Hello there, thanks for being here to listen, or in this case read. ;)
Some things about me and how they concern the RPs:
In no particular order of importance:
I’m male, but have no problem playing characters of either gender. I could try to give a go to characters of different gender denominations than the traditional ones, but I don’t believe I can do them justice and therefore I’m reluctant to try except they are a fantasy creation. What I’m trying to say is that I would have no problem with playing a hermaphrodite fantasy creature but I would have with a gender dysphoria-heavy character.
I’m 22 years old and I need all my partners to be +18 as I do not like for the screen to fade to black in any moment that might be important, be it sex, violence or other mature themes. That isn’t to say that there would be the need for all the RPs to be extremely violent or pornographic in every case. Some might, some might even have those things as driving forces, but there is no need for it in every case, nor likely in most cases.
I’m a university student, I have a life outside of the guild and I respect that all of you have one too. Your life comes first in every case and so does mine, but please take care to inform me of any prolonged absences.
English isn’t my mother tongue, however, I learned it by reading and writing and would consider myself proficient on it except sometimes for the orthography. I won’t demand perfection, life knows how much that has taken from me when I demanded it from myself, but as long as you are understandable and try to maintain a good level that is intentioned towards writing, as opposed to chatting, I don’t think I would mind even a good number of mistakes.
On the other hand, if you speak Spanish, it is as if you had a backstage pass with me. (In my dreams of becoming a superstar. C’mon, you all have or had had them too! XD).
I like writing long posts but that is not a need for all of the RPs nor in all cases in the same RP, we can have posts of varying lengths but at the end of the day I wish for effort. No one-liners.
I’m a tolerant person that has been in the shoes of simply being unable to answer for months and knowing I won’t be and I won’t resent you for abandoning an RP except in the case you don’t inform me. Still, I don’t believe that is a justification for not being able to ever RP with someone again, however, I respect that decision from others.
I like to think that I’m a sociable person, so don’t hesitate to chat with me about whatever you wish in the OOC, from what happened in your day to your philosophical positions towards life passing through your musical tastes and everything in between. I love to meet new people.
I don’t believe that, at least for me, romance is enough to push a story forward. It can be a nucleus of plot, but alone it cannot sustain a story. For me. This is all for me, I don’t think that that is an absolute, there are perfectly good books and RPs based around romance. Give me a romantic comedy and I’ll probably fall asleep, give it to me in a post-apocalyptic setting or something of the sort and I will be a very different story for me.
I love complex backgrounds and settings. The more complex the merrier for me.
For these prompts I wish to use PMs for story and Discord for chatting.
Ideas I'm interested at the moment (everchanging):
This isn’t an RP in itself as it more of an exercise of creativity and a setting for one. This is basically us creating a fantasy world and then deciding how to go from there. I have many plots but they will be disclosed when we have a setting deep enough. This a completely flexible, blank page. Come at me with all of your ideas. This is my deepest craving.
This the "evolution" of The Times of False Grandeur if you wish to call it so; with it being included inside the world but also featuring other worlds. As this takes place after TTOFG therefore I will disclose it's plot by request.
Some steampunk or Mortal Engines-based world.
Ideas floating around…
A really, really deep setting I had created for the purpose of a fictional anime, then a book, then I realized I I’ve bitten too much to chew. Are you ready to hear it is spite of that?
Magic has existed on planet Earth since the inception of mankind, however, some irregular cycle exists in the universe that weakened it for centuries and millennia until making it disappear in the renaissance, nothing more than a myth… And thus it continued to be until the Great War… But this isn’t the Great War you remember: around the year 1750 things diverged from our timeline, the reform of the Subordinated Parliaments prevented the First British Empire from withering away after the independence of the USA and without its fall we have a continuous line from the first stage of the British Empire into the second.
With a great percentage of the world under the paws of the Lions in the Isles, there was the need to find a medium to compensate and thus magic re-enters the stage in the shape of gargantuan magically powered machinery created by the German Empire to crush the Russian Empire in 1910, a British ally at the time. The war raged on for twelve years and the British lost all power on the continent while the Germans lost all their colonies; a dichotomy that would birth fascism as the bitter peace and devastation wouldn’t leave anyone indifferent. However, we are still not there yet.
Fast forward to the year 2275 and the magical races that reappeared in the 1910s have been expelled from Earth as a scapegoat since 150 years ago… And now the cycle is entering the upwards phase of the curve, granting them power once again and granting them the ability to maybe come back to Earth from their exile in the orbital and planetary colonies of the Solar System.
The current age of mankind has been the shortest to date, nanotechnology has replaced most factory processes and the jump between the robotized production and the nanomechanical one has destroyed the economy of the developed world in favour of the developing world; but that hasn’t been the solution to the problems of anyone. Petroleum has ran out, space elevators have risen from the Equator and machine melded with flesh. Old age for the developed world is ungrateful and for the younger states of the world, their adolescent phase doesn’t excuse them of their mistakes as it does for people.
Basically cyberpunk with a hint of political commentary behind it.
"There were castles in the sky before, both metaphorical and maybe not so much. "We don't need them", felt most humanity and thus cast their gods away and built better ones of machine and mind. Their power pushed us to the fringes and the semingly sempiternal hewning of our cultures and way of life, already on nigh extinction, passed to become sepulted by time and dust. Not hated, not venerated as before, no memories of us for mankind as there is no strong feelings towards our isolated communities when we closed ourselves off and dissapeared in the fog. Said fog was once the sweet dew of a moor, pregnant with the unknown and good promises. Now that fog is an acrimnoius mixture of ash and smoke that leaves a septic, metallic taste in our mouths. Now, as mankind's tall spires reach for the heavens we once ruled, we will soon be no more."
Basically a dark fantasy that has transitioned into the future, erasing and forgetting most magic in the process but for a few isolated communities. My character would be one of the ones that still remembers, mostly because he or she had been alive during that period and has experienced all of the changes. He or she wouldn't really be immortal, but would have a tremendously long lifespan both behind and ahead. Said lifespan has costed him or her most of his sense of wonder and anything but indifference for the world, slowly suffocating without pain a depression out of him or her. That's when your character enters the scene with her or his own share of problems and maybe a solution to my character's world-weariness.
