Appearance: Baradiel, unlike most of his brethren who look youthful, takes the form of a middle-aged man with a well built physique. He has a mop of dark brown hair sitting atop his head which he rarely maintains unless they're meeting with some higher ups and he needs to actually look presentable. He has chocolate brown eyes that often expresses boredom more than anything else, but always seems to soften up when it comes to being with his charges - especially with Alice. His face, when he makes no effort, always has this bored look on his face that tells you that you shouldn't cross him or else you'd pay... even if he's just listing off some groceries he needs to buy for the peerage. He also has a scar on his right brow which he had gotten in a nasty fight with some rogue devils before.

Baradiel stands at a tall and imposing height of 6'3" and he always stands straight so he seems even taller. While you wouldn't say he is heavy built, you would definitely think that he lifts frequently to keep his body like that. His clothing seems to be a variation of semi-casual clothing, flannel, simple shirts and whatever he can buy that's cheap. He isn't one for dress up unless extremely needed.

Baradiel, as a Fallen Angel, has six black wings that he had carried over from his time as a warrior during the Great War. He typically doesn't show all six, instead using simply two to trick those around him. Baradiel very rarely uses his devil wings. If he decides to push himself, his brown hair turns ebony black and his brown eyes become violet - making it obvious that he keeps up the illusion to hide his identity.

Familiar:

Kouta - A beautiful white furred wolf. Kouta, as the others, appeared as a small version of a wolf. However, he is often allowed to roam around in normal size as long as he didn't bring harm to those that are part of the peerage. While he seems normal at first, Kouta has the ability to change his size at will - and has been shown to grow to the size of ten feet on all fours. It has been speculated that he can grow bigger.

He acts as a guard to Baradiel when he starts sniping. With sharp senses, it was hard to trick or sneak up to the wolf. Kouta also acts as transport for the peerage if they were too tired though seems to prefer having Alice as his rider, if not his master.

Bio: Baradiel has quite the history. Being a millenia old does that. An original angel himself, he has served God of the Bible loyally for many centuries. He trained with the others, happily, though he noted time and time again that he hasn't changed all that much since becoming a Devil. There isn't much to note of in his time in Heaven. Though he does remember it fondly and often seems somber when talking about it. When he was dubbed the Angel of Hail and Ice, he did his work well.

When the Great War had transpired, Baradiel fought valiantly with his brothers and sisters against the Devils and the Fallen Angels. Though it was regrettable when God of the Bible had perished during this time, and it left Baradiel in a worse state than the others. But perhaps it was because his control over himself had been linked to his creator - the want to please him was the only thing that stopped him from falling. It only took a nudge from the Fallen Angels to make Baradiel fall and thus another Fallen Angel was created.

Baradiel was loosely affiliated with the Grigori. He worked for them, but mostly hunts down other Fallen Angels who were trying to create more conflict within Earth which Azazel wasn't happy about. Baradiel doesn't seem to be too bothered with this and lived among the humans without a problem, now free from most restrictions when he was an Angel. His encoutners with these humans made him learn a lot of things. Certainly a lot better than watching them from up above.

After quite a long time, Baradiel bit off more than he could chew when he tracked down a group of Rogue Devils that was desecrating a church. As his own fight was nearing its end with him on the losing side, a devil peerage had come to also defeat the Rogue Devils, aiding the Fallen Angel. However, Baradiel succumbed to his wounds after the fight. Alice's father had decided to ressurect Baradiel as his Bishop, seeing the Fallen Angel's skill in battle. Originally thinking that Baradiel would be angry with this, Alice's father had set up precautions to keep Baradiel under check.

But he did not fight. Baradiel accepted his fate and became part of his peerage, much to his surprise. Baradiel frequently muses, happily, that he has gone through the three factions in his entire life. Baradiel served him loyally as well and did his best to impress. That's just how it was with the Fallen Angel turned Devil. Baradiel became a sort of secretary to Alice's father, as opposed to his second-in-command, the Queen.

