Ovarin chuckles snidely at Kaldalis ignoring his comments. When Boris enters the room, Ovarin watches the massive, muscular man with highbrow intrigue. In the conclusion of Boris's chant, Kaldalis stands to introduce himself as the tin man. It is only then that Ovarine also rises from his position to say;

"Naw-naw-naw! Don list teh dat liar prune, Bori, I beh deh mun ya seek. I beh deh tin mun. Dis meh rah heah!"

On her search for answers, Ilyssa enters a general store. The general items of this store range from snack foods to Trios souvenirs and even maps of the town. The storekeeper is a stout man with beard and an eye monocle that he uses to watch Ilyssa with great scrutiny, perhaps as one might keep watch on a potential shoplifter. Should Ilyssa approach the shop counter with a map and other possible items to purchase, the man will adjust his monocle to focus more clearly on Ilyssa's face.

"You appear to be new in town." He would tell her. Voice high-pitched and abrasive. "Not many of your freak kind are seen around here. You look lost. Searching for a specific something? Information, perhaps? Yes?"

Madison

Madison grinned sardonically at the barkeep as he approached her table, stammered his words then hurried away as fast as he could. While he was talking, deliberate or not, a wet rumble of flatulence escaped her bowel, adding to her overall stench. As he was walking away she called after him in a mocking tone - "I don't like love letters, idiot! Can't an attractive woman like myself just have a drink in peace?" She then laughed in an equally mocking manner as her eyes fell to the envelope in front of her.

To she who seeks gold. Read this and reconsider.

"What sort of bullshit is this?" She muttered under her breath while scratching at the gold print with one dirty, jagged nail. "Another fucking prick that can't mind their own business...."

She pushed the still closed envelope aside to finish her ale in peace. Once the mug was dry, she checked over her shoulder out the window. The rain was still falling enough to keep her inside. Time for another drink. She went to the bar, ordered another ale then returned to her table before finally, grudgingly, opening the envelope to see what it had to say....

Boris

Boris was feeling pleased that his magic chant had worked once again! He started to smile pleased at Kaldalis when the inmate in the next cell also stood and said some things that Boris didn't at first understand. The smile dropped form his docile face as he pursed his lips thoughtfully to one side, trying to make sense of what the man said. Finally, he figured out the mans words and his eyes lit up, not because of the content, just because he managed to figure it out for himself. But the joy didn't last long. His elated expression quickly became a resentful glare at Ovarin for lying to him. Boris wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but it didn't take much for him to realize the man was a liar. After all, Boris had heard the Tin Man talk in town earlier, and the voice he heard earlier matched the man who had stood up first. Like Boris's magic chant had told him, Kaldalis was Kaldalis for sure!

For the moment forgetting about Kaldalis, Boris suddenly grabbed hold of the bars to Ovarin's cell and shook them like an enraged animal as he yelled with a mighty voice at the man -

"DON'T YOU LIE TO ME LIKE THAT!"

Of course, it wasn't only the lie that enraged Boris, it was also the realization that this was in fact the bad man, Ovarin, the man that Boris had actually come to see. For that moment of lost temper, Boris shook the bars of the cage so hard that they actually began to buckle and twist. They didn't bend a lot, but enough to give evidence to anyone there on just how strong he really was.

Releasing the bars, Boris stood back to let himself relax. His boyish face slowly faded from anger to one of a more intense I'm-gonna-hurt-you-bad-now expression at Ovarin. Still, amid the emotional rage of the moment, Boris did find mind to regard Kaldalis for a moment, telling him:

"Don't you worry about anything at all, Mr. Tin Man. Boris isn't here to hurt you. Boris is here to teach this even badder man a lesson!" Boris then turns his severe glare back to Ovarin, saying in another raise of his voice -

"I know it was you who hurt that little girl! She told me herself! - DON'T YOU HURT LITTLE GIRLS LIKE THAT! YOU'RE A VERY, VERY BAD MAN!!"

As Boris finished yelling at Ovarin a second time, he stepped forward again, his face straining with red fury as he forced the iron bars open even further to get at the man inside. But the effort was short and the bars hadn't bent much more before he remembered he had the keys. Releasing the bars, he quickly fished the chain of keys from his pocket. Holding them up in his finger and thumb, Boris's anger lapses momentarily to regard Kaldalis with a howler look, and said in a childish, embarrassed tone:

"I forgot I had the keys, Mr. Tin Man."

Boris then commenced blundering through the many keys on the chain to see which one fit the lock to Ovarin's cell.

