@Pyromaniacwolf That could be an interesting character! The problem I see is that pagan heretics are punished when they're outspoken, so anyone following the old gods has to be pretty discreet. There are still a lot of pagans left, but most of them are afraid of getting a knife to the throat lol. Unless your character is a roguish assassin dwelling in the Wych, maybe? Just a thought :)
@ladyanglaise I think I could make a blend of the two ideas, so he acts as more of a Druid/pagan priest when among his own but when in areas with more Christian influence he acts with more subtly and will try to secretly rally people to his cause and attempt to assassinate those who spread the word of Christianity, usually through poison or quiet means so he can state that the God's themselves struck the invaders down or something to that effect.
I do vaguely recall something like that. Something about a city in the sky, right?
I have an idea for a character. A shrewd, hard-bargaining Viking merchant who sails the eastern coast to trade. I got the idea based on a few things I researched while looking at this RP. Is that acceptable?
@bloonewb That sounds right! It was so long ago that the only thing I remember is my characters name was Cooper and the RP died about ten posts after the very first time skip. RIP in peace, lol.
I think that's an interesting idea! Feel free to DM me!
@Arya10108909That's fine if you don't know a whole lot about it yet! This will be more history inspired than historically accurate, and I'm more than happy if you just do simple Wikipedia-level searching when creating a character. I posted some links on page 2 that you might find helpful, and feel free to DM me if you have any specific questions :)
@QuasarIn this case what I mean is, while your character can't be a wizard who runs around throwing magic missile in peoples faces, magic is still a present force. It's very subtle and more ritualistic and shamanic than it would be in a straight fantasy RP, to the point where most people don't believe in it at all.
