Among the forest of tents, and from within the center tent comes the sound of applause. Cheering. It was refreshing to hear for Aiden Magnus. "Thank you, thank you for joining us tonight!" He thanked the audience, and taking a bow, the ringmaster dissapeared in a cloud of smoke. The lights strung across the exits came to life, as the spectators made their way to the carnival. To partake in the games, the rides, and food. And some decided to stay by the circus tents, wanting to watch the performers' acts. Like the knife throwing twins, or the fortune tellers or jesters. Yet one of the twins seemed to have dissapeared. One has to wonder where they went. Sadly, they - Marcus Simmons - had passed durring one of the circus' hunts.

Yawning, Aiden walked into his tent and grabbed a book off his desk. While he always keeps a tome of spells with him, he tends to keep record of every demon they encounter on their hunts. He flipped through the pages till the ringmaster spotted the picture of a monstrous worm, both in size and appearance.

Wurm Daemons
- Low class
- Threat Level: Low - Moderate

"Odd, looks like I haven't wrote a description for the Wurms yet." Aiden said, looking through the book a bit longer before putting it up. "Monstrocities nonetheless." He chuckled, before hearing a group of birds flying to his tent. Quickly running outside, he grabed a walking stick and held an arm out for the birds to perch. Four pigeons, and four ravens. "What the- I thought I had sent ravens only!"

The pigeons cooed in response. "No, no! Of course I appreciate the help but-" Aiden looked at the ravens, unamused. "It would've fit the theme more if they brought doves with them instead. Anyways, has there been a sign of daemons in the area?" the ravens cawed, nodding in reply. "Wurm daemons? In the mines? Well shit..."

More cooing, along with cawing, as if the birds were having a conversation between eachother. "Okay okay, look. I need you all to send a message to some of the others. Wait- you all can see in color right?" All the birds somehow nodded in unison. "Okay, nice! They'll be in the tents with the blue flags on them." Aiden explained, before the birds flew away to gather the performers.

"I seriously gotta opt for doves..." The ringmaster sighed, walking back inside his tent and taking his coat off. He looked over at his tome of spells, then the silver pocketwatch - once belonging to his brother - on top of it. "...Where are you, Parael?" A frown appeared on Aiden's face, before he threw on a dark blue hooded jacket, and started to set out some snacks and tea for the performers.

~ Reverence Notation ~

The world burns. A boy lays, curled beneath a tree black with ash, bedecked in the stench of smouldering wood. Despite the raging fires around him, beneath a patchwork sleeping bag he still wears the clothes from the previous day - casual, blackened in places and scarred in others where repairs were haphazard and little could be done to save them.

Beside him sleeps another boy, in a similar, if not worse off bag. Blonde hair pokes from the hood of the vessel, in stark contrast to the ash coating them. It's been hours. Crackling and snapping twigs keep them up though they try and sleep, but nothing seems to work. Every inch around them is grey with the mark of the inferno. A sign, he thought. They found each other in devastation and survived, despite everything surrounding them.

He was visiting a Carnival that had come to town. He met a fascinating boy - the one sleeping beside him - who could make him see all kinds of wondrous things without so much as a snap of his fingers, and his adolescent mind fell in love with the act. Whatever the trick was, he couldn't even bring himself to wonder lest he ruin the majesty. That boy was skilful, and that was all that mattered.

But things went wrong, somehow, somewhere. His parents vanished, leaving him stranded, off to the side in the heart of the Carnival as the tents and attraction burnt. Smoke rose high into the night sky around him, screams and cries echoing in his ears. He couldn't do anything. Every muscle in his body tensed, rendering him paralysed in fear, licked by the heat of the raging inferno obscuring his view of an exit.

And then he came - that blonde haired boy, dressed exactly the same as he was the last time they met; in his tent, watching a miraculous and new world. In the flaming landscape, he felt like the only thing that hadn't changed.
"Come with me, 'kay?" and so he did. They ran to the edge of the Carnival, where the flames were yet to reach. They gathered two sleeping bags from a storage space, and a number of supplies for their journey. Despite the fire he felt at peace, at ease, and at rest, despite the coursing adrenaline that wracked his body in nervous fear and excitement.

And then they were there, under the tree, beneath sleeping bags still fully dressed not for lack of heat but for want to escape quickly should the fires encroach. Maybe they knew that they wouldn't be able to sleep, or maybe the universe fated it to be as such. But amidst the snapping of branches and the crackling of burning trees an earsplitting sound rocked the forest, forcing them both upright in renewed fear.

~ And then everything died. ~

Jay sat behind his table, staring listlessly at the roof of his little corner of the Circus. People seldom visited him, even on the best and busiest of days. Who's idea was it to give him such an isolated tent!? Nobody was going to find him there! He was bored, and sulking. There was so little to do, he'd barely kept up with even the passage of time. He couldn't even tell if there were still guests about the place.

So he was passing the time as any meddler of the mind would. He was causing himself to hallucinate. It was a fun way to kill time, especially in severe boredom. It took discipline to not move in the midst of the dreams, but once one had mastered the art it was easy to lose yourself in an entirely fictional world, even better than the Virtual Reality Headsets that had become so common place in the modern era. He could go anywhere, and practically do anything.

But the time for dreaming was over. He was bored even of that now. Come tomorrow, he'd be enthused once again with a passion for the Silver Dreams, but that would be another day, and not today; he needed something to renew his vigour, his drive, and most importantly, his mood. And there was little better than a visit to his favourite place.

