While still watching the sky, they heard the door open and saw Tatianna coming in.


Kaito: Whoa, is that Tiane?! Is she coming back for reals?!

Lucent: I... don't know...

Kaito: Oh yeah, you're a little scared of her. Better saying, except for me and Reeta, you don't speak with anyone, not even with the kids.

Lucent: I know that. It's just that... Rayla's a little too impulsive and her fame around the neighborhood frightens me while Tatianna just... frightens me in general.

Kaito: You really want to be their friend as well, don't you?

Lucent: I've been comfortable alone, but since you and Reeta won't let me stay at my room again...

Kaito: You bet I won't! I wouldn't be a good friend if I did let you!

Lucent: ...

Kaito: Now let's get back inside. It's almost time for dinner.

Lucent: W-Wait, can't I wait to eat alone later? Or at least-

Kaito: No, you can't.

Lucent: Then maybe we could eat at a different place. Like, we can get our plates and-
Kaito: Why do you want that much distance from the rest?

Lucent: I know it's my own fault but I don't want people to be staring at me. It makes me uncomfortable.

Kaito: Good to know that you brought this upon yourself, because the first step for you to grow up socially is to leave your comfort zone. We're eating with the others.

Lucent: ... Alright, but I'm not sitting near them. I want the farthest end, mostly away from the rest.

Kaito: Lucent, you know that I can't let you do that.

Lucent: Just this once. Please.

Kaito knew this was going to be difficult. Lucent wouldn't just stop being a loner from one day to another, but he wouldn't have expected too many obligations. It made him wonder how it was going to be at school.


Kaito: ... Alright, alright. As long as you don't run back to your room, I'm fine with it.

Lucent: Good, that makes me feel calmer. (At least one condition fell in.)

Kaito: But only today! Tomorrow onwards, we're all eating together, got it?

Lucent: Huh?! H-Hold it, just today is not enough!

Kaito: It's going to be only for today and that's final! Now let's go and say hi to them! *grabs Lucent's arm*

Lucent: Kaito, wait! I'm not comfortable with this! Listen to me!

However, Kaito ignored him and pulled Lucent with him to the inside. He wanted to help his friend, even if he had to lie a little.

Amara: Huh? Dear me, it's Tatianna.

Tiane: Hi~!

Amara: I thought you didn't want to see the others. Why you came here at this hour?

Tiane: I'm going to stay here with you all for a while.

Amara: Really? That's great. It might not look like it, but some of us missed you dearly.

Tiane: I know...I'm sorry...I might do it again though...You know why it is.

Amara: Is that so? In that case, I must cherish you as much as I can before you leave again.

Tiane: ...Again...I'm sorry...I'm grateful that you've raised me...But I'm not really doing a good job of showing it...

Amara: We'll talk about that at a later time. Now then, go watch that pot for me. I'm going to prepare the vegetables.

Tiane: Okay~!

Rayla: I've noticed that Lucent is back...That's a relief.

Reeta: Wait, how do you know that?

Rayla: Oh yeah, I haven't told you this before...He has some kind of energy.

Reeta: R-Really? (Oh crap, she's suspecting him.)

Rayla: Let's hope this escapade wasn't related to this energy.

Reeta: I-I'm sure it will be fine. Lucent is just shy, he would never do anything to harm someone, I'm sure of it. Word of someone who has been in the orphanage longer than you.

Rayla: Let's hope that's the case. (She knows something...But I don't think this is a good time to bring it up, I better do this as soon as possible...What might happen next might not be pretty...)

Reeta: (Oh boy...What should I do? Should I tell...)

Reeta: (No, I'm going to protect Lucent's secret...Even if it means...revealing my own secret...)

Reeta: (If she ever confronts him about his power...No one knows how he would react...and he might...I won't let it happen, ever!)

Kaito and Lucent went into the dining hall and saw Rayla and Reeta chatting. Even though he tried to go back towards his room, Lucent was unable to since Kaito held his arm tightly and pulled him along.


Kaito: Oh, so you're back, Rayla! Good evening!

Lucent: ...!!

Kaito: And here's Lucent, safe and sound. Turns out that he passed out after not eating for two or three days and we couldn't hear him falling on the ground since his room is far away from ours.

Kaito: But now he's fine and ready for school tomorrow! Right, Lucent?

BGM: Song of the Ancients -Popola/Instrumental- (NieR: Automata)

He wasn't going to reply. However, he did say to Kaito and to Reeta that he would try to socialize a bit more. Lucent gave a quick reply to what he said, but was already planning to go back towards his room.


Lucent: Y-Yeah...

Kaito: He won't skip classes anymore. If he does, I'll make sure to bring him in any way possible.(He responded! Whew...)

Lucent: (This was a bad idea...) I... forgot something at my room... I'll go and fetch it...

In the moment he tried to step back, Kaito stood behind him, in order to not let him escape from the living room.


Kaito: And what is it? I'll pick it up for you. (You're not running away from this.)

Lucent: ... Forget it. I don't... need it anymore.

Kaito: Really? Well then, let's chat a little before going to the dining hall.

Lucent: ...

Kaito: ...? What's wrong?

Lucent: ... I... I'm sorry.

He went towards the dining hall with quick steps. Talking with both of them was something, but he wasn't ready to even talk with Rayla yet. Kaito sighed and decided to explain the situation, since he trusted her.


Kaito: And we can mark a failure on this first attempt. I thought it was going to be hard, but still...

Kaito: Sorry, Rayla. We're trying to make Lucent open up a bit. After a chat we had once we got back home, he said he'd try to socialize more. I thought it'd be a good start to talk with you, but it seems he's still scared. Don't take it personal, though.

Location: Intermezzo Manor - Dining Hall

BGM: Beneath the Mask -Instrumental- (Persona 5)

The dinner time at the Intermezzo family was always full. This is because they implied that all workers were to eat alongside the family, so the table was full of people chatting happily.


