Yeah, you can make a CS if you'd like- though you may have to PM it to me first just to get it all set up if you've got a good idea of what sort of character you want.

I'd seriously recommend taking him up on the pm idea. King is very helpful and great to chat with. At the very least you'll avoid throwing up a potentially embarrassing CS on the OOC.

What squad roles are open for a character? If nothing, i could make a rifleman/assistant automatic rifleman.

Something like that would fit- A Combat Life Saver, or the team's go to medic, could come in handy, as a specialist rather than just the trained basics as the rest of the team would know, as well as being the ammo carrier (ie. when the team is running low on mags, your character can toss them a magazine).

Mihail and his surviving family fled to the Greek mainland for the remainder of the war, hoping to be safe from the violence. After the war, they returned to find their homeland in ruins, and struggled to return to their lives. History: Born in Trim, Irland. He grew up with three brothers and one sister. He worked as a box boy for the local good store and earned a decent weeks pay. He made it through school with flying colors in both Science and History, fields of interest he had intended to pursue. He was to go to college but heard his brothers were all joining the Army Ranger Wing, after some time he was convinced he had to go too. They all signed up and got plastered for a night on the town before they shipped out, and while drunk got tattoos of their brothers names on their right forearms. They were to cross out whoever died and the last one alive would have to go home to their mum.
They were all sent into bootcamp together training with french troops, Germans, Polish, Italians and Swedes. They had their own little European mixing pot of cultures, the boys became well versed and each took different sides of the army. The youngest of them Troy became a mechanic, the oldest of them Arthur became a medic, Brian became a marksman and combat engineer, and then there was the second youngest Angus who became a member of the bomb defusal teams. Brian excelled in rifle shooting as well as unarmed combat, he also was capable of disarming traps as well as setting complex traps capable of neutralizing enemies.

Not really up for this CS, I'm afraid, since it doesn't fit. I mean, CTRG is the ELITE, not the regulars, and the story seems way to implausible. First Generation SCARs wouldn't be used, and that's not even the start of it...I mean, you've given absolutely no reason for why he's in CTRG in the first place, or any fitting development on what the hell he really does well in terms of working with a team. If you look at the other CSes, there's a trend they tend to follow in this RP. If you'd like, edit that extensively and I'll come back, but till then, there's not a chance I can accept that CS, since there's just no place for a soldier like that or any real grounding.

Ah...Only just checked my PMs. ><'' Dropped off the surface of the Earth for a bit while I had to deal with all the problems my conscription's kicking up.

Anyway, I'd like to join if there's space. Any restrictions on race, though? Would like to try a Singaporean character again. =P

Hmm, I suppose you can join in, since I'd like to keep the numbers hovering around five. Though that said, CTRG is restrictive to NATO, and as much as I'd like to have a Singaporean character, I don't know how it could work due to factors and all. You could get around this by having a half-Singaporean, half-British character if it's anything, as I got around it with Huscarl (Half Icelandic, Half Scots). What sort of role would you like- we've already got an Assistant Automatic Rifleman, but I reckon you'd be good to take an Explosives Specialist/Rifleman, and for the love of God, don't use a SCAR- that shit's overused in this RP now (cough cough use an MX/MSBS) :D Mail me for any equipment and the like you might want to configure for that role.

Name: Zdislav Cermak
Callsign: Mischief
Age: 28
Rank: Staff Sergeant
Appearance: Zdislav stands at a height of 1.81 meters. He has a muscular build that sits somewhere between bulky and slim. Officially, doctors describe him as having a slender build, but who knows just what 'slender' means. With a naturally impish look, Zdislav looks every bit as mischievous as his callsign implies. He has striking blue eyes and an angular face. His auburn hair is kept as long as he is allowed to keep it.

Weapons:

Primary
CZ 805 A4
- Standard length, standard weight barrel
- ARCO sight
- Magpul AFG
- AN/PEQ-16
- Custom threaded muzzle brake for quick-detach silencer
Ammunition carried: 1 Magazine in rifle + 8 on vest (Four double pouches); total rounds: 270

Secondary
CZ 75 SP-01 (Holstered in belt-mounted, hard shell holster)
- Laser pointer
Ammunition carried: 1 magazine in pistol + 3 on vest (Single triple pouch); total rounds: 48

Launcher
RPG-7V
- Red Dot Sight
Ammunition carried: 1 PG-7VL Single-Stage HEAT warhead loaded, 2 GSh-7VT Anti-Bunker rockets (Disassembled and stored in purpose-built quiver attached to backpack)

OR (If AT Capability take precedence)

Carl Gustaf M3
Ammunition carried: 1 FFV441B HE rocket loaded, 2 FFV651 HEAT Rockets (Strapped to backpack. Unsafe, ill-advised, but it's the best he can do unless he can find someone to be his assistant gunner, or in other words, pack mule.)

