Appearance: A man of average height, sometimes slouching to appear even smaller so as not to draw attention. His pale face is defined mostly by his cleanly shaven face which sports a defined jawline and his eyes are of soothing sky blue color. He always dresses up in the best of fashion and expensive jewelry to show his wealth.

Personality: An ambitious man, however it doesn’t show. Often appearing in the background and never one to openly show his power and influence yet it is felt everywhere. From his spies, hired guards and even his relations with the emperor. While he’s a social man, he’s never one to flaunt in front of others unless it’s to prove a point or logical. Often in social affairs he’s seen as very fun and friendly with all those in attendance making him a life of the party. WIP

Equipment: A normal lavious tunic often with red or purple on it to show his power.

Skills:

• A large spy network that has been built over the years that spreads throughout much of Rome so he knows mostly of what’s going on.
• Vast amounts of wealth, from various farms and building that he’s been gifted through the glory of the emperor for his loyal service.
• Well connected, being a leading member of the Emperor’s own Consilium Principis many individuals from senators, legates, leading business officials he is offered many gifts and trusted with many important secrets and goals to pass on to the Emperor.
• Emperor’s Favor, having done so much continued service to the emperor. From being a Yes Man and pointing out enemies of the emperor he’s earned the emperor’s trust and perhaps one of his few friends.
• Self Made Man, starting from a small local farm he used his cunning and ambitions to make it in rome and amass wealth he often returns it back to the populace so that he never forgets where he came from or where he may one day return, but more importantly so the people never forget him.
• Cunning, what he lacks in brute strength he makes up for in intelligence both from his network of spies and raw learning capacity always knowing from a young age he knew more than the person next to him.

Flaws:

• Emperor’s Connection, Being a close advisor to the erratic Emperor he’s disliked by a variety of people because his power has become closely attached to him
• Weak, having never been properly taught how to fight nor even work on the farm his family owned he’s grown accustomed to having bigger,stronger and often dumber men do the dirty work and heavy lifting.

• Ambition, with ambition one will often attempt to attain everything he can which puts him always thinking ahead yet could lead to overconfidence.
• Troublemaker, often cause issues for those he dislikes or finds to be a rival that he can remove. Sometimes fixated on them to make sure they fail.
• Inferiority Complex, Because of his own status and what he was being a lower middle class he believes he must always be the smartest, and most powerful in the room and hates being outdone.

Backstory:
Vel had grown up on a small poor farm in the countryside of rome. He never liked it there, he has the ambition like those that had come before him yet had no name or power. He knew he would have to make it on his own and so on his 18th he left his family behind and went to the heart of the empire, Rome.

In Rome his life changed, he started out as a spy for minor mobs throughout the city eventually making contacts with low ranking senators and he did well for himself. Making more then ends meet he and his friends began getting stronger and richer. Eventually he worked as a spy for most of the senators spying on one another and amassed a small fortune. Yet it was at this point he realized why sell secrets when he can use them himself. He turned to politics and ran as a senator, winning in a landslide, inside the senate halls he was already well acquainted with his colleagues yet, he eventually came to meet Commodous the Emperor.

He became a loyal servant to the emperor and rooted out several rebellions before they even began yet, he came to learn that the emperor didn’t need much proof or convincing to be won and so used this against his rivals and got rid of his most powerful rivals and became ever attached to the emperor, for better or worse it was how he acquired his nickname “Et nigrarum ovium” The black sheep no doubt because he stood in with the crowd of powerful individuals he came from nothing and stood outside the norm. Yet throughout this time, he met the lovely princess Annia and has been longing for her no matter what, even going so far as to side with his emperor against her suitors and even now sides against her best interests.

Military Rank: Centurion of the 13th Legion - Frontier Scouts.

Appearance: Secundas, like many Scouts, is slightly smaller than your average Roman Legionary. He stands several inches under six feet and while smaller in stature, he does not appear to have an inch of fat on his body. His left eye is so dark a brown is it almost black, and his right, damaged in battle, has become almost milky white, his skin tanned slightly from years of exposure due to military service. Black hair is cut short on the sides with a bit of length on the top and a thin beard that comes and goes with the campaign season. Like an soldier, he has numerous scars, but none more fantastic than the ones that cross from his right forehead and down over his eye, and from below his left eye and down his cheek.

Personality: Born in the Roman Province of Hispania, Secundas is passionate with a fiery temper and quick wit. Like many Auxiliaries, he is drawn from regions of the Empire conquered in Romes distant past and still bears much of the personality his people are famous for. Strong willed, clever, and a brilliant scout, he has gone far in the Auxiliary.

Skills:

• Secundas has served in the legion for over twenty years, this shows in his skills as a horseman, scout, and fighter.
• He never asks his men to do something he wont do, and has so created a unit loyal to him.
• There is a fine line between bravery and stupidity, and he walks it on a regular basis. He leads from the front and is well known to take on the most dangerous missions himself.
• Stoic in battle, he buries his cultural passions and fiery personality, he is a cool and collected leader.

Flaws:

• He is an excellent low level tactician but has not been able to grasp the larger picture on many occasions.
• He distrusts the Romans immensely for the most part. His own troops, drawn from his native Hispania, are dear to him.
• There is no room in his life for anything other than the Auxiliary. This can make him disagreeable to those who do not serve alongside him.