Auror: Hmmm! Delish!

Veronica: It's really tasty! Thanks for the food everyone!

Since they were the first ones to finish, Auror and Veronica went and cleaned their plates and cutlery. After finishing it, they went back into the living hall. Veronica went towards one of the corridors, leading her to the rooms as Auror suddenly received a call. Once he picked up his phone, he knew who it was.

BGM: Troubled (Persona 3)


Auror: Good night. Just to warn you, the hunt was a success.
???: You should have called me to help you.

Auror: It was going to be quick, so I decided to do it alone.
???: You do realize we're a team, right?

Auror: I know, I know, but you're the one who said you'd be busy with the kids back at the orpahanage today.
???: I know that, but you also know that I need the reward. It's the only way for me to help this place to survive.

Auror: A noble goal yet a dirty way to acheive it... aren't we distorted, huh? Anyway, I'll pass the reward to you later. Tomorrow's hunt is ours. Don't get busy out of a sudden, got it?
???: I'll meet you there then. Good night, Auror.

Auror: Try not to raise too much suspicion under you. Unlike me, you don't have too much people to cover you, Maki.
Maki: How I conceal my identity isn't something you should worry about.

The person called Maki turned the call off. Auror looked at the moon and thought about his comrade.


Auror: (How long are you able to keep this up, eh? Once they discover, you're toast. Maki, Maki... you should really step off before it becomes dangerous...)

Auror: (You can find other ways to help them out. As for me... all is for the safety of Unitia.)

Auror followed Veronica as he went towards his room, exactly next to hers.

Ted's Home consisted of two halves, one was the Mamoru Seimei Mansion and the Yurei Seimei Tower. Both families can interact in the mansion but only the main family can stay in the tower.

Ted: Sis! I'm home!




Himika: Hi there Big Bro! You took a while. Did you perhaps get lost?

Ted: Sorry about that...I asked for Rayla's help but it ended with me taking a detour.

Himika: La-La huh? How is she doing? Haven't talked to her in ages.

Ted: She's doing okay. (At least that's what I think. She still looked upset when we parted ways.)

Himika: That's good to know...If I wasn't that busy, I would pay her a visit.

Ted: I bet she would be happy to see you.

Himika: Anyway, let me see that war fan.




Himika: Yep, I'm sure cousin Hina going to love this.

Ted: Why a war fan anyway?

Himika: Why not? I bet that if we introduce her to that store, she'll fawn over all the items in display.

Ted: I doubt that...Isn't she like, super quiet? (That's what I've heard anyway.)

Himika: Let me rephrase that then...She would fawn over in her own way.

Ted: Heh...

Himika: Anyway, you got here just in time, dinner's ready.

Ted: Nice! By the way, is the library locked right now?

Himika: I'm not sure...why?

Ted: I have to research about a place called Kingdom of Arcadia.

Himika: What's that? Some place in the Mediva Country?

Ted: That was my guess as well...But I still have my doubts.

Himika: Seems serious enough. I'll ask one of the servants to keep the door unlocked.

Ted: Great! Now let's eat, I'm starving.

Himika: Same here! Next stop: DINNER!!!

Rayla: It's okay...He must have his reasons. Good luck in your task then.

Reeta: ...

Suddenly, they hear Tatianna announcing that dinner is ready.


Rayla: That's our cue.

Glory Star Orphanage - Dining Room

Amara: Now now kids, you know there's enough for everyone.

Tiane: Wait for your turn! Today's food is really worth the wait.

Rayla: I'm sure it is.

Moments later, everyone had food on their plates.


Reeta: Hopefully, you didn't lose your edge Tatianna.

Tiane: On the contrary. I was crowned as the best soup maker of Spring Zone.

Hiagor: Wait, who gave you that title again?

Tiane: Homeless People.

Rayla and Reeta: What?

Tiane: You see, once a month, our Boss would invite a bunch of homeless to the hangout spot and the whole gang would distribute soup for them to eat.

Reeta: Okay?

Tiane: What are you so surprised? I believe I told you we aren't the kind of gang that causes trouble...Well, some of them are rather impusive, the boss even has to scold them once in a while, but we are really a group that wants to enjoy life.

Reeta: That's seriously hard to believe.
Little Girl: Wow! Your boss is really a kind guy.

Tiane: I know right? He's the best.

Reeta: Guys...don't listen to Tatianna...Her idea of living life to the fullest is skipping school.

Tiane: Hey! I'm just telling a story...It's not like I want them following my example...

Amara: Who's this gentleman by the way? I believe we haven't been introduced yet.

Hiagor: I'm Private Detective Hiagor. I got to say, It's been a while since I've tasted home cooking...and it is as good as I remember.

Amara: Pleased to me-
Little Boy: Wow! A Private Detective? Like that Holmes guy?

Hiagor: I'm afraid that's too high of a bar for me to jump over.
Little Girl: Do you solve a lot of mysteries?

Hiagor: I investigate cases, yes.
Little Boy: Then, can you find my toy car? I've searching for it everywhere but didn't find it.

Hiagor: I can try.

Amara: Hey, Don't bother him with such requests. I already told you to keep your toys once you're done playing with them.

Hiagor: Hehehe... (So these are the people that Rayla interacts with everyday.)

Rayla: ...

Hiagor: Anyway, I've come here to know Miss Rayla a little better.

Amara: I see, what for exactly?

Hiagor: Database purposes. She's such an influential figure in Spring Zone, yet I know so little about her.

Amara: Is that so? What do you think Rayla?

Rayla: I don't really mind. Let him investigate as much as he want.

Reeta: (Hopefully, he focuses entirely on Rayla...)

