Jericho would go to the kids from the basement and see that they are taken care of before joining the others in the basement and quietly says to themm.

"Penny for your thoughts? I haven't seen a summoning attempt this stupid since the time some idiot tried to summon something from the Dreamlands..."

Those in the basement might have heard of the incident in Istanbul a year ago where an amateur summoner tried to bring an entity too powerful for them to control into the real world from a place known as the Dreamlands. The creature proceeded to tear through the poor districts before it was brought down by MIB/S agents and sent back to where it belonged.

Curwen sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose as he examined busted trap, searching his mind through all the grimoirs he'd read about what sort of demon this binding was meant to entrap. "I seen one worse than this, once." he said. "Some young idiot stole the bones of a distant ancestor, a magician, and decide to bind him for tutor. 'Course, he didn't make the logic leap that the shade might be able to call something up against him and the whole thing turned into a shitshow." He stood up, back cracking from leaning over that long. "To this day I'm still not sure if I truly put him back in the ground."

"Point is; this missing girl, Sage, might not be malicious. I hope that she's just stupid, and I hope that demon didn't make he pay too hard for it." He walked to the edge of the hole and called up. He knew that the agency man was still up there but he honestly didn't care about his reprimands at the moment. Not when he still had a job to do. Not if a girl was missing. He shouted up to them, "Put out an APB for this Sage girl. Not as a suspect, that'll just make her friends protect her. Say she's wanted as a witness." It wasn't a lie, she was an incredibly important witness. "And pull her file from the school computer, I want to read it and can't work the blasted things. We need to know where she lives. That girl is our only hope of beating this demon before it harms someone else.

He turned back to the others in the basement. "If we can get this demons name from her, I can put it down no matter how well hidden it is."

(Was it a professional sort of trap that Curwen had encountered before in his studies, or does it look like something that was put together using elements from multiple sources? Are there any elements of the design that give any cues as to what type of demon this was meant to contain? Finally, which part of it failed? What did she do wrong?)

The work in the basement was that of an untrained teen. It was clear that she had used more than one source. It was similar to traps seen by those who studied mythical traps and demonology. She had many of the elements of a demon trap. One that might have held a lower level demon, like an imp, if it had been right. But she had missed up a couple of symbols. She had been very close two symbols had been switched around. It was clear that she had been trying to get something small that she thought she could handle but had pulled up something bigger. More than the trap would have been able to handle even if Sage had gotten everything right.

The principal pulled Sage's record. It wasn't as helpful as it could have been. Her grades were decent. Mostly Bs with a few Cs.She had never been in any major trouble. She had been meeting with the counselor at least once a week this school year. The counselor's notes indicated that they had mostly talked about her parents' getting divorced and her brother being in a coma. Her brother had been in a car accident. involving a drunk driver. There wasn't much in her records to indicate why Sage might have done something like this. Unless she was hoping to make a deal to get her brother back or keep her parents together.

Henry "Hank" Dauterive / Michelle "Micheal" Jones

Henry was thinking for a moment wondering where the missing girl could be, Thinking perhaps if she is still in the school hiding or ran home to her parental figure. The lich was tapping his finger on his lips in deep thought, "Do you know where she could be?, Is their anyone here with abilities to track her?" He asked the other agents and the principal. Taking the folder with Page's file scanning over it absorbing the information he had read.

Micheal meanwhile was thinking himself, Mostly about if he would make it for Friday Nacho Night. But his mind coming back to the problem of finding the missing girl. "I can check her house in case she ran back to her house if anyone wanna join me?" The older man said cracking his neck quite loudly, "Hi Robert Smith mind if i look at that folder" He said speaking to Henry who glared at him. Being handed the folded looking though it thinking perhaps she is close by and should search the area in case she is hiding there.

Jericho looked to Henry and Micheal as they talked, and when offered a chance to go to Sage's house to investigate, he nods.

"I'll go, I have a few tricks that might be able to help. Nothing really having to do with tracking, but I can get information well enough. Mind if I take a look at the file?"

When handed the file he would accept it with a thanks and look into it, when reading through it he would stop at her parent's getting a divorce on top of her brother being in a coma and just sigh sadly.

"Poor thing has it rough...can't say I don't know how she feels though..."

"Girl's the most dangerous kind of wizard." Curwen said. "A talented, desperate amateur. Incredibly talented. This is just something she hacked together herself. Literally one mistake away from working." He let out a short, sharp whistle and a little grey dog bounded down into the basement. He nodded to it, and said, "Take him with ya. Find something personal of the girls and he might sniff her out. Danny." He said, knealling down to the little shade who padded loyally up to his outstretched hands. Curwen grabbed the dog around the neck and gave it a good, vigorous scratch. "Now you be be good. You be good boy. You do what these men say, yeah?"

