Noah Griffin

For several moments, Noah’s discomfort stirred in his core. The way she stared drew his awareness to the surface until it was almost suffocating. His head leaned back instinctively before Vae’s arms whipped out then shoved him backward. The action caught him off guard as he took a step back, his arms raised were she could see them.

“Whoa, whoa, what’s the big idea shoving me?!?” His words demanded.

His eyes tightened in suspicion while Noah’s feet tried to find purchase upon the slick, wet surface. However, the stone refused to grip his soles. He just kept slipping farther back. His weight tossed forward to catch his balance, his aim was to prevent himself from falling on his ass. Or worse, into the nearby bath. Unfortunately, he didn’t count on his shirt back being grabbed.

The tug was enough to tip the only balance he had gained.

Noah’s weight shifted backward, his knee twisted underneath him and crumbled promptly. The bath rose into his peripheral vision as he began to fall to it. The edge clipped his leg side when he went down. His hands reached out but fell short of taking Vae with him. Breath was knocked out of his chest upon impact, water filled the void left behind. A small yell drowned under the shallow edge’s surface.

A loud crack was heard when Noah’s temple hit the stone edge. Panic filled his mind as he rose to the surface, coughing the water from his lungs.Water cascaded around his figure while he attempted to regain his calm. His back was facing Yin, unaware or caring of the kitsune’s presence. Noah’s eyes scrunched up into pain, trying to focus past it. A warm, thick sensation trailed down his temple. Droplets scattered the water’s surface before the sting nailed into his skull, flaring in pain. Instinctively, Noah lifted his fingers to his temple.

They came away red. Sore and dizzy, he carefully tried to pull himself back upright. Vertigo hit him like a train dead on, Noah’s sense of balance became lopsided bring him down. His arm snapped out to brace using the bath’s edge.

“Shit…” Noah cursed under his breath.

”In order to find out why several Neniwa and Ihkwêwa ran away from the Nepi we’ll need to go inside. Once hell completely freezes over I'll be able to go inside by myself, until then Sir No, you'll have to play the knight in shining armor.” She said gently pushing him forward again. It wasn't that Vae was trying to harm the young man. Actually far from it. The girl had a gut feeling something wasn't right with that room. Something dangerous lingering in wait for a single victim to grab and pull her straight underwater.

The only thing which caused her to regret being in here was when she watched Noah slip. She should have known better considering all those infernal teaching of how a lady is supposed to act. Seen all day without a word passing your lips. A slight head nod there with a curtsey every time you greet the guest. If asked a question you're to spoke with perfect English or show them to the head of the household. ”Never should one go parading around like some animal like your old heritage allowed you to Vae. In order for you to help proudly represent our house name you’ll have to throw your old life behind. Completely behind.” Her grandmother's voice sounded inside her mind just as Noah's head hit the shallow end.

”I'm so sorry No. I didn't mean to get you hurt. We need to get you out of the bath. Do you have a medical kit?” She asked dropping her things and walking into the water to help him out.

Bodil Bera

The unpredictable monarch glanced at her. It was almost like watching a statue move its eyes for a moment. Like he had seen everything, done everything and life held no surprises and was utterly boring. That was Bodil's impression anyway. After all how long could life be interesting when you were as old as the wind? Or t least... wasn't he? She guessed so. He certainly wasn't human, so his life must be very very long to look so bored with everything all the time. And he did as old people do, reminisce about times gone by between the pages of books. And some of these books looked so forgotten they were rotting to dust on the shelves.

Bodil didn't touch anything. She was too distrustful. Who knew what was in the corners of those shelves or hidden under them? Spiders with a hundred eyes or mice that acted like pirana... Who knew! And she didn't want to find out. Testing her limits was reserved for the areas that she knew, like kicking out at your kidnapper or irritating him till he left you alone. She wasn't feeling lucky enough to brave the shadows of this odd library.

When the fae king spoke again, his voice seemed like it was barely there at all. Like he too was turning to dust and his voice was the first thing to go. Bodil hugged her arms and watched him. "Uh...no...they stopped schooling for girls after sixth grade," she murmured absently, looking curiously at the book from afar. Standing on her tiptoes she tried to get a glimpse but was too far away to see anything telling or interesting. Looking at the condition of some of his books and his furniture, she shook her head a bit. "You really should get it cleaned in here some time," she flicked her eyes over the dust covered floor, "Your things would last long if you took care of them."