Ilyssa had stumbled into the store after a bit of shoving from the crowd. Roaming about, she picks up a couple tins of dried food, as well as a small map and compass. Heading over to the man at the counter, she placed her small pile of items on top of it.

“Yes, fairly new, though I don’t think that’s much your buisness. As for your question, yes, I am searching for information. Do you happen to know of an Agartha? I was told to look for them, but the one who asked me to didn’t tell me more then their name.” She paused for a bit, seeming to think something over before continuing.

“And by any chance, do you happen to know of a small apparation of a ghostly girl? She seemed to be about twelve years of age, and there were wounds covering her body. I heard about her recently, and became curious.”

“Yes! She said the faster I can find her the more cookies I can get!” Kura excitedly said with a cheerful little wiggle.

She hummed happily to herself, I’d rather quietly, until asked a question, to which she looks inwards, and after a moment “....don’t remember too much about her, was too mister-ious to be really interesting. Besides, only met her for a coupla seconds.”

The girl grins as Ahnciel asks them for their name, and shakes their head.

"You're right, how could I possibly be so rude as to not even give you my name?" She remarks, smiling. "My name is Umli"

"But no, I doubt you'll be in need of my aid. Unless you're unlucky that is. So unless you get unlucky, I'll be seeing you around I assume?"

@Quote5

The guard nods in response. "That makes sense, nobody really wants to be here unless they have business here. I'd suggest going back the way you came and then turning right, that should lead you to the more... civilised parts of the town, if that's what you're looking for."

@Hokum

As Madison opens the envelope, some kind of fumes are released and blown into her face. While it might cause some coughing, they don't appear to be harmful, just annoying at most.

The letter itself is written in a strange mix of handwritings as if multiple people wrote the letter. Sometimes the writing is clear and elegant, at other times it's similar to childish scribblings, barely readable. It reads as following.

"We do not take kindly to nosy people like you. The Gold in this town is no business of yours, so if you value your life you will stay far away from it."
"Many have already perished on their quest to get the Gold. Continue your pursuit of this town's Gold, and you will just become another unmarked grave left abandoned underground."
"This is our only warning. Abandon your search for the Gold, or suffer the consequences."

After a few moments, barely long enough to read the letter, the envelope it came in begins crumbling to dust

@Zyngard

"Too mysterious? I've never heard of anyone like that before, I didn't even know that was possible!"

Frowning as she realises she has no idea where to start searching, Whiteleaf stops in the middle of the street and turns around to face Kura.

"Say, if you were her, where'd you go first? Might give us a place to start searching!"

Karter nodded. "Right... Thank you."

Karter then turns and starts quickly retracing his steps. Not sure what he is going to do once he gets back to the fork in the road, go down the path that had creepy crows or go down the other path that creepy crows... He'll just have to find out when he gets there.

Kaldalis shot a disgusted glare at the prisoner as he tried to win over Boris' trust. Before he could say anything however, Boris grabbed the bars of his cell and shook it with great force, shouting. As Boris shook the man's cage, Kaldalis could see the strength that he really posseses as the bars were bent and twisted.

He opted to stay silent and allow Boris to go through the full course of his temper, lest he incur his wrath as well. After his temper had finished its course, Boris turned back to Kaldalis and switched back to his more docile demeanor, stating that he was here to punish the prisoner, before shouting at the man about a child. It was then Kaldalis had an idea about why the man was locked in here.

At least the guard are doing something right... Kaldalis thought,
Scum like him belong in here...

Boris shook the cage again before realizing he had the keys and showing said keys to Kaldalis.

Kaldalis: You can finish your business with the man Boris, I can wait.

He also noticed that Boris was fumbling around with the keys, and raised his own hand, pointing at the key that looked like it belonged to the other cells lock.

Kaldalis: Try that one.

At first the stout man’s mouth murmurs a few small, incoherent words while Ilyssa delivers the first part of her response. He appears to be somewhat disgruntled by something she has said. He does however abruptly stop grumbling at the hearing of the name Agartha. His monocle shifts as his face twists auspiciously and his eyes pan over the items Ilyssa has brought to the counter. Agitated, his index finger begins to tap repeatedly on the counter.

He raised his eyes to her once more, preparing to respond when he is stopped by Ilyssa’s comment pertaining to the apparition of a young girl. His face drops as one who has seen a ghost of their own. His finger stops tapping. The monocle drops from his eyes as his complexion pales and his very soul seems to vacate the premises. His lips tremble for a time before recovering the fortitude to reply.