He let the dog go and it walked over and sat next to Micheal's feet, wagging its tail and looking up at him expectantly. Curwen stood up. "I'm gonna get her library history. See if I can find any books she might have gotten these symbols from. Here." He pulled out a pen and, finding a bit of stray paper on the floor, wrote down his cell number and handed it to Jericho. "You boys contact me if ya find anything. And whatever you give the dog to sniff? Bring it back. I might have use of it if... if the worst has happened."

He hoped she was still alive. She didn't seem like a bad girl, just in over her head. All she needed was a teacher.

Micheal was gently petting the head of the dog, Being reminded of his childhood pet a golden receiver named "Benji". "We should check her locker, She might have something persona that he can sniff out" Micheal suggested looking over at Curwen and then the others. "I will come with you in case they are any demons left over or larking about" Henry interjected wanting to rescue or rather find the girl and be done with this job.

Hours passed without much progress. Michael and Henry found little at Sage's house. She hadn't gone there. Neither of her parents had heard from her. They spent more time blaming each other than trying to help Michael and Henry find anything. The girl's room held a few clues. They would find several books on demonology. Some were the real deal which would raise questions as to how a girl from a non-magical family had gotten ahold of the books.

Jericho would learn that Sage had few friends. They would tell him that she had felt alone and like she had no control of her life. Her parents rarely acknowledged her since her brother's accident. They had tried to help but Sage had withdrawn into herself and had refused to allow them to be there for her.

Curwen would find several books checked out to Sage. Some were the type expected of a girl her age. Others were a little unusual. She had checked out several on theories on the occult. Unfortunately the school didn't have any actually magical or occult books so any information that Sage had gotten from them might not be accurate.

Henry and Micheal would check where the books could have been printed or distributed, The two of them knew they were going to get nothing otu of the parents. Micheal suggested giving Paige's parents a good talking to but Henry said they would have to save that for later, For now the two men were trying to figure out where Paige had gotten these book so perhaps the owner knows where she is.

Mason was quickly running trying to find somewhere to hide before nightfall. He was cutting it close. He ran around a corner not paying attention when he ran full speed into a man. He was very apparently intoxicated. He had a now empty bottle in his hand and wore black track pants and a white muscle shirt that now was drenched down the front. "HEY! WHAT THE HELL MAN!?" the person said pushing mason back making him hit a wall. "I was having a good time till you came along and spilled my drink, give me a good reason to not kick your #$$ punk!". Mason's eyes went wide as he shook his head holding out his arms to try to say no. "What's that you can't speak?! Not my problem!" The man went to hit him but stopped when mason leaned over holding his head. Waving him to leave as Mason's shadow seemed to grow and absorb himself, the drunk man stayed saying "what's going on?".
Suddenly the shadow jumped up around mason seeming to cover him in a ink like substance. His eyes were now white dots as he looked up the man tripped back falling "He-hey man look I'm sorry just don't hurt me" he began to slide back in fear pressing against the wall he began to call out in fear screaming for help. Shadow ran smashing into things leaving a black gel like trail going the opposite direction of the sound of feet falling coming in help of the man.

Shadow had ran in a panic out into the street scaring pedestrians and drivers. He was hit by one car leaving the black gel on the hood and a dent. Shadow was now limping he found a way to a sewer gate he slipped by the bars and kept going till he was out of sight but he still left the trail behind him as he tryed to see what damages had been done be getting hit.

Back where it had started the police had shown up and we're questioning the man.

Griffin woke up as the sun started to set. He made his way to the shower while he decided what to drink. He usually started the night with bagged blood just because it was easier. He decided he needed live blood by the time he finished showering.

He was in the middle of getting dressed when his phone rang. He listened to the update on the situation. He thought the agents mostly had the demon case under control. Which allowed him to handle the new situation. The new situation didn't sound serious but definitely fit under their umbrella.

He was told that another agent would be meeting him at the scene. Griffin wasn't thrilled at the idea of working with someone else. He was a loner. But the agency was pushing teamwork. Which meant that he had to adapt or stop working for the agency. As much as he disliked admitting it he needed the agency.

Richard was the first agent on the scene, but the bureau had told him that he would be getting a partner for this investigation. He fresh out of training and was rather excited considering this would be the very first case he would be on. He scanned the scene and noted that the policemen were already at work talking to two people that were part of the incident. The first man was unscathed while the other had some cuts and bruises being treated by the on site paramedics. As soon as Richard saw the injured man, he rushed over to him. Much to the shock of everyone present. Evermore so when Richard's hand produced a faint light that healed the small cuts and bruises of the formerly injured man.