Interestingly enough, Alice's father appointed Baradiel to another Devil - his own daughter. Baradiel then spent most of his time with the baby Alice to protect her. He was passed down like some form of family heirloom. However, Baradiel took care of the baby like it was his own child and was protective of her. He watched her grow up, until she obtained the Evil Pieces of her own. This allowed her to finally make the contract with Baradiel and he was then transferred officially to Alice's peerage. He continued to watch and care for Alice, as both her Bishop and her Guardian. He often helps her with whatever he can when she started to make her peerage grow.

Though he was most certainly surprised when Allocer, Alice's brother, and his wife decided to go on a vacation - leaving both areas in two entirely different continents to Alice. This caused the workload to practically double. Baradiel wonders what is going through Allocer's mind during this time, but he knew he could do nothing about it. And so, he continued to serve Alice and protect her from the dangers of this place.

Appearance:

Alfonse wears appearances like clothes- each illusion carefully crafted, each part an express purpose. Manipulating his appearance is as simple as breathing after all these years but doesn't often use it daily, other than to darken his reds eyes to black. Each black hair on his head is kept neatly combed and parts, face shaved clean, nearly always dressed in a suit and tie, and shoes with a mirror like quality. Any deviance from his well groomed standards is almost certainly an illusion.

He accessorizes simply, a watch, ring, and earring on the right ear in either gold or silver depending on his suit. He keeps a pair of half moon reading glasses in his breast pocket. His favorite thing to do while reading reports is to randomly stare at people judgmentally over the rims of his glasses until they start babbling.

Alfonse always makes a point to smile, no matter how upset he is at a situation. His true feelings always surface later in private, generally expressed through some sort of food.

Evil Piece: Queen

Familiar:

Narti – A large crow, Narti demands attention and grooming daily. She enjoys perching on her master's shoulder while he reads and tends to stash shiny things she finds in random places for other members of the peerage to find. Alfonse can see through Narti's eyes when she is away from him.

Magic:

Shadowmancy: Manipulating the semi-tangible manifestation of shadows, the Corrumpi clan can create and manipulate shadows into a variety of forms ranging from tendrils to shadow fire. The technique is most notably used to infuse this shadow material into spells, altering their form and function in a process called Corruption. Although the spells are undeniably stronger, their original function may cease and the corrupted version costs additional magic.

Mind Delve: A spell requiring constant eye contact, this allows Alfonse to peruse through the thoughts and memories of a subject. The subject seems to fall into a trance while under the spell's effect. Those with stronger magic auras or unusually strong wills can struggle against and even shrug off the magic if they catch it being used,


Illusion: Alfonse manipulates the senses of those around him as easily as breathing, Most notably used to alter his appearance to fool those he has Mind Devlved, Alfonse can create and maintain larger illusions with relative ease.


Barrier: Alfonse can erect a variety of magical barriers, costing more magic the larger they are.


Teleport: Alfonse can move himself and other members of the peerage instantaneously.


Flight: Alfonse's devil wings allow him to fly when necessary.

Languages: As a Devil, he can speak, read, and understand every language he comes into contact with.

Skills:

Diplomacy: Alfonse learned the art of diplomacy,and all the manners and tact involved, from the knee of a member of the royal household of England. He personally prefers the intimate settings of dinner tables and formal parties, where subtly and words sting far more than swords and spells.

Cooking: While attempting to hide from his lessons as a child, Alfonse found the kitchen to be a consistent haven. He grew up watching, and eventually learning from, the chefs in the royal kitchen and continues to hone his skill. Its especially useful as a stress reliever.

Bio:

Alfonse was born just as his mother took over as head of the Corrumpi clan. Her father died suddenly at the hand of an overly enthusiastic vampire and while the clan as a whole were shocked, the fallen angels that encouraged the situation sowed the seeds of discord in the resulting vacuum. In order to maintain order, his mother Eleanor passed him down to her Queen, the resurrected member of the British royal household. Eleanor made temporary appearances in his life for the next twelve years but clan business always demanded her attention far too quickly.