Note: His preference in the RPG-7. Using the Carl Gustaf is only as a last resort if no other person is fulfilling the AT role.

Other
Bayonet for CZ-805 (Sheathed in drop-leg sheath on right side)

History:

Born in Brno, Zdislav has been around rifles literally from birth. His father worked in the local factory and would often speak at length about his experiences whenever he had the time. He would tell Zdislav all the intricate planning and research that went into the development of a rifle; the history behind the firearm and of course, the famous Bren gun which was half-developed by Brno. This fascination with weaponry eventually developed into a fascination with the military in general and it was of no surprise to everyone when Zdislav decided to sign up with the military once he hit 18. He had no specific unit in mind when he signed up; he just wanted to be around, and use, military hardware and get paid for it.

Of course, he had forgotten about the disciplinary side of things and quickly developed a reputation with his instructors as being a very enthusiastic, very capable but very mischievous recruit. It was during this period when he first received the nickname which would go on to be his callsign in whatever unit he served with. Like his fellow recruits, he passed basic and was soon posted for further training as an explosives expert. His natural fascination with weaponry, coupled with a can-do attitude and knack for destroying things made him a shoe-in candidate.

It was during his specialized training when his exceptional strength and endurance became very apparent. While most recruits floundered during the first few days with the heavy load they were expected to carry, Zdislav found no problems with lugging and RPG, rockets for the RPG and several blocks of C4 over a five kilometer march. He did get tired eventually, after the fourth Kilometer, but that was still two kilometers further than most recruits. This exceptional endurance, along with his can-do attitude and overall enthusiastic demeanor made him a very attractive choice for the 601st.

What went on during his training with the 601st is still classified information, but what is know is that he was part of the Czech contribution to a European Union peacekeeping mission in Nigeria. While his official orders were to police the area and purge it of any hostile militia forces, the 601st unit he was attached to ended up being used to disrupt the militia forces through sabotage and constant raids to keep them on their toes. During this conflict, Zdislav became notable for being promoted from corporal to staff sergeant within the space of a week. He went from corporal to sergeant on a Monday for his invaluable assistance for rigging every militia vehicle in a compound with explosives charges within a record time of half an hour. He was unofficially promoted to staff sergeant on Thursday after the previous staff sergeant of his squad was killed in an ambush. That promotion was soon made official on Saturday in light of another fight Zdislav was involved with, this time for taking the initiative to use his bunker-busting warheads to score a total of two mobility kills on enemy armoured vehicles.

He had a run-in with Huscarl once or twice, but they were never in a situation where they could talk. Zdislav admired the man for his skills and thought of their encounters as forgettable for both parties. However, an invitation from Huscarl to join Task Force Husky proved Zdislav wrong.

Skills:

- Trained in the handling, detonation, disarming and removal of explosives
- Trained in airborne and seaborne insertions
- Trained in raiding, sabotage and behind-enemy lines missions
- Fluent in German, Croatian and Slovak. Conversational in Serbian and Slovenian
- Incredibly durable, even for 601st standards

Equipment:

CTRG Combat fatigues (UBACS Camouflage)
BK-6 Helmet (UBACS Camouflage)
- Modified to accept helmet mountings
- Mounted with NVGs and Flashlight
Ballistic sunglasses
Kheffiyeh (He has an assortment of colours. A bit of a collector when it comes to them)
NPP-2006 Plate Carrier + Belt (UBACS Camouflage, specially made)
Camelbak Hydration Carrier
Tactical Gloves
GPS
Basic communication equipment
2X Fragmentation Grenades
2X Coloured Smoke Grenades
First Aid Kit
Multi-tool
Modified Czech Army Backpack with provisions to carry two disassembled RPG rockets
- Rations for at least a day
- 3 blocks of C4 explosives
- Detonators
- 10 feet of Detonation cord
- Assorted wires
Name: Josephine Olivier
Callsign: Amethyst
Age: 30
Rank: Captain
Appearance: Standing at 1.65 meters tall, Josephine is a short and lithe woman. She rarely allows her auburn hair to grow past her shoulders. More often than not, she has a serious look on her face when flying and a generally bored look when doing anything else.
Weapons:

FN FNP-45 (4-five .45)
- Laser sight
- Extended magazine

Combat knife

History: Josephine was born in Marseille and led a life that could be considered luxurious. Her father, a rich businessman, was pretty much able to get her anything she could ask for. Of course, the only thing she ever did ask for and insist upon were flying lessons when she turned sixteen. Seeing no harm in it, her father paid for her to learn how to fly simple piston-powered aircraft. Even at such a young age, Josephine displayed an aptitude for flying, performing her first solo flight only after a few months of lessons and earning her license at age 18. Much to her family's disappointment, however, she did not pursue any further studies and ended up signing up with the French Air Force, fully expecting to become a fighter pilot.

