"Good things come to he who gets up and gets on with it, in my experience."

APPEARANCE
"You can stop staring now. This may come as a surprise to you, but I already know I'm missing half a leg."
The most immediately noticeable thing about Paige is that when standing, she leans on a crutch held under her right arm, which she leans on heavily. The reason that she needs this is that her right leg has a prosthetic above the knee. However, this is almost impossible to find out without asking; Paige hates her disability and wears trousers long enough to hide it as often as possible. Even so, she cannot hide the effect it has on her gait or her speed, and is utterly resentful of this fact.
Paige wears a lot of white. She naturally has pale skin and eyes, so she decided to go all-in on that aesthetic, dying her naturally brown hair to a silver-grey colour. Her clothes are generally simple but tasteful, as is the little makeup she wears. While she always does her best to hide her prosthetic with what she wears, Paige is significantly more comfortable with her upper body, and prefers a t-shirt underneath an open jacket.
Paige is not an especially talkative person. This is not born out of a desire to be unpleasant, just a dislike of conversation. Paige is not impolite, but she does not tend to initiate conversations or make any effort to perpetuate them. Paige's voice does have a slight German accent, but this is picked up from her mother as she herself never lived in Germany.
In terms of build, Paige is quite thin. As hard as she tries, she doesn't get much exercise, but doesn't eat enough for that to affect her weight. She stands at a fairly medium height, but can seem a little shorter than this as a result of her gait. She has no piercings or other scars, and her only tattoo is a simple, black treble clef symbol on her collarbone, offset slightly to her left.

PSYCHOLOGY
"Oh, that's a fun question. Most people prefer to learn by actually spending time with the person, but bluntness is cool too."
MAIN GOAL ⫻ The perfect world for Paige would see her whole again, but she recognises this is impossible - she's not delusional. Her goal is simply to be as unaffected by her disability as possible, to spit in the face of her injury and live her life as close to possible as how she did before.
PHILOSOPHY ⫻ If it's not worth working for, it's not worth doing at all. Paige doesn't believe in not doing something just because it's difficult or inconvenient. She has discovered through her additional hardships in performing relatively simple tasks just how much (or little) they are worth. Most notably, Paige has tried to learn again how to walk without a crutch, going out into the fields on the edges of Farmer Hill, taking the falls, and letting inner strength carry the day.
SECRETS ⫻ Paige is not comfortable describing how she got her injury, though to a close friend, she would be more willing to talk about it. Besides that, there isn't much; Paige is generally an honest person. She doesn't mind telling people that she has the prosthetic, if they ask, but would rather not go into much detail. She hides it more from herself than other people.
DESIRES ⫻ Firstly, Paige wants to finish with university, more to keep her parents happy than anything else. After that, maybe settle down for a few years, focus on personal development. Some day, though, Paige wants to see the world, to spend a few months travelling from place to place. Of course, that will take a lot of money, which Paige doesn't have yet. In terms of family, she would quite happily never marry throughou her life, though she wouldn't be opposed to the concept if she met the right person.
SEXUALITY ⫻ Not much thought has gone into it. If asked, Paige would describe herself as bisexual, if asked, but she's never met anyone she's been particularly interested in, nor has she known of anyone being interested in her.
FEARS ⫻ Snakes creep out Paige, but it's no phobia. As for something on a grander scale, she is afraid of always being physically limited by her injury, dreaming that one day, with enough practice and effort, she could walk properly or even run. The idea that that will never happen is what scares Paige the most.
REPUTATION ⫻ A few people know Paige, or know of her. She's only been in town a few weeks, and though she doesn't go out of her way to talk to people, those who have spoken to her will have found her polite, and amiable enough, though a bit reserved.
PET PEEVES ⫻ People who sit around all day doing nothing. The worst part is that they can stand up and run around and play tennis or soccer or whatever they want, and they don't, while she can't even though she would if she could.
QUIRKS ⫻ Paige bites her lip and looks off to her right when concentrating. Not much else.

BACKSTORY
"I'm glad my future's looking brighter than my past, 'cause hell, it's pitch black back there."
Paige is the daughter of Laura and Michael Davis. Her mother grew up in Germany, but now lives in America. She met Paige's father while attending Harvard, and several years later they married. It was in Cambridge that Paige was born and grew up.
Paige had a fairly normal early childhood. She was active, had some musical talent, and while no erudite, was getting good grades at school. Her family never had to worry about money; her parents' degrees made sure of that. Everything was going absolutely fine.
When Paige was 14, she was made a victim of collateral damage as a pair of heroin addicts robbed a store to fund their addiction. A stray bullet hit her just above her right knee. By the time she recieved medical intention, the injury was badly infected, and an amputation was the only solution.
Paige's wonderfully normal start to life fell apart after that. She suffered from depression for some time. She was the victim of bullying. Her grades dropped and she couldn't do sport. She hated what had happened to her, but there was no way to fix it.
Paige dealt with her issues the way she's learned is best: she clenched her teeth and just put up with it as best she could. Of course, she never returned to her sports, but eventually, her grades came back up. She spent her new spare time on learning to play the violin, and, after some time, she also took up archery as a hobby. Eventually, she decided to leave home, move somewhere quieter. Her parents couldn't let their child miss out on higher education, and it couldn't be just any university either. Eventually, a compromise was reached: Grand Ridge Academy wasn't Ivy League, but it was good.
Paige has only recently arrived in Farmer Hill, but so far. she's preferred it to her home city.

