Background
Enis was born to a family of local bureaucrats in Travnik in the province of Bosnia of the Ottoman Empire. His father, a local imam, began teaching him the sayings of Quran at an early age and the boy learned to read and write quite quickly. He, however, wasn’t very proficient at languages and struggled greatly at his attempts to learn Turkish fluently, though succeeded as he had to deal with the language through all his life. Despite his attempts to learn Arabic, the man never managed to become a fluent speaker of the language, only being able to understand the written word well, but unable to take part in a regular conversation with native speakers of the language. Enis was homeschooled until he reached the age of 16 when he travelled to Istanbul to study diplomacy and Islamic theology. He then joined various diplomatic missions to Europe and gained experience in his job. He experienced his father’s death when he returned to Travnik after approximately 15 years which hurt him greatly. He became the local imam and began preaching the Quran to the populace of the town. At the age of 33, he married his first wife, the daughter of a rich merchant from Sarajevo. In the span of five years, he met two more women who joined his harem. Meanwhile, his first wife gave birth to two children. When he was 41, a tragic event happened: bandits broke into his residence in Travnik, kidnapped his family, and seemingly disappeared from the surface of Earth afterwards. Deeply affected by the tragic event, Enis decided to move as far from his home as he could. He returned to Istanbul and was offered the job of an Ottoman ambassador in Aeraport by Sultan’s court. Enis accepted it and decided to devote his life to his new job as it was seemingly the only thing he had left. Being a quite patriotic man as well, he is currently trying to increase the Ottoman influence in the newly discovered world and as well convert the dwellers to Islam, claiming that the Islamic cosmogony would tolerate a hollow Earth, in opposition to the Christian one.