When her Queen accepted him as her ward, he followed her around like a duckling. She brought him to her home and raised him like her own, claiming he was a nephew from a relative on the other side of her former marriage. He was taught everything from history to etiquette, maths to literature. Magic was his favorite subject however and he displayed a natural talent for it. His teacher, originally delighted, ruefully acknowledged teaching a seven year old with a predisposition for disappearing from his lessons would have been easier if illusion magic was taught later. He often created duplicates of himself so he could hide away in the kitchen and easy pastries the cooks snuck him.

On his thirteenth birthday, Eleanor returned with the family firmly under her heel and reclaimed guardianship of her son. From there, he refined his Shadowmancy, the family's specialty magic, and mental magics while continuing his education. Eleanor kept him by her side almost constantly, having him take notes and keep watch as she went around the clan business. She polished and perfected his manners and instilled a rigid sense of discipline and responsibility. Over the next decade, Alfonse would learn to regard Eleanor as his superior rather than his mother.

Just before his twentieth birthday, the Corrumpi suffered a staggering loss of members as the fallen angels launched a massive counter attack. With the loss of just less than half the family, Eleanor decided the family needed to fall back into the shadows and hide inside other groups. Eleanor directed most of the family to fade into mortal society fully or disappear within the confines of another devil family until a more appropriate time. So she turned her eyes back to Devil society in search of another noble family. She succeeded in finding and seducing a suitable target but got caught up in her own game and fell for the man instead. Alfonse had a suspicion the man she chose was fully aware of her objective but seeing that it completed the objective, he chose not to interfere.

With the merging of the two families, Alfonse was given to Alice as part of the arraignment. His mother commanded him serve, support, and, behind closed doors, evaluate Alice and her methods with the intent to report upon their return.

Appearance: Desmond's appearance very much is indicative of his relative youth compared to more senior demons. His routine shaving of any facial hair that sprouts on his face also assists in keeping up this appearance. Rich, black hair is constantly being cut to a short length but other than that his hair is not styled in any particular fashion. Desmond is hardly expressive so most of the time he holds a deadly serious look to him. This is accentuated by the striking crimson colored eyes he possesses, the color resembling deep pools of blood.

He is considerably tall at 6'2", standing above most of his compatriots. This height is accompanied by a slim frame but muscular frame, usually hidden by Desmond's preference of longer clothing...which consists almost entirely of red and black colors. The specific reason for his preference of longer clothing is the numerous scars that run over the course of his body. The ones on the chest have been somewhat covered by tattoos but the scars on his legs and arms are clearly visible when wearing shorter clothing. When he does show his demon wings, there is one missing from his set of two.

Evil Piece:
Familiar:
A raven black as Desmond's hair, Edgar came to Desmond by landing on his right shoulder when it was his time to receive a familiar. Edgar serves as Desmond's third eye, giving him additional situational awareness and alerting him to dangers when in combat. Edgar's greatest asset however is his ability to transform into a swarm of identical Ravens that can obscure or interfere with Desmond's opponent. The greatest number Edgar has been observed transforming into was one-hundred ravens.

Magic:

• Pyrokinesis
  A majority of Desmond's magic involves the manipulation of fire, everywhere from imbuing his sword with flame or shooting fire bolts. His control over his kind of magic is absolute.
  
  • Black Flame:
    Desmond's final trump card if he is in a dire situation. A wreath of black flame with golden edges envelops Desmond, increasing his phsyical abilities by great amounts and providing more powerful versions of his spells. Unlike his normal fire magic, Desmond has very little control over this. Once activated, it is difficult for him to turn it off and will shortly kill him if on for too long.
• Shadow Dash:
  Black shadows wash over Desmond's form allowing him to near-instantly move in any direction several feet, appearing as teleportation to those whose vision is not up to par. If used to often, Desmond will become highly disoriented and unsteady
• Minor Regeneration:
  A result of his father's experimentation, Desmond is able to heal his wounds a lot faster naturally and often will not need to be healed. The healing costs him energy and takes a few minutes to properly seal a wound.
• One-Winged Flight:
  Despite missing an entire wing, Desmond has learned to live with it. A constant, rigorous training allowed him to fly just as well as if he had two.
• Phase:
  An ability that Desmond very much despises having for the feeling he gets after using it, Phase allows Desmond to very briefly make his body intangible to psychical objects After use, he gets a incredible headache and in a few rare cases throws up
  