Despite her initial suspicions, Reeta ends up enjoying the food Tiane made. Rayla herself was impressed as well, but decided not to say a word, despite the happy and warm atmosphere, her mood was still somewhat bad.

The warm moment was a nice thing to have in a day's end. Kaito was sitting near the others, while Lucent was at the table's end as they had agreed before.


Kaito: Hmm! The food's really tasty, Tiane! Those guys weren't lying about you being the best!

Lucent: (I... have to admit, she cooks really well.)

As everyone was enjoying their food, a cracking sound was heard. When everyone looked, one of the kids tripped and dropped his plate. However, it wasn't accidental.


???: M-My plate!
Boy: Haha! Nerdy fell down and dropped his plate!

???: You put your feet just so I could fall!
Boy: What? I didn't do it! It's not my fault you're so clumsy!

???: I-I'm not clumsy! You're the one who...
Lucent: ... Here.

When they looked, Lucent put his plate in the spot where the boy was going to sit.


Lucent: It's really tasty. Enjoy it.

???: T-Thanks...

Lucent: And you.
Boy: W-What?!

After giving the other boy a stare, Lucent went towards the door, exiting the dining hall. Kaito, however, stopped him before he could leave, worried about how Lucent haven't been eating.


Kaito: Wait, won't you eat?!

Lucent: I... lost my appetite.

Kaito: Hold on, you haven't eat for two or three days! You can't just leave without-

Lucent: ... That isn't important. I'm going back to my room. Good night.

Releasing himself from the grip, he left the dining hall and went towards his room. Before he could leave, he felt someone holding his cape.

BGM: Twink's Theme (Paper Mario)


???: E-Excuse me!

Lucent: Hmm?

???: I... wanted to thank you for the food and... and say that we can share it!

Lucent: It's fine. I'm... not hungry.

???: But Big Bro Kaito said you haven't eaten for three days. Will you... be okay?

Lucent: ... I will.

???: OK... Hey, can I ask you something? If you have time, can we play together tomorrow?

That was a surprising thing for Lucent. He never expected one of the kids to call him to play. Generally they would ask the other "brothers" and "sisters" to do it, though it seems this certain one was interested on playing with him and not with the others.


Lucent: You want to... play with me?

???: Yes. I mean, everyone says that you're kinda scary, but I think you're really cool.

Lucent: Umm... I think... maybe I could...

???: Nice! Thanks, Big Bro Lucent! Oh, by the way, I'm...

Kiragi: Oh, I have to eat the food before it gets cold! See you tomorrow, Big Bro Lucent!

Lucent: Ah... uh, see you...?

Kiragi went back to the dining hall so he could eat while leaving a surprised Lucent on the living room. He wouldn't expect any of the kids coming close to him, less treating him like a "brother".


Lucent: Huh... "Big Bro Lucent". I never thought someone would call me like that. Then again, I would never guess he would call me to play with him when the others are around.

Lucent: He called me cool... why do I... feel like smiling out of a sudden?

Reeta: Hihihi~! We're off to a good start.

Tiane: Guess I'm going to have to clean that up...

Granny: Would be nice if you did.

Then, Lady Amara glares at the boy who made Kiragi trip.


Granny: We're going to have some talk after this little boy.

Hiagor: Well, I guess I have seen enough.

Hiagor finishes his plate, then gets up.


Hiagor: I thank you all for having me tonight.
Little Girl: Are we going to see you again Mr. Detective?

Hiagor: Who knows? I might still have business in this place.

Rayla: Don't let the door hit you on your way out.

Hiagor: That would be the door's funeral then.

He gets up, then leaves the orphanage. Rayla also finishes her plate, then heads for the living room, but before saying Good Night to everyone.


Rayla: (Maybe I'll be in a better mood tomorrow...)

Unlike everyone else in the orphanage, Rayla sleeps on the ground, as she feels like she shouldn't be taking the space of the people who were at the orphanage way before her. Soon, she falls asleep.


Tiane: (And here me thinking she was using my room...)

Tatianna looks at the rooftop.


Tiane: (You really should care more...about this city...Do more than just help those around you...)

Tiane: (I would probably join if that was the case.)

Seimei Family Mansion - Dining Area

Music: Kurain Village

As the members and some of the servants of the branching family were having dinner, suddenly, a member of the main family showed up. Everyone at the table suddenly stopped an bowed to him.


Himika: (It's Uncle Taira...)

Taira Yurei Seimei: Good evening. I hope that you're all enjoying the night.
Servant: Yes sir.

Taira: So, I've come here to inform that the trainning of the future head of the family will be finished when summer begins.

Ted: Really? That's great!

Taira: Yes. As you know, she's reaching the final stages of her trainning. We from the Main family are trying our best to keep the influence of her Spiritual Aura as supressed as possible...Granted, we didn't expect it to be this strong.

Himika: Really? I thought it was a normal thing.

Taira: On the contrary...Hinamori might be the strongest member to have ever existed in our family...Which is why I really need to reinforce the fact that you should NOT, under ANY circumstances, let her trainning be interrupted.

Himika: (Meaning...more work for me...Not that I'm complaining since it's for Cousin Hina's sake...but I kinda want to rest once in a while.)

Ted: Are you guys really sure you don't need my help?

Taira: Your sleep has already been affected enough by the influence of spirits...we can't run the risk of a non-blood member of the Seimei Family to get possessed by a random spirit now. The spirit might make use of your earth powers, we don't want that to happen.

Ted: I see...It's just...I feel like I'm not doing enough to help you guys.

Taira: Worry not, you'll be responsable for re-introducing her to society.

Ted: Say what?

Taira: You see...Hinamori is saddenedfrustrated that she never got to have friends...ever since childhood, we've been making sure she doesn't wander outside. So she's working hard in order to master her powers so that it doesn't affect the people she wants to make friends with. Being a member of the main family is not an easy task.

