The two policemen exchanged a quick glance before looking back to Alice.

"Listen," Johnson said,"the hospital won't discharge you until that wound on your neck is healed up decently enough. Along with proof that you didn't contract any bacteria or diseases from such a severe open wound. I'm no doctor, but you can probably expect to be here for at least a week. It all depends on how well that wound heals."

Green suddenly spoke up, his eyes on his notepad,"Back to the case at hand; there was blood aside from your own spattered on your clothing, Alice. The hospital handed over your clothes to us when they called us in. The blood was ran and it didn't come up anywhere in our DNA banks. Tell me," he said, looking up at her from his pad,"did you struggle at all against the suspect? Any punching, scratching, biting, or anything defensive on your part?"

Johnson nodded to Alive in confirmation,"Yes, did you struggle against the suspect at all, enough to draw blood? Do you remember?"

Alice drooped at the thought of staying in the plain room for a week. It was drab, uncomfortable and did nothing to distract the poor woman from her experience. Giving a small sigh, the tailor wiped away her tears once more with the heel of her hand. "Right. My apologies. I just- I have work I-" She shook her raven tresses. Trying to summon a shaky smile, failing miserably. The situation was bad but by hell, Alice was going to try to make be best of it. "What more do you need?" She asked defeated at the thought of having to sit in the drab room.

DNA? Blood on her clothing. Alice frowned, thinking over the horrors of the night. Wincing as pain flashed through her abdomen and head. "I don't know. I just remember the pain. I think I screamed? I don't know." Alice sighed giving the officers a apologetic look. "I may have scratched him? I can't throw any type of punch well enough to draw blood." She admitted, looking terribly forlorn. "After he dropped me everything went... I couldn't think of anything really but the pain." The tiny woman admitted. "He stood over me, cradled me." A shiver of revulsion rolled through her body and across her face. Her hands rubbing at her arms as if to rid her of Liam's touch. Why did she ever welcome it? She did remember the shouts and Liam's anger at something. She remembered being forced to drink something. But she wasn't sure if she had dreamed it. Would they believe her? They were already skepitcal about her bloody tale. Though it was true!

Officer Johnson looked around at Green, who was putting his pen and pad away in his uniform shirt pocket.
Green looked at Alice and then to Johnson,"You think that's all we need?"

Johnson replied,"For now I'd say so, we have a suspect description, a location of the initial attack, and a meeting place where we can find potential witnesses for questioning. We don't have a motive for this...'attack', nor do we have any DNA records for refernce. To me, that's quite strange, that the suspect has no DNA on file. No fingerprints, blood, nothing. But, honestly, this whole case screams 'strange'."

Green nodded grimly, then looked to Alice, saying,"We'll investigate the cafe where you say you and the suspect went to, as well as all surrounding alleys of the streets you listed for any potential evidence. We are also going to have to conduct an investigation of your store, once we have a warrant."

Johnson looked to Alice, saying,"I hope you understand. We need to comb through all possible areas for evidence or clues, as well as collectible DNA. We have to go now. We'll be back to see you sometime in the next day or two."

And without further words, both men headed across Alice's room and out the door, closing it gently behind them with a click.

Alice thumped back against the pillows. The ebb and flow of pain was still washing through her body along with the blinding headaches. If anything they were growing worse and Alice hated to admit it but she was glad she was in the hospital. At least if she went seriously under, they would be right here to help. Wincing at the thought of the future bill however, Alice contemplated her savings. She would have enough, but it would put her back to the basics for a while. Not for the shop- that was a separate account, thank goodness! But it was going to be ramen for while, a long while.

Hours passed, though they were painful they did pass quickly. Courtesy of a nurse who brought Alice a pad of paper and pen after the woman pleaded for something to do. Sharing a slight joke about never sewing anything white, grey or cream again. Though to be fair, Alice was considering making those colors a fashion sin once she was free of this place. Hospitals were never her favorite spot to be. Not that she was often in them, which was a good thing. Alice sketched and made flowing dresses and trim suits, a brutal beauty about them. But as much as she tried Alice just couldn't banish the thoughts of the night before or the police officer's reactions. They wished to search her shop? That was absolutely fine with Alice. She had nothing to hide from police. Her only guilty pleasure that was questionable was a rather large bookshelf of old jazz records, romance novels, and a collection of sketches. Of course that was in her apartments above the shop, but even then! She shook her head at herself. She was a upstanding woman with no prior charges from a 'well-to-do' family. Even the latter point was one she wasn't keen on using.