Unfortunately, she failed to pass the medical checkup and while she was unfit to be a fighter pilot, she was able to fly combat helicopters. Josephine accepted that fact begrudgingly. She was resistant towards the idea of flying a helicopter at first, thinking that if she put up enough of a fight and filed enough appeals, she might manage to slip through and enter the cockpit of a Rafael. Eventually, however, she learned to respect the helicopter and it's capabilities. Though she still wishes to be a fighter pilot, she has redirected her driven personality towards flying the Comanche. If she's going to be a helicopter pilot, then she's going to be the best there is.

With her drive, skills and no-nonsense attitude towards just about everything, it was little wonder that she was picked to be sent to Altis.

Skills:

- Flying prodigy. So good at the controls it's like she was born to fly.
- Tenacious. She can be counted upon to complete any task given to her. Whether or not the helicopter can be used afterwards is a whole other matter.

Equipment:

- Flight Suit
- Multitool
- Fire-starting knife
- Flare gun

Name: Muhammad Shafiq Bin Rasheed
Callsign: Amethyst
Age: 28
Rank: Lieutenant
Appearance: Shafiq stands at 1.75 meters tall and is a muscular, heavy-set person. Most people wonder how he actually fits inside a helicopter. He has a smile on his face most of the time, a dead giveaway of his friendly and amicable nature. He keeps his black hair as short as he can without being considered bald.

Weapons:

TDI Vector (Vermin SBR)
- Extended Mag
- Red Dot Sight

History: Shafiq has a rather complicated history. He was born a Singaporean, but had the unfortunate luck of running afoul of the government by being linked to several activist groups on the island. Adding to that was his Malay ancestry, which made him ineligible for most of the combat vocations he wanted to serve in during his national service. He had always wanted to be a pilot in the air force, but instead, he was enlisted as a regular infantryman. He finished his two years of service without accomplishing much, but he had already made his mind up as to where he wanted to go. He had heard of the French Foreign Legion through the internet and decided that if it meant him getting to see some actual combat, it was worth a shot.

He spent a year working and learning how to speak French. At age 20, he boarded a flight for France and signed up for the Foreign Legion. Training was tough, and at times complete hell, but Shafiq proved to be tougher. He passed selection and was inducted into the Foreign Legion as a trainee. His time in service went without incident, and after three years, he renounced Singaporean citizenship and became a French citizen. His first, and last, combat assignment as an infantryman was in Nigeria, where he fought the CSAT-funded militia. He was wounded in action and subsequently honorably discharged from the legion due to the effects of his wounds.

After a year of recuperation, Shafiq found civilian life ill-suited for him and decided to give the French Air Force a shot. He had never thought they would actually agree to take him on, but when they did, he certainly was not about to complain. He was trained as a weapon's system's officer, given his lack of flying experience but his extensive knowledge of weaponry and his pair of good eyes. Eventually, he was assigned to Josephine's helicopter. With her skills and his eyes, they were a right menace in the skies.

Skills:

- Exceptional eyesight. Probably able to spot a polar bear in the Arctic from the sky.
- Legion trained. Just because he was discharged doesn't mean he's any less deadly or resilient

Equipment:

- Flight suit
- 4X signal flares
- Fire-starting knife

It's still not right. I mean, if you asked any of us, we'd all say that the character would never be realistically suitable for a inteligence unit. I mean, it pains me to say it, but you could never commit the scale of crimes he was involved in and be able to be enlisted- this is the culture in some countries still, but by no way would a SF unit be accepting. Second, I haven't made there to be any warfare in South Africa, ever, and there never will be in the lore of what I've based Hephaestus on. I don't like the idea that your character is somehow some sort of survivalist- in the unit, they aren't survialists, they're trained Special Forces, soldiers at peak physical endurance and skill, and stop at nothing to get the job done following years of concise training and following protocol. The M4 isn't used at this time in the future by the NATO forces, and the fact that such a soldier exists would be great for another RP, but not this one. As much as I may want to accept your character, again, I honestly can't. Look at the others- like I said, there's a trend, and if I'm honest, immersion is key. Familiarity with equipment and the weapons systems, the reality of warfare (not what say, you see in COD) is existent, and while people who may be a little crazed or pumped up do exist in the military, there's not a hope in hell that could happen. I mean, honestly, I would fundamentally re-write the CS in areas, take note of what you've seen in other CSes on here and consult me if you want to go ahead- until then, I can't have you in.
