I all too often come to forget just how much has been learned or understood in my lifetime alone. Recalling pieces of information I had lost for a time but we're never truly lost. I suppose that is a useful quality, to have knowledge of a wide variety of disciplines and categories with a chance to recall their information when needed.
You are not kidding, bro. I am reminded of this daily.

At some point I believe one begins to learn so much that they begin to forget that they have learned at all. It is all there, very much so, but it is buried somewhere. While not often something that can be called on at whim as it is not accessed often, the context and scenario bring it out, @Gunther. That is generally my experience with it at this point.

It is all there somewhere, wedged together and part of this larger puzzle, but ask of me to show all of what I know? The question then becomes, "What exactly do you want to know?" because there is too much to divulge and some of it is seemingly lost to me until the circumstances make it possible to recall it top of mind. It is a bizarre phenomena, punctuated most when it comes to a situation where I believe I am aware of the answer yet remain seemingly uncertain of it because it seems distant. It could well be a mirage of the mind, though consistently that is rare.

The beautiful thing is that, the more knowledge you gain; whether by living it or reading it, you begin to see a clearer picture of what is going on around you. I can interpret history based on personal experiences combined with reading about how other people approached the same thing. I am in my 50s now and gain that same feeling of forgetting things I learned decades ago. But the simplest little thing reminds me. It all comes flooding back like some data dump in a computer file that hasn't been accessed in just as many decades.

On top of my caffeine and gaming addictions, I'm pretty sure I'm addicted to instant ramen. *starts crushing noodles and flavoring into fine powder*

Relatively simple or small things can and do make me irrationally angry, especially when they are repeated and over a long term with no alternative presenting itself. I reason that what makes me most inflamed about such scenarios is that no matter what I do the struggle and the effort put forth is meaningless or made irrelevant by some other issue or problem. Mind you these are small issues and the anger is often disproportionate, hence why I have had to take such extensive steps to never be roused at all. It still is particularly irksome in an uncanny way how little things do bother me so and what unusual willpower it takes for me to turn blind eye to them.

Yeah I got it as a child and am still sensitive to it, not that I get it every year or something but to the point that I suspect I get it instead of getting sick in a more serious way.

Of all subjects I was pressed into learning, mathematics was the one I despised the most. It all seemed like needless busywork thought up by those with far too much time on their hands, even worse that it still has yet to be of much practical application in any portion of my life; at least other disciplines have been. I am continually reminded of this whenever it is brought up.

For me, math was as simple as breathing; too easy.

Even when left to my own devices I am seeking out some way to improve something, often myself. Generally this manifests as educational pursuit relative to my own interests or some sort of fitness application. Just what I am preparing myself for or even why eludes me other than the pervasive knowledge that I need better myself in every facet and capacity so that I might provide more for others. It becomes a point of obsession at times, trying to get to the reasons why just as much as those things worth doing.

Last night was the third stripe test of the cycle. I earned a blue stripe on my 1st degree black belt. We tested on a strike set we have been training for the past three months as well as several head lock defenses including two ground defenses and one involving a shoulder roll. It was exhausting but fun. Constantly improving.

I go down the most random rabbit trails whenever I have internet and the slightest bit of curiosity. Unfortunately this will likely involve TV Tropes and/or Know Your Meme, which means I can get distracted for hours.