The monarch said something about her kind being unable to perform magic. She shrugged. "Humans don't need magic to do hard work," she offered, "Though from the state of your Fae buildings you probably do need it." She sighed a bit and looked around up at the ceiling. "...I meant what I said," she huffed softly, "If you Fae took care of the things you were given, you wouldn't have to struggle so much to keep it or repair it." He reached a lean arm up to grab for another book, looking through it. What it was about, only he and the library knew. The Falkon King spoke about 'infrastructure' and 'economy' which Bodil had trouble keeping up with. 'Infrastructure' sounded like 'structure' so it must be some sort of important structure, which was probably the buildings and whatever. 'Economy' had 'eco' in it which the Englisher...er, landlady had complained about being bad if Bodil didn't re-cycle. Re-cycle learning had been weird too, but she had never thought about the little things she threw away as hurting the entire human planet.

Speaking of...were...they even on Earth? The question was dizzying and felt like washing ice water through her veins. Maybe... She might be able to find a map in here. Maybe it would help her get her bearings and be useful for any escaping. Slowly she moved, hand folded behind her back, eyes scanning the shelves like she was just looking over every poor, abused book in his collection. "I don't quite understand," she offered slowly as if thinking, "If the land is what gives you energy and needs to be restored, why didn't you keep up with it while you had it?" Another question as to why the Fae didn't take care of what they had. Oddly enough...a lot of this was sounding similar to the humans and Global Warming... Not taking care of the planet while it was still healthy and trying to backtrack to keep it from dying.

But Global Warming, a state in which all weather patterns were thrown into chaos, summer days in the middle of winter, affecting plants and animals and thereby effecting humans as necessary food dwindled down to nothing... Global Warming was a crisis. Did that mean the Fae were in a crisis? If so they were acting a lot like humans. Some partying it up and being entirely useless. Other struggling to the point of emotion breaking to fix what was extremely difficult to fix. Either way you looked at it, the Fae had very humanlike traits. And it was starting to creep Bodil out. She almost felt...sorry for them.

"So you are trying to fix multiple big problems that not everyone sees as problems," she murmured looking over a big book that might look kind of like an atlas book or be a big beast encyclopedia, "Now that is familiar." She peeked over at him as he talked about the bloody politics of the Fae. Reminded her of that tv show about the dueling lords and ladies of a land where sheer wit and cunning meant you could be a ruler...if you were willing to kill for it. Scary. Bodil had stopped watching that channel after seeing only part of an episode. She had been in the Englisher...er, real world for about a week. Even after a month, the sheer number of shows on the tv had overwhelmed her because she had been afraid of getting another scary show or learning about how little she really knew the world.

"So as you secretly fight your rival Fae in politics...you also have to fix all the buildings, heal the land, restore magic, and keep order of this chaotic kingdom of freaked up Fae," Bodil shook her head and crouched down a bit to look at another book. She jumped a bit when it looked back. "Your job s-storta sucks, huh?" For some reason, it felt like he had looked at her, but she hadn't been paying enough attention to read into it. "Sooo if I understand right," she tapped her chin looking at another shelf, "the Fae," she gestured absently to him, "got so overwhelmed that they brought humans," she gestured to herself, "like me, here to do..." Bodil let her hand circle in the air for a moment. "Grunt work? Stuff easy for humans to do while Fae did big stuff."

Bodil felt heat creeping up her neck. Part of her was still ticked that they thought slavery was the best plan of attack for all their issues. Why hadn't they just asked for help and been the good fairies of the Englisher tales? Well... Bodil thought about it, almost reaching for a book, but thinking better of it. Humans would never help anyone, especially Fae. Human refused to even help themselves. Sighing, the dark-haired woman let her head tip forward a bit. Why why why was she starting to understand the Fae? It made it hard to purely hate them, though it didn't make up for their kidnapping ways. Well, best to try to make due...

"You know, if the humans were treated better, you'd not only get better work out of them but they," she actually gestured to herself again, "wouldn't be so scared and act up all the time." Bodil scrunched up her face a bit. "I mean the auction? Terrifying. The month-long march? Awful. The jerk shepherd who kills and maims people all the time for the hell of it? Nightmare inducing." She held open her arm and looked up at the library ceiling. "Explaining the issues to the captured humans would take out a lot of the fear, give them stuff to think about," she let her arms drop down, "Like, I dunno, 'you're going to work till you repay your wish' or something."

"And I am sure you guys have carts right? Docile animals to haul carts too?" she seemed to be getting more energetic, flicking a hand at him like it was some great revelation and she had to keep going, "That would make transporting faster and easier. We humans are pretty fragile, you know? I've got blisters on my blisters!" Bodil picked up her foot and shook it about.

"And couldn't the guy in charge of the human herd," she winced at the analogy but kept going, "Couldn't he be I dunno, I nice lady who points out landmarks instead? You know, someone who doesn't kill and maim for the fun of it? Desperate humans get anxious and more rebellious the more they are antagonized. Well, I mean normal ones do. The group I came with was full of cow-eyed weirdos..."