The police had been cautious of the man and reported his sudden appearance to their dispatcher. Richard overheard the call and attempted to smooth out the situation as quickly as he could.

"No need to worry gents. I'm with the government."

Richard said with utmost professionalism...that was shattered instantly when he fumbled to draw his badge and caused it to get snagged in his pocket and drop it in a puddle of God knows what. 'So much for good first impressions...'

Griffin arrived shortly after the other agent. As he walked toward where he was told the other agent was he learned that the idiot had already endangered them by revealing his less than human nature. Griffin grumbled under his breath as he stormed over to his new partner. He pulled his ID out and showed it to the concerned officers.

"Rookies. You understand." Luckily Griffin didn't have to used his mind control powers to back off. The officer rolled his eyes and nodded.

"Make sure he has his badge in sight when he comes to a scene." Griffin nodded as he grabbed the younger man's arm. His partner was mostly human. Which didn't help since he hadn't taken the time to eat yet. He growled as he drug his partner way from the crowd. He didn't have the patience to deal with a rookie who didn't know what the hell he was doing.

"Did you miss the first day at the academy?" He asked gruffly. "You aren't supposed to allow everyone to see you use your abilities. We are supposed to appear HUMAN. Now we have to find every person who saw your damn light and flash them. Do you know how long that will take?" The creature, he wasn't sure what it was yet, already had a head start on them. The last things they needed was to waste more time.

Richard was absolutely shocked by the sheer strength by the man who had dragged him away from the small group of people. Though the most prominent of emotions he felt was embarrassment. In a moment of emotion he had forgotten the most important of rules taught in the academy. Never show your abilities in public. He couldn't face the other agent properly out of how much he was screwing up on his first day on the job. The great feeling of anxiety caused the stuttering he does when nervous or anxious to act up.

" I-I-I'm sorry. Its-Its just the guy was hurt and-and I wanted to help him... He thought about how many people saw him cast the minor healing miracle. one...two. No. Four. There were four others who saw him cast. " Oh! T-there were f-four others who saw me. It-it shouldn't take mo-more than a c-couple minutes to fix." He hoped. He knew that there would be a report after the case and he was sure his assigned partner would no doubt write this down...but maybe he could still salvage the situation and soften the hard landing.

Griffin closed his eyes and counted to hundred and than did it again. He needed to learn patience. The higher ups in the agency had been stressing this since he joined. It took all his will power not to kill the rookie. He glared at the younger man. "Are you sure it was only four?" He growled. It was a huge crowd. The darkness helped the the man's healing created light which would attract attention. There was no way that he could think of to make sure no one else saw the spell but hopefully the rookie knew something he didn't.

"You are going to have to either learn to hide your damn healing spell better." Griffin growled as he glared at the younger man. He tried to remember that the man was just trying to help. He was doing a crappy job but he was trying. Griffin took a deep breath even though he technically didn't need to do so.

"It looks like we are going to be working together. At least for now. My name is Griffin." He was trying to be civil. It was something he was working on. Yelling at his partner wasn't going to accomplish anything but waste more time so he was going to try to get back to business. "You go take care of the people who saw you use magic and I will see if I can find out anything useful about this creature we are tracking."

"I-I-I'm sure. Its just the paramedic, The-the wounded guy, and th-the two of-officers. The r-rest pr-probably thought I-I used a flashlight t-to make a light so I could check the guy." Richard stuttered out before pulling out a small flashlight, the small key chain kind, that produced a faint light similar to the one he produced earlier. Richard knew that the man is doing his best to keep calm in the situation and heard the advice given regarding further use of his magic. "I-I will." He then heard the man let out a breath before introducing himself and suggesting that Richard deal with the 4 who saw him. Richard did his best to keep the name in memory before replying to his superior. "Ye-yes sir! I'll g-go do that right away Mr. Griffin!" he was about to leave before remembering his manners, Griffin gave him his name and he nearly forgot to give him his. He didn't want to be rude.

He quickly turns to face Griffin and offers him a salute "I-I'm Ri-Richard Anselm, Sir and I apologize for my foolish actions." After giving his introduction and apology to Agent Griffin he then lowered his arm before going to deal with those who saw him use magic.

"It's just Griffin." He growled after the rookie. Why did he get stuck with the new guy? It was like fate was out to prove that he couldn't do this. He needed this. Having something his attention on helped him control the hunger. He was determined to be a better vampire than his sir. He hadn't had the best start. His life as a human had been a dark one. His sir had been mad with blood lust. Griffin had to fight the craving every minute that he was awake.

