Sit down, sigh and relax in the beanbag chair. It's got a hole in the side so don't shift too much. Need a light? Take a long drag from that cigarra and listen close, boy. It's the year 2175, and god has forsaken us. You've missed a lot in your cryosleep, but don't worry, the brain fog will wear off eventually. Probably. Let me catch you up while you rest. Strange how tired sleeping for a hundred'n'fifty years will make you feel.

Remember that president you hated? Nothing he did really mattered. But the one after him? Mind mannered and a real smooth talker, talked us right into world war three he did. The Elves stood on the sidelines and watched the Orcs 'n us humans get into a big fight with the Orcs 'n humans on the other side of the globe. Ten years and about a billion people dead, shook the earth man. No one wanted war anymore, so when the elves stepped in and brought about peace in 2038, people were relieved. A few dudes say they saw what was coming next happen, but no one believed them, and eventually they stopped speaking up after a few self inflicted gunshot wounds to the back of the head. Suicide, they always get ruled suicide.

Elves took over everything. Course it wasn't obvious, most companies looked like they were run by humans, maybe a lucky orc or two, but mostly humans. However, every company always linked back to a parent or an owner company, something small in an island nation, always run by elves. Elves make up the majority of council members on corporate boards, Elves make up the majority of world leaders, Elves make up the majority of everything important, and the rest of us fill their ranks as workers.

You'd probably label me a conspiracy theorist back in your day, but today that shit's just history. Elves don't even care anymore if you talk about it, cause they knew you couldn't do anything about it. Show's how much they know. War's coming again man. We ain't had a war since the great world war three, but there's a new one on the horizon. Rumor has it there's an Orc Magi on the rise. Unbelievable, right? That's what I thought too! Ain't been an Orc Magi in hundreds of years. The statistics are like one in a billion for Orcs, one in a million for humans, and one in a thousand for elves.

Now this new Orc Magi, he ain't joining the academy for elves oh no sir. He's fixing to become the new Dark Lord. He's apparently gathering an army of Orcs and Humans, plans on leading a race war against Elves. Elves be having none of it, of course, but there are too many Orcs and humans now getting in on this for them to publicly start moving against them without risking triggering the conflict. Even small arrests of cells is starting riots. Shit be crazy man.

Now, you should rest, I'm headed to the Dark Lord rally in the speaker's square this afternoon. Hells yeah I'll be supporting the Dark Lord, it's about time someone put the elves back in their place, in the ground.

--------------------------------

Premise-
It's the year 2175, and the race war is about to start. It's been nearly a 150 years since the world had a world war, and even the elves have begun to forget the horrors of the original war. The Dark Lord leads an army from the underground to eradicate the High Elves ruling the world. Magic exists, but is mysterious, powerful, and rare. Elves rule the world as they possess the majority of magic users, 'Magi' as they're called, but their Magi are not nearly as powerful as Human and Orc Magi. Human Magi are assassinated wherever they are found by the Elves, and no one's ever seen an Orc Magi.

But now, as technology reaches a peak with sentient machines, flying cars, and terraforming worlds in our solar system, magic appears to finally be taking a backseat as humans have a chance to rise against the Elves with their intelligence. Orcs, having been suppressed for centuries, have finally had enough, and are eager to rise against the Elves with their strength and new leader. Minorities such as Centuars, Trolls, Dark Elves, and Dwarves take a backseat to the big three and will doubltessly be caught up in the storm of destruction. In these troubling times, what side of the conflict will you find yourself on?

Roles-
Feasibly? Anything you can think of. You could be an Orc rallying in the streets under the banner of the Dark Lord, or a human trying to hide their insanely rare magic from the elves, or a disenfranchised elf who's not really sure of himself but has no choice but to fight for survival in a hostile world, or even a machine given sentience whose deceased masters leave him wandering and looking for purpose. The choices are endless, get creative!

Mary Kusanagi

Basic Description

4'9, pink hair, glasses, oversized cardigans and homemade skirts. These are first things to notice about Mary. Second comes the sword, always at her hip, then the sweet hazel eyes. Small hands, but rough, used to hard work, can be noticed as she's shouting and wagging those fingers at you. She looks 15, but she's 19. Don't tell her she looks like a high schooler, it pisses her off. Her face is extremely expressive, but it's hard to discern what's she's saying because it's easier to laugh at her. Otherwise, there's not much else to see.
Personality

Mary in one word, timid, but only initially. Once you break past the ice guarding her demeanor, she is extremely affectionate. She can be obsessive about small things she finds interest in, like swords, tea, and robots. But complex things she completely ignores, like politics, the looming threat of world war, and how much sugar she consumes. But don't let that stop you from getting to know this sweetheart.
Biography

Mary was born in the United Front of Greater Russia, formerly the nations of Europe. Her parents were immigrants from the Pan-Asian Collective in the wake of the rise of crime lords and their influences over the high elves. However, when she was only thirteen, she lost both parents to a horrible train accident. It's rumored the train was sabotaged by minions of the Dark Lord back when his influence was still small and slowly rising, but it couldn't be proven.

She was sent to a elite foster family in the United Americas because of her extremely high testing for intelligence. The Aztec Empire sought assemble more engineers and programmers, and worked to purchase anyone the United Americas could produce. Mary was one of many children 'adopted' from the poor UFGR to be trained and sold off later in life. In line with this, she began a course to groom her into the field of sentient machine creation, but she found no interest in it. Unfortunately for her, after only a year of training and slowly falling in her grades, her 'foster parents' decided to send her back to UFGR instead of waste anymore resources on her failure as an engineer.

