Random pet peeve: keyboard tapping sounds on phones and tablets. I have no clue why.

IMHO, "duck face" just looks dumb.

That's not an opinion, that's a goddamn fact.

Agreed. All it does is kill your battery that much quicker.

My 11-year old daughter, recently passed her black belt test. She completed the test under the effects of pneumonia. My wife took her to the doctor’s office after school today because she wasn’t feeling well. We knew she was feeling run down, but she didn’t complain about it. That is not in her nature. She has been focused on doing what she needed to do to pass her black belt test. She persevered, ignoring her breathing difficulties to complete the test. I also noted she was one of the first students to complete her 100 push-ups Saturday morning. Obviously, she is more machine than human.

If what I have been told is true, I know a little too much about someone's death.

I am perhaps the only one eager to see a new version of The Lion King, just as I was with The Jungle Book.

I'm glad they got James Earl Jones as Mufasa again.

Also, the animals in the Netflix Jungle Book movie fall pretty deep into the Uncanny Valley for me.

Neither am I, yet I must wonder what will set this one apart in tone most prominently. The majority of these remakes took a far darker, more gritty bent. On a related note as we are down this road of commentary and random facts, while the original The Lion King is the first movie I recall, it was not the first movie I had seen that impacted me.

The White Death is almost assuredly my favorite cryptid, as not only is it a feline, it straddles the world of mythology and folklore with some amount of fact at the same time. It is also one of those legends that has ingrained itself in Western lore despite being from a time before Europeans claimed the Americas.

I was once an active participant in a Comic Book themed roleplay, where I played over 40 characters at once. At one point we did an X-Men storyline taking place in the Danger Room, and I played 7 separate characters in the roleplay. The storline had 9 different authors, and took a year and a half to complete.

I believe love is a fire. All encompassing, unforgiving, and if not fed dies partly until giving a breath of new air or fuel to consume me once more.

Another random pet peeve: single-word responses. If I send a message to you (via email, text, whatever), and get something like, "Okay" for a reply, I have the urge to tear my hair out, hunt you down, and slap you with your own phone/tablet/computer.

In the vein of speaking about things one is to be irrationally annoyed by, I absolutely, positively loathe the style of those who send multiple single sentence and or limited word responses in any medium in rapid succession. It boggles my mind how anyone can live by writing or typing an utterance or two, sending it, then repeating that process three or four times. For God's sake, use sentences and paragraphs; they exist for a reason! Worse yet, this often means messenger devices will incessantly sound their notification that a message was received, making this even more annoying by introducing an auditory or vibrating component that gives the impression something important is taking place.

I suppose this goes in step with my dislike of media devices at large, particularly phones. The rule goes, unless it is absolutely pressing and urgent, say that someone is dying, something that cannot be awaited on in reply like an email, never, and I do mean never, am I to be called by phone. There are few things worse in their level of disproportionate distraction than a ringing, noisy phone, only for it to be a call that serves no purpose.
