorporating characters and locales from other sources, meaning you can as well.

  9. Regarding the above rule, please do not go overboard with it. If you wish to include a character or world from another franchise it has to at least make sense. For instance, Shrek is a character who would likely fit very well in the KH-verse, as would other Square-Enix alumni from games like Chrono Trigger. Ezio Auditore and Darth Vader, on the other hand, would not fit. Does that make any sense?

  10. The Judges are strictly NPC's. This means you cannot play as one, nor can your character start with any personal connections to them. You can, however, control some of their actions in your posts for the sake of moving the plot and/or avoiding one liner posts.

  11. Regarding Nobodies, they are mostly no longer relevant in this time period. If you really want to encounter them at a later time then it can be worked out, but only standard Nobodies. Organization XIII is dead and gone, and no amount of popularity is going to convince me to resurrect them like the main games have done.

  12. These rules, as written, are subject to be altered, deleted, or have more added to them as I see fit.

  13. Let's try to write an epic tale and have a little fun while we're at it, shall we?

Abilities

Abilities will fall into one of two categories: Minor and Major. An ability's overall power and ease of use determines the category it falls under. Here's some quick examples.

  1. Minor Abilities: These abilities are ones that are generally common among many characters and are usually learned via level up in the games. Certain attacks like Strike Raid and Goofy Tornado are considered Minor Abilities. Certain Support abilities, such as MP Haste, are also considered Minor. In our game, these will generally be learned after fighting minor boss battles that will typically come in the middle of a World's storyline.

  2. Major Abilities: These are more powerful Abilities that cannot be learned via level up, and instead are typically learned at certain plot points or as rewards for side quests. New spells or upgrading old ones are considered Major Abilities, as are Limit Breaks and, for the purposes of the RP, Shotlocks. For the RP, Major Abilities are only learned after defeating the World Boss, the boss battle that represents the climax and ending of a World's storyline.

  3. Summons will be handled slightly differently. Rather than learning them as any other ability, they will be obtained in one of two ways: Charms (a la Kingdom Hearts 2) which, like in the game they originated in, are items to be carried around and (by that logic) usable by anyone who's carrying them; the other method of gaining summons is related to the overarching storyline. The difference between these methods is simple: Charms apply to Disney Character summons (eg Dumbo, Tinker Bell, etc), the other method will apply to Final Fantasy summons (eg Ifrit, Shiva, etc).

1. Keyblades. This one is sort of the elephant in the room. At least one will be incorporated in ways I will choose not to reveal for spoilery reasons. But what I'm asking is should the party be allowed to have them. The issue I'm thinking of is that if everyone has one, then that diminishes their overall value, but if only one or two is allowed to have one then it suddenly becomes unfair to everyone else. Should Keyblades simply be banned in terms of player characters?

2. Nobodies. You'll notice that the plot hook kind of goes out of its way to avoid mentioning them. This is because I simply have no idea what to do with them at present. I can imagine they would just kind of fade away since Sora defeating the Organization kind of made them become irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. Any thoughts or whatever concerning this? *shrugs*

1) I'd like to start off by saying, I don't want to create a Keyblade Wielder, I prefer to create side characters. That said, I think limiting Keyblades to two players isn't very authentic. Almost everyone other than Donald and Goofy have a Keyblade. Even Lee, who hadn't even been revived for that long managed to summon a Keyblade. In fact, a better example is Kairi. She was a blob for most of the series but still manages to wield a Keyblade. Anyway, the point I'm trying to make is that the KH Universe isn't short of Keyblade Wielders. Anyone with a strong enough heart can wield a Keyblade. With this is mind, limiting Keyblades to two characters is basically saying those are the only two characters who have strong enough hearts. I think each character should be be able to obtain a Keyblade so long as they perform the Keyblade Inheritance Ceremony, which I'm not sure how all of us would do but it is the only explained cannon way to become a Keyblade Wielder. My suggestion is that we allow everyone who wants to, to eventually wield a Keyblade, emphasis on eventually. If your worry is that the enemies will seem weak in comparison to our army, just think of stronger enemies! Haha.

2. I like your stance on Nobodies.

As a matter of fact, Darth Vader makes more sense than Shrek. The new Star Wars films are owned by Disney meaning we'll more than likely get to see this universe within a Kingdom Hearts game at some point, much in the same way we saw Pirates of the Caribbean and Tron, two live action films adapted for the Kingdom Hearts Universe.

I think you know darn well what I meant about Shrek and Darth Vader. Just because Star Wars and Marvel are technically owned by Disney does not mean they should be included, because they're just too bloated with worlds and cultures of their own. Shrek at least is a single, self-contained world and he at least feels like a Disney character to some degree. Mind you, this doesn't mean I have plans for the character or world, I was just cherry-picking it as an example.

And yeah, either we have limited Keyblades, or none at all. Maybe I just have different taste, but as soon as the KH games started handing out Keyblades like candy to everyone that was when I started losing interest. The Keyblade is supposed to be the prophesied weapon that defeats the darkness and saves the universe. That doesn't sound like the kind of power I want everyone and their dog to possess. It's like Super Saiyans, you know the legendary warrior that's supposed to be born only once in a thousand years? The meaning of that was also completely ruined when that show started giving every bloody person the ability to transform into one. Kingdom Hearts effectively did the same thing with the Keyblades and I aim to rectify it in this RP's world.