Ted: Was it like this for you as well uncle?

Taira: Yeah! However, since it was way before the Ancestor Families revealed themselves to the world, I didn't have any reasons to interact with the outside world. As you know, we were one of the families that didn't have some kind of outside business. We always lived in isolated.

Ted: I see.

Himika: Must have been a bore...

Taira: Not really. It's just that I'm used to the quietness. Anyway, Can I count on you to teach Hinamori about this world?

Ted: Do you even have to ask? I'll do it!

Taira: Good. That's the spirit my boy!
Servant: Master Himika, the library is still open for use.

Himika: Heard that bro?

Ted: Sure did. Now then, excuse me.

Ted started to leave the room.


Taira: What are you going to do there at a time like this?

Ted: Oh, I'm helping Rayla with something.

Taira: Her? But why? Are you sure you should be helping her?

Ted: Um...well...

Taira: That good for nothing woman is doing absolutely nothing to help the city...If anything, you're better off helping someone else. You should know that.

Ted: I know that...but even still, I feel like I should help her at least with this.

Taira: Fine then...You'll see that such help will change nothing.

Ted: My apologies...But I'll do it.

With that, Ted heads towards the library, regardless of the thoughts of his uncle. He would spend some time researching, then, would go
to sleep.


Taira: That boy is conflicted with something.

Himika: You can tell it too?

Taira: Seems like that the following days might be somewhat interesting.

Himika: You think so? (Bro did say he took a detour with Rayla...maybe it has something to do with that.)

Weather: Clear Sky

Location: Spring Zone - Hakurei Shrine

BGM: Tranquility (Persona 3)

The morning came and a new day begun. The sunlight going through the shrine's windows marked the time to wake up. Reimu was the first one awake, preparing breakfast, something she wasn't too much used too. Soon, Marina and Xaizor came downstairs.


Marina: Good morning, Miss Reimu.

Xaizor: ... Yaaaaawn... mornin'...

Reimu: Good morning, both of you. Sit down, breakfast's almost done.

Thanks to the time spent with Lumino in the past, Reimu learned some dishes different from what she used to do when she lived alone. Eggs, milk, bread with butter... a basic breakfast for the three of them.


Reimu: Here you go. *puts the plates on the table*

Marina: I thank for the food given to us today.

Xaizor: *chomp* *chomp* This is good.

Reimu: Once you guys finish, prepare your things and we'll head out to school.

Xaizor: What?! Again?! I don't want to! I want to train!

Reimu: Xaizor, haven't your father warned you to pay attention to your studies more?

Xaizor: *gulp* Y-Yes, ma'am...

Marina: The warning was properly given to him, that I can assure you.

Reimu: Marina, you're not that safe. I don't want you studying the entire day long inside the shrine.

Marina: Eh? You want me to go outside?! But this town is dangerous! If sometheing happens and I am unable to return back home, I-

Reimu: Calm down, nothing of the sort will happen. You know how to fight and defend yourself, right?

Marina: I-I do, but still...

Reimu: Look, I won't be able to stay all the time with you two. This is your expedition, not mine. If the need comes, you two have to fight it out.

Marina: ... Understood.

They continued to eat as Reimu went upstairs to get their bags since they haven't finished. The two brothers began to think about what would this expedition hold for them as experience. They had their own reasons, but they wanted to complete this with a success.

Location: Glory Star Orphanage

BGM: Feliciter (Puella Magi Madoka Magica Portable)

Kaito woke up and got out of his room. He stretched his arms and smiled at the sun. Even if that made him look stupid, it was something to relax him. Soon, some kids woke up and were already running. The orphanage never stood that quiet when everyone was awake.

Little Girl: Good morning, Big Bro Kaito!

Kaito: Good morning, kids! Don't forget, today story time's on me!
Little Boy: Yaaaay!! We're gonna have stories from Big Bro Kaito!!
Little Girl: Hey, hey, let's tell everyone! We have the best stories to hear today!

Kaito: Don't worry, guys. I, Kaito Momota, will tell you a really cool story today! After all...
Kids: You're the Luminary of the Stars, Kaito Momota!!

Kaito: Heheh! Now go on ahead. I'll join you for breakfast soon enough.

They nodded and ran towards the dining hall for breakfast. This brought a happiness to Kaito that he couldn't describe.


Lucent: The kids really like you.

Kaito: W-What the?! L-L-Lucent?!

Lucent: I'm not a ghost yet.

Kaito: Geez, warn me when you're coming up! You scared me, idiot!

Lucent: Oh? Are you scared of ghosts?

Kaito: O-Of course not! I-I can't be scared of what doesn't exists, right?!

Lucent: Well, whatever. (I'll take note of this for the next time I need to talk about horror stories.)

Kaito: Oh, now that I think about it, you're up early today! I usually need to go and wake you up.

Lucent: You want me to be more social, don't you? I'm trying.

Kaito: Now that's what I like to hear. Now c'mon, it's breakfast time. And you're not sitting on the back, you hear me?

Lucent: ... I don't have a choice, do I?

Kaito: No, you don't. Told ya, yesterday only.

Lucent: Let's... just go then.

Kaito nodded and both went towards the dining hall. There was no sign of Kiragi or the others yet.

Location: Intermezzo Mansion - Outside of Veronica's and Auror's Room

BGM: Ohayou Sayori! (Doki Doki Literature Club!)

The Intermezzo brothers, while being different, were very united. They woke up at the same time and greeted each other with a big smile.


Auror and Veronica: Good and pretty morning!! May the sun shine at us and give us the most spectacular day!!

They walked towards the the main hall, in direction of the dining hall. The maids and butlers passed by as they exchanged greetings.


Veronica: I feel bad about they organizing out school stuff... I mean, they're maids and butlers, but...