Bodil waved the comment off like it didn't really matter. "Anyway, anyway, just some stuff like that could probably make it easier," she peered at a purple book spine, going back to her 'contemplative' stance, "I mean it sounds like you Fae are in a bit of bind... Humans like me only get more awful when treated bad, ya know? I mean, I probably still would have been upset, but I probably wouldn't have gotten into a fight with the Fox had things been a bit different... Maybe."

Erin Céleste

oh. oh.

You look away for one second here, and suddenly someone's dead.

Erin watched in silence as the Lamia's body- suddenly a corpse- bled out and fell to the ground like a child's discarded doll. It was strange how someone who'd been so intimidating at first could be so suddenly destroyed in such a way. As Thymond introduced himself, Erin couldn't bring herself to say anything in reply. He'd just killed someone, and the entire time he's calm? Something is really off about this guy...

"You can say that again," She muttered to herself in Spanish in response to the voice, before switching to English and speaking up to address Thymond. "Are you a cop? Or, the fairy-world version? How are you so... happy about this?" That didn't seem like the right word, but perhaps it was better to just say something than to sit and puzzle out how to speak. He went on to say she could ask him questions now, but that he'd be taking her to someone else as well. She sighed and shook her head slightly as she resigned herself to her apparent fate- a hot-potato tossed between all these strange creatures in this messed-up world. "Fine. Lead and I will be with you. Vámonos."

Thymund White

Thymund’s face would remain unchanged as she looked at him in apparent horror. He had just killed Desdemona with what appeared to be next to no effort. What effort he used was hardly even resisted, it was as though her fear of him alone was what pierced her throat. Of course, it was rather obvious that he had used his claws. Upon being asked another question, Thymund’s face would finally change. “A cop?” He would pause as she continued, asking how he was able to remain as calm as to appear happy with what he had done. “Desdemona has had personal affronts with both myself and those that I associate with. I thank you for leading me to her, human. I do not often have the chance to enjoy my job. But please know that I have no intentions of killing anyone else… I simply could not allow her to elude me for a third time.”

After explaining, she would then tell him to lead on. Thymund would speak without a smile as he looked over the woman. “Please wait outside. I have some cleaning up to do.” Thymund would open the small doorway without turning around fully. “And you, goblin. You will be assisting me.” He would look to Erin. “Do not wander off, if anyone else claims you I will be forced to break my loosely worded promise.” He would frown slightly. “I will only be a moment.” Thymund would wait for her to exit the room. He was very used to being obeyed, however he knew that he would not be appreciated should he cause too much of a scene. Not by this woman nor by the ones that he retrieved her for.

-Location: Under the Mountain/ Lower Quarter-

The goblin looks at Thymond and nods weakly. "I-I suppose you have questions, as well?" His voice was a wheezy thing. Wringing knobby hands the Fae looked worriedly at the papers. Some splattered with blood and venom from the naga. Thymond would note this hidden stairway, and should Erin go outside. She would see a slight crowd gathering. Old and young looking curiously as the door opened and trying to peer in at the ugly scene. Typical among humans, even so among Fae. Though none dared to approach and many of those less bold quickly wandered back to their own doings should they catch glimpse of Thymond. None wanting to tangle with that one.

-Location: Court of Nightmares/Servant Quarters-

Continue as you will.

-Location: Falk's Hall-

Falk snapped the book he was reading close, as he fixed stormy eyes on the mortal who dared to question him. His power whirled in dark shadows as it readied to his call. But the thought to harm was banished quick as it came. She was not the first to ask such things. No the original owner of those clothes had been just the same. To answer one question would lead to several others. There was a noise of reassignment to his willingly taken doom. The only good news was this one was human, she would perish sooner and with less questions and destruction than the other. "As for why we 'didn't take care of the Land'... We did. Then the ancient enemy came and brought war with it. Many of our leaders fell, and left the rest of us to pick up the pieces of the world and restore it. Many forgot this and moved their motive to more... beneficial things. So as you so eloquently put it- my job 'sucks'." He stated the last bit with dry sarcasm.

He raised a brow as she went on to talk about why not treat the humans better? A easier way. And Bodil would be greeted with a rare sound. Laughter, of a sort. A muffled 'heh' of amusement. Not much of a laugh, but one none the less. The king shook his head slowly, this girl was really so blind of the dangers? It showed why he picked the path he did for those 'cow-eyed wierdos'. "And tell me. If this nice, charming lady were to ask you for your name would you give it? Would you feel at ease to ask her for things? Information, items, her own name?" He gestured and Bodil found him behind her. A hand over her eyes, as she saw this 'woman' in the shadows of his palm. As if she was actually standing on a forest trail. A elderly old woman, the very nature of kind and caring. Giving out blankets and food.

