Kaori: Alright, you can sit anywhere...
Tiane: Yaaa!
Kaori: Except my bed. It's off limits.
Tiane: Urgh...
Rayla: Why I had the feeling you would aim for the bed?
Tiane: Maybe because you don't expect much of my behavior...
Kaori: Now then, let's wait a bit for Andorina.
Ted: In the meantime...
Kaori: Hm? What book is that?
Ted: This book has information of many types of combat powers people can use.
Kaori: Oh! So you were going to use it to see if I'm a psychic or not?
Ted: Yep...I mean, we have no real reason to doubt it because of our meeting with Azura, but on the off chance that your powers might be something else, this book will gives us the right answer.
Kaori: Checking all possibilities huh? Say...if I really have psychic powers...will it be okay for me an my mom to stay here? You know...I might be targeted again...
Tiane: I'm pretty sure you would be moved to the world crossers guild, at least for protection. Unless of course, if you want to fight, you'll probably be able to choose where you want to be, but I don't see that happening so soon, so you won't be seeing the sun for a while.
Kaori: I see...Just asking because my everyday life is at risk. I can't be picky with my freedom if it means I'll still be safe from harm.
Rayla: I know what you mean...Wanting to preserve that kind of life...
Andorina: I'm back with cake and some refreshments.
Ted: Just in time, I just found the section that talks about Psychic Powers.
Andorina: Okay. I'll put the plate here in the middle. You guys pick which slice you want, but make sure to leave some for Ted since he'll be busy reading.
Everyone nods and starts to pick up their slices. Meanwhile, Ted starts to read the book.

Ted: "In the many worlds of this multiverse, it has been observed that psychic powers can take on many different forms and concepts, some even overlaping with other types of energy manipulation. They range from simple manipulation of objects to reality warping. Thus, making it hard to define what exactly can be called psychic energy or something else, each world having a different meaning for said power."
Tiane: This is not a good start...

Tiane: That would take too long...Can't he just skim through it and head over to the part that says what kind of abilities are common between these powers...Or better yet, since it says that there's different types of psychic powers, maybe it has some kind of map in there that shows which world has them and find the info of our world from there.
Ted: You know...that's a very good idea.
Rayla: A good idea that was born out of her impatience.
Tiane: I get easily lost with long paragraphs, even though I'm smart right now.
Ted: Now then...If I remember correctly.
He bookmarks the section about Psychic Powers and heads back to the section of the book about EXS, hoping to find some kind of codename of their world.
Ted: Here it is...Serena|MuhenWo α-01, or SRN|MWα-01 for short.
Tiane: Isn't that the surname of the guildmaster?
Rayla: Yes...but It's just a coincidence. (A really strange one...)
Kaori: Still, it's interesting that worlds are named after people as well.
Ted: Agreed...Now, back to the issue at hand.
Ted returns to the part about psychic powers, then starts to skim through the pages until he finds anything about the code he just memorized.

