What does this even mean

IC. And ooc.

Entirely seperate concepts. I could a total dick on IC, and try to shoot you with a death laser for taking the last cream doughnut in super serous mode.

And joke about in OOC and relax.

Theres a line between toe two concepts.

Oh, it's supposed to be "There's a line". I see.

Yeah. Being actually bitched at just for being rude IC is a totally new situation I've just encountered, and it's possibly one of the dumbest things I've seen in years.

Aye. That's pretty dumb. Up there with investing in Nigerian royal family investment funds.

When your character is a complete jackass and someone out of character starts ranting at you to "RESHPECKT WEMMON"

Okay, I know that it's anime but somehow that horse mask grows teeth when it smacks her.

You want a better world? Stop fussing like a toddler and write one.

Had someone like that not long ago. Complained that they weren't getting their "literary freedom" because they tossed out everything the GM and players established (they had the higher ground and the opponents had no knowledge of where they were but somehow everyone and their mother snuck up on them) and wanted to write their character as a badass instead of having any semblance of being a trained professional (like everyone else did) when a battle started. This is along with their constant desire to make their character the center of the RP by taking in a child and a bear cub in matter of a few days IC time (despite being in a post apocalyptic world) and having their characters (PCs and NPCs) hook up with everyone in sight. Needless to say they ragequitted and killed off their characters after a long argument with the GM.

I honestly can't explain it either.

*inhale*

I've seen this, too. Like, if you want a story where you're so goddamn important, then write your own story. Don't invade an RP expecting everything to revolve around you; Especially a group RP where the GM has a world built up and has a lot of people to work with to try and get the roleplay to work. There's a difference between literary freedom and being a complete idiot that steps outside of the boundaries of the world they're writing for: Like, bruh, come on.

I guess the good news to come out of it is that they eventually gave up and left. Though not without harming morale with their idiotic fussing, if I had to guess.

@Raddum I honestly don't know how many times I and other players had to remind them of simple information as well. Even information that was in the first post of the OOC. They would conveniently "forget" and say you're talking down to them despite stating the obvious.

Edit: I should add this is the same person who accused my friend of godmodding after they made a deliberate point to see if our character acknowledged their character cutting their hair in an edgy fashion. Apparently italicized thoughts = godmodding since they were apparently my character's thoughts even though my friend wrote them for his character.

And even before that they left a RP for being "too slow" despite the GM being in the hospital and the other players saying they were struggling to find time to post due to school and work IRL.

@Poi How annoying.

There's always the occasional mistake that can be forgiven, but when you play the fool and always forget, you're obviously full of shit. Especially when you get on the defensive and try to argue things rather than looking at facts and accepting them.

Some people just love to cause conflict.

Plus, when I join Post-Apocalyptic roleplays I already have the pretense of expecting my character to die and to not be a doofus. Players should know the setting, tone, expectations, and follow the logic that has been established. Self-oriented nonsense and contrivances should be kept to a precise minimum.

why the fuck is every single person in the goddamn thread introducing their character by beating some faceless npc

This isn't good writing, it doesn't make your character look good, all it does is be some half-assed attempt at showing your character being a badass without any goddamn stakes in the situation since you had complete control to begin with. And like, I could get it if it was just one guy doing it, because one guy being a bad writer isn't so bad... but why the fuck did 4 people all think it was a good idea?

Granted, I also introduced my character by winning fairly quickly in that particular RP... by beating one of the player characters who introduced themselves on a win, stole something from the NPC they won against, giving some actual substance to the NPC by making them a classmate of my PC and actually having my character get their ass kicked for the most part. Not only that, but the thing she put up in return was proportionally not at all worth it to getting back what her classmate had stolen from him.

now, I ain't exactly the pinnacle of writing prowess, but at least I don't make my character out to be some kind of ultra badass with nothing to show for it. The situation described above was arguably the weakest 'win' in the entire thread so far.

(also this is a trashy ygo rp on another site so i'm kind of asking to be pissed off at that point)

EDIT: Oh it got better.

Nevermind the fact my character moved somewhere else after that encounter and started talking someone a good distance away, oh no. Your character recovers from a blackout instantly, can scale a roof, find the fucking duo due to some superhuman hearing ability or some shit and call out to them.

luckily someone saved the encounter by bumping into them and falling off the roof

except that guy now blatantly moved my character and the one they're interacting with through space and time to move them back to the place where the duel happened, bumping into her conversation partner AND giving the first guy a chance to cling to her leg.

What the fuck is wrong with these people.

@Ammokkx I managed to discover you and your RP by a smidgen of chance.

After taking a look, I must say you should have expected this. I'm not sure how that RP could send out more intense "Bad RP" vibes.