"For each blanket, they owe her their first child. For each loaf of bread they owe her any favor she wishes. For each question answered, she may ask a question in turn. For their name given..." Bodil would see a couple among the group screaming as the woman ripped their babe from their arms. The young human couple unable to move to stop her and forced to watch while she bartered the babe off. "That babe will grow up a season-born, a slave, or he will be eaten." The voice was as cold as the north wind, and twice as bleak. For a loaf of bread, Bodil would see a man sobbing as he kills a beautiful young woman. The Fae Granny watching on in glee as the human brings her the face which she puts over her own face and takes the form of the beautiful woman. That scene fades to black. "A favor could be anything. To kill someone, to deliver something. Another child, a sister, brother, mother. It could be to sell out a conspiracy of humans. But once a favor is paid- that chain is broken. Something must be given of equal value to what was accepted." This time the voice was not as bleak and actually seemed to consider this quite reasonable.

He released Bodil, walking out from behind her to a large scroll. Gesturing her to come closer, he laid the map of the Fae Realm on the coffee table. Knocking a pillow from his way and to the floor. Stepping back so she could view the land for herself, shadows whirled across the parchment. Mountains rose from the parchment as did ruins, trees, towns and valleys. Great swaths of plains and forests covered the landscape ringed by water. The Court of Nightmares was depicted on it, as was his Hall in the Autumn woods. To the South was a great tree. "Yggdrasil." He noted, the home of his 'wife'. His eyes looking sadly at the map and the mist covered water.

Raposo~Yin

Yin watched the denied human leave and chuckled as both new humans were shoved in. And then the male decided to have a moment. He watched with raised brows and slowly rose in the water until barely anything of his naked self was covered in the water.

Yin proceeded to quickly wade over to Noah and once he was behind the man he tapped his shoulder. "that was quite the stumble human" with quick movements he firmly grasped Noah and spun him around. Upon seeing the blood he smiled and moved a finger across to get some on it and licked his finger. "An injury is rather unfortunate."

Yusuke~Atisuto

Yusuke chuckled. "No offense given so no need for an apology" He offered a smile and nodded. "I am indeed an artist, but my art is visual while yours is auditory" He lightly pulled out his sketchbook and a pencil. He could still observe just fine and sketching was something he couldn't help.

Yusuke leaned his head back and looked up at Elsa for a moment. "I see this more as an opportunity for art I would not be able to do anywhere else. As long as I can keep doing my art i am more than happy" pencil went to paper and he began sketching. "That and it's a first hand experience of what Fae are like....while I might not get to leave...I don't find myself too upset with my situation." He offered a smile and kept sketching.

Noah Griffin

As Noah’s mind cleared, his skin shivered. His water soaked shirt plastered to his surface and hindered his movement, weighing them down. It messed with his already delicate balance while he managed to find the pool’s edge. That didn’t last very long. With his back turned to Yin, Noah didn’t see the mischievous fox approach him until it was too late.

His spine stiffen abruptly when the clawed finger tapped his shoulder.

“I’m fin-” Before Noah could finish his sentence, he was brought about-face to his concerned… demon.

Dread polluted his calm and steady mind, assisted by the dizziness that washed over him when Yin twisted him about. A queasiness swelled into his middle then rushed up. He swallowed the harsh liquid splashing at his throat, his hands pulled behind him to steady himself. A sharp sting flooded his attention when the finger wiped across the wound. Noah’s knuckles tightened, becoming white at how close Yin had gotten.

‘Don’t look down… Don’t look down…’ Noah kept repeating in his head as he fixed his eyes at Yin, his expression frozen in an indifferent one.

Erin Céleste

Erin listened as Thymond explained his actions- how the Lamia had been a menace, apparently, and that he'd been after her for a while. As she listened, she noticed that he spoke so she could understand him. He may not have been doing it on purpose, but he was using words that were simple and direct enough that she felt confident hearing them in English and knowing for sure what he meant. As he opened the door to the corridor outside and asked her to wait for him, she complied simply because of that.

Stepping through the door she heard him say something about wandering off, and suddenly she was alone in the corridor, surrounded by a group of curious creatures. None of them approached her, they all seemed more interested in trying to see into the room where the Lamia's body still lay so close to the doorway. When Thymond closed the door however, many of them turned and walked away at the sight of the man. Erin got the feeling that he was a more notorious figure than he let on- if he wasn't a cop, then he had to be a hitman or something similar. People didn't act like this for any of the other dead Fae she'd encountered. Of course, they hadn't been killed just then, so maybe there was a crowd simply because the scene was still fresh?