“A single silver piece will cover your items.” The man’s voice is no longer abrasive but forlorn. “Best you don’t drag the curse of that damnable child into my place of business.” He does pause for a moment, eyes twitching to consider the information he should or should not provide. His index finger again begins tapping restlessly on the counter - “Ignorant travelers, the lot of you…. Agartha is no person, least not anymore. It is a mine, a gold mine, in fact. It is marked on the map if you care to look for it. But if I were you I wouldn’t dare. Stay well clear of that place. That is my advice, girl, if you know what’s good for you.” The man’s finger stops tapping long enough to use it to rub his nose with an anxious jerking motion, then returns it to the counter where the tapping continues. He leans forward, looming as much as his short body would allow over the counter.

“That girl you mentioned…. She is a curse on this town – A curse, I tell you now! I don’t care what the others say, to me she wants nothing more than vengeance. Agartha was where she was raped. Her and her mother alike. They were both killed by those ghastly men. A terrible thing, I say. She’s been haunting this town ever since.” He forces to lean in closer to Ilyssa, each word now wafting the pungent breath of tooth decay over her face. “Best you turn about and leave Trios… before it’s too late for you.”

Now standing straight, the stout shopkeeper adjusts his attire, placing his monocle back over his eye to regard the items on the counter once again.

“As I said, a single silver piece will suffice. Pay and be gone.”

The hostile reaction of Boris caused Ovarin to fawn while, with his thumb, began fidgeting with the ring on his finger. Nevertheless, the apprehension he showed at first was no greater than that of one slightly nervous. It was only when Ovarin observed the bars begin to bend under the strain of Boris’s strength that his thumb ceased fidgeting with the ring. Ovarin’s eye’s widened with growing trepidation. He backed up against the wall of his cell like a child awaiting an abusive parent to at any moment burst through the bedroom door.

“Ya caht hurt meh,” His voice broke with the tone of skeptical hope, “ya caht – deh guard beh com’n. Deh wan led ya hurt meh….”

The anger of Boris subsides, though his intentions of entering the cell are still clear. Ovarin’s own words now seem to be defied by the keys Boris produces. The man shrinks, though his eyes narrow with a piercing glare at Boris. While Kaldalis offers Boris a hand in selecting the correct key, Ovarin sneers.

“Fug ya! Sarah Stohn Deser wah sheh got. Dat witch chile. Sheh wan it bad. I give it. I give it hard teh her n’ her mah. Ha ha ha, sheh scream so muh – ha ha ha!”

By this time Boris will have undoubtedly found the correct key and entered the cell to confront Ovarin, yet the vulgar little man continues with his rant as though he has now accepted his fate.

“Buh wah ya goh do, Bori? Meh not deh oni one. Deh udders too. Ya kill us all? Ha ha ha! You a stupi mun!! Stupi, stupi, stupi!”

Although Ovarin would well be aware of his pending fate, he remains still against the wall of his cell, lifting not even one hand to defend himself against the massive brute before him.

While this is taking place, Kaldalis, no doubt watching the events unfold, may catch witness of the apparition that has appeared in his cell. It is the ghost of a young girl standing beside him. This girl is badly injured. Her white attire is well stained with blood. She raises her eyes to Kaldalis with an insidious smile that may send shivers up Kaldalis's spine. Once the smile has been delivered, the apparition of Sarah Stone returns her attention to Boris and Ovarin, watching with Kaldalis at the events unfolding.

A female voice is heard, like the whisper of wind perceived by all those present:

“Kill him. For my daughter yearns.”

Accompanying this voice is a heavy chill that fills the cell block, lacing the walls and iron bars with a film of frost.

Madison

Madison doesn't take kindly to threats, any at all, and ones made by those unwilling to make themselves known annoyed her on an even deeper level. She considered those types of people cowards, too scared to show their face and confront her in person.

As a display of her disdain, she cocks her body to one side in order to release a loud fart as the envelope crumbles to dust like an ancient scroll exposed to the air for the first time in centuries, which is actually something she doesn't care about in the slightest. She'd encountered all manner of witchcraft in her life. It didn't intimidate her in the slightest. She crumples up the teller and shoves in her mouth, chewing it like a tasty cut of meat as she chuckles at a memory of the time she killed a witch by sitting on her head and suffocated her. Her chuckling intensified as she recollected how the witch finally stopped struggling, going limp, then soiled her pants as her bowels became incontinent due to death.