"Darn" well? You need to relax, Sally Sensitive. Nothing I wrote was a personal attack against you. You asked for our opinions and I gave it to you, politely.

Anyway, you've lost my interest because of two reasons,

A) Your attitude.

B) Your idiocy.

Far from idiocy? BrassOtter, I'm afraid you're mistaken about the definition of some of the words you just used. Double's post was the epitome of idiocy - stupid behavior. Additionally, you're confused about the meaning of "Violence". There's been no violence in this thread.

Anyway, I'm not entirely sure why you chose to engage me in conversation, all you've accomplished is stirring the pot. Congratulations.

You two must have an absurd definition of the word "mature". I didn't curse, I didn't (intentionally) use any angry or venomous words in my response. I'd say that's extremely mature, but what do I know?

Oh, and those opinions I asked for? That was two weeks ago, my friend, back before I had made any real decisions about what kind of game I wanted to run. But by now I have made those decisions, as evidenced by the thorough set of rules I have laid out in my opening post.

Okay, seriously dude, now you're just intentionally making negative posts. Please stop. As a matter of fact, erase your posts so the negativity doesn't drive others away. Continue and I will call the mods.

Its stupid, I know.

Anyway, sup. Also you may not have planned to use Shrek, but I can tell where you got the idea for him from ;3

As well as the WDS (Good ol Darkness Origins. I am planning on restarting that soon btw).

Anyway, it'll be interesting to see how this turns out, so count me inneth.

Depends on how you handle the spells. Ultimately it should be fine, so long as you're not learning a ton of enemy abilities all at once.

I wouldn't be. And im gonna have it to where he has to still be conscious after the attacks and he has to have received damage from them (to balance it out, so if he wants to learn something he can't reflect or avoid it, blocking it maybe if it still hits him hard, but no complete evasion. )

So, I have an OC that was originally from a made-up world that only had mages, and I have general background stuff for that world that goes with my character. (She was originally used in a Kingdom Hearts Academy sort of setting) I know you mentioned that cure is out, which is fine, but how would you like me to tweak her in order to better fit your roleplay? I can post my character sheet with everything in it, if you want, or I could explain it first? I don't get to use her often because no one seems to rp Kingdom Hearts anymore. xD

To answer a few questions:

1. WIP stands for Work In Progress, meaning that section of the CS is not yet complete but will be as soon as possible. (I believe Sezir asked this)
2. To answer another of Sezir's questions, it's alright if you haven't played in a while. It's been a while for me as well, so there won't be any problems.

3. For Kacchi's question, I have no problem with you using an original world, and if the character can still work without starting with Cure then it should be be fine.

4. Ren... actually, never mind. I was going to ask you to delete one of your spells, but then I remembered you were going for a Blue Mage type of character, which technically counts as a mage so... yeah, you can keep the two spells.
5. Finally the skills question. Admittedly this one's a little vague, but to put it simply, Skills are going to unique things that characters do that don't fall under Magic or Shotlocks. Things like Ren's Blue Magic, or other Final Fantasy inspired class abilities can go there.

So in a nutshell, if it's not a Shotlock or Magic, put it in Skills.

Name:
Promise Enrique
Age:
16
Gender:
Male
Appearance:

His face is exactly like the picture, he has skinny build and is a bit of average height, small framed. He is usually seen with black work trousers with loads of pockets, a white jumper with a black overall vest over it, he sometimes wears goggles above his head, while at work he wears them properly.
Personality:
Promise is a non believer, he is bland and slightly bitter. He has manners towards people and he can be nice to talk to, but he always thinks ahead and is always right. He pity's people with big dreams he finds impossible to come true, he doesn't, he doesn't believe in a world full of colour he just believes in the black and white. A stubborn boy he is and up front sometimes. He will always battle out an argument to prove he is right and will lend a hand to others, but never expect them to lend a hand for him. " Stay back its fine, I will help you later.. Just let me sort this one out myself."
History:
Promise was born into a well family that provided, this boy was no poor one but he earned what he had got and knew responsibility, some could say a little to well. He done majority of things himself, from cooking to cleaning to even getting a job at an early age. But he would always lose something, he'd always lose a friend, a lover, respect, and even kindness due to his stubborn and selfish ways as he didn't want to owe anyone anything and wanted to provide for himself.

He is an apprentice engineer trying to learn how ships run and earn an honest trade. He is proud of his accomplishment though not happy. He truthfully seeks to explore the land but his hopes for that have been long extinguished by the harsh reality. "I don't believe in crappy fairy tales" He always says.

Weapon:
He actually has no logic of any weapon but any light melee weapon will do for him. From lead pipe, to a wooden light weight sword. He will have to taught techniques but he can defend himself for a short period of time, no master swordsmen though.
Skills:
Grenade throw?(He just throws one of his grenades, cause a small explosion?)

Shotlock: (Leave this blank for now, abilities like these are to be learned over time.)
Magic:
He has no knowledge of magic yet, hasn't even stepped foot out to even try it.
Summon: (Leave this blank for now as well, like Shotlocks these will be acquired over time.)

(I'd like to ask if he could a keyblade wielder, its why I made him so weak because I want to build up, make him learn things and eventually when he is ready to become a keyblade wielder and earn his key. Are you ok with that, are you ok with this Cs? I hope so as I do like this and hope we can start :) Thanks for reading)