Standing by the door made her feel uncomfortable, with all the people staring. So, she walked down the hall about 5 feet, leaning with her back against the cavern wall to wait for Thymond, as he said to do.

Bodil Bera

Bodil flinched when Falk snapped the book he was reading closed. She blinked and looked back at him as he fixed storm-colored eyes on her. He looked irritated, but then again his weirdly handsome face always sort of looked like that. Well, so as long as he wasn't reading. Though a stoic face could always been seen as angry. Especially on this guy.

"Ancient enemy..." She murmured softly, but then just shook her head a bit, "Yeah, not touching that one." But she did get the bit about their leaders going bye bye. No wonder all these childish Fae were running around like violent, destructive children. It was sort of like this Fowl King was the eldest kid trying to keep all the younger kids in line.

"Beneficial thing, huh?" She crossed her arms and tilted her head, "So all the kids got bored with being good and behaving and decided to do whatever they want. Yeah, I can see that." The human rubbed the back of her neck and murmured a sound of wondering. He really was like the elder kid whom no one would listen to. She glanced at him with a hint of pity.

T King had made a noise. An odd muffled huff of air that whispered through the library like the rustle of dead leaves in trees. He shook his head at her and it was her turn to get irritated. "You could still give the cattle some carts, no matter the path," she frowned and glanced at the passing images in his palm. Bodil's frown turned to a frustrated scowl. "Who cares about that old monster?" She grumbled, "A cart ride on that long trip doesn't mean a run in with her."

"But I get it, it is too much trouble," she grumbled, "Can't keep tabs on all of the monsters in a place that has no police... Or compassion for that matter." Bodil looked up at the king, hands on her hips. Ticking up her chin, she met his eyes. "There is always a better way."

The human female looked at the Fae King as if they were equals. She looked around the library once it returned. He gestured for her to come with him and surprisingly enough, she followed without so much as a question. The map on the coffee table shimmered with dark shadows and she rubbed her eyes. Another illusion. Fae Magic sure did mess with the eyes.

Peering with cautious curiosity, she tipped her head to the side. It was like a little world had grown on the coffee table. Freaky. But...sort of...cool. The human female's sharp eyes measured the map and tried to absorb as much information as possible. Looking up at the king when he mentioned an odd but somehow familiar word, she peered at him curiously then too. The ever stoic and stormy dark King almost seemed sad and lonely.

"Hm..." She leaned down to get a closer look to the sparkling land of fertility. "Your...partner, right?" Bodil looked over the strange land. "You guys must get lonely since you can't get together often." She let her face soften some. "Loneliness and despair seem pretty common no matter if it's here or in the human world."

Vae never really saw the fox behind them but then again her main concern was No. Her hand reached outwards as if to help stop the male from going any farther. A rather idiotic choice on the girl's part considering there was not actual way to keep the injured person upward properly. A cruel fact considering a woman, who is built to withhold children in womb for 9 months, wasn't able built to help keep a full grown male supported. The native American stayed quiet as she attempted to carefully word her next phrase towards this animal.

”Apologies for disturbing your bath wâkoshęha. I wasn't trying to harm Neniwa. I didn't want to be alone in this place by myself. Mostly because I was considering suicide before coming here. I was concern about the thoughts coming back and having no help around me. I doubt your leader would like to see one of his servants doing stupid things. This is mainly the way I’ve been understanding this world so far. Can you also please place the Neniwa somewhere more stable. His wounds need tended to. I'm also respectfully asking you for bandages. If there is none I can wash and use my old clothes.”

Elsa watched him while still playing. The piano was second nature to her, her fingers moving of their own accord so that she did not have to concentrate overmuch.
"From what I have always read the Fae are playful but cruel," she replied. "But humans can be far crueler to each other," she added, the frost coming back to her voice for a moment. Her fingers stilled, the music trailing off. Her eyes held a far away look.

"You're a bad little girl Ellie. God says you have to obey to your parents. Obey Daddy or you will be punished."
"You're not my daddy! Let go!"
"Such a bad little girl. Bad little girls are punished by God."

"Do you think this is punishment?" Elsa asked in a small, scared voice. "Do you think God has forsaken us? Left us to be tortured and devoured by these creatures? Is this what Hell is?"

Had she been such a terrible person? Was God really this vengeful? This heartless? Was there even a God at all? Or was that another lie from arcane times made to scare people into doing as they were told?

