Welcome to the Valentine’s 2018 Contest! It’s not guaranteed to make your heart beat faster or give you nonexistent diabetes, but it’s certainly a delicate day. The Valentine’s 2018 Contest is a simple free writing contest that has only one thematic requirement- it must be Valentine’s themed.

What you think when you hear “Valentine’s” is entirely subjective. Chocolate is usually a common thing to come up with, but so is melancholy or simple happiness.

As this is a seasonal contest, all submissions will not be compared with each other and will each receive 2 Credits, though it may amp up to 3 Credits if at least 10 people participate.

What does your character consider to be the worst thing he/she has ever done? Be the tone funny, angsty, or anything else, write us all a story about it, as long or short as you please.

This is pretty open-ended for a reason: I like creativity, so don't be afraid.

Remember, your first submission will be the only submission counted towards Credit Review, regardless of whether it is Art or Writing.

Art Submissions cannot win the Favorite/Honorary Snack Awards, as they're guaranteed an extra Credit anyway.

Keep the above in mind depending on what side of the contest you're shooting for. And obviously, your entry must also be related to a Halloween theme in some way.

My suggestion for your submission is to make your story capable of letting all readers follow along. It often helps not only the reviewing process work a bit more to your favor, but also let others understand it better. It's weird to get a treat you can't understand, after all.