Once the letter was well and truly masticated, she spat it out across the room. The saliva-softened clomp of paper made a loud plop sound as it stuck to a support beam next to another customers table.

With this sort of behaviour she knew it wouldn't be long before she was asked to leave, and she could do without any more attention being drawn to herself. She had gold to find, and she preferred to do that in peace without too many prying eyes watching on. As for the prying eyes of the witch, or whoever else it might have been that sent her the letter, Madison felt a little excited over the anticipation of defying their request, in the hopes of one day meeting them. At which time it would be her filthy pleasure to show them exactly what she thinks about them.

She rises from her table, swallows back the last of her drink, and leaves a few coins on the table – no tip – then heads out the door.

Boris

“Gosh! You sure are nice for a jailbird.” Boris tells Kaldalis, much obliged for helping him find the right key. “We sure can talk about you leaving this place after I teach this bad man a lesson.” He adds while slipping the key into the hole.

The cell is opened.

Boris steps inside, his baby face hard as stone while taking strides towards Ovarin, who at this time is ending his hard to understand speech by calling Boris Stupid many times over. That part Boris could understand very easily. He’d been called stupid a lot by lots of people in his life, and that was one thing he didn’t like at all!

Boris stops just a few feet from the disgusting little man, his chest swelling like a barrel about to explode as his face goes red with rage.

“DON’T YOU CALL ME STUPID LIKE THAT!” He yells at the man, and without a seconds delay he lashes out with one heavy fist. The punch would be powerful enough to shatter any bones in the old man’s face and sending against the wall like a ragdoll. While Ovarin is probably falling to the floor in pain, Boris draws Revel Yell from the straps on his back, raising it above his head as he hears the ghostly voice of Sara Stones mother fill the room. The cold of her voice sends a shiver up Boris’s spine, but Boris didn’t need convincing, his passion for helping the little invisible miss had already made up his mind.

Without even a second thought, Boris brings the massive Dragonbone club down on Ovarin. The old man’s head pops like an overripe melon, spraying blood, bone and brain all over the cell. As this happens, Revel Yell glows a vibrant turquois hue while releasing a Dragons cry of rage that shakes the cell block, all of this in unison with the sound of Boris’s voice calling out in his own passionate rage.

Boris peers down at the mess he had made before returning the weapon to his back. He then stoops low, hands on his knees to raise his voice at Ovarin again, as if yelling would help a dead man hear what he had to say –

“That will teach you for picking on little girls like that!”

Boris’s rage hadn’t ended just yet, though. Overwhelmed with anger he drops down next to the body and bites off all four fingers from one hand of the corpse. He then gets back up on his feet, chewing as he starts to relax, as if the taste of his victim was soothing him like a nice, warm home cooked meal. The sound of bones being crushed by his teeth is heard as he turns his blood spattered face to Kaldalis, at which point Boris also notices the ghost of Sara Stone standing next to the prisoner.

Knowing it was rude to speak with your mouth full, Boris grounds down the fingers for a time before suddenly stopping, like he may have bitten into something distasteful. His face winces as he then digs around in his mouth and eventually pulls out the ring that Ovarin had been wearing. After finally swallowing, Boris The Bonecrusher holds up the ring between his finger and thumb to show it to Kaldalis and the Ghost of Sara Stone.

“I think Boris is going to keep this.” He says, as a grateful smile develops. “It sure is a nice ring.”

Boris then wipes his mouth with his forearm while slipping the ring in his pocket with his other hand.

“You sure do seem nice…” Boris says to Kaldalis while quickly glancing at Sara. “And it sure does look like the little miss likes you too. So if you can give Boris a really, really, really good reason, I’ll just let you out of your jail cell, Mr. Tin Man. Anyway, the guards here like Boris a lot, and Boris doesn’t even know why, so it should be okay with them as well I thinks.”

Boris then looks at the ghost and snickers, saying; “I don’t think you should stay in here, little miss, jail isn’t a good place for a nice person like you.”

Boris then glances around curiously at the frosted iron bars and walls of the cell block before returning a stare to Kaldalis, waiting for the Tin Man to give a really good reason to set him free.

Ilyssa made sure to keep her face passive whole story, other then a small wrinkle of her nose at the man’s breath. She didn’t respond, just placed three silver pieces on the table and left. Hopefully the man used the extra money to clean himself up a little.

Back outside, she used the map to begin searching for a place she could find employment. She would look more into Agartha afterwards.