For the first time in a very long time, tears pricked at the corners of Elsa's eyes. They pooled, shimmering in the light before falling down her cheeks like liquid diamonds. The ice around her heart cracked, making her clutch at her chest at the pain of it.
The unknown was the most terrifying thing of all. She knew what to expect from the monsters she had grown up with. These monsters were strange and unknown.

Could one request death from the Fae? If she asked, would the King grant her relief?

Elsa cradled her head in her hands. She had battled dark thoughts her whole life but never to this degree. Logic forced its way up through the mire, struggling to reach the surface. Was something going on here? Someone, or something, digging up the darkness and amplifying it?

Thymund would close the door gently behind him. After the door would close there would be a brief moment of silence. The silence would be followed with a slight commotion that sounded similar to a frantic individual moving about the room knocking over several things. After the sound of breaking glass, a very muffled although stressed screech would be heard from within the room. The screech would be cut off with a loud cracking noise that was similar to that of splitting wood… although there was something off about it.

Three minutes after the scream was silenced, Thymund would open the door and walk out, leaving the door open behind him. The previously revealed hidden passage was once again hidden behind a bookshelf and the floor was spotless… There was no trace of the corpses- or rather the corpse he had left. The scent of blood was still fresh within the room to those who could taste it within the crowd. Thymund, however, was absent of any such stench.

“Would you please follow me?” Thymund would say as he looked at Erin, awaiting for her to respond instead of mindlessly droning away. He held a smile on his face, as though he was ready to escort her as a knight would a lady. He almost seemed to ignore the crowd around them.

-Location: Under the Mountain/ Lower Quarter-

The remaining bits of Fae that had gathered about the door, curious as to why the famed- or infamous- Thymond was here. As soon as the commotion was heard however several of those less keen on bravery, or perhaps those being far more clever than the rest, slinked off. Those that remained heard the sounds from within and drew back a healthy distance lest they cause affront to the survivor of whatever would cause that scuffle. As Thymond came out most of the crowd would move off a few scavengers waiting til he was with the human wench before moving in on the shop- and what remained inside. Erin would notice all of this as well as a red headed man with a gleaming brass eye. A man who was of rough features and rounded ears with only the slightest points. But it was a mere glimpse before he slipped through the crowd and deeper into the Lower Quarter.

-Location: Court of Nightmares/Servant Quarters-

Several mortals slipped into the bathing chamber only to quickly back out. Not wanting to involve themselves with the dreaded Yin. The kitsune had a slight reputation. One that was perhaps not the best among the those that served Under The Mountain. But they were knocked aside as Clarice stormed from her room wearing a deep green gown that showed off much of her figure and accented her damp hair. Storming into the common room, she was soon surrounded by the group of fluttering women who had helped Elsa earlier. Whispering and giggling amongst themselves. Til one spoke up loudly- enough that it echoed back through the open door into the hall- easy for a kitsune to hear. "Oh my! Clarice, you will not believe it! But a new catch from the Collector has a dress just like your red one!" "The one you got from Lord Darcyn." Chimed in another. Hisses of disgust at someone doing such a thing, nevermind that they had suggested she wear it and had 'given' it to Elsa, rang throughout the group as heads turned to glare at the newcomers. Clarice looked stunned for a mere second, before a mask of rage claimed her pretty features.

"That is no copy! It bears his crest! You little thief!" Came the damning cry of outrage.

-Location: Falk's Hall-

Falk sat back in a large armchair, the one with the arm intact. The other he did not even seem to consider as a possible seat. Giving a stern stare at the human woman, his eyes flared that fearsome green. The ghost of a storm coming. The map she had been staring at flared and vanished. Leaving only the parchment version of it's former glory. Rolling itself up, the bit of paper flowed away upon a phantom wind to it's original spot. Leaving that proud and stern face upon the human female, Falk crossed one leg over the other at the knee. "You fail to notice my lack of such loneliness or despair. I do not know either for they are mortal feelings and something foreign to the Fae. Or at least the former is." He drummed his fingers upon the arm, his mind far ahead while he lectured the girl exactly as he had another. "Only the weak despair amongst the Fae. As for Yggdrasil. He is an apt partner of our alliance." Falk's voice was cool and chilled, but not unkind. She was not expected to know this, but it was clearly not his favored topic.

Erin Céleste

Erin watched the crowd as the crowd watched her back, the group still glancing at her even though she'd moved a good distance from the door. None of them said anything loud enough for her to hear, but their curiosity about the whole situation was obvious from the way they were acting. To be Honest Erin was curious what was going on too, as suddenly a loud commotion was heard from the other side of the door. Glass breaking, and a scream? Erin shook her head, dismissing the scene from her mind. She didn't care what was going on, not much anyway.