Pausing her train of thought, Alice looked towards the doorway. Did she smell something? Was it food? She had eaten the food the hospital provided but it was horrid stuff and did little but make her stomach ache. Still Alice had kept it down. Curious- and no one hand specifically told her to remain in bed- the woman sighed as she guided the stupid lumbering metal coat rack that fed antibiotics into her arm. Annyoing, but surely the hospital wouldn't mind if she wandered a bit? She was a active person. Would not sitting be detrimental to her healing? Following her nose, Alice found herself wandering down the hall way. What was that wondrous smell?

Thomas sat contently in his booth seat in the back of the bar.
Benny's Bar as it was called. Though not your run of the mill cheaply watered down alley pub, it wasn't exactly a gentleman's club either. Many of the tables and wall sections had knife carvings and crude sketches in them, several chairs and stools were squeaky and somewhat rickety, just waiting for a notably heavy set patron to collapse them. The drinks, though not watered down, were short in variety, mostly a generic collection of beers and whiskey. Nothing like the imported champagnes and aged wines that a high scale bar or club would boast.

Tonight was a particularly slow night, only a dozen or so people were in patronage, most of which were a motley assortment of bums, hustlers, and gutter-rots.

"Not to your preference is it?" Came a voice.

Thomas turned his head back forward, looking to the rather young man sitting across from him.

It was his "contact", Dalton Cortland.

He and Thomas sat across from each other at a dimly lit booth in the back of the bar with red leather seats and a dark oak wood table.
Thomas was wearing his suit and tie, while Dalton was dressed more casual, wearing a black leather jacket with a prominent silver cross emblazoned on the front. In his head he wore a bulky flat-bill cap and a pair of black jeans and black and white sneakers to match.

Dalton was more relaxed, leaning back in his seat, smirking over a tall glass of beer at Thomas, who sat upright with a stern expression on his face.

Thomas slightly squinted and replied,"Well, I generally prefer to avoid bars where I'm not even sure if what I'm drinking is beer or cow piss."

Dalton snorted in response and took a big gulp from his glass, a wave of copper brown beer passing his lips and pouring down his throat.
When he finished he sat his glass down, having drained the glass a forth of the way down.
As he wiped foam from his mouth with his sleeve, he said,"That's not very nice," his voice a moderate tome with an intense pitch to it,"this is a very nice place, and Benny is a nice guy. He just runs on a tight budget in certain cases."

Thomas grunted in retort, idly picking at a loose splinter on the table.

Dalton took a quick sip of beer and said,"Sorry I missed our 'appointment' last night, I was detailed last minute."

"That's fine," Thomas said, looking up at Dalton,"now tell me, do you have anything?"

"As a matter of fact," Dalton said,"I do. I have what I believe is a solid lead on your boy Liam."
Dalton then took another big swig of beer, much to Thomas's impatient irritation.

When he lowered his glass, Dalton continued,"A friend of mine said they spotted him going into a little community cafe last night, with a pretty young lady in tow. No doubt his evening course." Dalton said with a short grin of grim humor.

"They're sure it's him?" Thomas demanded, now leaning forward intently.

"They're certain," Dalton insisted,"a tall pretty-boy with pale skin and shaggy red hair."

A strange glint appeared within the depth of Thomas's eyes.

That's him.

"Anything else?" Demanded Thomas.

"Sort of," Dalton replied,"I tried to get the name of the woman he was with, but couldn't dig up anything."

Thomas understood. If they could find out anything about the woman, they could learn where she had lived, and could then use her home as a point of triangulating potential feeding locations and tracking Liam's attacks. The trail of blood would eventually lead them to him.

"Keep investigating," Thomas demanded,"see if you can learn the woman's full name at least, that way we can locate her place of residence and go from there. Have your friend ask around regularly at that cafe, if that woman was a regular patron surely someone at least knew who she was. You pitch in too while your at it."

"Yes of course," Dalton said, a twang of indignity in his words,"I'll keep searching and let you know when I have something."

Dalton swallowed the last of the beer from his glass and then stood slowly, slapping a two dollar tip down on the table before strutting off for the door, leaving Thomas alone at the booth.

We've got your scent now you slippery bastard.

Thomas grinned sharply in the dim light of the booth, his teeth holding a slight shine to them.

