At this rate I am sure everyone has seen it by now, but the signs being found all throughout the state of California seem to be an organized effort. I admit, they are pretty humorous even if in a bit of poor taste. In other related news that is much more serious, Immigration and Customs Enforcement is apparently planning a tremendous increase of presence in the state, as referenced by Director Thomas Homan, one of his quotes being:

"If the politicians in California don't want to protect their communities, then ICE will. We're gonna be all over the place and we're going to enforce the law without apology."
Thomas Homan, Director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement

This elevated, aggressive stance comes as a result of the acquittal around the murder of Kate Steinle by an illegal immigrant who was deported five times and the official sanctuary status of the state, as well as the following information released by the agency's director.

I've been paying more attention to the whole

"Yeah!? Well my nuclear button is on my desk too, and it's bigger than yours."

I love that sign. So fucking true.

Glad ICE is stepping up when the commie bastards intentionally failed.

@Normie Not that I think anarchy is actually a viable political strategy for a productive society, it also doesn't really bring into account the great advancing of our society. I highly doubt it would be as simple and barbaric as those times, even considering the stereotype of what anarchy looks like. I disagree that it would just merely lead to the exact same form of government necessarily, or even have a governmental structure.

Though I suppose it depends on exactly where it's taking place, but the government also once used be a free public service that wasn't a paid job and didn't tax or have very much authority over anyone else. Also, I'd honestly feel safer in a world that started from anarchy, than one with strict governmental control like a dictatorship.

Also, despite not being my particular brand of politics. I'll play the devil's advocate and post someone's detailed explanation on why anarchy "would" work. (Though I disagree, it's not any less convincing than socialism.)

New Topic: We got any new resolutions?

*looks around to make sure he isn't lectured for not mentioning politics*

Well, I do have some (hopefully) reasonable goals for this year. Like losing a couple more pound when it warms up, get into daily excerise routine like my previous summer. (or at least maintaining the weight I have now. But I've been doing that longer than I realized after further thought.) But enjoying my new solo apartment life and my year in general would be a nice start. ;D

@catchamber *just to mention again for clarity sake I disagree with some of the things he presumes as well, hence devil's advocate, I myself could point out flaws.*

Like? (Because the introduction isn't really particularly the actual meat of the debate.)

Also, you told me how one day the government wouldn't need to run the world and that people could live without taxation even nowadays. So you probably agree with more things in the introduction than I do. :P

Theoretically, governments aren't even necessary to manage the world today.