She looked back at the crowd as she noticed that it had shrunk, smiling to herself as she thought. No matter where you are, people are people. Nosey and only willing to butt out once they realize they might get hurt. The smile faded as the door opened and Thymond appeared, the man beginning to walk towards her as soon as she saw where she was standing. I'm not all that different really, I just didn't stop nosing when I probably should have.

“Would you please follow me?” Thymond asked her as he stopped next to her, a polite smile plastered over his features. "Te esperé, ¿verdad? I will." In Spanish her tone was sarcastic, but the English was polite. She didn't think this one knew Spanish, so she considered it a little bit of a test. If he only picked up on the tone and not the words, she'd know for sure. She moved away from the wall she'd been leaning on as she waited for him to take the lead, noticing out of the corner of her eye someone in the crowd. She had no idea why this one guy stood out to her as he quickly turned and disappeared into the crowd, but he was certainly a more memorable face than the rest of those in the crowd with that eye of his, so maybe that was all it was. She dismissed him just as quickly as she'd noticed him, as she turned back to face Thymond. "Well? Where are we going?"

Thymund White

“Do you enjoy speaking so strangely?” He did not seem to have understood her, however his face did not change to react to the sarcasm. Thymund would begin to walk down one of the paths as he started through the crowd. He would briefly look back to make sure he was being followed by Erin. “I apologize for having to be so impolite when we first met. There are several Fe-..People that I simply cannot show kindness too.” Thymund was not heading the way she had come, in fact he was heading deeper into the heart of this strange place.

Thymund would make his way down the path speaking to no other being aside from Erin. Every now and then he would stop to allow the path before them to clear. He was not rude, however it seemed that most of the beings here held a strange and mysterious respect for Thymund. He did not attempt to speak overmuch, however he was no silent overlord demanding blind obedience. He was someone was well aware of human cultures and language. His English had an accent, although strange, present from somewhere in the world.

"We are going to get the answers you seek. You will be reunited with a familiar Kitsune-...Fox man? I believe that is what most humans call it-him... Assuming that Yin currently has a gender." Thymund spoke as though he knew Erin, and was comfortable conversing with her. He treated her like a person, and not like some strange object or pet. “We cannot return the way we came from sadly, as I have been spotted thanks to your little adventure. We will be taking the safe way back. As for where we are going exactly, I will not say.” He frowned slightly as he spoke the last line, seeming slightly displeased with the fact he could not tell her.

Elsa pulled her head from her hands in time to hear the accusation. In shock, she stared at the maids, seeing their triumphant faces. Everything clicked into place with horrific clarity.
She had been set up.

"I..." she stammered for a moment, her voice cracking before she tried again. "I wasn't made aware this was yours," she tried to explain calmly. "It was presented to me. I have not left this area. I don't know where your rooms are nor could I have gotten access to them."

She prayed the woman was at least a little reasonable. If anyone thought about it at all they would see the logic flaw here. Elsa was a human slave. How would she have known or even had access to the Lady's clothing, especially something as fine as this?

"I am not suicidal enough to steal from a Lady," she continued. "I will gladly change, wash the garment and return it to you. And in the future I will not take anything that is offered to me by those who would cause trouble."

-Location: Under the Mountain/ Lower Quarter-

As Thymund moved deeper through the cavernous bowels of the city. The once distant roars of the creatures kept in the mud mazes, fighting pits, and cages. Jormungars- the large worms of the earth that dwelled with the Ruined Lands and the Mountains. They were wild creatures used for the Fae's amusement though that was all. Any other way they were a nuscience. Something best destroyed. Dire wolves, great lizards, cats, and stags were stabled in different wings of the bottom 'floor' of the cavernous city. Their yowls, roars and calls echoing out. Soldiers, mercenaries, and the more militant of the Fae life were scattered all over the place. The splattering of multiple mix of armor style was uniformed by the Styggian Company. Something Thymund would know as the private army Under the Mountain. The terror of the Night Court.

And they watched the Fae man. Not directly but out of the corner of their eyes. The sense of warriors after years of honing, and they knew Thymund was threat. From the way he moved, from the whispers they heard about him. Erin was being quiet as the Fae steered her along. Through the pits and towards the doors leading from the prisons- the dungeons- out to the execution. Nearing the door Thymund might note a man. Knee high boots that stepped silently, and leather pants made women swoon. A black dress shirt was open to the top of his waist. Showing off pale skin twinged with grey. Black hair fell about his form in feathery waves. "Thymund..." The voice was a velvet purr, a deeper tone echoing in it. "Brother, you have a snack." Nathaniel Darkwing looked bemused at Erin as the door guard stepped forward as well after a moment of hesitation.