Unus Mundus Plays Again From The Beginning**
Ted: Continuing...*ahem* "In this particular world, psychic abilities are still something new, but traces of it have been showing up since the past century. An organization known as Sumeragi Group had been researching and documenting these occurences of psychic ability between humans. It is believed that this is in fact, humanity evolving over the years. They have earned the name of Psyccer Adepts, and in recent years, there has been many more and more humans confirmed as having psychic abilities. However, due to their lack of knownledge of said powers, more often their not, the awakening of their powers usually causes terrible accidents...
Rayla: (Reeta...)
Tiane: (And, I'm reminded of that Mana girl...)
Kaori: I'm guessing part of the reason all these kidnapings are happening is because...
Tiane: Hold your horses. They just want to use them to make weapons. I'm sure they're not here for damage control. This glaive is a proof of it. Besides, if they really cared about it, I'm sure they would've asked nicely.
Kaori: Well...what do you think Mister Jerry?
Suddenly, the door opens and Jerry enters the room.
Jerry: It's not that simple.
Ted: Whoa! (How did she knew he was there?)
Jerry: Sorry for eavesdroping, but I was sure this topic would be brought up, so I decided to stick around.
Tiane: Well then...tell us what you know.
Jerry: Let's just say that the Adepts like their freedom. According to "him", there has been many instances of violent Psychiccers resisting arrest, and this has caused a quite bit of stress to the population. It's quite small right now, but with the increasing number of Psychic Users, a boiling point is sure to be hit and these secret groups won't have other alternative than to rage war against the Adepts in order to..."control" them.
Rayla: And I'm just imagining this war will be indiscriminate to both good and bad Adepts.
Jerry: Exactly...And this is the possibly one of the worst timings ever...because, you know, the crisis the city is having.
Kaori: So even if the mysterious group is somehow defeated, in the near future, I'll no longer have my peace because of people who refuse to restrain their powers?
Jerry: ...That's right...Their mistrust of Sumeragi, plus the hate and despair of the population, plus the violent tactics that these secret groups might employ will be equal to a disaster worse than we could possibility imagine...
Kaori: ...I see...
Ted: Kaori...
Kaori: Continue reading Ted...I want to get this over with...
Ted: Right...where was I?
Jerry: Terrible accidents.
Ted: Okay...found it..**ahem** The next part says that the Psychic powers of this world comes in many varieties, having abilities that might rival Ancestor Mages in versatility. However, there are traits that are common between these variations. Adepts have enhanced senses, reflexes, photographic memory and manipulation of their psychic aura. Despite the variety in abilities, some of the more elaborate ones are rarer to spot. These are called Septima-Type Adepts. Their powers range from
single elemental manipulation,to
magnetism, creation of
wormholes, flight and
reanimating the dead...though, it's not true ressurection. The rarest ability of Septima-Type Adepts being electricity.
Rayla: ...
Tiane: Feeling a bit jealous because they have more variations?
Rayla: I don't know what you're talking about... (I can't even teleport a person to my location without using too much energy and then there's people that can create wormholes?)
Ted: And then...
Jerry: There's the Common-Type Psychiccers. While they can't warp reality like the Septima-Types, they aren't less dangerous thanks to their capacity to easily memorize anything, making any investiment on their physical trainning rewarding in the long run, as they would easily accumulate combat experience. They also can still stabilish psychic links with other Psychic Users and that can be exploited to activate systems that are far away from the user's location. Something like this.
Suddenly, some kind of wormhole appears near Jerry, he puts his hand inside and pulls a small knife.
Jerry: While common people have to rely on a remote to activate the warp weapon system, people like me can only activate it with just a thought. The system will capture my brainwaves and open up a hole for me to pick up a weapon of my choosing.
Rayla: So that's the power you've been hiding.
Jerry: I couldn't exactly say what it is in front of the police officers...Anyway, did you get all that Kaori?
Kaori: Yes. Every part of it.
Jerry: Good to know....Here's your reward.
All of a sudden, Jerry throws the knife he was holding at Kaori, it missed her and hit the bet instead.
Tiane: WAH!
Ted: What do you think you're doing?
Rayla: Explain yourself before I make you.
Jerry: C'mon guys, do you really think I would kill someone as I was tasked to protect? Kaori, can you tell us what happened in this split second?
Kaori: Right...When Jerry suddenly threw the knife, I could easily guess that it would miss me, so I didn't move. It is as if my sixth sense was telling me I was in no danger at all. (However, that put a hole in my bed...how am I going to explain this for mom when she finds out?)
Ted: You saw the trajectory in that small time frame? That's amazing!
Rayla: I see...I usually can catch bullets and thrown them back at people depending of the distance, but I have the feeling you would be able to guess where they are aiming before they can even shoot.
Jerry: Now, then, what is left to know is whether or not she's either a Septima-Type or Common-Type...Though, I'm not sure how to figure that out...I guess she needs to experiment with her powers first? "He" would be able to tell.
Kaori: Again with this "he" and "him"...Not a lot of people like playing the pronoum game.
Jerry: I know...but it's for security reasons...heck, I shouldn't even be discussing this with you guys under normal circusntances. We're all in a closed room, so there's no way someone else can hear us unless they at the door or the window.
There is a moment of silence, they look at each other, then they start to check the window and the door. There was no one else listening.
Jerry: Now then...I'll take my leave...
Kaori: Before that...I believe you should take this back...
She throws the knife back to Jerry, who easily catches it with his two fingers. He smiles at the group, then leaves the room.
Kaori: So...I'm a Psychic User after all...All those weird feelings...were really just my enhanced senses playing tricks on me...My mental health is just fine...just my powers that are the problem...
Andorina: Kaori...
Ted: ...
Rayla: From now on, you choose what you want to do with those powers. We aren't going to force you to join or cause...
Tiane: But just in case you do, just give us a call.
Andorina: I'm not sure she'll do that...Kaori can't even hurt a fly, let alone someone else...kinda like Ted...
Kaori: Ted is at least willing to fight when he has no choice...I'm not even sure if I would do that...
Andorina: Oh...
Kaori: Don't forget to eat your part of the cake Ted.
Ted: R-Right...Almost forgot...
He picks up a slice of the cake and starts eating it. The room went silent once more, although this time, it didn't look like someone was going to say something. These revelations were a lot for Kaori to take in.
