Your first Pokemon, your first battle, your very first moments as a trainer. These are moments that a surprising amount of people forget. Living in the moment is good, but sometimes you need to look back at where you came from just so you remember who you are, and how you got here.

Hello! Call me Pap! I may not have posted much but there are a few things I have seen regarding Pokemon roleplay, mostly that everyone wants to be the Pokemon master right off the bat! ( or at least a veteran trainer. )

This makes me sad, because for as entertaining that can be, I have always wanted to explore the growing bond and early adventures of young trainers and their Pokemon! ( And no, I do not mean a pre-trained Raichu or Garydos you aquired from mom/dad. )

I don't expect too much interest but if 2 people decide they may enjoy it I would be more than willing to make this a small group deal.

Basically this story will involve my trainer Yui Kaneko and her late start into the world of Pokemon training! Where most trainers start at 10 or 11, Yui is 16. Yui was a girl raised in a reasonably wealthy family in the Hoenn region, born to an overprotective father who had her homeschooled.

Eventually she has enough and runs away from home with a friend to Slateport City, where she boards a ship headed to another region! Desperate to keep her safe, her father finally allowed her journey on the promise that she accept a gift, a Pokemon egg! White with light blue spots.

----

More is to be developed but I hope we can all see where this can go! A group of rookie trainers possibly from different regions, coming together to explore the world!

I'd be interested, as I have a similar feeling about Pokemon RP's. The journey and development through failure and success is the fun part (though I think that's honestly any RP to an extent) and trying to rush to a certain point for characters isn't as enjoyable.

I have an old character in mind that'd be great; I haven't had the chance to develop him much as I dropped out of roleplaying for awhile. I don't know how familiar you are with the Orre games (Pokemon Colosseum/XD: Gale of Darkness) but he's a young man from that region studying Pokemon, specifically their emotions and relationship with people. His starter is flexible, though if nobody else wanted it I'd be taking Mareep.

@Todd Howard

Of course, I have developed Yui and her starter a fair bit so what ai have posted here is nowhere near everything.

I don't know much about the games you mention as my Pokemon knowledge is only sure when it comes to Emerald, Platinum and a decent amount of yellow. I am willing to learn however.

Everything to know about the games can be found Here and Here.

And everything about the region can be found Here.

If you ever have a chance with a Gamecube or Wii, or do emulation, the games are fun and a bit darker than the traditional games for sure.

I'd be looking at an Orre that takes place after the games; It leaves a few things open to the player that could actually make potentially good plot down the line if we wanted to follow it, and the two Shadow Pokemon epidemics the region suffered are a huge inspiration for my character to actually invest in his quest for knowledge.

If you don't feel like reading (Which I understand), I can bullet point some of the most crucial info. Though none of it is truly necessary to know unless we might use it, lol.

I agree with you as well. A proper story doesn't start after the climax, after all. What could be more dramatic, more intense and more surprisingly fulfilling then a group of young boys and girls together trying to make a name for themselves and be the best they can be?

If by any chance you're looking for people to join you I'd be more than happy. I've had a characters drafted up for a while now, a trainer from Kanto with a strong pokemon but no clue what he's doing. I've been dying to try him out, but I can write something a bit less cliche up if you desire.

Regardless, if you're looking for that third wheel to your group: it sounds like you need your misty.

Why stop at three wheels when you can have four? That's how many a car has and those seem to work just fine. I'd be down for something like this if you'll have me.

Also, something something "did you call for me?"