Auror: I know. It kinda annoys me as well. Yet they're the ones who insist that much on doing this, so we can't do much about it.

Veronica: You're right. Oh, but I'm so excited for today!

Auror: The day you wake up feeling down about it, I'll be surprised.

Veronica: That will never happen!

As they walked, Auror thought about the two outsiders. He was curious to know more about these two.


Auror: I might do some research at the school's library and when I get back home today.

Veronica: About what?

Auror: That Kingdom of Arcadia. It's so unknown... I'm not inclined to believe on those two.

She puts the lens on, being able to see more cleary. Then she looks at the clock and notices the time.


Tiane: The hell? That's too early!

Rayla: That's how we usually wake up around here and you know it, now get up.

Tiane: C'mon...I only slept for five hours...

Rayla: That's your problem, didn't Lady Amara teach you to...Oh wait...You spent a good chunk of your life with the Freelers Gang, you didn't learn anything from RESPONSIBLE ADULTS!!!

Tiane: Urgh...Is this how it is like to be living with you?

Rayla: No, I just deduced you wouldn't want to wake up early. Anyway, the others are waiting.

Instead of leaving through the door, Rayla leaves through the window instead.

As they passed through the room, some kids were playing together with some toys. One of them was Kiragi, who got up and went immediately towards the duo.


Kiragi: Big Bro Lucent! Good morning!

Lucent: Ah... good morning, Kiragi...

Kaito: Hey, little Kiragi! How's it going, buddy?

Kiragi: Good morning, Big Bro Kaito! I'm doing really good!

Kiragi: I heard is your day of telling stories. Is that right?

Kaito: That's right! Be sure not to miss it.

Kiragi: I won't! Big Bro Lucent, you'll come too, right?

Lucent: M-Me?

Kiragi: You can't...?

Lucent never went along with anyone, not even with close people like Kaito and Reeta. However, Kiragi seemed eager for him to come, as it it'd be funnier for him if his big brother was there. Kaito used this chance to press Lucent into socializing.


Lucent: K-Kiragi... I...

Kaito: I'm sure Big Bro Lucent here can open some space today, right?

Lucent: Umm... well, that is to say... I'm actually...

Kiragi: Pleeeease, Big Bro Lucent?

Kaito: You will come, won't you?

The puppy-eyes tactic. They looked at him, hopeful. While Kiragi was being sincere, Kaito jumped in just to make Lucent unable to refuse.

He went back to play with the toys. Lucent give a little smile, but that transformed into a scorn when Kaito approached him.


Kaito: Look at him happy. Isn't that a nice thing?

Lucent: ... Don't you worry. You'll pay for this.

They kept walking. Lucent was a little irritated at how fast Kaito wanted this to progress and at how his plan was working. The latter, while knowing now that he had a little ally to help him, knew that a consequence would come sooner or later.


Kaito: (Now that Kiragi decided to talk with Lucent and specifically to him, I might be able to do some great progress. Soon, he won't be that unsociable anymore!)

Kaito: (Though I guess I'm in trouble. He seems really mad... I'm not liking this one bit.)

After finishing breakfast, the three of the left the shrine and walked down the road to school. Reimu and Xaizor went calmly, but Marina was a little paranoid, worrying about being attacked by thugs.


Marina: Nothing from this side, nothing from the other side, no one seems to be following us, there is currently no one in our front that is seemingly dangerous, the rooftops-

Xaizor: AH, SHUT UP ALREADY!!

Marina: I-I am just checking our surroundings! A thug could come at any moment and attack us!

Xaizor: Reimu, are we there yet?! I'm going to go nuts if I hear Marina speaking like this once again!

Reimu: If you're going nuts, I'm going too since I have to listen to both of you complaining.

With a sharp scream, Marina leaped on Xaizor, frightened. That surprised both Auror and Veronica, who just met them.

While hiding her face, Xaizor just sighed.


Reimu: Are you two friends with them?

Reimu: The guardian of those two while they're here.

Xaizor: Marina, you can come down.

Marina: Forgive me for this embarassing blunder...

Auror: No biggie. It's normal for you to get paranoid like this, I guess. We're actually pretty early.

Veronica: The school gates aren't open yet, so we might just stay outside and chat!

Reimu: Well, if you four are going to the same place, I guess I can head back.

Marina: W-What?!

Reimu: Well, I hope you two have a good day at school.

Xaizor: Good luck on the return, Reimu.

Reimu: I don't need it, but thanks.

Reimu waved at them and went back.


Veronica: Shall we get going then?

Marina: O-OK, but first I need to check our surroundings...!

Auror: Is your sister THIS paranoid about somethings?

Xaizor: This isn't even the beginning of it, man. I'd live with your sister's food than mine's paranoia.

Then, Ted headed to the bus stop, waiting patiently for his ride.

Meanwhile, in order to shake off her sleepiness, Tiane decided to run at full sprint around the area in the entrance. It was one of
her trainning methoods.


Tiane: (Alright then Rayla, if waking up early is what you want for me, then it's what I'll freaking do. I'll use the extra time to super
train myself in order to beat you in our last decisive duel...)

Amara: Tiane, here's your bag.

Tiane: Huh? What for?

Amara: Why, for school of course silly.

Tiane: The WHAT?

Music: Comical World

Distracted by Amara's remark, Tiane ended up tripping and hitting a wall in the process.


Amara: My, My, did you forget to put you contacts?

Tiane: W-Why?

Amara: I mean...

Tiane: Not that...Why do I have to go to such a boring place anyway?

Tiane: If you didn't know already, this Compact Glaive gave me TONS of knowledge. Going to school now would be redundant.

Amara: Silly Tatianna...School isn't just about studying...It's to meet new faces, forge more links.

Tiane: (We call them confidants these days.)

