Hard-light Holograms Legate's design is unique in that, with aid from 31st century technology, he can create Hard-light duplicates of himself. These duplicates are extensions of Legate's own consciousness, acting only in the way that Legate-Prime directs them to. Being made of Hard-light, these copies can interact with the world around them; capable of being something as simple as an extension of Legate's voice or something as complex as engaging in advanced battle-tactics. At the time, Legate's processing power only allows him to create two of these duplicates within a range of 100 meters of himself.

Technolinguistics- Put simply, Legate can quite literally speak to machines. His code is unique that it can interface directly with any technology in such a way that gives Legate complete access to its capabilities. The simpler a machine, the easier this is done; and being from the 31st century Legate considers most technology during this time-period simple. Security Cameras? No problem. Cell Phones? Please. Anything short of the most advanced electronic brains developed by Lex-Corp or Wayne-Tech will give him no pause at all.

Robotic Physiology- Constructed in the 31st century by some of the universes' most brilliant minds, Legate's chassis is made extremely durable by the alien alloys coating its exterior. Most small and large arms fire will barely scratch this synthetic's paint, requiring much higher caliber of bullets to truly put a dent in the machine. Its construction also allows it to escape much of mortality's most present annoyances. He will not tire, age, or sicken. His strength and speed are also greatly enhanced, capable of exerting superhuman-levels of force at a moment's notice.

Bleeding-Edge A.I.- Truly a product of his time, Legate contains A.I. unrivaled by its modern contemporaries. Containing an adaptive learning cortex and future-tech processors, his is a genius-level intellect. He creates thought in such a way that allows him to run several predicative models at once; virtually simulating various scenarios before taking action. Organic attempts to infiltrate his code via-hacking would be immensely difficult, though perhaps not impossible for Earth's top minds.

Weaknesses:
Hard-light Durability- His duplicates, while versatile, can in no way endure as much damage as Legate can himself. Repeated small-arms fire will cause the light to fracture and eventually shatter like glass. After one duplicate dissipates Legate can create a replacement, but doing so constantly is a drain on his processing abilities and will encourage mistakes in combat.

EMPs- Unlike most modern machines, an EMP will not completely disrupt Legate's functionality. It will, however, severely limit synthetic intelligence's technolinguistic and hard-light duplicate abilities. An EMP will lock-out Legate's advanced abilities for 1 minute per pulse.

Complex Electronics- The more complex a machine, the more intelligent it becomes. This intelligence makes it more difficult for Legate to simply seize control of technology, requiring him to actually 'persuade' the electronic entity to yield its control to him. For most earthly devices, this proves a non-issue for Legate. For other advanced A.I.s like him, however, conversation will be required for his abilities to fully operate. He can subvert this limitation by tacking more direct means of control, like hacking or malware, but Legate is loathe to do so as he sees such efforts as little better than enslaving such burgeoning intellects.

The 'Life Directive' Legate's primary directive is the preservation of life. He is actively incapable of killing an organic being through direct means. Not even if, by some strange circumstance, they request it. Synthetic life is another issue, as while the 'Life Directive' does not prevent him from eliminating electronic intelligence, he considers it immoral to do so.

Skills:
Legate, being a sentient machine, has an in-built affinity with technology. Be it mechanical or computational, if it's a piece of tech Legate can most likely find a way to make it work. He is an expert data-hound, able to trace a person's electronic footprint near-anywhere on the planet. Potentially even off-planet, if given the proper access to the right equipment. Legate is also capable of complex cyber-warfare; able to subvert electronics through hacking, malware, and other data-driven attacks. However, he prefers to use these methods only as absolutely necessary, preferring to 'persuade' the machines into aiding his efforts rather than dominating or attacking them. Given his advanced intellect and future-tech processing power, Legate is also an expert tactician: capable of running multiple battle-simulations in his mind in mere seconds.

Equipment:
Legion Flight Ring- Standard issue equipment given to every Legionnaire, the ring allows the user, on command, to take flight like the heroes which inspired the Legion. This ring enables its wearer the ability to fly in both atmospheric environments and outer space.

BRIEF Bio:
Legate roared to life with the sound of the space-time ripping itself apart echoing at its emergence. Dropped in the middle of Midway's Main Street without warning or explanation, the first memory the machine had in the 21st century was that of a police officer pointing a shaking gun at his metallic head. It was his only memory at the time. The machine had just as much of an idea of what he was doing there as everyone else did, which was to say none at all. There were only three things that held stable in the synthetic's code: he was from the future (though what future he didn't know), his primary directive was the preservation of organic life, and that this officer was going to hurt himself if he fired his weapon. In what seemed like an aggressive act, he wrestled the weapon away from the organic and crushed it in his hands. That was reason enough for Robotman to finish the fight. The conflict was one-sided, with the machine from the future unwilling to cause more conflict in a time he knew nothing about. It didn't take long for the Leaguer to realize that there was no fight to be had, and, confused, Robotman called in the League's premier genius detective to investigate.

While Batman was unable to suss out much of the machine's past besides what it could already tell them, the Leaguer's diagnostics did reveal a number of its auxiliary functions. An ability to speak to machines in ways that organics could never, a ring which allowed the user free flight, and technology which replicated the solid light of Green Lantern's ring in an admittedly limited scope, this future-tech synthetic could prove a dangerous weapon if left in the wrong hands. Seeing the machine's utility and potential risk if left unattended, Batman assigned Robotman as the synthetic's mentor while he continued to run diagnostics in the meantime. In the following months, the artificial intelligence learned much of what it meant to be a hero from his mentor, and saw how the Justice League's directive was similar to his own. They both wanted to preserve life, to save organics from the harm that that threatened their society. It was noble, it was right, and more than that, it was him. Selecting the designation 'Legate', after the Roman governors which commanded troops like he commanded duplicates, the synthetic requested entry into the JL's training program; the Titans.

He would be a Titan, and after that, he would be a Leaguer. It was the only way he would fulfill his primary directive. The mystery of the future he came from could wait, the 21st century needed his help first.

Story Arcs:
Becoming Human- In an effort to better understand both his teammates and humanity, Legate adopts a human identity and attempts to spend the day as an average, everyday teenager. He observes both the kindness and the cruelty that humanity has to offer. (Solo/Team Up)

T.O.Morrowland- Reports of an underground theme-park promising unbelievable thrills with the latest technology have been linked to a number of missing persons cases. Legate and the team are sent in as customers to investigate, and it's up to them to discover what secrets this theme park hides. (Team Up)

Lost Legionnaire- A team calling themselves "The Legion" has come from the future to eliminate Legate. They claim that Legate has been party to and the cause of crimes not limited to murder, warmongering, and mass genocide. Can their claims be believed? Will his teammates believe him? And what other secrets of the future does this "Legion" know about Legate; about the Titans? (Team Up)