  • Phase Touch:
    A technique that allows Desmond to use Phase on objects or people. His grasp of this ability is at the moment very inconsistent
• Blood Shield
  Perhaps by far Desmond's most grisly magic spell, Blood Shield is something he gained through his father's experimentation. Simply put, It allows him crystallize nearby pools of blood and charge it with magic to make it into a strong, yet brittle armor.
  
  • Blood Weapon: An extension of Blood Shield, this spell turns the blood into a crude weapon instead. It maintains the same brittleness as Blood Shield, and is hardly an substitute for normal weapons.

• Tactician
  Despite his young age, Desmond is an expert on reading the battlefield and coming up with a plan to win. Off the battle-field, he is also good at figuring out the most best solution towards navigating an obstacle or puzzle.
• Observant:
  Anything that seems out of the ordinary will likely be picked up by Desmond, whether it has to with the surroundings or another person. For this reason, he is secretly a bit of a clean freak.
• Endurance:
  Nothing to do with his defense, Desmond can last a lot longer doing strenuous activities without it affecting his overall performance.

Sacred Gear: ƛƤƤԼЄ ƠƑ ЄƊЄƝ
The Apple of Eden, at least named by his Father, is a obvious reference to the apple of knowledge that both Eve and Adam ate from and as a result loss their grace with God. Before Desmond's fight and escape from his father, Lucius believed he had crack the puzzle that was this Sacred Gear. Now unknowingly combined with Desmond, it is a dangerous weapon if used by an untrained individual.

When activated, the Apple of Eden grants the user knowledge of a large list of potentially destructive and dangerous spells. This takes an incredible toll on the user's body and would outright kill a normal human if used, normally preventing any kind of advanced movement. There is a secondary effect evidenced in Lucius's notes that suggests it can briefly take the user to a 'advanced form' in reference to Angels, Fallen Angels, and Devils.
Bio:
Desmond has suffered a lot in the short period of time in which he was alive. He was born to two high-level devils named Lucius and Malaya, the only child they ever conceived together. His childhood was mostly good considering how everything would later turn out, as his father was a brilliant scholar and warrior while his mother was a outstanding mage. Lucius never spoke of what he had done in the war between the angels, fallen angels, and devils but neither did his mother. While his mother tried to teach him more powerful forms of magic, it was in sword-play that Desmond truly excelled. Everything changed however when his father obtained a strange and ancient device, even for divine beings.

It appeared to be an ornate sphere of intricate design, the gears visible along the surface indicated there was a mechanism to unlock it. Lucius became convinced that it contained some kind of immense power of unknown design....and he was right. Desmond soon became the victim of Lucius's obsession as he tried to create a vessel that would be able to withstand combining with it. Through countless hours of torturing training, Desmond became a cold-hearted soldier of destruction. Lucius would often send his perfect soldier off to hunt down rogue devils as a test to see how far Desmond progressed. It was never enough however and soon scars began to build on Desmond's body, unable to be healed by even his talented mother.

Malaya could not stand seeing Desmond being put through these punishing ordeals and confronted Lucius. The aftermath of their conflict was bloody with Lucius standing over the corpse of his mother. That was the first time Desmond activated his black flame and attacked Lucius, managing to severely wound him before having to flee. Once he reached the human realm, he was attacked by opportunistic fallen angels because unknown to him Lucius's experiment had succeeded. Utilizing the last of his energy fighting with his Black Flame, he managed to defend himself until Alice and her household arrived. Shortly after they secured the area, Desmond collapsed where he stood having been drained of life by the Black Flame. Desmond pledged his upmost loyalty to Alice upon his revival as her knight, willing to sacrifice everything to protect her.