SKILLS & TALENTS
"What? I had, like, 8 hours of sport a week on my schedule, and suddenly I had none. I had to do something."
Ambidexterity ⫻ Paige is naturally right-handed, but, needing that hand for her crutch, she had to develop skill with her left as well, and has reached almost perfect ambidexterity.
Violin ⫻ One of the ways Paige found to fill the time after her injury. Paige is very good at playing the violin, having had a lot of time by herself with which to practice.
Archery ⫻ Another skill Paige picked up trying to fill her time. Paige has spent less time on this, and her leg affects her stance, but she's far from a beginner.

ABSTRACTION
"I suppose I'm lucky I didn't get, like, super speed, or something. This, I can do sitting down."
SIGIL & LOCATION ⫻ A blended sun and crescent moon on Paige's back, just below her neck.
ABSTRACTION ⫻ Mental Combat, a strange Abstraction which allows Paige to battle opponents on a psychic level, each combatant draining the other's energy and eventually knocking them out.
ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻ When Paige wishes to engage someone in mental combat, she focuses on them for a moment. Then, it is simply a battle of wills. Both combatants drain each other's energy through sheer desire for victory. Their focus will need to be absolutely perfect, so they can do very little physically during the battle, unless they are willing to risk losing. Only the combatant that is winning can choose to end the battle; the losing combatant must either turn the tide or accept the consequences. Nearby people can also bolster a side of their choice in a battle that is already taking place. In doing so, they can add their own willpower to the side they fight on. Alternatively, they might be antagonistic to both and fight as a third party, putting a large strain on all three. When a combatant is defeated, they are left unconscious and exhausted but otherwise unharmed. Normal people can't see the battle taking place, but Awakened, and anything else that might be able to sense auras, can see a strange light show of colourful energies moving between the combatants.
IN THE PRESENCE OF THE MOUNTAIN ⫻ Fighting mentally is much easier for Paige when close to Mount Ever Reaching. She seems to have a much larger reserve of energy, and that pool of energy feels it is being depleted more slowly while her oppoents' are more quickly. Close to the mountain, Paige could defeat two or maybe even three normal humans at once, though Awakened would still pose a significant threat.
AURA SENSING ⫻ Within thirty meters, Paige is able to detect large concentrations of effort. Whether for purposes personal or altruistic, the sacrifice of comfort to achieve a goal draws her attention.
LIMITS ⫻ The mental battlegrounds is very exhausting for Paige. The amount of combatants and the scope of the battlefield plays a part in how stressful the battle is. If the fight takes too long, Paige may pass out from exhaustion. Other than that, there's no real limit to how many people she can pull into mental combat - in addition, the Awakened are not immune to any of the effects of her abstraction.
WEAKNESSES ⫻ Once mental combat begins, both parties are rendered stationary (or close to it as possible) with little awareness of the outside world. Basically, this means that Paige and her opponent are sitting ducks. The effects of losing is a bit harsher on Paige than anyone else as it takes a toll on her body and her mind. Afterwards, Paige will be tired, and suffering from a very sharp headache.

OTHER
"I suppose there's not much left to say."
Character name | Opinion |

Jordan Nichols | Yeah, I knew this one was coming. People always mention her when they see my leg. Not that they're wrong; Jordan understands me in a way most people never will. That's not the only reason I like her either. Jordan has a lot of inner strength, a quality I have a lot of respect for. |
Kimberly Walton | Kim's an odd one. She gets along with Jordan, and she seems nice enough, but I think she could do with taking things just a little more seriously sometimes. |
Penny Lawson | Well, I don't actually have much idea what Penny's like, but she defended my life at great risk to her own. What kind of person would I be if I wasn't grateful for that? |
Caelea Baird | I wrote here before that I was afraid of becoming a liability for the group. Apparently that's happening. I barely know Caelea, and yet she's risked her life for me twice now. I'll find a way to pay her back for that, whatever it takes. |
Don't bother looking for any of these; they're the ones I noticed, so they're the ones I fixed.