He was dressed, but the outfit wasn't complete. A mirror was hung behind him, slightly to the right, but he didn't even need it to determine what was wrong with his countenance. His hands ruffled quickly through the piles of pure stuff discarded within his tent until he came across his prize - the final coat of icing atop his attire.

With that spark of excitement glittering in his chest. Jay took off from his tent and into the Carnival. If there were people around him, he barely took notice, for he had a quest, and a destination! None could stop him from obtaining the experience that would lie at the end of the quest-line - those that attempted would receive swift punishment. Death would seldom suffice for those sinne-

"Hello Master!" he exclaimed, a pair of bright black and pink cat ears bobbing atop his head as he ran towards a certain someone, "I saw some birdies on the way, are you calling everyone to a meeting?!" each word he said was punctuated with an ever spreading pout, "No faiiiiiiirrrrrrr, I wanted you to myself tonight..."

The next second he spun on an axis, instantly rotating to face towards the rest of the Carnival, and more importantly, the general direction of the other members, his arms outstretched like a small child mimicking an aeroplane.
"Do you think they're all gonna come?! I hope they do! I'm still jealous buuuuuuuut, team meetings are fun, so I forgive you, Master! I wanna see Light, and Toby... and everyone, really! Ehehehe~!"

The calls of the crowds outside of his tent were calling for more, pushing and shoving past each other to try and get a glimpse of him and his show. Cries of 'encore' and 'we want more' were clearly audible but he had finished his show, for the time being at least. He moved towards the back of the tent to his small trailer from which he lived. He slumped down onto his suprisingly comfortable bed and stretched out his limbs as far as he could. The satifying feeling of each and ever fibre of his muscles stretching was followed by loud sigh. For a moment he continued to stare at the ceiling before returning to his feet.

Moving to a nearby desk he took a seat and began to delve through one of the desks drawers. Items he had accumulated over the years and with some meaning to him were left to roll around loose. However what he wanted was something much more edible. Eventually he came across what he was looking for, a wondrous and most delightful childrens treat, a Kinder egg. Such a simple treat but something that Connor had become slightly addicted to. The egg shaped combination of white and milk chocolate along with the surprise gift inside was a welcome treat after a long days performance.

He slowly peeled away the foil wrapper until it was left in a pile on the desk in front of him. His mouth began to fill with saliva as he moved the chocolate egg towards his mouth. He raised the chin of his mask to reveal his mouth beneath, opening it wide ready for his first bite. Then, before he could bite down, he was disturbed by the cawing of a Raven behind him. He slowly moved his hand away from his mouth, his free hand clenching tight. "One little chocolate egg...that's all I want...to be able to eat a damn chocolate egg after a hard days work." The raven cawed once more. "I will be there soon, just let me eat my damn egg in peace." A third caw from the raven pushed Connor over the edge and he squeezed both fists tight from frustration. He slowly opened his right hand and looked down at the crushed chocolate and destroyed toy from inside. "Bird...you have until I finish speaking or I will be eating you." Connor turned to find the raven gone. He tried to salvage what he could of the egg, taking small satisfaction from the remnants that weren't crushed into his gloves. He rose to his feet once more and made for the Ringmaster's tent.

Upon entering the tent he found the Ringmaster with his...well whatever Jay was meant to be. "I honestly hope this is good. I just broke my last egg!" Pointing at his chocolate covered glove in frustration, Connor continued on. "Speaking of which, double my order for next time. They are the literal definition of happiness in my life right now." Lowering his hands and placing them on his hips he got to the point. "So what is it we are dealing with?"

Light was enjoying a bit of a break from her performance that day. While the crowds outside the performers tents were quite loud, asking for encores from the performers considering the wonderful acts they had done that day, Light wasn't much one for encores. Well, she'd LOVE to do encores, but since her acts were fairly dangerous, if not outright deadly, she tended to not bother for the safety of those outside. Although from time to time she would show herself and act super flashy at least. She did like the attention.

Her room wasn't all that decorated, unlike some of her other compatriots. Since she could store items herself, she didn't really need a wardrobe for her performance cloths. And she didn't really keep that many worldly possessions, that was more for the others. And besides the occasional resting, researching or sleeping, she barely stayed in her room anyway. The only really noticeable feature she had that was different from the other performers was her two separate beds. One was normal, while the other looked like it was slightly turning into pure blackness, losing its shape in the process.

Since Light was from the Void, she caused whatever she touched to slowly lose energy and its connection to reality. Eventually whatever she was touching would just fade into the Void itself, and it took whatever she touched a good while to regain what she stole from it if she had been touching it for a long time. So instead of forcing the Ringmaster to get her a new bed every other day, Light just swapped between two of them. Although if both beds were normal, if anyone saw Light's room, they'd think she was seeing someone or was ready for something. Which Light wouldn't object to, dating people was fun. At least until they ran away because your touch is just 'creepy'.

While she was relaxing in a chair, thinking of what she could do for her next performance, a bird flew into her tent. It was one of the Ringmaster's birds calling her. Getting up and shrugging to herself, she made her way to the Ringmaster tent, a grin on her face. Another mission, more adventure! Entering the Ringmaster tent with a grin on her face, her teeth showing. "Hiya guys, Whats up?" she said, grabbing an open chair and resting on it. So far Jay and Harliquin were the first to arrive, Light waving to both of them.