Amara: And to have fun with your friends. I'm sure I've told you this before. Besides, if you're as knowledgable as you claim, then classes won't be as "boring" as you think they'll be. You'll actually able to understand everything and even reinforce what you already know.

Amara: Give it a try! I know you'll enjoy it this time.

Tiane: Fine...I'll do it...Maybe one time won't hurt...

Amara: Don't forget to ask where your class is.

Amara: I hope that you'll have a good time!

Since she still wanted to do some trainning, Tiane took her school bag and left running at full sprint, making sure she took the longest route.

The door opened and they came out. The sun was shining brilliantly.


Kaito: Hey, why don't you remove that cape? Aren't you feeling hot?

Lucent: No, I don't. I'm comfortable like this. It helps me whenever I want to hide my face.

Kaito: That's another reason for you to take that cape off.

Lucent: I'm not taking it off, don't insist.

Kaito: Alright then.

As they were ready to leave, they passed by Lady Amara and gave her the greetings.


Kaito: Good morning, Lady Amara!

Lucent: Ah. G-Good morning, Lady Amara.

Location: Spring Zone Streets

The four kept walking together. While Veronica tried to distract Marina from being paranoid, Auror pulled a conversation with Xaizor in order to see him spill all the necessary information about him and his sister.


Auror: That reminds me, you said yesterday about your home. I was curious since I haven't heard anything about it and then I decided to research about it, but I found nothing. Where exactly does your kingdom exist?

Xaizor: I don't know.

Auror: Wait, how come you don't know if you live there?

Xaizor: Never was a fan of history and geography, so I don't actually know where we are located in the world or anything 'bout its story. All that I know is that I live there with Marina and that's it.

Auror: Huh... well, that doesn't help at all.

Xaizor: *sigh* I hope we have P.E today. It's the only time I suppose I can train.

Auror: Do you like sports, Xaizor? Like soccer, basketball and those stuff?

Xaizor: Huh? No, I don't mean that kind of training. I mean, fighting.

Auror: I don't think our school has those sorts of things. There's a rule that abhors violence, even though what we have outside of it is pretty much chaotic.

Xaizor: Wait, so it's all sports? Damnit, then Kaito lied to me!

Auror: I'm pretty sure he just went with the flow whenever you decided to ask him about training sessions.

Behind them, Veronica was talking mainly about the school as well, as she was faithful that they were speaking the truth about their homeland.


Veronica: And we have lots of clubs! We have the art club, the music club, the cheerleader club...

Marina: I see... which of those are you participating, Veronica?

Veronica: The cheerleader squad! I'm also its captain. Do you want to enter it too?

Marina: No, no, thank you for the offer. I do believe I wish to enter the music club, though.

Veronica: Really? Which instrument do you like?

Marina: I have some preferences, but I do like playing the harp. I enjoy playing violins and the cello as well.

Veronica: Oh, that's so classy! Cool! One day, you'll play the harp for me, right?

Marina: I do not see why I could not. I am not a master at handling it, so please forgive me if the sound does not end up well.

Veronica: Yay! I always wanted to hear a harp player!

And so they kept walking. The school was rather close, but they wouldn't be able to enter it yet.

Tatianna was basically pakour-ing through Spring Zone, making sure to not lose her pace. Due to her newfound reflexes however, she was having an way easier time than she's used to.


Tiane: (Avoiding these obstacles now feels like child's play...It kinda takes the fun of it to be honest...)

Then, she lands on an alley and keeps running. When she leaves it however, she almost bumps into someone. Both parts ended up dodging each other. Tiane pulls the Compact Glaive out of reflex while the other person pulls a gun.


Tiane: Wow! Oh wait, it's you.




Mana: Hello there Tatianna! Seems like you're doing good.

Tiane: Kinda...

Mana: I heard from Miss Nancy that you wanted to stay with Lady Amara.

Tiane: Yeah...I feel like I owe them this much after visiting me at the Guild.

Mana: I see. Where are you going right now?

Tiane: It might be hard to believe...But I'm going to school.

Mana: Really? Aren't you...

Tiane: A delinquent, yes. Hopefully, it will be just a one time thing.

Mana: School huh? Must be nice...

Tiane: What?

Mana: Nothing! Anyway, not everyone can dodge like us, so be careful when running around. Besides, some other people might have the wrong idea.

Tiane: Fine...I'll go the normal boring way...

Mana: Hihihi!

Tatianna pockets the Compact Glaive while the gun dissapears from Mana's hand.


Tiane: (Oh yeah, it's that Warp Weapon System thing they told me about. If I didn't knew any better, I would say she's like Rayla.)

Mana: Are you sure you should be using and walking around with that?

Tiane: Didn't Nancy told you? Since my body is already adapted to the device, it won't affect me any further. As for the reason I choose to carry this around...does it even make a difference? Those guys are probably jumping in joy that their little toy can work on normal humans as well. It's not like they're going to miss this device when they can make better versions of this one based on the results.

Mana: You got a point...If anything, they'll most likely just go after more Psychic Users again.

Tiane: And there you have it.

Mana: Well then, I have to continue my patrol. I hope you have fun at school.

Tiane: Don't hope that...

Then, the girls take their separate ways.

???: W-What? Stop calling me that, come on...

Kaito: Well, I'm not lying. Many guys envy you. After all, so many girls fawning over you. How many letters do you receive on your locker?

???: Too much for me to count.

Kaito: And yet you don't refuse every single one, now do you?

???: I can't bring myself to say no to every single girl. I just go along with the flow and let them send me. I never answered a single one of them, though.

Kaito: Dude, that's kinda cruel. You can't leave them hanging like that.

???: I know, but I don't want to make them cry either. Wouldn't that be very rude of me?

Kaito: It's something that will end up happening, you wanting or not. Better to just say no if you're not interested.