Mary would have none of this, so she ran away from home before they could put her on a one way hypertrain to the UFGR. With no citizenship, no identification, and no street smarts, Mary would have been a prime target for human trafficers. Thankfully, she was picked up by a group of high class thieves who need someone with natural technical skills to hack computers and various identification softwares. In exchange for being taken care of and training in the art of #theblades, as she calls it, she would handle the technical aspects of their jobs and keep her team off the radar.

But this life couldn't sustain her forever, and in the past few months she was forced to split with her group after a job went bad. Poorly educated, low on funds, and in the middle of rising tensions in the United Americas, Mary is balancing on the tip of a sword even sharper than her own blade. She could fall any direction at this point in time.
Skills

Master of #theblades
Extremely agile
Powerful hacker
Intelligent grifter
Weak driver
Gear

A single, double edged sword with the blade precisely 2 feet long. The blade is linked with a vibronic tech that causes the blade to ripple with microvibrations whenever it makes contact with something other than it's own scabbard. This vibrations are at such a frequency that they rend flesh like butter and can cut through steel with a little elbow grease.

I like it! Humans still run most agencies and places around the globe. For every one elf, there's fifty humans, and ten orcs. So major secret services would be either private corporations(did someone say Coka-cola death squads?), the KGB(Komitet Gosudarstvennoy Bezopasnosti) of Russia. The Aztec IXC((Ichtaca Xitlachia Cuauhtli) Secret observation warriors), though they rarely leave the Aztec Empire(all of south america). Or the United Americas CIA or FBI. The Pan-Asian Collective is entirely run by elves unfortunately.

The Dark Lord

Biography

"Look at me! Fellow Orcs! Look towards my sign and feel hope! Let yourselves bathe in hope! For our people, who have been nothing but hopeless for all our generations, release your despair. Let me taken in that which has brought you down, and take up your bodies and souls. Hear my voice and be filled with joy! We will rise!

"I, Dark Lord, was once nothing more than a poor child from the depths of the most forgotten slums of the United Americas. While Orcs are almost universally oppressed around the globe, in Greater Russia and the Pan-Asian Collective they possess unique cultures and land that keeps them together. Some would dare say that Orcs in those regions can live out their lives in safety. Even among the blood worshipers of the Aztec Empire, Orcs are tolerated for their strength and ability to blend into society. But the slums of Birmingham, Alabama, in the heart of the United Americas South, Orcs are oppressed more than anywhere else.

"It's not humans that hate us, though most don't like us, it's the elves. Humans are stubborn, shortsighted, and weak. But they can be some of the most compassionate people you will ever see. They're quick to forgive and even quicker to forget. And, according to most historians, their greatest trait is that they are numerous. But I disagree. Their greatest trait is exemplified in a phrase that no other race truly comprehends, 'The enemy of my enemy is my friend.'

"Orcs often cannot see past their hatred, and in our histories we lost many battles when we could not put aside our pride to fight alongside the giants and dwarves when the armies of the elves came crashing down in the old days. Elves are even worse so, their pride so great that they refuse to drink from the same water fountains as my people, and often refuse humans any jobs except the most simple and menial. Perhaps if we set aside our hatred of the humans for siding with the elves in our histories, perhaps we would not be in the situation we find ourselves in now.

"Pressure makes diamonds, and now humanity and the orcs join together under my banner to bring about real, powerful change. We have existed under John Raven laws for too long, and we will not stand for it anymore. Humans join us, standing, in the back of the buses now, refusing sit in seats we are denied. They have quit their jobs for the elves, refusing to work for the oppressors. Orcs break the laws and human officers refuse to arrest them. We have allies now, and I will not forget their faces in the crowds at my rallies.

"Change is coming, and the world will not know what hits them."

"Listen to me, my Orc brothers and sisters! Put aside the old hatreds and call forth the elders of the clans! We are not alone anymore, and the elves are weaker than ever! Rise up and join my rallies, listen to those who speak with my voice! Follow the papers and the dark trails, no one can stop you from learning the truth! We are the new generation comrades, death to anyone who stands in our way!

I'd like to be a Dark Elf, if that's okay. Maybe a slaver or someone who does something evil? (I'm more of a villain/antagonist roleplayer.) So, would Dark Elves have access to magic or do I rely on high tech weaponry and my wits instead? What makes me "dark" compared to normal elves? (Other than spiky armor potentially, that is.)

Absolutely! Dark Elves indeed are slavers, they typically deal in orc or human slaves, but they rarely, rarely, every go up on the surface. Dark Elves have access to magic at the same rate of high elves, rare but not unheard of, high technology may be your best bet unless you wish to try and work the magic with me lol.

I can do magic or technology, but having a character who's a slaver would be interesting.

Up to you, just know you may encounter more limits with magic than with technology. Technology has cause up so much that, for elves, it’s more efficient to use cybernetics to increase strength than to magically enhance your body.

Interesting... fantasy meets sci fi, sorta like shadowrun but not like shadowrun... I might scrounge up a character. Thinking an Orc with a bad attitude and a big gun.

Go for it! It's got some shadowrun influences, but it's definitively not gonna run like shadowrun(not that SR is bad, just that this is going to(hopefully) be a unique experience).