It was intoxicating and incredibly painful. Having slipped into the cold room, Alice rubbed her arms under the pathetic excuse for a gown. But the smell was all around, she had seen a nurse slip out of the room just mere minutes before she approached. Covering her mouth, Alice stiffled a whimper. Blood. Like that night, that terrifying night. The pain that filled her then, filling her now. Blood was everywhere and it's beautiful scent filled her. A slow shimmering on the floor was the puddle of red, Alice stared at the horrifying beauty. Why was it beautiful? The pain that coursed through her made the night before seem like nothing as she fell to her knees before the spilled bag. Something urging her towards the red. This- this is what Liam was talking about? The ambrosia of life? She wanted to weep as her slim fingers dipped into the red and she brought it to her lips. As she suckled the blood from her fingers. A throbbing pulse broke through her as the pain ebbed, as she leaned down and trailed her tongue through the blood. Drinking the puddle. Like some piece of the puzzle finally fit.

But she was aware. Oh, Alice was very aware. She did not touch the fallen bag. No, that would leave a trace. She must not leave a trace. She must not give anyone any reason to suspect anything. It was that thought that pulled her from the blood her throat sated for the time. The puddle of red smaller. Hobbling back to her room, Alice felt better than she had in days. But she also felt something else stirring. Fear. Why had she drank the blood? Smelt the blood so far away? It still called to her. Urging her to return and feast. But the tailor set her will against it. No- no, she had to wait. Hold out. The blood would still be there. But what if they thought she was crazy? There would be problems then. Problems Alice knew would cause the collapse of everything. So she slid back into bed, her mouth dry and clean and her fingers clean as well. A good scrub in the restroom had fixed that. Closing her eyes Alice gave a low sigh. The beauty was all around, and the pain had stopped at last. Finally, she could rest.

Knock-knock-knock.

The knocking of a fist on wood split the air in Alice's room.
Several seconds afterward, with a click of the door handle, the heavy wooden door swung open.

In stepped a tall man in a long, white lab coat with black slacks.
He was an older man, anywhere from his early fifties to mid-sixties.
He had snow what hair which grew in tight curls, which was cut medium length. He had thick, bushy black eyebrows that slanted upward, giving him a passive sympathetic look. His eyes were deep marked with crow's feet and his thin lips were riveted with wrinkles.

The coat, name tag, and clipboard marked him as a doctor.

He shut the door behind him firmly, and as he slowly approached Alice's bed, clipboard tucked under his arm, he loudly proclaimed,"Good morning", his voice loud and powerful,"wake up Miss Lynch, doctor Williams calling."

The digital clock across the room was marked at seven-fifteen, a new day, a new morning.

Alice grumbled at the knocking. Who would be waking her up this early in the morning? And how did they even get into her apartment? Hearing a door open then close, the raven headed tailor blinked sleepily as she looked towards the noise. She was in a hospital, not her home. Her mouth drew into a tight frown at the not so distant memories of the fateful night as she had taken to calling it. If anything irritated Alice Lynch it was someone mistreating clothes. Given that Liam Enduro had no so much mistreated her clothes, but destroyed them... Well had she been the Queen of England, she too could command the winds so to speak. Essentially the psychopathic man had declared a war with the tailor and when clothes were involved the tailor was not one to let up.

Well, Alice reflected on that thought. It seemed she was doing better if she was angry at the man. Anger was better than sadness. Of course she was still was sad, but it was a small thing in compared to his sins and crimes against decent formal wear. "A morning to you Doctor, but I would hardly call it good." Her voice was clipped and irritated at being woken. "Then again, I wouldn't call any morning for better or worse 'good'." Alice admitted, arching a brow. "I don't suppose you know how much longs I'm going to be here? Not that I don't appreciate the care and all, but I do want to get back to my shop." She gave the man an apologetic half smile that was converted into a yawn behind one hand. It wasn't her fault she couldn't go home, but Alice was truly tired of white. It was a drab color at the best of times. Now? It was something she was most certainly not going to go overboard with for a good while!

Doctor Williams faked a weak laugh and responded,"After what you've been through and your incentive is to return to work. Remarkable." He slightly shook his head.

He lay his clipboard down at the foot of her bed, then looked to her saying,"Honestly Miss Lynch. how long you will be here depends on how well that deep wound on your neck heals, or rather how long it takes it to heal properly. It could be a week, it could be two weeks. The immediate concern is fighting off potential infection until it heals within a decent range. When it reaches a point that we're sure it won't turn to infection, then you can go."

He stepped back slightly then, clasping his hands loosely behind his back, then saying,"The good news is there's no signs of infection currently in the wound, or disease. Seeing that you claim you were bitten by this attacker, we've run blood tests, and fortunately there's no sign of transferred diseases."