He made his way back to the scene. There were still too many people around. He would have to be careful. Fortunately most of his abilities were less visible than his partner's. He spotted the trail almost immediately. He knelt down close to it. He touched it. He rubbed it between two fingers trying to identify what it was. He brought his fingers up to his nose to try to get the creature's scent.

'Just Griffin...got it.' Richard thought as he approached the two police officers. It took him a minute or so of explaining to convince them that the light they saw originated from the pocket flashlight he had on him. The officers accepted the excuse with little to no issue, and reminded Richard be more professional next time. With the police convinced that he just used a light to check on the man, he moves on to the more difficult people to convince. The kind of difficult that would need a little memory replacement via Bureau issue neuralizer. Richard prepares himself and shakes off the feelings of anxiety, as he knew that one misspoken word or statement would just cause him more problems.

Walking there, he sees the paramedic was still in shock but was repetitively re-examining and questioning the formerly injured man over and over to reaffirm himself that what he saw was true and he wasn't hallucinating. While the man Richard healed was even more dumbfounded than the paramedic but was quickly getting irritated by the incessant and repetitive actions of the said paramedic. "How many more times do I have to say it? I. don't. know. what. happened. The guy just walks up to me and there was something bright in his hands then all my injuries were gone." the man replied to the paramedic, irritated but kept from raising his voice. The paramedic, gently shook his head side to side and let out a deep breath before speaking up. "So...It was some sort of miracle or something?" The man nods ans replies with a quick but still irritated 'yeah'. "Alright, alright. No need to get upset, sir. I'm just making sure...I better go talk to the guy about this."

It was then Richard stepped in and gave them both a friendly nod. "No need to do that gents. If you would follow me I'll answer all your questions. We just need to find a more...quiet place." The two had reason to distrust the strange man, but he could provide an explanation that they both needed, so they follow him without question. Richard leads them to the alley way. Richard looks around for witnesses but finds that it was just the three of them. He stops and turns to face the two and pulls out the neuralizer and sets it to past 10 minutes before asking them to look at the small metal device. The two look intently at the device as Richard covers his, as the flash goes off. The two gaze blankly at him as he clears his throat and looks at the paramedic. "Okay, There has been a misunderstanding here. You may have saw my hand glow and heal someone, but that's crazy talk. In truth, his injuries were not that bad and you managed an amazing job patching him up. I just came over to check if the guy was still. Got it?" He faces the other man. "You got patched up real well by this gentleman here. Also that light you saw from my hands? That was a small flashlight I used to check you." He now looks at both of them. "If anybody asks, that is what happened alright? Good. Stay safe and I hope you guys have a peaceful rest of the evening."

Richard walks out of the alley and walks towards Griffin. "Si-uhh-Griffin. The witnesses have been dealt with."

Caz

@Searat@KatherinWinter
A spectral raven flew by the neighborhood and swoops down in a dark alley. The ghostly bird lands on the other side of the street as it emits an ominous aura and the temperature around the place began to turn chilly. Caz began to metamorphs into his human form as he noticed there's one drunken hobo sitting in the dark who saw and was bewildered by his transformation as if he has seen a ghost. He wickedly smiles at the old man and tosses him a coin, putting a finger on his lips signaling a 'shush' sign. The man was still dumbfounded and hasn't moved from his spot, obviously in shock by what he just witness. Caz casually passes him by paying no attention to him like nothing happened.

He went across the street and approach the vampire and the combat medic to investigating the crime scene.

"Tall, Pale, Gloomy... You must be Griffin" Caz said with a smirk. "My name is Caz, I was sent by the agency to aid with you guys just in case." He said taking off his hat as a courteous gesture. "So would you mind filling me in on what's the situation here?" He asked.

Griffin counted to one hundred before turning his attention to his partner. He was tempted to go double check the kids work. Just to make sure that he had given each person a member that made sense. But he decided that they had wasted enough time. The trail was already cold. "This is the trail the creature left tell me what you notice. And whatever you do DON'T use that damn light." He didn't know what the guys powers were but he wasn't wasn't taking any chances.

He growled when another person approached him. Griffin could only hope this one knew what he was doing but with his luck this guy would be a newbie too. "You do realize that you are supposed to appear to be a professional agent, right?" He asked the new arrival. He glared at the other man. If the agency wanted to teach him patience these to were a good way to accomplish that goal.

"To answer your question. Some creature, that hasn't been identified as of yet, created an accident. We don't know if it was on purpose or not. We need to identify the creature than we need to find the creature. Once we do that we can determine what happened and how we want to deal with it." If it was an accident they could make the police and witness reports reflect that. If it had been done on purpose the creature would be punished according to supernatural law.
