We get it, you read a thesaurus. Learn to put the words together properly, don't just toss 'proclaimed' in where 'said' will do. Don't call yourself an 'advanced writer' who does three paragraphs a time, give me an example of what you do.

This sort of thing makes me wonder, what if you are playing a villain character or character with a nature that was either a foil or contradictory towards others? I'm sure any of these done over the top would be annoying. But at what point does the character's behavior qualify as "ruining everything for everyone?" Like, do you mean the player themselves are vindictive to the group and you can see that played out IC or OOC?

@Mariana Collie As my posted stated, it wasn't an rp thing currently. (Yet off tangenting, villains never bother me. Their purpose is to screw things up.)

Well, half the month is already over and I'm still not done with the process of moving. And I've had no extra time to focus and write for roleplaying, nor has my internet been consistent, so I might even have more delays when attempting to write for my fiction/rping. Yay.

...At least I'm actually doing some roleplaying?

You ever get that nagging feeling that your own pettiness for someone or their friends strips you of actually enjoying a RP and instead constantly find yourself divided between wanting to drop and staying because people are depending on you?

Like, I don't know what it is with me lately, but I've just been in possession of more salt than I have had in my 10 years of rping. It's honestly been killing my drive to roleplay as of late and the only things I've been able to write outside from the occasional post have been character sheets. Like, my characters heets have been great. It's just the actual post-writing and being involved in said roleplays that seem to be the fucking problem I haven't been able to talk to people about characters or anything because I'm just...dead? Idk, maybe that's not the right word. But my drive for certain RPs has been lacking severely and it's kind of driving me to a breaking point I didn't think existed.

Anyway, that's been on my mind, so respond to it or don't, but just needed to get it out.

I see this with a lot of people and that's not what RP is. What RP lacks now days (on Guild) is development between more than just GMs and co-GMs, but the players. You are all building the story and that interaction between characters is very important. Unfortunately, RPs on here have been only about gaining interest, players, and having absolutely no character interaction or story building. Or my favorite, when the Gm and co-GMs make the RP between themselves and everyone else is just "there."

These games go up one day and die the next. People need to slow down and actually care about the story they are planning to create. Even cycling through those people who are only there for the moment and not the long-term, helps the entire game. If you join or create a story that has a story that your players can contribute to and you monitor the quality of writers you have coming to your game because no offense, not all of them fit. Then your games will be more pleasant and shouldn't kill your mood. I have had to monitor my games and ever since I did, my games have been absolutely enjoyable and worth it. My players and I are all contributing to the story and we're just having a good time. Mind you, when I monitor, I am not denying these writers because I don't like them or for any non-RP reasons. I am denying their concept and even their writing style because it just simply doesn't fit the game. It is nothing personal or against them (though I'm sure they may take it that way even when I put a disclaimer out).

The petty shit that is prevalent on this site is not even a problem because it doesn't pour into my games. If there is a story you see that you like, then you should be able to join the game without a care of who is in it. The fact you let one writer or two kill your mood for enjoying a good story is a personal problem and it seems to only be killing your muse because it most definitely isn't bothering the people you have salt for. That is a waste of energy to me. That's like being a basketball player, loving basketball, and then not wanting to join the team because "so and so" is on the team. Very high school.

@Altered Tundra Even if you screw people over... if you're not enjoying the RP, or finding it difficult to engage with other people... then why are you in the RP?
