@Eric Horst Yes, of course there is.

@Raptra It's good but... I don't know I'm not seeing how this version of the tale is any different from the classic version. Remember that the point of this setting is that the Tales are all re-imagined as horror stories. Your version of Jack and the Beanstalk is... not really all that horrifying.

@Double Ah ok, I was under the impression that the horrific stuff started after. Got it, will change up the backstory then.

And there we go. Sorry if that took a bit long. It can be tweaked if you so wish. ^^

@Eric Horst I'm not gonna lie, you had me going there with that line about "cracking his first big case at age 15" and I thought for sure I was looking at some Detective Conan level prodigy... and then I read the rest of that paragraph. Well played. Accepted.

Also that's the second character sheet out of four that include a blight in the backstory. I only mention this because I made no mention of any plague like that in the OP post. That's a good thing by the way. It gives me ideas for backstory and lore to add to the setting as we go along. Kudos to you guys.

On that note, everyone feel absolutely free to make up some places and citizen NPC's for Ravenport. Whether they're just neighbors who live nearby, or some pub or shop your character frequents on a regular basis, go ahead lay em on me. The more life and personality we give to the city, the better, since fair warning: we're going to be spending large chunks of time within the game's narrative in Ravenport. It's basically our own little home city of hub of activity, and even when cases take us out to other locations, we'll still be reporting back to Ravenport when those cases have been finished.

I'm scrapping my previous idea and giving this another Mundane. Hopefully this works!

Alright, I've tried thinking on a few NPC characters that might live within the city, so here's two, alongside one location, since it's a staple. I went into a little more depth then I should have, but I wanted to flesh them out a bit.

@Raptra Accepted, and I already know exactly how that town got demolished to boot. But you'll find that out later, of course. *whispered tone* It was a Fable!... <_<

@Eric Horst Those are all good. When I get a chance to, I'll make a 0th post in the character tab for keeping track of the NPCs and whatnot.

And just so everyone else knows, NPC's don't need to have full character sheets. Just some brief descriptions of what they're like and maybe some personality as well. They are just NPC's at the end of that day.

@Double: I'm considering making a character based on the Hare from the Fable the Hare and the Tortoise, would that be acceptable?

@Fallenreaper Probably. I tend not to accept characters before actually seeing them first.

I wanted to make sure the concept was acceptable before starting the character. No point in starting the character if it wasn't going to be accepted, right? I've had this issue before in a different rp so I started to check what was alright and wasn't before I work on the CS.

@Fallenreaper Not the scariest retelling in the world, but I don't suppose The Tortoise And The Hare gives you much to work with in that regard. Nice idea making Hare's loss due to nefarious interference. Honestly I wouldn't mind drudging that up as a case to be solved later. Give Hare some closure about the race and stuff. One last caveat before I accept you, though. Fables tend to hide themselves from Mundanes, as some of them share stories of Fables effectively falling victim to lynch mobs because of what the more villainous or monstrous Fables had been known to do to Mundanes and other victims. Otherwise, it's acceptable. Also note that Rolfe and Basil will have been hesitant to hire a Fable, and yes, they'll know exactly what he is well ahead of time. They make a point of knowing who all the Fables in Ravenport are and what they can do, Hare would be no exception to this. They'll hire him but also tell him on no uncertain terms that they'll be watching him closely and that he would be wise to keep his nose squeaky clean while working for them.

Not without making it up and derailing the original tale, I'm afraid. I wasn't sure how much creative freedom I had and how far I could go with it. At some point, I would've risked the creature feeling less like the original tale one. So I decided to go simple with a dark twist. And I assume there are mundane anthropomorphic animals around as well in the city? I asked this because hiding the fact he's a Fable will be difficult since he's too small to be human and rather furry.

As for keeping squeaky clean, I'm pretty sure someone will frame him for something eventually or some unfortunate luck will happen.