He gave her a reassuring nod and a short smile.
He then approached her, extending his large hands towards her neck.

"Let's have a look at this." He said ever casually.

He took hold of the edges of the layers of medical tape that held the wad of bandages on her neck in place, and gently began peeling the large applicant away.
He pulled it half way back and peered under the bandage cluster.

His expression changed slowly. His mouth turned downward into a deep frown, his grey eyes narrowed slightly, and his thick eyebrows notched downward into a furrow.

"Hmm..."He grumbled.

He peeled the bandage further back, then without warning snatched from her neck with a ripping of tape.

Nothing.
There was no wound, no blood, no marking, not even a scab.

"What is this..."he grumbled in a harsher tone.
His eyes cut downward to stare Alice in the face as he stood away from her, the was of bandages and tape half clenched in his hand.

"Is this some kind of a sick prank?" He hissed at Alice,"There's nothing there, no wound, cuts, or anything!"

His previously passive expression was now hard and accusatory with rivets of anger as he stared down at Alice, wanting an explanation.

The small woman gave a nod in understanding at the doctor's words. She didn't like them but she understood the reasoning. After all, it was better to get well than keep coming back to the hospital for infections and such. "I enjoy my work." Alice gave Dr. Williams a tired smile. However the smile soon faded as she frowned at his expression as he removed the bandages.

"What are earth are you doing?" Alice exclaimed in panic, before catching sight of her shoulder. Whole and unblemished. Staring at it in open mouthed shock the woman crossed herself. Whole her family was Catholic, and Alice was not necessarily religiously inclined. This was something she was very much startled by. Shaking her head Alice whisper in horror. "Why would I play such a stupid and foolish prank?! I was attacked by some psycho, woke up in a hospital!" She voice rose in distress. "My clothes were covered in blood!" Her confusion bringing tears to her eyes as she stared at the healed skin. "My god."

Doctor Williams stood frozen in place, Alice's words and the knowledge of the entire ordeal all rattled around in his mind.

This made no sense! How could such a wound heal so fast and leave behind no scar nor blemishes to boot? Her claims were true, when the hospital nurses had found her she was soaked in blood and the report did list a wide, deep open wound that stretched nearly the entirety of the left side of her neck, below her ear. The attending nurses themselves cleaned and cared for the wound and filled out the proper reports.
So it wasn't some kind of a prank or jest, she in fact did suffer such a damaging wound to her neck. But still...

How, how, how did it heal to such a perfect extent in a period of less than forty hours? And no scarring? This is unrealistic!

Doctor Williams was rubbing intently at the bridge of his nose with two fingers, his eyes were squeezed shut, his faced locked into intensity.
He finally lowered his hand and looked to Alice and spoke, the hard look never leaving his face,"Look, this....I don't know..."he trailed off, sighing heavily and looking back to her, his face slightly tendering,"I need to go speak with my associates. I'll be back shortly."

He grabbed up his clipboard and hurried toward the door, pitching the wad of bandages and tape into the trash can by the door as he went.
As he closed the door behind him, his quick footsteps could be heard echoing all down through the long hallway.

Alice blinked in confusion. So- What now? Picking up the pad of paper and pen. She settled back against the pillows. Designing more flowing robes. Something for those lovers who wanted a more whimsical night. Though the patterns under her hands changed again and again. Turning into something more akin to a costume. But then as Alice studied the fairy outfit, she did have that one client who always paid top dollar for the flimsy little dresses. Giving a slight chuckles, the tailor knew if the woman couldn't afford it she would be able to later down the road. As a teacher, Clarice Willowbrook's income was tightly stretched but she made it work by plying a side job as model. The woman had the looks, Alice would admit.

But that was Mz. Willowbrook's situation and not her own. Frowning the raven haired woman, continued to sketch. So her wound had healed? And so quickly? Was this because of the night before? The blood she had- Alice covered her mouth as she paled. She had drank blood. Honest to goodness human blood. Like Liam. Did he infect her? Then why had the doctors not picked anything up? Was it unknown? So rare? Alice shivered, rubbing her arms to get back some warm into her veins. Perhaps this was all a misunderstanding or some horrible nightmare? As much as she would have liked to believe that, it wasn't likely. Alice closed her eyes as she scolded her panic. One thing at a time, after all. First she wanted to get home. Once there, she could... Do what? Figure this out? It seemed her only option. To move on and work out what was going on.

It was over an hour before Doctor Williams returned, his arrival announced with a short three-count knock and the opening of the door.

