Ozerath U WOT M8?

I think it best we wait a few more days for the GM before kicking off the main plot points, but for the moment, I do have a standalone post introducing my Flying Dutchman concept, a Concordat dreadnought named Valda, hopelessly addicted to petrichor and thoroughly insane. When she can't get Petrichor, she settles for torturing vacare and feeding on their agony. She's also capable of fully entering the void, making her fast and difficult to detect or pursue. She's tough and packs a punch, but she can't take on fleets. Expect her to go for isolated ships.

Some kind of randomization system for her might be fun. Something like every player gets a number, then every now and then we roll some dice and the corresponding number gets a Valda encounter? Could be neat, though I recognize most of us probably aren't that fond of dice.

I could also just keep her as an entirely internal Concordat plot.

Thoughts?

@Ozerath I'm used to the idea of using dice since tabletop gaming. It's an interesting idea, depending on how it's handled it should be fine I think. The only worry I'd have is how this ship appears since it could easily throw a wrench into someone's plans.

I mean, Khan already posted a 'after the emperor' ic.

I figure Poly can just do a flashback and fill in the details when he gets back. I think we ought to start getting posts out.

I'll have mine out tonight.

Posted. Sortve a weird one. Mentioned the Sefts, figured the Kesselbroods may have wanted to marry into the Trust before the Emperor died and the galaxy, one assumes, erupted into flames.

Interesting that Kesselbroods would want to marry into a none noble house. At least them being non-aristocrats seemed to be the main focus Isotope wanted to get across.

Btw @Flagg I have another plot point that will focus in on Petrichor, specifically a transport of it. I'll send a PM later with more details to see what you think of it.

They're sortve de facto nobles though and they're rich and have control of manufacturing that the Kesselbroods lack. Good point though. If we develop the storyline at all the fact that the Sefts are technically not nobles should come up.

@FlaggDefinitely something I intend to explore.

As for my opening post, it's a sort of explanation for where the Trust will be when I'm interacting with you and @GreivousKhan. Enjoy c:

Posted. Just a bit of introspection by the Concordat's flagship, followed by a fun bit of combat.

I'll get into Concordat politics and goals in my next post, didn't want to make an even bigger wall of text just yet.

I have really enjoyed this first round of posts from everybody. I am pleasantly suprised by the quality of posts everyone is putting up and I look forward to seeing where these plots all go. I'm going to get started on my next post late tonight or tomorrow.

@Ozerath@Legion02@Isotope of course, the more the merrier. The way I have it set up is that the IB (or at least loyalist of a faction within it) will arrive on the scene first to apprehend the prince. However, they'll be intercepted by Order agents. Now here's the interesting part, the IB will have forces on standby for/if things go awry and will have a fleet in orbit which will be in a deadlock in space with others forces. (no one wants to start something that could escalate out of control. At least at the outset.)

Now my idea is other players can have agents on planet sent ahead of time to confirm the prince's location or what have you. Every one there though will be outmatched by the IB however, forcing deferring agents from each player faction to work together despite having their own factions agendas on top of that. No one want's the IB to have the prince, but no single one can handle the situation on their own. Will make for a very interesting scenario I think, or we can see how things pan out. This also means it will be more a focus on individual characters in this side-plot. The unlikely allies trope.

What do ya'll think?

@GreivousKhan

As will be explained in my next post, Ademnon just wants an Imperial Heir back on the throne. He'll have 0 problems cooperating to do so. So yes, sounds good.

Things will be more split between the scions of House Regis, especially with the eldest son, Adamus, who in his eyes, has more grander ambitions for the Empire.
