Fishermen were lucky to not be bothered if Gyrados was migrating to warmer waters. Life is harsh, its unforgiving, and cruel only leaving the strongest of wills to continue onward. It was ether fight, or die, there was no in between as the lives of the world clashed day to day.

Welcome to the world of pokemon before pokemon were our friends! I'm gonna put this out here, whenever I see a pokemon rp I'm always met with the same thing, much like the games. Get a pokemon, go on a journey or do other things. This world is sitting on the best freaking concept and it was watered down, so it's time to destroy my and hopefully your childhood!
The basic idea is simple. You are a resident of Kanto, a land that is dotted in small villages and clans that have to struggle in order to survive against the terrible beasts that call it home. You can be anything, a fishermen, a hunter, a noble, rich, poor, a healer. Whatever you are, you are in a world where Pokemon are not friends, they are foe and food. You grew up on the stories, you know how to avoid them, you know they are dangerous and that they are to be feared. There is no poke ball, there is no PC or pokemon centre. It's just you in the wilds.
One day though, you cross paths with one of these monsters. Instead of killing it or running however, you choose to try to calm it, to connect to the beast in any way you can. Eventually you realize that over time, you and this beast develop a bond, and gave the both of you a huge advantage over the wilds. No longer are you barred from forgoing in protected lands, or fishing in dangerous seas. You have you very own pokemon, the first pokemon trainer.
And you are not alone. As you decide to travel to see more of the world since you no longer have to live in fear. You eventually come across someone else, with her own monster in toe.
Aright, so a little about myself. 21 year old female who has a very busy life, so I won't be able to post every day, but when I do, its a long ass post. I will be as committed to you as I possibly can, and so long as you keep giving your best, I'll give mine.

Don't shy away from taking charge. This world will be both of ours, so if you have an idea and you want to surprise me, then please by all means, take control and run with it!
This is a darker idea, don't have your character be under the age of 18! You are in a world where your friends and family have been killed by monsters and you managed to get one, this is not for Ash, Ash would die.