-Location: Court of Nightmares/Servant Quarters-

"Lady...?" Clarice looked bemused, but changed into a smug smile. What a delightful catch! This one referred to her as a Lady! As if she wasn't a lowly servant like the rest of the humans here. That was something she could use! Having heard the music coming from this room earlier, she smiled sweetly. Taking her time to walk forward slowly and lean in to talk softly to Elsa. "Oh, you'll wash and return it. Then you're going to work for me. On top of whatever the Fae as you to do." Clarice grinned, this new catch would learn the rules here. There were rules for Fae, then rules for mortals. And she knew exactly how to manipulate this girl to get her work done and then Clarice would have more time to get into the bed of one of the 'Lieutenants'. The Fox and Hound as most of the human servants called them. "Now you're going to go and get out of my dress. Then we are going to teach you how to work the Fae." Clarice gave Elsa a sweet smile. "For my benefit." She smirked, swishing back to her little group as they laughed and giggled among themselves. Elsa may note, however, a elderly woman watching from where she was scrawling in a leather bound book.

Yin smiled as the human twitched and very clearly did not want to look down. This was highly entertaining. After all, how often did he get to mess with humans this severely merely by standing there? ”Problem?” Aimed strictly at Noah as he seemed to be ignoring Vae for the moment.

Once he felt like it he looked at her and shrugged. ”Perhaps I shall take you both somewhere to get bandaged up. You both seem quite….attached” A small smile and then he froze ears swiveling.

”Actually there seems to be a problem. One moment” He removed himself from the water forgoing cloths for now, his tails making an appearance as he walked into the entry way to witness the chaos unfolding. ”My my….if you had wanted me so badly you could have just asked instead of starting a squabble”

Yusuke~Artisuo

Yusuke watched the mess unfolding with a bit of confusion. Had this woman really fallen for this? He shook his head and slowly stood. [color=pink]”She is not a thief. She was set up….”[/color} what he wanted to add was do not be so daft, but he refrained.

”I do not understand why you are so upset. She did not know and now she does….” Then he was interrupted by the entrance of the fox. His mouth shut and he slowly sat back down.

Noah Griffin

Noah felt paralyzed by the Fox’s gaze. His skin pricked and goosebumped, unsettled by the demon’s golden eyes sizing him up. Like a piece of meat. The lips curled into a wicked grin causing Noah’s stomach to flip in place and whatever meager meal he held, curdling. He didn’t answer when the Fox questioned him. Instead, the human just kept his eyes straight as Vae tried to draw Yin’s attention on herself. It wasn’t really working. That much Noah could easily see for himself while he frantically tried to figure out a way out of this situation.

He want to say something but stopped when Yin’s ears swiveled. They seemed to catch something causing the fae to request a moment. Noah let out a breath of relief when he spotted the Fox lift up and out of the pool, his naked figure disappeared into the corridor. Vae, by this time, seemed to have vanished to find him some towels or clothes likely.

His knees felt wobbly as he struggled to remain upstanding. Slowly, he lowered himself into the deepest part of the water to bath. Despite his gut instinct screaming for him to wash and leave, he needed to decompress from the heart-racing experience. Hopefully, nothing else decided to toy with him until he was done.

Elsa fought to keep her cool detached expression. Flattery always worked wonders on the arrogant. Well, she was in it now and she could see no way out. She would have to work for this woman for the time being. What a bother.

"Fine. But I would watch the women in your group. They are not trustworthy. If they had no qualms about fooling me I doubt they will hesitate to do the same to you should the opportunity present itself."

When the guy she had been speaking to, Yusuke, spoke up in her defense she laid a gentle hand on his shoulder. "Thank you for the attempt, but I don't think it will do much good. I was stupid to assume anything here. I will deal with the consequences."

A fae entered, the fox who had led them here. Did he know what had happened here? Was there anything he could do about it? Did he care enough? Probably not.
On the bright side, if she was killed on sight by the ruler of this place she would not be in forced servitude to the diva. She toyed with the thought of asking him if it was possible to request death but refrained, not certain if he would get or appreciate the sarcasm.
How should she address him? Lord? Sir? Your Grace? She decided on what sounded most respectful.
"Excuse me Lord Fox. My name is Elsa. It seems I was given that lady's dress by mistake. Is there anything I can wear so I may return her garment to her?"

Of course it hadn't been a mistake, but a calculated effort to get her killed. But there was no point in bringing that up. The truth would eventually find its way to the light. In the meantime she needed to be respectful to everyone she met from here on out and keep out of trouble as much as possible.

Elsa's eyes caught sight of something unusual : an elderly woman who seemed to be taking notes. Perfect. Now she could be reported as a thief before ever meeting the ruler.
Death was beginning to look more and more like a possibility.
