Everyone was gathered in the bunker except Caleb and Ambrose. They had yet to arrive and Sam was more curious than concerned as to what was taking those two so long. Eventually, they returned her text and she smirked. Ariana sat in the far end reading about alternate universes and trying to understand the rules when entering a parallel world. Sam had given her the task and she hadn't stopped studying. Alex was standing, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed and Sam was trailing her fingers along a row of books. When the door opened they all looked up at Caleb and Ambrose as they entered in together. Was something funny? It had to be the way he chuckled as they entered in. Sam took note of their behavior immediately and a grin appeared on her face.
"Well well what do we have here?" she questioned moving towards them.
Caleb looked at Sam and shook his head. "What are you talking about?" he asked a sly grin on his face.
"Don't think I don't see it Caleb Juan Anderson!"
Whenever Sam used his full name she was trying to get him to spill any information he had and he didn't like his middle name so it ended up with him spilling, but today he looked at her and shrugged his shoulders.
"I don't know what you mean Sam," Caleb said looking over at Ambrose and smiling. Sam gave him the eye and smirked.
"Well I'm glad you two worked it out, but we have a job to finish remember?" she said messing up Caleb's hair before returning to the middle of the room. Ambrose asked if they had a plan and Sam shook her head. "Honestly we don't. We've tried to come up with one but the alternate universe is different than ours and the only thing we can think of is to just go in, be careful and do what we have to do. The problem is we can't get in."
"What do you mean?"
"The spell required is complex," Alex said chiming in.
"It's very complex like I've never seen anything like this," Ariana added looking at Caleb and Ambrose. "Unless someone knows how to walk through worlds we're stuck. Maybe we should ask the headmaster."
Caleb grew silent. He used to be a world walker. He used to visit worlds when he was a consumer, but he'd changed. Still, if he revealed this part of himself to them, would they judge him. He gave one look in Ambrose's direction as if wondering what he would say before speaking. "I... I know of a way."
Sam gave Caleb a look as if she was looking at him for the first time. "You know a way?"
"Yes, but if I show you it doesn't leave this room, no one brings it up later in conversation, no one asks me how to do it, are we clear?"
Sam, Ariana, Jeremy, and Alex nodded and Caleb stood up moving to the center of the room. He exhaled slowly and concentrated. He moved as if dancing extending his hands, arms, legs, and feet in a beautiful array of movement while arcane energy flowed into the room. It began to swirl around Caleb's hand as he spoke in the ancient language, his voice echoing softly in the room. A pentagram appeared just as he made a circle with his hands. The center began to open up slowly and wind blew viciously into the room.
"Once we go in, we're in. It will close, but it can be reopened. Just remember it takes time. So, who's first?"