He didn't have his clipboard this time. His face, though rather gravely, wasn't as harsh and prying as earlier.
He approached Alice in a casual step, his arms loose hanging at his side.

"Well, Miss Lynch," he said as he drew close,"you have us stumped. My fellow doctors and I are completely baffled by the spontaneous healing of your wound. Absolutely clueless is a good descriptive phrase."

He clasped his hands behind him, his fingers ringing rather tightly behind his back,"Techinically, physically, your completely healed and well. However, Miss Lynch, my colleagues and I wish to keep at at least for or more day, preferably two. We want to run some in-depth tests on you, blood tests, cat scans, an MRI probably."

He paused for a minute, letting his words sink in, think continuing, in a rather assertive way,"You must understand. Your 'spontaneous healing' from such a severe wound is...miraculous. It's never been heard of in medical history, Miss Lynch, and we are very interested in how your body pulled off something so miraculous."

He turned and headed for the door. As he turned the handle and pulled it open, he looked back to Alice and said,"Just relax for now. I'll schedule a cat scan for you at two, and we'll draw some blood around one, prior to the cat scan. Rest easy until then."

Alice blinked as the doctor came back in looking rather different from when he left. It was rather odd. The entire thing. She had healed miraculously and beautifully. Relief flooded her for a brief second. No need to worry about wearing high necked dresses all the time! No questioning about that curious scar. For the scare would never be. It was a relief- though a small one. But one Alice took in stride and hugged tightly to herself. However that relief was followed by irritation.

They wanted to run most tests. MRI, blood, cat scans. Alice fell back against the pillows. She was going to be stuck here forever, to be tested on because they wanted to be careful. She had a job! A shop! A lovely job and life! And if she saw that Liam Enduro again... Alice puffed out her cheek and her green eyes turned flinty. She'd stab that man. With her pricking needles and pins! Let that fool see how he liked being helpless! Dying in the street! Breathing out a sigh, Alice shook her head. Out of the hospital, work, and then she would work out what that man did to her. And if they didn't let her out tomorrow- she was going to start coloring the walls and to hell with the consequences!

Thus did her day pass. Test after test, annoyance after annoyance. Alice bored it all with a smile and false cheer, though as she sat down for dinner... Her cheer was dead on this waste of food. It did not taste good, it did nothing to fill her. She only ate half before setting it aside and going back to the designs. Annoyed by the entire situation.

Ten o'clock, the small digital clock in Alice's room made a resounding beep-beep on the far wall as the hour changed, as it had all day throughout the passing hours.

The nurses had drawn the last of Alice's blood for the night with assurance during the last drawing, but ensured her to expect more tomorrow after breakfast.
It had been several hours since the last drawing and no one had been to her room since.

Knock-knock-knock.

A rapping came at Alice's door, followed by it immediately swinging open and closed thereafter.

Into Alice's room came a policeman, not Johnson or Green from the day before, but a different one. This man was noticeably taller than both of them, though had the same similar body build, average but physically maintained. Unlike both of them he wore a dark blue police cap marked NYPD to match his uniform. He had a short-cut yet rather scruffy chocolate-brown beard on his face, and average length hair of the same color, which was plastered over his ears and against the back of his neck with a thick applicant of gel.

Unlike the other two, he did not wear a gun or nightstick at his waist, only a set of secured handcuffs and a taser.

He stopped at about six feet from Alice's bed, raising his eyes to meet her, which were a deep brown.

"Are you Alice Lynch?" He asked,"The woman who was attacked and reportedly wounded on the neck and left for dead outside of the hospital?"
His tone, though not brutish, was rather demanding and interrogative.

Alice looked up sharply as a knocking came from the door. Were they not done already?! It was ten o'clock at night! A ridiculous time to be running even more tests! She was a patient person, but now her patient was at it's limits. Opening her mouth to demand they let her be and rest (and perhaps even out of the hospital), she paused when a officer just walked in. Her back stiffened as her green eyes narrowed. Patience went out the window faster than the speed of sound. If he didn't have damn information about Liam Enduro he was about to get an earful.

"I am." Her voice was cold, polite but cold. "I am also the woman who has endured more tests than is sane." Giving the man a pointed look then looking at the clock. She turned her gaze back to him. "You do realize the time? My apologies officer, but my patience is at it's limit and I would like to rest." Untrue, but she would like to be left alone. To be in peace and quiet. Away from the bustle of the day. "Unless you have more information on my attack= such as you caught the man?" Her eyes gleamed with hope, but there was a twinge in the back of her mind. This man looked a little odd. Not only that he was talking odd. The other officers introduced themselves and eased into things. This man was blunt and straight to the point. Perhaps he had no people skills but Alice narrowed her eyes and lifted her chin in stubborn pride.