The tall young man, after sighing, turned his attention to Lucent. As soon as he shifted his range of vision, Lucent stepped back and stood behind Kaito.


???: Oh, I didn't noticed you had a friend with you.

Lucent: ...

Kaito: This here is Lucent Vermillion from class 2-C. We actually live together at the orphanage.

???: Lucent... Vermillion?!

Lucent: Ah...! Y-Yes?!

The three of them went down the road together. Kaito began chatting with Lucent about things, while Masaru followed them silently. However, he was actually happy to have finally met Lucent in person. He had a task to fulfill after all.


Masaru: (I finally found you, Lucent. I have to tell him as soon as possible. As soon as he clears the last part of the training he told me, you'll finally be able to...)

Masaru: (Our ties run deeper than what you believe, cousin. Until the day you two meet again, I'll keep you company, just like Kaito does...)

Then, he remembers about the Celest Gold Branching Family. They absolutely refused to help the city, claiming that only the main family has the right and the branching only supports.

Andorina: She's A-Okay! I can confirm that it was her voice that was coming out of the phone.

Rayla: That's a relief...

Reeta: Hey, do you think that she might be open for visits?

Marina: You are the only one of us here who is actually against this, alongside having the worst grades.

Xaizor: Quiet, you.

Soon, from another way came Kaito, Lucent and Masaru altogether.

Auror: Oh, it's Kaito, Masaru and Lucent!

Veronica: Good and pretty morning, you three!

Lucent: ...

Masaru: Good morning to you four. And you must be Xaizor's little sister?

Marina: Ah yes, that is me.

Masaru: It's a pleasure to meet you. If you need anything, just ask.

Veronica: Mister Masaru here is also a member of the student council and one of the most popular boys in school. All girls desire him that badly!

Kaito: You see, Lucent isn't fond of talking. The guy's very intelligent and gets the highest grades, but when it comes to socializing... let's say that doesn't happen much.

Auror: Well, Kaito and Reeta, who is another friend of ours, usually pass the time with him. Those three are almost chained to each other if you ask me.

Xaizor: Huh... hey, caped guy.

Lucent: Ah...!

Once they were reunited, the gates began to open slowly. Auror and Veronica looked up and saw a car coming. They instantly knew who it was and already shown they weren't content with it.


Auror: *sigh* Here comes trouble...

Lucent: That car...

Veronica: Yes... the Queen is arriving...

BGM: Poster Girl's Prank

An exaggerated limousine came down the streets. It was bigger than the Intermezzo one. Once it stopped, a butler opened a door and a frivolous girl came out. She was known to be that kind of rich student who looked down on everyone.

As if she was a model, she walked elegantly, but giving condescending eyes to all. Melanie went towards Auror, Veronica and the rest of the group.


Melanie: So you two are still walking with plebians, even though you are nobles? I'm always surprised how you'd put your feet down like this.

Veronica: ... Good morning to you too, Melanie.

Melanie: Auror, where's my good morning?

Auror: Oh, you said something? I was listening to the winds. They sound nicer than your voice.

Melanie: Hmph! Rude idiot.

Melanie threw her hair and turned to go to the gates. When she looked at it, her gaze met with Xaizor and Marina, whom she never saw before.


Melanie: Hmm? I haven't seen you before. I do ignore the lower class, but you do seem new to me.

Masaru: They... actually are, Melanie. Marina is a first-year like you and Xaizor is a third-year.

She pushed Masaru away as she stared directly into Xaizor's eyes. He got extremely uncomfortable as she began to speak.


Melanie: Hmm... Xaizor, is it? You are... cute. I'd give you a 7/10.

Xaizor: W-What?! C-C-Cute?!

Melanie: Ohoho! Getting flustered now? My, my. I'll raise it to an 8/10. Congratulations.

After a little laugh, she turned to look at Marina.


Melanie: But you girl...

Marina: Y-Yes? How can I help-

Melanie: Help? I don't need your help. Also, what is this dress? Have you come from a farm alongside those other brutes, except the Intermezzo? And your makeup? Gods, not even a miracle can save you!

Veronica: Melanie, stop it! Leave Marina alone!

Melanie: Veronica, I am just stating the truth. You're so dominated by those lowlifes that you can't even-

Marina: And who are you to judge me?

The students all stopped chatting and looked at Marina. No one talked back to Melanie, more to not give her a rebuttal or to hear even more condescending words from her.


Melanie: What have you just said, girl?

Marina: Honestly, I have met my share of ignorant nobles, but at least they had some decency and held their tongues whenever we were speaking.

Melanie: Do you know with who are you talking to?

Marina: I am. With a fellow student who does not look herself at a mirror before judging the rest.

Melanie: I'm not just any fellow student! I'm a noble! A plebian like you should offer more respect towards me!

Marina: Respect is earned, not offered. If you have no intentions of having respect towards me or my friends, do not expect me to give you what you dearly wish.

Melanie: ... If I were you, I'd stop right now. I can ruin your life if I merely wish to!

Marina: Your baseless intimidations are not going to drive me to fear. I will not stand quiet as you freely speaks your spite.

Angry at how Marina argued back, Melanie took a white glove out of her dress' pocket and threw it at Marina's face. It was a challenge signal, in the way of nobility.


Melanie: At the end of the classes. In the exit. I will throw you in the ground you deserve.

Veronica: W-Wait, there's no need for this-

Marina: ... Very well.

Auror: You should have said no, idiot!

Masaru: I really don't like this... Marina, you should back off.

Xaizor: Marina, you're the one who said we shouldn't cause problems. You're not being a good example!

Marina: I know what I have said. However, I am not doing this for my honor. I am doing this because she insulted you all.

Kaito: Marina...

Marina: Besides, this was not just a simple warning. When white gloves are thrown, it is a declaration of a duel. If I refuse it, it means submission to her insults and my cowardice.

