"Dangerous. Brilliant. Able to adapt. These are all qualities you have demonstrated to us. We have selected you for an advanced Global Anti-Terrorism force. It was no small feat to even qualify for this opportunity. All your training, all your hard work and long nights has paid off. But the hard part has only just begun. And if you can't recognize this, then you might as well leave. You may think this is cause for celebration. You may think that you've made a great accomplishment. But you've barely scratched the surface."

"The team, rumored to be named Rainbow, is made up of several elite soldiers who have special abilities that allow them to adapt to any situation that may present itself."

"Rainbow was also previously a unit, however it went obsolete after a devastating incident occurred under the teams watch. The fact that anyone would bring such a thing back is baffling to me."

"This team is a great idea. Even though one incident occured after team Rainbow prevented many more, they were still effective and prevented disaster more times than I can remember."

"To be honest, we cannot predict what this team might mean for the world. It could be a menace or a gift. We'll just have to rely on the team's effectiveness."

"Rainbow, reporting for duty."

The world is in a dangerous time. With civil wars and revolutions bubbling to the surface, many terrorist groups have risen from the shadows. They all have different goals, but share a common enemy: The modern world. Militaries around the globe have come together, selecting special ops recruits that are the best of the best to fight off this invasion. They call the team: Rainbow. Each one has a special ability that allows them to assist their teammates or decimate their foes. However, even with that basic knowledge, everyone is asking one question: Who is on this special team?

Rules:
1. Respect my authority.
2. No arguments in OOC.
3. Respect any Co-GM's authority.
4. No godmodding.
5. No injuring or killing another person's character without permission.
6. Have fun!
7. Place all Character Sheets in the OOC tab before being accepted.

Oooooh, I love me some Rainbow Six!

Question! During what timeline would this take place? I'm going to assume Siege since it's the most popular one and you make mention of a "special skill" akin to operator abilities. R6:Siege is speculated to take place before The Division, which took place in 2018. Ghost Recon Wildlands took place in 2019, whereas GR: Future Soldier took place in 2024.

It's kinda important to know what sort of tech we'll be using~

I'm thinking modern, just after the team went obsolete, which let's say would be in...2020, after a failed mission. So, maybe some small tech advancements have been made. @Cleverbird

I'll make a character, I was thinking I'd make a Russian, a KGB agent most likely with a grenadier skill. I'll have him posted up sometime tonight.

I'm definitely not going to score brownie point here by being THAT guy... Especially since I'm not the GM... But!

@DefaultWhy would you not use roller mines instead? Placed mines of such a variety seem rather useless in my opinion. If you have the opportunity to have bad guys step on mines that disable their weapons, why not just use the element of surprise to just shoot them? Leaves them with less opportunity to shout for help... Disabling weapons sounds like a more offensive than defensive ability.

@DustyFirst up, the AK-74 fires 5.45mm rounds, not 7.62mm (its the previous variant, the AK-47 that fires 7.62mm). Secondly, the M203 grenade launcher wouldn't fit on an AK model. What you're looking for are the GP-25, GP-30 or GP-34 models. Not only that, but wouldnt you say an AK-74 is a little outdated by 2020? Why not pick the more modern AK12? Historically it's slated to replace all AK of the 5.45mm rifles in service. It's also vastly more modular, allowing for more customization.

Apologies, I just enjoy discussing this topic a little too much haha.

Both accepted. Next time Winter, please place your CS in the OOC. I didn't mention it in the rules, so I understand.

@Cleverbird
I never said he was defensive or offensive. Also, the abilities have to have some limits, because frankly I don't want to play someone who can easily eliminate anyone. Hence why I didn't choose something that honed in on enemies. It'd simply be too easy for the person using it.

P.S.: I realize after reading this it may sound hostile, but don't worry, it's not.

P.P.S.: Also, I liked the idea of Jacque placing his mines in entryways and windows so he could know where it was coming from.

@DefaultHaha it's fine, I didn't interpret it as such :P

Also, I figured the team could use a bit more firepower. The drone isnt meant to instantly kill everything in sight, of course, it's too inaccurate for that. It's a force multiplier (read: pouring a lot of lead downrange) to keep the enemy pinned down, and act as mobile cover.

I just prefer it because they can’t fight back fully. And I think I’m gonna stick with it.

@Cleverbird thanks for the pointers. As you could probably guess I am not very familiar with Russian arms, and I made the assumption all AK style weapons fired 7.62. I’ll make the edits to clear things up.

Ok, so I know I may seem a bit eager, but I'm just really excited. I'm gonna make an introduction post for my character, and you guys can as well only after I have approved your character. I'm gonna wait until everyone makes an intro post to go further.

Also, @Cleverbird, are you going to make a character? I just want to know.