"The attacker is still being searched for even as we speak," he said, his voice coarse and rather dry,"now, regarding you, well, I'm afraid I have no say in your official discharge. I do also realize the time, and I have had no hand in the amount of tests the hospital has performed on you. Though I may have to make a round through the blood labs myself."

He paused very briefly, then took a step forward and looked piercingly at Alice, his face sterner than a statues.

"Reports say that you were allegedly bitten on the left side of your neck, and yet..." his eyes swiveled from her face to her left neck side,"I see no bandage, no wound, and no scabbing. Conventional wounds don't heal so quickly Miss Lynch."

His right upper lip wrinkled into a slight sneer which slightly jutted his mustache,"Tell me, Madam Lynch, how has your diet been since admittance to the hospital? How is the food?"

His eyes bore into her, his hands seemed tense, his fingers were each as straight as boards away from his hands.

Alice slowly stood from the bed. Something wasn't right, and if she admitted it. Alice as scared, this was all hitting too close to home. Keeping the bed between her and the man, Alice answered. Her voice tempered with that worry. "That's exactly why the doctors wish to run tests." She explained slowly. "I- nor they- know what happened or is going on exactly." It was all true, what did this officer want? Why did she get such a hostile feeling from him? His questions were strange as well. Her eyes looked with confusion at the man and the door.

"My diet has not been... at it's best." She admitted, wanting this man to leave. "The food is hospital food and well... I sure they try, I just don't care for it at all." She stated honestly. Was he a reporter? Though the sneer rankled her. Why was he being so rude? "I'm going to ask you to leave. If you don't I will call security!" She declared, trying to sound in control. Alice knew she was in another dangerous situation. Twice in a week honed her edge on that. And this was the second time.

At her demand the officer simply smirked coldly, glaring slightly beneath his police hat before continuing,"Miss Lynch I would suggest that you tone it down and cooperate. Besides, this hospital has no security, only nurses and doctors, none of whom can capably remove me from this premises."

He paused and then stepped casually to his right, eyeing the nearby portable meal table that was pushed against the wall out of the way. The officer ignored Alice's demand that he leave and turned back to face her again.

"Regarding your diet once more Miss Lynch," he said in a firm yet snake-like tone,"you say that the hospital food isn't much to your fancy as I take it. I myself am not very fond of cafeteria food. Though I'd wager that your a picky eater, madam. A very picky eater."

He stepped back to his left in an ever casual way, his hands and arms now lax at his side. He was looking idly at a nearby calendar hung on the white wall.
He was standing directly in front of the door.

"I can see why your appetite is suffering from un-satisfaction though," he said, lowering his head so that the shadow of his cap shrouded his face,"after all, no hospitals that I know serve a regular course of blood."

His head suddenly snapped up and he whirled around, yet remaining in place as he did so. A sharp, dangerous keen was in his eyes, his nostrils flared at the edges, and his mouth was tight lipped and his jaw jutted out.
His hands were both now at equal behind his back, and his feet were parted in a stance of action preparedness. The flesh around his eyes quivered, his pupils were the size of pinheads.

Alice shivered as this man pointed out that this hospital had no security. That scared her, though it leaned towards confirming he was not a officer of the law. Her mind still shrieked over the fact that this hospital had no security. Like, seriously! Didn't they even have a single emergency guard or whatever?! What if something happened, like this? It was negligent! "S-so what if I am a picky eater?" Alice's voice quavered as she fisted her hands to stop them from shaking. This intruder was truly scaring her. No, terrifying would be a better word.

And he was between her and the door. Color drained from Alice's face as she considered her options. The only escape route was out the window and that wasn't a very good idea! "I-I don't drink blood!" She declared, denying the truth of it. Reasoning for the moment she hadn't drank it but rather licked it. "That's just sick." She whispered, and it was sick. The sweet richness of it. She wanted more just as much as she wanted to flee from herself and her wants. But then the man whirled around looking half-crazed. Alice felt her heart stop in terror as she drew in a breathe and let out a shrill scream. It was her only defense, she wasn't a fighter! If he lunged the woman was preparing to leap over the bed and circle about him for the door. From there, it was anyone's guess what she'd do aside from run. Run far, far away and then summon the police to help her perhaps? Alice wasn't thinking that far yet, the screaming part seemed more important.
