Appearance: Orek is rugged and thickly muscled though for a Dwarf, he is somewhat tall and slim. If he was man sized however, he would still be considered broad. As it stands, he has the physique of a traveler, with long limbs and a lean torso. His beard is kept short (for a Dwarf) albeit well groomed. He has grey eyes akin to wrought iron, which fit well with his granite-like vision.
Skills and Flaws:
- Pride: Orek has a long and successful ancestral track record of exploration and survival. He is very proud, and though he wouldn't call himself arrogant, he does have knowledge of the world most Dwarves do not and expects to be treated as the expert he is.
- Greed: Of course
- Tracking: He knows how to track with the best of them, even over sheer rock.
- Soldier: Has been trained, and is a disciplined combatant.
- Knowledge: He knows a fair amount of Lore, and he has delved over many old maps.
Background:
Orek's father was an explorer and guide through old mountain halls and the deep places of the world. Thraggi Brockisson, as his father Brocki Graggisson before him, was considered one of the best trackers in the hold. His mother was the daughter of one of the clan lords, though as most Dwarven women, she was about as hardy as any male. She taught him how to read the old maps and ancient dialects of their ancestors while Thraggi was away on his travels. Needless to say, Orek idolized his father, the great 'adventurer.'
Orek had a few companions among his peers that he was and is loyal to. Morek, a large Dwarf of silent disposition is one. Brocknir the hearty soldier, gruff and enjoys jokes. Braggi, a Dwarf of wild energy, though he is intensely loyal to his friends. These four often enjoy drinking together and boasting what little deeds they have done, for they are still sheltered within the halls of Thrillem. Orek also has three siblings, all younger and whom he is protective of. Ragni, Magni, and Throm.
Orek has done the best he can with what he has, training hard as a soldier and hoping one day to embark upon an expedition like his father. He doesn't have a woman, but he's had a few lovers in the past. He treats them well, but he is known for playing the field as well. That was 20 years ago however. Since then, he's realized he should find a good mate and settle down, but that has yet to happen.
