Hello there!

This is the OOC rundown post of the RP, its contents and other information you might want to know. This and the following posts will likely get edited a lot to keep viewers in the loop as well as potential players.

First thing's first, if you'd like to join in, your best bet is to hop onto our Discord at - discord.gg/KMP63QD

Secondly, if you're just interested in reading, we have a Google Doc for the list of characters involved here - docs.google.com/document/d/1Aiz6--yti…

Now onto the details.

This RP is going to be a collaborative storytelling effort. As such, there's no one GM running the show. All the players involved get a say on the plots that may develop, and may also run said plots if they get voted on. This way we can keep things going and fresh if ever players need to drop out for a bit and hopefully a bit more relaxed.

The RP is listed as Advanced, but we're more interested in the story as a whole, and the presentation of ideas by characters, as opposed to how well you can write. So don't think impeccable grammar and wordsmithery is necessary to join in. After all, we can always edit a post if spelling is a bit wonky :)

We're also here to help each other have a good time, learn to be better RPers and writers, as well as develop a fun and interesting environment. So whether you've got hours each day to devote to the RP, or just a couple of posts a week, we'd be happy to see you come join the motley crew that will make up our group.

Keep checking back with this one, as this is more the OOC meta post on the game overall. Stuff may change and I'll hopefully keep it all updated.

Here's where our 'rules' for the RP will be kept, as listed below -

Rule 0: Have fun, and if you aren't having fun, let us know! No point spending ages posting if you're getting bored, and we don't want people just dropping out without letting us know why first. That's why we're all here after all :)

Rule 1: No Metagaming - This means any Out of Character knowledge (stuff you as a player knows) cannot be used by your character. There's a timeline of events in DA we're sticking to, so obviously we as players know how things will progress in the context of the setting. Your character of course can't use this.

Rule 2: No Powergaming - Please don't decide how other Player Characters react to your posts. Sure, if you want to write a bit about how the NPCs are reacting, go for it. But when it comes to another player, please keep things open and vague for them to react to your intents.

Rule 3: 'Gentlemen's Agreements' are the go to mechanic - We're going with a rules-lite game, so generally players will be expected to come to mutual agreements on character interactions if conflict occurs (and we hope it does). Make sure everyone involved has come to a conclusion on how a situation will pan out if it involves other players consent.

Rule 4: The current GM (person running the plot) has final say - If a player wants to dispute something the GM does OOC, that's perfectly acceptable, but take it to PMs, Discord or OOC. Don't clutter up posts and be civil. We don't want the In Character section to get bogged down with an argument.

Rule 5: Stick within the established setting - If something is canon or can be done in the games/books/comics etc., then that's how it is in the RP. That being said, variations and interpretations are probably fine as long as they aren't wildly different or going against the canon.

Rule 6: No interaction with canon characters without GM approval - We want to develop the setting between the lines, not just re-hash the already established. Canon NPCs will mostly be context to developments in the setting, as opposed to characters the group is directly influencing.

Rule X: Probably end up adding more stuff, but can't think of anything specific right now.

As with the other posts, check back now and again to see if things have changed since you last looked :)

Current plot and time left before the next vote will be up here.

We're going off a system where each 'plot' (which could be as small as a single 'scene') lasts at least a week. When the plot is over, there will be a week of voting on the next plot. The time in between will be sort of 'down-time' for the characters to develop and express themselves based on the plot and how characters and such acted within it. Once the new plot is started, then the timer will reset.

Plots can last longer than a week, but hopefully we'll keep the ball rolling so they don't take more than a month to finish. Some plots might be ongoing and coincide with other small plots taking place. Really just seeing how things work as we muddle along :P

Current Plot - 'New Beginnings' - OOC Info: Getting the characters introduced and showing people the kind of RP we're looking for.

Time Left - Monday 3rd December