Ted: This is ridiculous. I'm...technically a noble too, but I would never accept such duel. Please Rayla, say no to all of this.

Rayla: Yes. Go right ahead.

Ted: See? She disagre...

Ted: Wait, WHAT?

Rayla: Because, I'm in no position to stop someone from dueling when I kept accepting Tiane's sneak attacks on me. So go on ahead, just make sure it doesn't go too far.

Tiane: Ah, I know what you mean. You could've just run away from such minor nuinsance such as myself...

Tiane: (When I really think about it....It makes my efforts look way more insignificant...She always knew she could win because of her Ancestor Mage bloodline...Always choosing to fight to show that I had no chance at all.)

Rayla: However, there is something you need to do before I let you do whatever you want. Ted, come here for an moment.

She asks him with a whisper about The Kingdom of Arcadia, and got the answer she expected. Then, headed towards Marina and whispered in her ear.


Rayla: You have to tell me the truth about who you really are. Both of you are no ordinary people and I know that. Meet me at the rooftop and we'll talk more.

With that, she heads towards the school building, with Ted following behind her.


Andorina: What do you guys think she whispered to her?

Tiane: It's a threat...Most likely...No, definitively a threat. She can be scary like that.

Reeta: But why though? What did she do wrong?

Andorina: (Well, if she's going to be busy at the rooftop, maybe I should start gathering the get-well cards during lunch.)

Tiane: Still, this duel seems to be something worth watching.

Reeta: Of course you would say something barbaric like that.

Tiane: Well then, time to ask what class I'm actually in since I was enrolled against my will...

Marina nodded as Rayla whispered in her ear. She had no choice anymore. By that time, Melanie already went inside alongside many other students.


Xaizor: Marina... did they...

Marina: ... Xaizor, I will go alone.

Xaizor: My bad. Guess my sincerity got us.

Marina: I had really not expected for our identities to remain in shadows much longer.

Auror: I'm going too, Marina.

Xaizor: Huh?

Auror: I have a... certain obligation. Thanks to it, I need to hear what you're going to say. I won't take a no for an answer.

Marina: If you say so. Let us go, we do not wish to keep them waiting.

Marina and Auror went inside as the rest kept wondering about what they could possibly want to talk about.

Just as Rayla indicated, Marina and Auror reached the rooftop, where Rayla and Ted were waiting. Auror leaned on the bars as he looked at her.


Marina: I have come as you requested. So, what do you wish to know?

Auror: Your brother said about your home... "The Kingdom of Arcadia", was it? I guess that, from our faces, we're not inclined to believe in you, since this place doesn't exist anywhere.

Auror: Since I think Xaizor's not the best person for explaining this, it leaves you to explain it.

BGM: Gateway Galaxy -Main- (Super Mario Galaxy)


Marina: My brother... was not lying.

Auror: Hmm? So you'll lie as well?

Marina: There is an explanation for this. The Kingdom of Arcadia does not exist in this world.

Marina took from a book from her bagpack and placed it open between them. She extended her hand as the book's pages began to flip on their own. Soon, a holographic-like image appeared, showing the Kingdom of Lacrima.


Auror: What?!

Marina: Our kingdom exists in a space separate from this world's. It is the reason why you have not been able to find information about it through research. Your books and other systems to search for any sort of information about my home will never be able to find anything.

Auror: (What sort of ability is she using?! This definitely is not normal...!)

Marina: Also, just for an correction. My brother has mistaken the name. It is not The Kingdom of Arcadia and yes The Kingdom of Lacrima. Our father, King Lumino Arcadia, created this land on his own in order to save people from other worlds in danger.

Marina: As for me, allow me to present myself once again. I am Princess Marina Arcadia, from the Kingdom of Lacrima. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance.

Auror: Princess?

Marina: Yes. As proof of it...


From her bag, Marina took a circlet. It was her proof as member of the Royal Family of Lacrima.


Marina: This is my circlet. The one I use on ceremonies at our home.

Auror: ...

Marina: I know all of this may sound like a fantasy I am making to hide more secrets. However, I have no reason to lie. Our kingdom exists... not in this wold, but it does. I am its princess and Xaizor is its prince.

Marina: Even so, I will defer to your judgement. If you do wish to seek me as a liar, I will not blame you. I also believe that my explanation may not suffice all of your doubts.

Music: The More Precious the Burden, The Heavier and More Difficult It Is to Shoulder It


Rayla: Other...world...

Surprisingly enough, Rayla spoke in a rather solemn voice, as if she had realized something after seeing Marina's book and the kind of magic and technology it possessed. A terrible image from the past was flashing through her mind once more.




Rayla: So, other worlds do exist...

Ted: Rayla? What are you talking about?

Rayla: Right...Let me tell you the reason of why I believe her. Several years ago, I used to hang out with my friends at the lone tree in the grasslands. One day, these strange creatures appeared out of some portals above us...And they've devoured my friends.

Ted: R-Really?

Rayla: I managed to awaken my powers in time to save myself...At the time, nobody believed my story and declared that my friends went missing. Years later, and the central part of this city was overrun by the same monsters that attacked my friends. That area had to be isolated. From what I've heard, they can't keep those monsters captured for too long, they simply summon a portal and leave. I didn't want to believe it because it sounded plain crazy...but I've came to the conclusion that they do come from another world or dimension...

Ted: I understand now. I'm inclined to believe Marina as well.

Rayla: Marina...Let me bother you with one more question...You came to this place because of these monsters...right?

Ted: (Geez, I haven't seen Rayla this depressed...But then again, she's relieving some bad stuff that probably still gives her nightmares...)

Ted: (She saw firsthand how her friends died...Yet I've never saw how my family perished. She made an oath that made her stay strong...while I've developed a fear for hurting people...Dammit, when I'm going to decide what my path will be?)
